Beard or Bust!

If you are really Master of your Fate, it shouldn't make any difference to you whether Cleopatra or the Bearded Lady is your mate.
- Ogden Nash

I never had long hair before I got busted. I never had a beard before I got busted.

If the beard were all, goats could preach.
- Danish proverb

You can't grow a beard if you shave.
- Bob Blue

NO! Not the beard!
- Lord of The Rings

In Hollywood, you can keep a mistress, or a boyfriend, maybe both. You can go gay, bi, or pan-sexual. Just don't tell anybody, and don't get caught.

Disney and LEGO Group Announce Strategic Licensing Relationship

-- World's leading construction toy brand secures rights to develop toy lines based on three Disney properties for 2010 -

The LEGO Group and Disney Consumer Products today announced a multi-year licensing agreement that gives the world's premiere construction toy brand access to an extensive portfolio of renowned Disney and Disney Pixar properties. LEGO(R) and LEGO DUPLO(R) products are currently in development for three franchises -- Disney Pixar's Toy Story and Cars, and Prince of Persia -- all scheduled to launch in 2010.
...
Prince of Persia

A line of LEGO System construction toys based on Walt Disney Pictures' and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Mike Newell and scheduled to release in May 2010 is also in development. The film, based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina and Gemma Arterton in an epic tale of Prince Dastan's struggle to stop an evil ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Prince of Persia-themed LEGO products are scheduled to launch in April 2010.

"We are thrilled to team up with Disney, another of the world's premium brands for families with children," said Jorgen Vig Knudstorp, CEO LEGO Group. "When two brands who share similar values bring their franchises together -- in this case a timeless play pattern with some of the industry's most beloved stories and characters -- and combine their access to families, retail strength and marketing power, amazing things can happen. We can't wait to launch the first three lines and look forward to exploring all of the ways in which we bring the wonderful world of Disney to life in LEGO form."

"Joining forces with LEGO Group speaks to the commitment and vision both companies share for quality product and innovative creativity that invigorates kids play," said Vince Klaseus, senior vice president, global toys, Disney Consumer Products. "Our collaboration will continue to extend the vitality of our roster of franchises by bringing our characters and their worlds to life in a fresh and exciting way. Through these new LEGO product lines, Disney will continue to build presence in the construction toys category and grow market share in the boys demographic."

Yes it did, but no one is forcing Jake to keep bearding with Reese. Jake is in charge of his own actions and he must feel that being with Reese is the right thing and right image for him. Personally, I think Reeeke is fake but that Jake has invested 100% of himself into Reeke and that we will be seeing them together for a long time to come. If Reese dumps Jake, there won't be anything else about him to generate any interest. How will his pic be in the rags every week? All Jake has become known after 2yrs of bearding is as Reese's boyfriend the guy that was BBM.

Anonymous said...

Well, that's his prerogative, for sure. Being a fan (and that's becoming more iffy every day) doesn't mean I have to like everything he does, or everyone he dates. Way back about the time of Zodiac, I actually felt that if he wasn't with Austin, it was nice that he was with Reese, I didn't know much about her, only saw her in one film, WTL. But as time has gone on, I don't really like the way she presents herself, and he seems to be a different person now. Perhaps he is, because BBM was three years ago. His new movies: Nailed, I'm not crazy about, Joe Namath? Hell no - Moon Project - Don't know. Pop maybe. The only one that holds any interest for me is Brothers.

We don't know what he's agreed to as part of the deal. You don't need to enjoy everything about your job, but you are expected to do it.

Mickey Rourke recently confused airport staff in London by carrying a suitcase filled only with shoes: ""Five-and-a-half stone - 36kg - of shoes is one heck of a lot of shoes, especially for a bloke," says a source, "Staff thought at first he must have had his BAFTA in the case. It was freezing cold but he had no socks on and a pair of blue slip-ons with very low heels. And it turned out that he had about 40 pairs of shoes very similar to the ones he was wearing in the case. It's the sort of thing you'd expect of Victoria Beckham, but not of a tough guy like Mickey Rourke." [ShowbizSpy]

Jake is not bearding for "both of them" if he is still with Austin, which I think he is. That doesn't even make any sense.

Bearding protects his relationship with Austin or his gay "lifestyle" when/if Austin is out of picture.

Anonymous said...

