I don't think anyone here hates Jake, but many JIS fans are disappointed that it looks like success, fame and money are higher on Jake's priority list than coming out and be an exaple for other young gay men (if he indeed is gay).
Well, since noone here knows Jake personally, they don't know the real truth about his sexuality. Most think they do, but they don't know for sure. I think there is a strong possibility he is gay, but I don't really know for sure.
Which brings me to my next point.
You can be gay and be a fan of any star. Any. Now just because there are rumors a star is gay does not make it true. and to wish and go absolutely haywire because your favorite star who has gay rumors has not come out is not a good thing imo. I know of other stars besides Jake with rumors who I would love to come out, they have not. Besides if though I believe the rumor, does not make it true.
Jake does not have to be the poster child for gay rights or some young gay person if he does not want to. The young gay people you talk about should look to the already (OUT) GAY stars who will give their support. Not knock down someones door because you demand their support. Some of the Rumored Gay stars may just have rumors, that's all.
Also, Jake's career is (his) career, nobody elses. You nor I, or anyone else can make decisions about (his) career for him.
That's selfish also.

LG is a babbler and is not objective. NEVER has been. The babblers run DCF however they please - they banned JiG talk, they stifle any honest discussion about Jake that God forbid doesn’t show him in the bestest of lights, they take jabs at Heath every chance they get. Well, how would I know this? It's a suggestion to Heath fans who post there and must deal with an obiously biased, "stupid remarks making" moderator there.
I don't mind people having their own opinions, no matter what they are. But what was shocking is that someone commented about the Heath questions, and not one, but two people attacked and rebutted her comments, point for point. People should be allowed to speak their minds. And a token pic of Heath doesn't convince.
Still LMAO that a moderator for BBM describes BBM as just a random film on Jake's filmography. I don't post there, but read about complaints here from time to time and today, as I mentioned, I took a look myself and it's wacko. LOL.

We all know Jake has the right not to come out. And I think most of us here are okay with that.
What you don't seem to realize 4:10 is that there is a difference between being out, and bearding, and that we have the right to be disappointed and criticize him for doing that, especially with a famewhoring bitchface.
We also have the right to criticize him for hiking and shopping with the bitchface as if nothing had happened after Heath died. I find it strange that he hasn't said a word about it, but when you throw in what he did, yeah, I think he deserves all the criticism he gets. I still remember too how we got that blogger who said she saw Reeke laughing and shopping in LA (no pictures) a day after he died, a story that was clearly a pr plant that didn't get pulled.
Why is it always the private ones who get outed, and not the bearding ones? I'm all for outing someone who lies to their fans (yes, I'm looking at you Jake) because I think bearding is deeply homophobic and damaging, but I think people who live honestly, but privately, should be left to their privacy.

First IHJ pics of Atticus was March 14, 2004 at Nuts for Mutts Dog Contest. I thought that was when they adopted him? To me he looks about 9 months old at the most. So Atticus is only about 6 years.

Mississippi school sued for canceling prom over lesbian student
A Mississippi high school faces a lawsuit over its decision to cancel its prom rather than allow a lesbian high school student to attend with her girlfriend.
The lawsuit, filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, alleges that officials at Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, Mississippi, are violating the student's First Amendment right to freedom of expression.
The ACLU asked the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi to reinstate the prom.
"All I wanted was the same chance to enjoy my prom night like any other student. But my school would rather hurt all the students than treat everyone fairly," said the student, 18-year-old Constance McMillen, in an ACLU news release. "This isn't just about me and my rights anymore -- now I'm fighting for the right of all the students at my school to have our prom."
At the center of the lawsuit is a memorandum from the school to students, dated February 5, which states that prom dates must be of the opposite sex.
Also, when McMillen expressed a desire to wear a tuxedo to the prom, the superintendent told her only male students were allowed to wear tuxes, according to court documents.
Superintendent Teresa McNeece also told McMillen that she and her girlfriend could be ejected from the prom if any of the other students complained about their presence there, according to the documents.
The prom was canceled after McMillen and the ACLU tried informally to get the school to change its stance.
Officials at the Itawamba County School District were not immediately available for comment Thursday.
In a statement released Wednesday, the county's board of education said that, "Due to the distractions to the educational process caused by recent events, the Itawamba County School District has decided to not host a prom at Itawamba Agricultural High School this year."
The school hoped that private citizens in the community would organize an event to replace the prom, the statement said.
The decision was made, the board of education said, "taking into consideration the education, safety and well-being of our students."
"Itawamba school officials are trying to turn [McMillen] into the villain who called the whole thing off, and that just isn't what happened," said Kristy Bennett, Legal Director of the ACLU of Mississippi. She's fighting for everyone to be able to enjoy the prom.
"The government, and that includes public schools, can't censor someone's free expression just because some other person might not like it."

