It's just surprising that in a public place, someone in the entire restaurant didn't call someone over to stop ten shoves,or the gallant BF himself didn't stop it, or take pictures or talk about it. If a tape does get out, you'd have to wonder if it was tampered with . . .

or the gallant BF himself didn't stop it

Well, according to the "gallant" drunkenstepfather (how's that for an oxymoron, lol) he wasn't even in the restaurant when all this supposed shoving took place - which begs the question as to how he was supposed to have "seen" it.

Jake Gyllenhaal Is All Smiles Following A Public Brawl In Canada…

Jake Gyllenhaal seemed to be in a pretty good mood when we caught up with him in Canada yesterday – where he’s filming his latest movie Source Code – despite the fact he was involved in a brawl in restaurant the other day after someone accused him of killing Heath Ledger *gulps*.
Apparently the incident kicked off after Jake made the fatal error of somehow offending a celebrity blogger while in a popular Montreal eatery, thereby prompting said blogger to shout out the remark: “isn’t that the guy who killed Heath Ledger?”

Although the blogger then tried to claim he’d actually said “kissed” and not “killed” (a claim which fellow restaurant-goers have refuted) this wasn’t enough to appease Jake, who was so furious he immediately ordered some bouncers to eject the blogger and his party from the venue – and who can blame him?

Still, Jake seems to have recovered from the incident now though, when we spotted him on a break from filming yesterday he was laughing and joking about with a dog – and having fun and frolics with a dog is generally the given sign for "I'm okay", don’t you know…

Then I would ask if DSF has any connection with Garde Manger - does he work there or does his GF, or a relative, or someone? The rich and famous have to always be en garde for unscrupulous types looking to make an easy buck. I wouldn't trust a tape that would make it to a gossip blog.

I love watching pr unfold. Jake's damage control team is on this. DSF, for all his blogging, is a rank amateur. His story is sunk unless there's damning footage, and there won't be (even if it exists).

LOL. Someone needs to tell "Mr. Paparazzi" that if he wants to pretend that "we spotted him on a break from filming yesterday," don't post pictures that have been all over the net for days now. He sounds about as smart as dsf.

Anonymous said...

Even if DSF story is true, Jake is not the first and won't be the last celebrity involved in a public fight.
Sure, his PR had to handle it but I don't think they are working overtime because of it.
Managing minor public scandals is like routine for this people.

If "Mr. Paparazzi" posting old pictures of Jake playing with Atti that everyone knows were taken before the incident is the work of Jake's "damage control" team, then he needs a new team, asap, lol.

What I can't get my head around is why a woman would let a guy allegedly shove her around ten times, and not get away from him after the first one? *shrugs*

and why wouldn't she sue him? i would. it just doesn't make sense, and i'm not buying into this anonimity thing.

i'd love for a tape to be there and put all of this rubbish to rest. i put my money on the "he didn't do it".

REESE Witherspoon behaves “like a schoolgirl” when she’s with new boyfriend Jim Toth.

Insiders say the Oscar-winning screen siren — who has previously dated actor Jake Gyllenhaal – could go the distance with Hollywood agent Toth.

“Reese is normally super-private about her love life, but she acts like a schoolgirl when it comes to Jim,” blabbed one insider.

“She has a spark with him that just was never there with Jake.”

“Jim is very steady,” the source adds to American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“He used to be a bit of a player, but he wants to settle down. And he’s had a crush on Reese for a long time!

“Reese also likes that he doesn’t go off for months to make movies, but still does extremely well for himself.

“Jim has money, power and connections.”

Reese also likes that Jim is good with her two children with ex-hubby Ryan Phillippe — Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6.

“Whenever Deacon or Ava has a school event, Jim offers to be there,” said the source. “Any guy who makes time for her kids wins high marks from Reese.

Girl Jake Gyllenhaal Pushed Interview of the Day

If you’ve been reading this site the last few days, you will know I had a little altercation with Jake Gyllenhaal that his people and the restaurant he was in are trying to make disappear. They’ve even sent the Jake Gyllenhaal fan club into my comments to defend his honor and take away my credibility….

They are trying to make me look out like a liar. They are threatening me saying the incident didn’t happen. They are saying I am trying to get publicity, but I didn’t have a fucking camera…my website traffic hasn’t gone up. I haven’t made money. The girl involved doesn’t want her name attached to something so stupid and my name is left out of 95% of reports and prior to this event I didn’t even really know who Gyllenhaal was or how to spell his stupid name…I didn’t even recognize him when he was in the bar until people told me who he was…I write about celebrity pussy not celebrity pussies….

I just went to a bar, made a comment and insanity ensued and wrote what I saw on my personal blog. I am allowed to write what I saw on my blog.

There was also no crime in what he did…people shove people in bars…that’s why there is no police report…we aren’t babies who really care that much about this and it’s not like he beat the fuck out of the girl or something we are trying to make into a bigger deal than it is, he just shoved her in his fit and I was mad that he made her cry so I hit my site.