How does bearding protect his relationship with Austin? Maybe if we were seeing Austin out and about with Jake the way Lukas is seen with Leo I'd agree with that. But Austin has completely disappeared from Jake's "public" life, so what is there to protect? I'd really like to know 12:27,. because this argument makes no sense to me.

Disney and Lego of course only care about the children of straight couples, not gay couples. Children of gay couples don't count. Just like Baby Tile.

Anonymous said...

I thought I saw someone who could have been Austin in a recent LA Jake/Reese shoot, trailing behind and half-covered by other people but those ears...and he was very tall.

I think they may still be cutting him out of some photos, and pics of him just won't surface in People will they? Any hint of him and it'll be shunted off onto the cutting room floor. Reese and Jake are the money shots right now because Jake and Austin is not something major outlets wants to buy and get burned/saddled with and piss the big guns off. All H'wood industries are interlinked, remember.

Sad really. But yeah, he might still be around.

Anonymous said...

He stole my mojo (and my flag).

Sorry, I thought you'd Len(in) it to me for the day.

Anonymous said...

Austin has completely disappeared from Jake's "public" life, so what is there to protect?

Jake's private private life.
The best way to protect it is to make everyone believe paparazzi photos are showing his private life - that way he's "straight" and "in the open".

Anonymous said...

Everybody had a lot of fun with Brokeback Mountain Lego.

Cant wait for PoP fun.

Anonymous said...

The best way for Jake to protect his private life is to not keep Flynet on the speed-dial and go to places where he knows he'll be papped. He did not need to beard to protect his private life. Jake is reeking because he wants the publicity. I don't see Wenty out there with a beard 24/7, and yet he manages to keep his private life private.

Stop making excuses for Jake's bearding 1:34. If it doesn't bother you, fine. But at least call a spade a spade.

I agree with the poster who said that left to his own devices, he seems to be socially and politically aware, not someone who flaunts his privilege, but as soon as Reese & TPTB get involved, out come the private jets, the lavishness, the caste system, the status conciousness, and I guess they think people like to see movie stars behaving like haughty movie stars, but I don't.

Because Every Straight Girl Has Fallen In Love With a Gay Guy at Least Once

Asking a straight girl if she's ever had a crush on a gay friend is like a Starbucks barista asking me whether I'd like a white chocolate mocha frap for free because he screwed up someone else's order: The answer is always "yes." But Glamour's question posed to readers isn't what's interesting — it's their responses. Our favorites:

• I've been in love with my best friend, who's gay, for the past 2 years. I'll never forget the moment I met him, the way he looked, his smile. I knew right then two things: 1. that I would love him forever and 2. that he was gay. It sucks.

• I'm still holding out hope that my ridiculously handsome gay friend will tell me it was all an elaborate joke and that's actually straight. I'll always have a little crush on him, but sadly, it will never be. In high school, I had a huge crush on a guy who turned out to be gay. My aunt reassured me it could be a lot worse - she found out her boyfriend was gay when he started making out with another guy when they went to a concert. Ouch.

• I'm pretty sure one of my boyfriend's from highschool was gay, and he just didn't know it yet. Does that count?

• Never had the hots for a gay guy, but . . . my best friend is married to one. Last summer my husband and I house sat for our best friends. While we were there, my husband got on their computer–something we do all the time at their house. By accident he came across this massive collection of gay porn. I did some investigating of my own and now know that he's been cheating on her for years–with men. What should I do? I feel like it's not my place to "out" her husband, but then again, wouldn't you want to know?

• I have a gay boyfriend. I love him. (my real boyfriend is only ever so slightly jealous.)

• I got to try to convert a gay guy once! Not to date him or anything, he just said he would like to try at least once to sleep with a girl, it was fun, funny, and a worth while experience but afterwards he said he'd be sticking to what he knew! He did say my lips were way better than any guys, and boobs were pretty cool!lol! Past that, one of the places that my b.f's band plays is in a town with a lot of lesbian couples and it's always fun to watch our guy friends hit on them and wonder why they get rejected!

Anonymous said...

I've never crushed on a gay guy but I do think my gaydar is broken due to my apparent inability to spot "fauxmosexuals". I never would have believed this existed until it happened to me. Apparently there are guys out there who use stereotypical gay mannerisms in order to meet girls and get them to let their guard down. And they think it is a good way to try and pick them up. I'll admit I did party all night with one guy who pulled this little move and had a fantastic time, until he suddenly tried to creep on me. Can't believe I was duped!!