Why Jake Gyllenhaal can't fake it any longer
Coming from a family steeped in the business, Jake Gyllenhaal knows the routine. When it comes to promoting a film, you can never say enough good things about your co-stars.
"It's true, actors do this stuff: 'Oh, he's great — he pisses lemonade and he shits rainbows,"' he says.
But no more. Such was the positive experience Gyllenhaal enjoyed with his new best buddy Tobey Maguire in Brothers, he's committed to working on projects where the camaraderie is real.
"I don't believe any more I can make a movie when I don't care ... about the other people in the process," says the actor, whose father is a director, his mother a writer and sister is the Oscar-nominated Maggie Gyllenhaal. "I don't think I'm any good when I don't interact."
Once poised to take over from Maguire in the Spider-Man franchise, 29-year-old Gyllenhaal credits his on-screen brother for initiating a meaningful and professionally rich relationship when the pair decided to do the film.
"We'd work out together, we'd play basketball together," Gyllenhaal says. "Not only is he a great actor, he's also a great producer in some ways.
"He's 100 per cent always involved."
Gyllenhaal's career has remained buoyant since he was nominated for an Oscar alongside Heath Ledger for Brokeback Mountain in 2005, although he's yet to become the next ubiquitous Hollywood star as many had expected. Ironically, Gyllenhaal turned down the lead role in the blockbuster Avatar but with a raft of diverse roles, including the big-budget Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, coming to screens this year, he is destined to reinforce his reputation as a marquee name.

Many actors have recently and successfully played gay characters. So why, asks James Mottram, are there so few openly gay stars...
...It was a question faced by Ficarra and Requa when casting for Phillip Morris. "People have asked us, 'Why didn't you hire gay actors to play these roles?'" says Requa. "Well, there are no gay actors in Hollywood! None of them are out of the closet. With the exception of Ian McKellen, who is too old for the part, it's exceedingly rare to see that. And it sucks because they're actors. If a straight guy can play gay, why can't a gay guy play straight? It's just as convincing. But there's this perception in marketing, somehow the public can't overcome this idea of, 'There's a gay guy kissing that straight woman – my God!' I don't understand that."
This backs up recent comments made by Rupert Everett, one of the few openly gay actors who would've been eligible, age-wise, to play Russell or Morris. "The fact is that you could not be, and still cannot be, a 25-year-old homosexual trying to make it in the British film business or the American film business or even the Italian film business," he said. "It just doesn't work and you're going to hit a brick wall at some point. You're going to manage to make it roll for a certain amount of time, but at the first sign of failure they'll cut you right off."
Even so, Requa still believes progress is being made and that, one day, Hollywood will reverse this unspoken homophobia. "It will happen," he says. "There will be the Jackie Robinson [the first African-American baseball player] moment where some powerhouse A-lister will come out, and he'll be so irresistible, no one will care." Until then, while gay characters can enjoy their time on screen, gay actors cannot.

I saw that. It was hilarious. Basically, she outlined the scenario for her ultimate dream BBM fanfic - where an afterlife Jack gets his vengeance on Ennis by "making him suffer," telling him to "fuck off," etc., etc. One witty poster followed with the suggestion of an antidote for UV's maniacal ramblings,lol, but basically I think she stunned the board a bit. Most people just stay away from her because they've learned that if they try to call her on her bullshit, LG steps in to protect her pretty quickly. It's totally loony the way she transferred her hatred for the character onto poor Heath - and funny that she thinks people can't see that.

