trolly has waaaay too much time on their hands! First they insult 2 comments with frau names then they say "frau isn't an insult it's a word in German!" So that's what you meant with those 2 insulting responses, that the posters were German?

The word "trolly" and its definition used on websites isn't in the dictionary either, but we all know what it means on the internet.

Jesus, trolly, get a new act. You've worn this one out. Stop with the lame explanations for your lame "insults" and go back to babblers. In case you hadn't noticed, genius, this blog is written in English. And having to give "explanations" for your "insults" is the first clue that they're not landing, lol.

Dear Ted:
Alas, I have no dogs nor cats that I've been saving lately and I also don't want to lie and say that I saved any. Too honest, that's me. But maybe I can collect some points with my everlasting love for my soon-to-be 15-year-old cat, Mira? So, this is my question about Baby Tile: Has there ever been a kid growing up in the same circumstances as his before in H'wood? (I guess the answer is 'duh' for the rest of the world, as anything goes, but I was asking specifically about H'wood.) Or is he being raised somewhere else? (Would be saner, too.) Lots o' love from Germany.
—Nina

Dear H'wood Happenings:
If you say anything goes for the rest of the normal world, then anything and everything goes for Hollywood. H'wood is like the regular world amped up on sex and weirdness. Answer's yes.

Dear Ted:
Ted, sorry but your gingerbread manner of speaking drives this reader nuts. Riddle me this after that last ambiguous Toothy spill: Are Toothy and Grey Goose headed for divorce court?
—Concerned in Kansas

Dear Call Off The Lawyers:
No. Just have a lot of tensions to sort through right now. Both dudes don't exactly have the best career outlooks at the moment.

Bitch Back!

I wonder if Jake took the chubby girls with him last night (his PAs?). I think it's kind of sweet of him and no, I'm not a chubby girl.

Anonymous said...

Awww, that was a sweet clip of Jake and Heath - they were so proud of that film, you could see when they panned the audience. :)

They seemed proud. IMO esp. Heath...the move changed his career and opened a lot of doors for him, as he often said. And w/o BBM there wouldn't be baby M. :)

Anonymous said...

Both dudes don't exactly have the best career outlooks at the moment."

I don't understand this statement where Jake is concerned. His big summer tentpole blockbuster is going to open Memorial Day and even if sucks, it's bound to make LOTS OF $$$$. Jake is also starring in a film with Anne H that's getting Oscar buzz (okay for Anne but he is getting good advance buzz too). He's currently filming a thriller with a up and coming director. Why wouldn't Jake have a good career outlook right now?

Austin--yes. I think OTH will be cancelled but Jake, this looks like a big year for him career-wise.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Jake took the chubby girls with him last night (his PAs?). I think it's kind of sweet of him and no, I'm not a chubby girl.

Why sweet of him? So, he needs bonus points for going out with chubby girls? I know guys in real life who are as cute or cuter than Jake who have platonic gal pals who are chubby and/or ordinary looking. It's about personality and having fun together.

Anonymous said...

Austin--yes. I think OTH will be cancelled but Jake, this looks like a big year for him career-wise.

Exactly. Ted makes no sense in Jake's case.

Anonymous said...

but Jake, this looks like a big year for him career-wise.

It sure does. Ted's made it clear he hates the whole idea of PoP, but he needs to realize that that doesn't make it a bad career move for Jake.

Anonymous said...

Maybe the career tensions have to do with how to deal with the closet and bearding. Maybe Jake feels that bearding for 3 years didn’t bring him the results he expected, and they are figuring out what to do about their public images. To beard or not to beard. BT is growing. Jake's career still needs box office hits and we still don't know how PoP will perform.

Anonymous said...

Jake's career still needs box office hits and we still don't know how PoP will perform.

I'd be very surprised if PoP didn't at least perform well enough to be considered a b.o. hit, even if it's not the biggest hit of the summer movie season.