Everyone loves him so much thanks to marketing but he throws down temper tantrums better than a 5 year old rich kid…believe it or not, what you see isn’t what he actually is…

I love that the mainstream media is saying “We have the real story” when not one person has asked me or the girl I was with what happened-they’ve just decided that it didn’t happen on their own…Maybe they’ve asked Jake’s People…or the Bar trying to protect it’s reputation….Bullshit….

That was until today….when a local blog interviewed the girl who got shoved by him….

Now, I am officially ready for this to die like it was Heath Ledger…It’s as boring as Gyllenhaal’s IMDB page.

^Jake Gyllenhaal altercation in MontrĂ©al restaurant– EXCLUSIVE HollywoodPQ!

As we announced earlier, Jake Gyllenhaal might have been involved in an altercation over the weekend, while he was at the restaurant Garde-Manger, in the Old Montreal.

We had the chance to obtain an exclusive interview with the friend of Jesus Martinez (writer of the blog Drunkenstepfather.com), who was there at the moment of the altercation, and who broke the story on his website earlier this week. The friend of the blogger, who wants to stay anonymous, shared her version of the story with us and answered a couple of our questions.

HollywoodPQ: Could you tell us what happened exactly?

Friend: My friend Jesus Martinez (Drunkenstepfather) and I were having drinks at Garde-Manger. There was only a few clients, it was very low-key, just a calm evening. Then, Jake Gyllenhaal arrived with a couple of his pals. He had so many bottles at his table, and he was very loud, dancing on his seat and laughing with his friends. As if he was putting on a show, acting out more than everyone would ask for. It really stood out in the calm of the restaurant. My friend (Jesus Martinez) went to Jake and told him something. He suddenly got up and started screaming, waving his arms around, telling my friend to leave. The staff of the restaurant then escorted him outside. I got up and went to Jake to tell him to calm down. All of a sudden, he started screaming, two inches away from my face: “Who are you? Who do you think you are to tell me to calm down?” and then pushing me. I fell on a table and started crying… After all, i just wanted to tell him to calm down! One of his friends took me apart, saying than it wasn’t a good idea to tell him this. I left right after, as the staff was asking me to leave anyway.

HollywoodPQ: How do you feel now?

Friend: Well, it was just a bad experience…

HollywoodPQ: Do you regret having talked to him?

Friend: No. I think if an actor goes out in a public place, he has to expect having people telling him things. It’s not as if he’s on a movie set, where everyone who works for him are being nice.

HollywoodPQ: Are you going to press charges?

Friend: No. For the same reasons that I want to stay anonymous. It’s a bad memory, but I have a clean name and I want it to stay that way.

HollywoodPQ: On the blog Drunkenstepfather, the lawyers of Jake Gyllenhaal asked for all posts about the incident to be taken down. Also, the actor’s friends and the restaurant’s staff deny what happened. What do you think about that?

Friend: Of course they’re going to deny! It’s frustrating that we don’t have pictures. It all happened very fast. For those who saying that this story is a publicity stunt, i don’t see how that would be the case… My friend blogs on what he sees. If he sees someone fall in the street, he will write about it. Same thing goes for an actor throwing a fit in a restaurant.

HollywoodPQ: Thank you very much for your time. Out of curiosity, were you a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal before this incident?

Friend: Well, i saw a couple of his movies… He looks like a nice guy, so i kinda get why people would be shocked about the incident. But it really happened!

What a story! Well, let’s say that if the girl wasn’t a fan of the actor before, there is certainly no way to convince her to become one now!

Blogger's cruel remark about Heath Ledger angers Jake Gyllenhaal

Pencils out. Time for a quiz.

If Jake Gyllenhaal walked into a restaurant you were patronizing and started eating, drinking and dancing with friends, would you:

A) Steal surreptitious glances at the actor while leaving him alone to enjoy his night out in peace?

B) Walk up to him and say a quick and friendly hello, let him know you admire his work, and then leave him alone to enjoy his night out in peace?

or

C) Ask the girl sitting next to him (loudly enough for Gyllenhaal to hear, of course): "Hey, isn't that the guy who killed Heath Ledger?"

Fortunately, most people would probably fall in the A or B camps. Hard to believe anyone would choose C…unless you've been to a certain blog lately. We're glad to say we'd never even heard of this blog before this whole ugly story erupted. But just one quick visit, just one read-through of one post (while trying to tune out the pornographic images that flash and jiggle from the margins), was enough to convince us that the guy who writes this immature, raunchy, homophobic, resentful drivel is more than capable of striking such a low blow. (It's telling that the guy behind this blog probably would take all those adjectives the previous sentence is loaded up with as a great compliment).

By now you've probably heard what happened in Montreal last Saturday night. If not, old reliable Ted Casablanca provides all the sordid details here. We won't dwell too much on those details here. We don't want to give blogger guy any more attention than he's already received, add even one more minute to his allotted fifteen (which we hope are pretty near to expiring by now).