Stop making excuses for Jake's bearding 1:34. If it doesn't bother you, fine. But at least call a spade a spade.

Ok let's call a spade a spade.
Don't like what you think Jake is doing. Move to another celebrity. How about an OUT celebrity. Have this crossed any of you peoples mind? No, it has not, even though there has been many post for the last 2 years suggesting it. It's insane to bitch constantly about what's going on in someones life you really don't know. Some of you are furious and it makes no sense. It's called insanity. You can't change Jake nor can you run his life! I'm sure some of you can't run your own life, but continue to be fixated on his and his every move. A blind man could see that you are upset because he is not following the script that you wrote for him. I know some will say that he is following hollywoods script, but he is an actor and that is his Job. If Jake is bi or gay as most and myself seem to think he's one or the other. You are gonna have to wait, Or, move on.
It's the harsh reality.
Or are you still waiting on Toothy Tile?

Anonymous said...

Let me clarify: By saying he is an actor and it is his job, I'm saying if he wants to play the hollywood game that he and most all celebs know about, it's his choice. This includes lobbying for a role, and doing what you have to do to be successful in this business and this includes bearding (if neccessary). Hell, the people behind the scenes and the movers and shakers are gay and (except) this attitude and sometimes they (encourage) it. I know it does not fit well with some, but it is what it is.
If you get upset about this, it means you are too consumed and too close.

Anonymous said...

I suppose you also think it's just OK for people at your work to sleep with the boss to get that promotion right? Because you gotta do what you gotta do.....wouldn't let little words like integrity, honesty, hinder you, hmm?

Geeze!

And why are you so obsessed with what we all think 10:36? Why do you keep coming here if you don't like what you read here? And I'm sick and tired of you telling people here who they should be interested in and who they shouldn't. Life isn't like Disneyland, you can't whitewash everything to suit your need to protect the homophobic HW system. I intend to keep calling Jake an asshole as long as he continues to beard and generally act the part (e.g., kicking and spitting at paps he didn't call), whether you like it or not. I'm not going to bury my head in the sand or "move on" to someone else just because the babblers, trolls, pr and Reeke don't like it that we continue to criticize Jake for his homophobic behavior.

You're the one who needs to move on. I suggest Gyllenbabble or Pop Sugar, they don't allow any criticism over there, should be just your speed.

Ledger family to accept Heath's Oscar

Heath Ledger's family will accept the late actor's hotly tipped Oscar on Sunday if his posthumous award-winning streak continues.

Father Kim Ledger, mother Sally Bell and sister Kate Ledger will walk the hottest red carpet in Hollywood among the A-list crowd in anticipation of their late son and brother's likely Academy Award win for his portrayal of The Joker in last year's Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight.

Ledger is an almost unbackable favourite to take out the prestigious prize ahead of other Best Supporting Actor nominees Josh Brolin, Robert Downey Jr, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Michael Shannon.

The Perth-born actor's maniacal and ghoulish performance has so far won best supporting actor at the BAFTAs, the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors' Guild Awards, making an Oscar grand slam a virtual certainty.

The late star is also a strong sentimental favourite to win the award. Oscars host Hugh Jackman has thrown his celebrity weight behind his fellow Australian, while Hollywood stars, some of whom took extraordinary measures to help support Ledger's daughter Matilda following his shock death in January last year, have come out in droves to celebrate his star turn in the Batman flick.

A spokeswoman for Ledger's family said many family members would fly out of Perth for Hollywood on February 18, while Kim, Sally and Kate were confirmed attendees at the ceremony. Younger sisters Ashleigh Bell and Olivia Ledger would also make the trip to Hollywood.

Moral Law

The rules of behavior an individual or a group may follow out of personal conscience and that are not necessarily part of legislated law in the United States.

Moral law is a system of guidelines for behavior. These guidelines may or may not be part of a religion, codified in written form, or legally enforceable. For some people moral law is synonymous with the commands of a divine being. For others, moral law is a set of universal rules that should apply to everyone.

Then to take it further into complaining about his every move if it's with someone they don't approve of. Everyday! Complainig about a RUMORED Gay Actor? Or the injustice of rumored GAY ACTORS /ACTRESSES. I don't know about that one. Can't do to much about rumors is my way of thinking. Now if there has been proof of the celebs. in the act. then I may be on board for that one, otherwise NO. Not gonna get crazy bat shit about a rumor. If so. Then how about making a list of all the rumored gay celebs. and talk about their injustice of staying in the closet.