Anonymous said...

I think that how we see Jake’s career from the outside could be completely different from how he sees and judges it himself. He might have certain expectations that he expected to reach at this point that he feels he didn’t achieve. Jake is ambitious and maybe he thought that after BBM he would have a different career path that the one he has now (oscar noms, box-office hits, etc). He said it himself in a recent interview that this wasn’t the career path he envisioned for himself.

Anonymous said...

^^Well, now with PoP he has a chance for a b.o. hit and LAOD may be his first critically acclaimed film after a while (after Zodiac).

Anonymous said...

He said it himself in a recent interview that this wasn’t the career path he envisioned for himself."

I thought he meant that in a very glowing way--like he didn't expect to get all these mainstream, commercial films when he starred--that he thought he'd be doing low-budget indies the rest of his life.

Anonymous said...

9:20, PoP might be a piece of shit but there's NO way the film is not going to make money. It's mindless adventure blockbuster and it's opening Memorial Day weekend--of course it's going to make money. The boys are going to see this film and the girls are going to run to see Sex and the City 2 the same weekend.

It's a no brainer the film will do well. TDAT was also a piece of shit (in terms of its script) but it made a mint.

Anonymous said...

The advice Jake gave Maggie when she was nominated at the Oscars also sounded a bit bitter or as if he was disappointed that his career expectations after his own nomination weren't achieved.

Yeah, I had the same impression.
I think Jakey boy had huge expectaions after BBM success. But you really either have to work hard (with that I mean acting your ass off, if you are talented that is (and Jake is talented but he tends to be a bit lazy)) or have luck. Rendition & Brothers may just have been bad luck, we'll see what'll happen with his new projects.

I think Jake's advice is very sound:

Maggie revealed that Jake has been giving her advice: 'It's a lot of fun, and enjoy it in that spirit. If you make it too much more than that, you'll probably go astray.'

Just because a film brings in some box office does not mean it will make money. POP cost a fortune, like 200 million. It has to make that + enough to cover marketing expenses and the left over is profit. Do you think Disney is going to be happy with just a bit left over. The excitement for POP so far has been so-so at best. Jake has still not proven himself as a box office draw, which is what he had hoped for. Tepid describes the interest in POP. Not exactly what everyone hoped for. Expectations are relative. Jake wanted to be a super star and gave up 3 years of his life to do it. LAOD sounds promising, but early buzz is just that. Early. There is still time to muck up the film.

He Brought Greens to the Green Room BI said...

BlindGossip – Before making an appearance on a talk show, guests wait in a designated area known as the green room. A certain well-known actor has been making the rounds of talk shows recently to promote his film. For one such show, he decided to bring his own green to the green room. A little herbal refreshment, to be more specific. While it was rather surprising that he would light up in a strictly No Smoking area, what was even more surprising was the fact that he was doing it before one of those early morning talk shows. We’ve since heard that it is not unusual for him to spark up first thing in the morning and to keep the relaxation going all day and all night. No one should be surprised if he ends up in rehab this year.

Speaking of "chubby girls" remember the girl Jake was walking with when he, Maggie and Peter were leaving Uncle Vanya to go to a restaurant? That girl was a larger size and guess what, Jake looked like he was having an absolutely great time talking and laughing with her, more than he ever did with the tiny beard. I'm not saying he was dating this girl or interested, just saying that I don't think Jake judges people by their looks. I think Jake is like most mature people: he enjoys people who are intelligent, who can make him laugh and who make him feel good about himself.

Jake mans up for Prince of Persia said...

Jake Gyllenhaal gets physical in the new fantasy-adventure film Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, writes AREF OMAR

IN the trailer of the upcoming film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, a muscular Jake Gyllenhaal is seen doing amazing moves in exciting action sequences.

One has him scaling a high castle wall by pulling himself up using arrows half-buried in the wall that had been shot at the castle by a comrade.

