The Reeke Egypt valentines trip is probably a cover while Reese has some "work" done before her next movie starts shooting. Maybe she's getting the knobby chin sanded down or boobs put in or the psuedo-baby bump flab is gonna get sucked up into a tube. Heath could have been hell to deal with, but I think Jake would have responded to, if not been inspired by, the constant challenge. Heath had so many interests, so many skills, and was such a superior actor that Jake would have had not choice but to respond if only to keep up.

Imagine, you become friends, respect each other as actors. Then you do love scenes and maybe even enjoy them. You notice how the other smells, tasts, feels like. And if one is gay/bi, the other bi curious, it's very likely that there were feelings and attraction.

I wish I had been able to adore Heath more while he was still here. I'll tell you one thing, it was so obvious that Heath absolutely *hated* the paparazzi and HW game, and he was so adamant about not wanting attention, and he and Michelle always had the worst sourpusses and flipping off the paps whenever they were caught, I didn't follow them. Sometime it was a little intimidating, Heath's demeanor! But I adore both of them, H&J.

MW got caught in all that tangle of bullshit and maybe she thought they might be ready to settle down,have a baby and become the next golden couple.

He directed some great music videos. Todd Hayness watched them and liked them a lot. That's a huge compiment. So, it seems Heath wanted to work behind the camera after TDK, there were no other projects lined up for him, because he planned to direct his first feature film.

It didn't happen,HW had no interest. Lance and Matt have been friends for years in TX, people outside of TX never knew that because the paps weren't trailing them 24/7. Jake and Lance remained friends and there were sightings of them hanging out long after the sunmmer of 2006. Don't thing Matt and Jake bonded like Jake and Lance but all three were seen hanging out in Nov. of '06.

an actor, singer, musician, athlete, horseman, marksman, director, photographer, founder of an artist collective, etc, etc.
Those are just some reasons. I sure there are things missing from the list; these are just off the top of my head.
Yes, Heath was a brillant actor. You couldn't have two roles more different than Ennis Del Mar and the Joker, and he pulled both off brillantly. Jake is not at his level yet. But the role of Jack Twist shows that he has the talent. It needs to be nurtured. Unfortunately, there is no one in LA who is going to do this. I really think the best thing Jake could do for himself would be to move to New York where he would be surrounded by the right kind of creative energy. And he could also use some of Heath's fearlessness.
And for Austin. He may get there, but I don't see him with the skill set to do it. I think he will always be B-C level at best.

Oh but he has chosen his roles so well. Rendition was a masterpiece. Jake was perfectly cast in Zodiac (should have won ALL the acting awards that season) and his roles in Nailed, Brothers and PoP will propel him to the top of the acting profession. Look out Daniel Day and Sean!

8:44am nailed it on the head. The ease and comfort Jake reflects on his face when he is around Austin, most of the time, is telling. That's how I know that Jake loves him. He has never looked like that around Reese, or anyone else for that matter.

While I don't doubt there was attraction between Heath and Jake, on both sides, I don't know how consummated it ever became. With those Lakers I pics, there's an unguarded intimacy, a dreaminess, staring off into space, on both their faces. Nope, still don't see it in the second Mark Ruffalo pic either. Jake is being his friendly, gregarious and expressive self, but there's still that little "wall" that we all have between ourselves and others. With J&A, the barriers are long gone. :)

Heath liked Jake a great deal and he chose him to be M's godfather. They kept in touch, were careful not to get "caught" by papz though. Don't forget Jake wore Heath's Dior jumper on the "Interview" cover and said they were friends in the Italian Vanity Fair.
In an interview Heath complained how friendships end after filming and promo are over and he hated it. He was very sensitive, even if he didn't look like it.