Let's start off with
K. Spacey
J. Travolta
T. Cruise
R. Martin
W. Smith
J. Pinkett
Q. Latiffah
M. Rodriguz
OH, and let's include:
J. Gyllenhaal
A. Nichols

But we can't do Ellen and Rosie since they have decided to come out in their late 30's but still.
And the list goes on!

Now if this was the cause, then I'm ALL FOR IT! Sign me up now.
But to keep the focus on Jake and to hinge this (CAUSE) Solely on his coming out or Outing him is rediculous at best, then the motive must be the pictures on some of his upset fans walls.

Tony Perkins
3/22/58

Tony Perkins, the young Hollywood star, talks to Wallace about unflattering news stories, Hollywood, Manhattan, loneliness, religion, freedom, and the beat generation.

Anthony Perkins: also a lonely man.

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,294133,00.html

"He freely described himself as a mama's boy and lived platonically for years with a domineering older woman named Helen Merrill while enjoying often kinky sex with a succession of male lovers.

Yet Perkins' puzzling (at least to his friends) marriage to Berenson in 1973 seemed more than just a showbiz sham. Berenson, who'd had a schoolgirl crush on Perkins, pursued him relentlessly, and the couple eventually had two sons. By all accounts, Perkins was devoted to Berenson and his boys, though his gay friends privately doubted his claims that he was faithful to her. Unlike Marion Winik, the NPR commentator who wrote a riveting memoir of her marriage to a gay ice skater, First Comes Love, Winecoff is never able to convincingly capture the odd ties that can sometimes bind a homosexual man and a straight woman. But Winecoff does show that Perkins — in trying to hoodwink Hollywood by marrying — may have actually brought himself real happiness. ''It was a real sense of marriage between them,'' says writer Dominick Dunne. ''Whatever they had, it was wonderful. I mean, it was a real family.''

The book's strength lies in its voluminous research and wonderful, gossipy detail. (Winecoff claims that Rock Hudson was ''ecstatic'' when James Dean, his costar in Giant, was killed in a car crash, crowing that one of his main competitors had been ''eliminated.'') Its weakness is its flat, pedestrian prose. Winecoff (who met Perkins once when he sold him porn in a gay bookstore) admits in the preface that he has felt haunted by Perkins since adolescence and saw the actor as his ''doppelganger.'' As a result, the book suffers from a sense that the author is an obsessed fan as well as a biographer.

Though Winecoff's book is the first to expose the breadth of Perkins' double life, he was scooped by the National Enquirer, which broke the story of Perkins' battle with AIDS in 1990. (He died of complications from the disease in 1992.) Winecoff's triumph is in detailing how complex both Perkins' public and private lives were and how the homosexual closet can be more ambiguous than some gay activists might want to admit."

This Q&A with out gay musician Jay Brannan was posted on ONTD and I think it's an interesting opinion to discuss here if anyone is interested.

Jay Brannan - "'gay' shouldn't BE a genre."

Q. the big annoying GAY factor: why do you hate being called a "gay" singer-songwriter, or being told you write "gay" songs, or always being asked to participate in gay-themed activities, etc.?

A. it's 2009. i think it's time that everyone, the "gay community" included, allow gay people to take their place in the world as real people, rather than continuing to be defined and separated by their sexual orientation. i want the freedom to be myself, unafraid and uncensored, without having to market myself based on a sexual orientation, or attaching that sexual orientation to my name as a title... Oh dear, this is a sort of deja vu all over again, albeit in a reverse chronological order. ;)

:)

On the other topic, I too look forward to the day when same sex oriented people are just seen as people, not their sexuality. It's a fine line, because until that day arrives, it can only help by being out there, talking about it, being who you are opening, singing about it, writing about it - much as the women's and racial equality movements did, and people were unfortunately defined by their sex and race. But the day did come when it mattered less and less, and I see that coming for sexual orientation too. On the other hand, it can be exploited.