“I look pretty cool doing that,” says the soft-spoken Californian actor when interviewed in Santa Monica. “But what you don’t know is the behind-the-scenes goofs. My arm and shoulder muscles were so big that the chest plate I wore prevented me from reaching up to grab the arrows,” he says.

“There were many funny takes of me doing that and in the end, they literally had to cut wider arm holes in the chest plate,” he says with a laugh.

Known for his brooding character in Donnie Darko, his role in Brokeback Mountain as well as for his recent film, Brothers with Tobey McGuire, Prince Of Persia sees Gyllenhaal venturing into new territory as an action hero.

Produced by action guru Jerry Bruckheimer, of Pirates Of The Caribbean fame, Gyllenhaal in Prince Of Persia grows a manly mane and bulks up to play the dashing rogue prince Dastan. Set in the mystical land of sixth-century Persia, he reluctantly teams up with the mysterious Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to prevent an ancient dagger from falling into the hands of evil nobleman Nizam (Ben Kingsley). The dagger contains the Sands of Time, which can reverse time and allows its possessor to rule the world.

“I’ve always loved watching action-adventure films and dreamt of being one of those characters as a kid. You know, like Indiana Jones and the cool, swashbuckling Errol Flynn flicks,” he says. “When I read Prince, I saw a clear role for me. This guy is wry, gets to do lots of fun stuff and best of all, is ‘bad’ and funny,” says the 29-year-old actor, who was once considered for the roles of Spiderman and Batman.

Gyllenhaal now has his own action figure line. “Yeah, it’s crazy,” he says, with a laugh. “It’s interesting to note that although the film is inspired by the popular video game of the 1980s, the platform game itself was inspired by action films like Raiders Of The Lost Ark.”

Looking casual in a pair of black jeans, sneakers and a Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop T-shirt, the six-footer looks fit as a fiddle. “I’m a physical person by nature, I love being active,” says Gyllenhaal, who is an avid cyclist and kung fu exponent. For the film he learned parkour, which sees the environment as a jungle gym obstacle course. It was founded by David Belle. “The role was incredibly acrobatic,” says Gyllenhaal.

Director Mike Newell, whose credits include Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, Donnie Brasco and Four Weddings And A Funeral, wanted the action scenes to be epic yet believable.

“There is a scene where my character runs along a wall, which seems impossible, but Belle made it happen. It’s one of my favourite scenes from the film,” says Gyllenhaal of the film which was shot in Morocco and at Pinewood Studios in Britain.

He says he does many of the stunts himself, including a 10.6-metre jump with wire work. “I wanted to do everything,” he says. “Why sign up for a film like this if you’re not game for some real action?”

Dustin Lance Black tackles J. Edgar Hoover said...

One of my favorite movies as a child was "Clue," and throughout the 1954-set film countless references are made to J. Edgar Hoover. I had no idea who that was until one character said he was "the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation."

But even with that minor description in place, it wasn't until a high school American History class that I fully grasped the power of his life story. I mean, this man created the F.B.I and instituted the fingerprint database that is still used today.

So I'm surprised it's taken this long (he died in 1972) for the man, the myth, the legend to earn a big screen biopic. But perhaps Hollywood was just waiting for the right duo to delve into his life. Thankfully director Clint Eastwood and Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black are up to the challenge.

"It's weird that it's just gotten out in the press because it's been going on for a long time," Dustin tells PopWrap exclusively of the film's progress. "It's a really important project to me and I'm super excited that Clint has signed on. He's the perfect director for the project."

The movie will follow Hoover’s career, from founding the FBI in 1935 throughout his long tenure as director, but what many people want to know is if "Hoover" (working title) will address some of the more colorful aspects of his life. You know, like the rumors that he was a closeted homosexual and avid crossdresser.

"Well, look who you're talking to," Dustin told PopWrap with a smirk. "I wrote the script ... what do you think?"

What I think is, this just got interesting.