It's true - I made the mistake of complimenting one of Maggie's gowns, and all three of them converged on me. From the little bit I have read of it, LG's story is blatantly copied from other people's writing, and she puts he own name on it an posts it as her own. UV is probably her beta. They really are something, the two of them.

Because as she said, it's Madonna, I used to dress up like her! She did confess having been to a couple parties and few drinks did make it easier. Then Madonna moved on, and Maggie looked up a few minutes later to see Madonna dancing with Peter on the stairs, his tie all undone and just getting into it.

I actually never read LG's story until she revealed herself as the writer - but the bits I did read I found to be rife with similarities to other slash writers' work! I think truly that neither UV nor LG like slash really, because they'd like to erase the gay chapter right out of Jake's resume, as we can see from yesterday's post about just another body of work. :(

I honestly don't think that's true. I do think they were friends and that it was management that decided they needed to stay away from each other in public. Who was the director that said he saw them by the pool together at some hotel but away from paps? But I don't find that a good reason for Jake to totally avoid making any mention of Heath after he died - he shouldn't have let his handlers talk him into that. And I say that as someone who likes Jake but that doesn't mean I can't form an objective opinion and that doesn't mean I have to like the way he behaves all the time.

Well, I can't argue with that, 9:09. You're right. There are quite a lot of people who write stories like that. I remember one person wrote this story "Looking Back" that had some promise until I realized that according to the writer, this Jack was so hot that he could be as nasty and abusive to Ennis (who never was spoken of hot) just because...Jack is a god and can do anything he wants. Fortunately, the writer stopped her story after 75 chapters of Jack doling out abuse to Ennis.
It also makes me laugh when people say Jake sees Matilda in secrecy, their only way to explain total lack of pictures or sightings.