Suze Orman on Marriage Equality: Prop 8 Took Away a Birthright

Financial guru Suze Orman talked to viewers about her Valentine's Day wish:

"In my opinion it is such a travesty that, a few months ago, Proposition 8, in California, passed. Proposition 2, in Florida, passed. What is that about, everybody? We are taking away a birthright, if you ask me, for people to get the most out of the money that they have spent their lives working. Those people are making money. They pay taxes on the money. Every single one of us deserves to have the same financial benefits whether we are gay or whether we are straight. And therefore, we have got to do everything we can to turn that around. Every single one of us deserves to be loved. Every single one of us deserves to love. And every single one of us deserves to make the most of the money that we have. That’s my Valentine’s Day wish for every single one of us."

TV Stations Drop Controversial Program on 'Homosexual Agenda'
By Lawrence Jones
Christian Post Reporter
Sun, Feb. 15 2009 08:50 AM EST
[-] Text [+]

Two TV stations have pulled from their lineup a television special on the "homosexual agenda" that they deemed too "controversial."

WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Mich., and WSYX-TV in Columbus, Ohio, both canceled the paid television program "Speechless...Silencing the Christians," produced by the American Family Association, after gay rights activists "bombarded" the stations with protesting calls and e-mails.

AFA founder and chairman Donald E. Wildmon has accused the stations of bowing down to the demands of a handful of homosexual activists.

"They said the program was 'controversial,'" said the pro-family leader in an e-mail sent Friday to supporters.

"The stations do not consider showing two lesbians or two homosexuals kissing or getting into bed with each other controversial. The stations do not consider all the profanity they air controversial. They regularly show network programs advocating the homosexual agenda, but those programs are not considered controversial."

The one-hour special originally was set to air Monday night on WOOD-TV, an NBC affiliate, but was rescheduled because the station did not think it was appropriate to lead into the president's 8 p.m. press conference.

Gay rights groups like GLAAD, Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, had working with local supporters to mobilize activists to contact the Grand Rapids station.

The station offered to move the program to a different time slot but rescinded the offer after not receiving a response from AFA. The decision was also due to mounting pressure from gay rights activists.

"We made a gesture of the 2-3 p.m. Saturday time period. It’s been 24 hours and we had no response," Diane Kniowski WOOD TV 8 General Manager said in statement Wednesday.

"Our station is being bombarded with calls and messages, and we find ourselves in the middle of someone else’s fight. Ours was a fair offer and we are removing ourselves from this matter."

An hour prior to the announcement, Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights group, urged its members contact the station and ask that they pull the scheduled program.

WSYX-TV, an ABC affiliate station, had also agreed to air the special but then revisited its decision.

Initially, the Columbus station postponed the scheduled Feb. 7 airing of "Silencing the Christians," saying the manager of the station had not had a chance to review the program.

But WSYX-TV decided this week to nix the program. The manager of the Columbus station told AFA that the program's content did not represent "positive Christianity."

The cancellations, however, have helped drive AFA's point, according to Wildmon.

"Oddly enough, the TV special shows how the media censors Christians, which is exactly what these two stations did!"

The purpose of "Speechless: Silencing the Christians One Hour TV Special DVD," according a blurb of the product on the AFA's e-store, is to "reveal the truth about the homosexual agenda and its impact on the family, the nation, and religious freedom."

AFA reportedly has the support of over 2.6 million Americans.

That description of the book about Tony Perkins makes it sound like we're supposed to think it's okay to live your life that way because he formed some kind of family with Beson. That's pathetic. How many gay men do you really think would choose to build their family life around a platonic relationship with a woman if they were free to come out of the closet.

Clearly that was not enough and he continued to see men on the sly. And here's a thought, maybe if he'd been able to live in a steady relationship with a man instead of engaging in casual hookups he might not have come down with AIDS. Honestly, what kind of life is that?

Tab Hunter had an affair with Tony Perkins, he talks about it in his book. One of the reasons their relationship fell apart was professional jealousy brought on by competing for the same parts. He also talked about how ambitious Perkins was, career-wise. My impression was also that Perkins was not a happy man.

Is that the kind of life all you people who insist we leave Jake alone want for him? A life of casual sexual hookups while living in a platonic relationship for the sake of his career? As long as everyone continues to turn a blind eye to what living in the closet means, and ignoring what a toll it takes on people, nothing is going to change.

All of you babblers, trolls and fangirls are helping keep Jake in this horrible straightjacket by your insistence on straight stars and acceptance of showmances.

Unfortunately, if he chooses a life of unhappiness, that's his prerogative, not ours. Sometimes there isn't much you can do about someone else's behavior, or how they choose to live their life. He's still young, and we can't live his life for him, regardless of our own experiences. While it's tempting to try to give good advice, he has to learn for himself.

The coat is from Aubin and Wells in the UK.

Two years ago people said if Jake were to come out he would lose his appeal. Well, he went the other way instead, and *has* lost his appeal. Then he's away from Reese for a few days and he shines again.

I'm all for people developing relationships however they see fit. But Reese and Jake are *pretending* to fit the cookie cutter, and it's unpleasant to watch.

Our myths define us as a culture. Hollywood has a great deal of influence on defining those myths. Unfortunately Jake and Reese so far have chosen use their Hollywood superpowers to support dishonesty and increased exclusion of gay people. They should use their power for good.

^^ I somewhat agree with this.
I think he makes a valid point.

Just a little something on my mind since reading Jay Brannon's thoughts. There are some people (mostly men) who do not want to classified as Gay. Sure these men are homosexuals or bisexuals and would rather be called homosexuals or bisexuals instead of GAY. There is another group who would rather be called Same Gender Loving Men. This seems to be a small group from my understanding and mostly minority. They expressed that the word Gay is looked at negatively and puts all homosexuals in a stereotypical disadvantage and that the term Gay is a White effiminate mans term just as the word Queer was. And some do not identify with it at all. I found / find it interesting.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't care about Jake's relationship with Reese one way or the other, ro- or showmance. I cared for Jake's career. But after the disgusting photo ops 4 days after Heath passed, my stomache turns seeing them together. I can't help it. :(

Anonymous said...

{Well, he went the other way instead, and *has* lost his appeal. Then he's away from Reese for a few days and he shines again.}

Come on. You really must Realize that Jake's fan sites, at least the gay fan sites are small compared to the larger picture. When you talk about Jake's fans are you only talking about the gay fans? You can't do that. It's a bubble. Some fans of Jake's don't care if he's straight, gay or bi. Some just like him because he's handsome and some don't believe the rumors. You have to think out of the Jake Gay fan box.

And it's not just here that people feel Jake doesn't shine anymore. Just check out PInk is the New Blog, Dlisted (which rarely covers him anymore), Defamer, Gawker, DL, the reduced traffic at IHJ and on. The only sites that still really post about him are Just Jared, US and Pop Sugar. And when they do, it's to talk about "Reese's boyfriend" Oh, and lets not forget the babblers, who've managed about 10 posts over the past 2 days.

In short, the only places that seem to be interested in Reeke are the pr-driven sites, not the ones run by independent-minded people.

Jake is bearding because of his JiS fans? JiS fans don't care if Jake is lying and pretending? Something else?
BTW, JiS fans care about Jake being "straight".

Anonymous said...

No one is talking about Jis fans or anyone caring about Jake being straight. All I said is if you are gonna keep a registar on Jake's fans, you cannot discount his other fans who are not gay, or interested in his orientation. They are there whether you believe it or not. It's nothing to get angry about. Jake has more fans than his gay fans.

Example: I love M. Streep, G. Clooney, H. Berry, D.D. Lewis, P. Walker, Brad Pitt and a whole host of other stars. I have never been to their fansites and very seldom read anything about them unless I'm on a plane or a doctor's office. There are many people like me. Jake is the first celeb. I took an interest in further than his acting persona. But I will go see all of the celebsbritys mentioned above movies because I like their acting and I like them.

During the interview, which covered her latest book, Women and Money, due out at the end of this month, writer Deborah Solomon asked Orman if she is married, and Orman replied initially, "I'm in a relationship with life."

Solomon then prompted, "Meaning what?" and Orman replied: "K.T. is my life partner. K.T. stands for Kathy Travis. We're going on seven years. I have never been with a man in my whole life. I'm still a 55-year-old virgin."

Exclusive: Behind the scenes at the Lego Prince of Persia pitch meeting

Exec: Okay, team. Times are tough and my wife has put on 20 pounds since Christmas. We need a surefire hit to cushion our bottom line and get those investors off my back. Any ideas? Johnson, what say you?

Johnson: Um…

Exec: You’re fired, Johnson. Hope you enjoyed your time here. Murphy?

Murphy: I’m just the janitor, remember? You told me to come in here so you could yell at somebody and look important to your subordinates.