There are some really good writers out there tho - they don't resort to plaigiarism nor taking out their own personal issues on the characters. That's just absurd, doing that to either Ennis or Jack.
Coming Out The Closet
Have you ever really though about they way we view sexuality? Why is it more socially accepted to see girl on girl than it is to see two guys holding hands or kissing. Katy Perry kissed a girl, and she liked it. But if Bon Jovi or Justin Beiber sang a song about kissing a guy and liking it? Can you imagine the storm it would cause? And after Katy's song became a hit, and then faded, no one ever questioned her sexuality. There are no rumors that she is a lesbian or that Russell Brand, her fiance, is in fact her beard. Gay rumors follow so many male celebrities around and they usually come from one tiny thing that was witnessed that can be construed as gay.
Don't misquote me, there are gay men in Hollywood. But you have to look at the whole picture to realize why exactly they are staying in the closet. Not only are they told not to by management or agents, but they know the way some fans will look at them. Fact is, two women together are more appealing. I couldn't begin to tell you why, for obvious reasons. That is what tends to lead men into agreeing to be seen with female celebrities.
Some gay males are actually so scared to admit they are gay, they convince themselves they are bisexual. It gives them the chance to live out their gay side, but also hold onto the straight side of them. And men associate straight with being masculine. Actually, most of America does. People have an image of what they think is a gay man. They expect us to come sashaying into the room on a rainbow with sparkles coming out of our mouths as we speak. And who wants to put themselves into that mold? I sure as hell don't. I have met guys who have claimed that they were straight and were homophobes. When they met me and found out that I was gay, they were blown away. They thought all gay guys were them same. It's that stereotype that leads guys to stay in the closet, or marry a woman who they are comfortable with and just find some action on the side.
The poor wives and girlfriends sometimes know, but for the most part they have no idea. No guy is going to admit to his girlfriend that he is attracted to another man. In Hollywood, for the most part, women know what they are getting themselves into. When you are a celebrity, you become a product. And to sell that product, you have to make it look as appealing as possible. Putting a pretty girl on your arm is more attractive to people then putting two gay guys holding hands at on the red carpet. And when the girls find out, they are usually crushed. I can name two female celebs who found out their boyfriend was bi or gay and they lost it. One has been in and out of rehab and the other is one hell of a hot mess.
In my own personal experience, I realized I was gay in elementary school. I thought my gym teacher was hot and I knew something wasn't right. I still met girls that gave me the heart pounding, and the butterflies and figured I was just confused. In fact I had girlfriends for awhile until I realized I was lying to myself and to them. I never admitted it to her until the very end. I knew that the minute she found out, our relationship would be over.
And I loved the girl, but I wasn't in love with her. I think that is what a lot of bisexual men or closeted gay men feel. The woman becomes your safety blanket that keeps your masculinity. The biggest fear of closeted gay men is damage to their ego. Their are gay men who know that they are gay their entire life. The ones that my dog knows is gay. And there is nothing wrong with knowing who you are and being yourself. Saying fuck you to everyone that cannot accept you. They are used to the hate and have built an armor. The closeted ones have secured themselves so much that if they think coming out would make them a joke. The first gay slur or laugh they got, they would be back in the closet in the fetal position. I am out to about everyone who knows me. When I am in a group of people, some that I have just met, I see a straight guy looking at me or whispering, I wonder if they are making a gay comment.
I shouldn't wonder that. I guess it is my insecure side coming out. I could be completely wrong about it, but when you are gay you are used to the comments, the whispers and the stares. Being who I am, people obviously look at me. There is always that little voice in my head that says, they know your gay and they are making fun of you for it. Sometimes I get really angry about it. I used to wonder why I was gay. Although I am comfortable with myself and have learned to love who I am, the way we are viewed sometimes makes me want to be straight. But it's not that easy. Once I see a picture of Kellan Lutz or Ryan Reynolds, I know that there is no turning back. I see a girl and I check her out still. And I will be the first to say a girl is hot, or beautiful. I do take notice to women, but seeing a woman take off her top does nothing like seeing Kellan Lutz jogging with his man business flopping back and forth. When people say it's a choice, I want them to point out when I got the letter asking me if I wanted to be gay.
WE are the reason that gay men are scared to come out. The reason that women find out after two kids and ten years of marriage that their husband is gay. The reason we are forced to see fake couples all over the internet, and television. Until we change the way gay men are looked at, then we are the problem. Notice the female celebrities usually come out on their own. Gay men are shoved out of the closet, usually by the fuck tard named Perez.
You want the lies to stop? You want to make the world better so that if your son is gay, he can admit it and not be forced to live a lie? Then change the way you think. We have to change they way gays are viewed. We cannot expect Hollywood to do it for us. Lord knows, they already control too much of what people do. Don't let the word gay be used as a synonym for bad or stupid. If you want a revolution, start with yourself. It's the only way things will ever change.

This is an open apology to some of the commenters here who were (are?) my friends, who defended me in the past when I was attacked and were fair.
I'm off today; that's why this is kind of coming out of nowhere. That day has been bothering me and I feel bad about it. Because I did butt in on something that wasn't any of my business and then, as usual, went off on a little rant that was a bit of a head scratcher, (even though I knew what I was trying to say but as usual I can't always get it down on the keyboard coherantly or appropriately)
Anyway, I'm truly sorry to some of you because you have always been nice to me and I was wrong to come flinging in throwing my weight around as usual. Not to say that we always agree on everything and we won't argue again, but in this instance, I was wrong for butting in on your territory and then using the forum to spout off about off topic and self-obssessed stuff. I hate having unpleasantness like that and I had to get that off my chest.

I just read through the recent posts. wow it's hilarious that people come to a site called Waiting for Toothy and then complain when Jake is called out for bearding/pr games/etc.
The whole point of this site is that it is waiting for Jake to stop faking/hiding things. Specifically, his sexual orientation.

Yeah, and that fic totally rocks, you're right! But, of course, she and her co-writer (who is also a great writer) have gotten shit from the usual humorless bunch that have sticks up their asses. You know, the ones who pretend that what they're reading isn't slash. LOL.