Exec: Well, then, looks like you’ll serve your purpose after all. [Exec spits on the floor.] Now clean it up!

Jones: I have an idea, sir. How about a Lego Prince of Persia game. You know, like Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars, but this time set in the Prince of Persia universe.

Exec: And what universe would that be, Jones?

Jones: Persia, sir. It’s what they used to call Iran.

Exec: Hmm, Iran, not too sure about that. Aren’t we at war with Iran?

Jones: Not yet, sir. Maybe you’re thinking of Iraq?

Exec: Bah, they’re all the same. But excellent, that means there’s still time for us to exploit the country’s history and culture for our own personal gain.

Jones: Oh it gets better, sir. Instead of basing this game on the just-let-it-die-already franchise, we’ll base it on the upcoming Disney movie of the same name.

Exec: And what name would that be, Jones?

Jones: Price of Persia: The Sand of Time, sir. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton. Studio says they’ll have it ready in 2010.

Exec: I don’t know who those people are. Are they famous?

Jones: Well, no, not in the traditional sense of the word. But the studio will launch a publicity blitz right as the movie is coming out. Leno, Letterman, puff pieces in exchange for journalistic integrity in the weeklies, etc. By the time it comes out, the public will be convinced that they’re famous even though they’re complete nobodies.

Exec: [Lights a cigar.] What? Oh, right, yeah, sure great. Bottom line it for me, Jones.

Jones: The game should be out in 2010 probably for every system under the sun, and it’ll be based on the movie, not the terrible games. And people love Lego for some reason. With the studio’s support, I’m sure IGN will at least give it a 7.034532, while simultaneously calling it a “cinematic achievement.” We can’t lose.

Exec: Perfect, Lego Prince of Persia it is. Hire the county dogcatcher to write the script and get someone who made a funny YouTube video to do the art direction.

Jones: Way ahead of you, sir, only the dogcatcher said he didn’t want to be associated with this project, said it was demeaning. We’ll have to settle for an NBC television writer.

Exec: Son of a bitch, fine. You keep trying that dogcatcher, though, I don’t want this project saddled with the stench of failure (a sitcom writer).

Jones: Right away, sir.

Exec: [Throws cigar on the floor.] Murphy!

What if PoP is a commercial flop?
I think Jake should have tried to deliver quality work instead of looking for a franchise. And he always seems to want to be connected to much more famous women. I knew him as Kirsten Dunst's boyfriend back in the day and only became aware of him through BBM and I checked the movie out because of Heath, since I was interested in him since "10 things". I became a Jake fan too after BBM instantly. Then this stupidity with Reese begun and I'm kinda over him. I'm just too addicted to this board to leave. LOL.

Uh oh Reese wants to be an action star. Could it be possible the fauxmance with Jake resulted in not only him getting POP but also Reese securing an action franchise? The hard part is getting writers to come up with a role that suits her tiny stature and lets face it she can't act so the heroine has to be close to her real life personality. Hey I got it, what about Beverly Hills Beard and the Last Goatee. or Die Straighter. or The Control Identity. or Midget:Imposterer JIS.

I see now, Only the wft2 clan has the right to infiltrate other blogs, even the ones who don't agree with them, post their opinion then run home to wft. And bitch about what other fandoms are talking about, comparing notes, and complaining about others coming to wft2 constantly.

That about sums it up. :)

Its not been my experience that WFT2 fans infiltrate other blogs, to make trouble and post their differing opinions. it's pretty entertaining right where we are.

I dont personally visit blogs that have views not agreeable to my own.

why do you?

WFT1, OMG are the only Jake blogs that are now attracting posters that are sharp & smart - why should these people want to go slumming?

The Babblers have to go somewhere to bitch because their own blog makes Hitler look like the ACLU.

#1: *you* are here. *We* are not there.

#2: You are so hilariously pathetic that I wouldn't have it any other way. Whinge away Maddie!

"Unfortunately, if he chooses a life of unhappiness, that's his prerogative, not ours. Sometimes there isn't much you can do about someone else's behavior, or how they choose to live their life. He's still young, and we can't live his life for him, regardless of our own experiences. While it's tempting to try to give good advice, he has to learn for himself."

I agree, it's his life and his decision because he has to live with the consequences of his choices, not us. However, I still resent the hollywood power players that discriminate against gays and wish that when Jake is ready he stands up to it. When he is ready, however, and not before.