We'll just say that we shouldn't be shocked that people can stoop so low, but we still are.

Remember those early days of internet chat forums and comment boards, when cultural observers opined about how the anonymity of the internet allows people to let their worst instincts rule unchecked and unfiltered, gives them the gall to post thoughts "undercover" that they'd never dream of expressing to someone's face?

Well, it seems that some people now carry their "troll"-like tendencies with them into real life after they've logged out of the chat room. That face-to-face proximity no longer deters them from spouting whatever mean-spirited thoughts spring into their mean-spirited minds.

Either that or they've stopped regarding any person in the public eye as anything but public property. We've never bought into the illogical premise that just because someone has the talent and so chooses to answer the artistic calling to become an actor, they suddenly become public property and forever forfeit their right to any semblance of a private life. That they become regarded as almost abstractions instead of human beings, who have no right to feel hurt or anger at any random snarky comments or cutting remarks we might choose to make about or to them, either in print or in person.

Both of these new ways of thinking have apparently bred aggressive, no-holds-barred creatures like the now infamous blogger, who can almost glibly approach a famous person out for a night on the town with friends and verbally ambush him with a cruel, hurtful, childish remark about his friend who has died, without feeling even a tinge of shame afterward. Then to top it off by adopting a posture of mock incredulousness when his "innocent comment" causes the distress and anger in another human being that he full well knew it would.

Only the people who were there at Garde-Manger that night know whether Jake Gyllenhaal actually laid a finger on anyone. But from what little of Gyllenhaal's character we're able to discern from the modest exposure we've had to him and his work, we'd say there's a pretty good chance that what his rep said about him is true: "He would never harm a woman, or touch a woman in anger. Such behavior is not only criminal, but personally abhorrent to him."

If the fool who hurled that beyond-the-pale remark at Heath Ledger's friend (and Matilda Ledger's godfather) got only a few choice words from Jake before being extracted from the tense situation by bouncers, then we'd say he got off pretty easy, that he came out of this encounter pretty much unscathed.

Sadly and unfairly, a lot less so than Jake Gyllenhaal, which is how these situations often seem to play out.

I think Ted refers to a scandal in the news: the drunkenstepfather incident

Sorry but I have no idea how you connected a marriage breaking down because one partner is cheating (with a tattooed stripper Nazi) and Jake having a bad tempered encounter in a bar with a stranger. Jake's incident in no way even came close to being a large general news item like Bullock's; he might get a mention or two in People or Us Weekly and it's doubtful that Grandmas in the neighborhood would be aware and discuss it unlike SB's predicament. Right now in the media and general consensus "Bullock" means breakup. While it's good to throw possibilities and ideas into the ring, frankly I think the people who agree with 8:48 AM that TT is going to pull a Bullock, are fooling themselves into thinking that it doesn't mean an affair or a breakup; how dare Jake and Austin breakup - it's unthinkable! Well guess what, welcome to the real world.

Anonymous said...

why would you go back to someone who you claim was having a temper tantrum

Exactly. Plus why would she have thought it was her right/responsibility to go up and tell Jake to calm down? He doesn't know her, she wasn't with the restaurant management and Jake was with his group of friends. Her role was to be accompany her friend/bf The Asshole outside, not try to make quick friends with Jake or be his fucking therapist.

Also what I want to know is why she said she's not going to press charges and wants to remain anonymous because she doesn't want to "sully" her name. WTF?! If an incident was true and factual and if you believe the law is on your side, what's there to sully?! IMO she's a fucking asshole liar just like her deranged buddy.

He Said, She Said: Did Jake Gyllenhall Push A Girl?

Looking at these pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal at the Academy Awards it's hard to imagine him pushing around a girl. According to Dunkenstepfather.com that's exactly what the Brokeback Mountain star did during a recent visit to Montreal.

When the website's blogger, Jesus Martinez, and a gal pal of his went out to a restaurant their dinner was interrupted by the loud entrance of Gyllenhaal and his crew and thery were continuously distracted by cheers from fellow dinners and Jakey dancing around on a bench. The blogger, irritated with the star's self-satisfaction, says he went up to one of the celebs female entourage and said "Hey isn't that the guy who killed Heath Ledger..."

Next he claims that Gyllenhall got in his face and started screaming and swearing at him saying "I will break you." He thought it was funny, but was escorted out by the restaurant. His female friend stayed behind and tried to talk to Gyllehaal but says she was shoved against a table by the actor. In an exclusive interview with hollywoodpq.com the friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, says she is not going to press charges, but insists the star got in her face and pushed her so that she fell on a table and started crying. The restaurant staffers, who deny the incident, asked her to leave.

Look at pics of the 3, Jake is usually looking at Boo adoringly and petting him while ignoring Atticus, WTF? I was reading recently a vet column and a question was what the best gender combo to have when you have 2 dogs and the vet said absolutely have opposite genders. The older one will already be the "alpha" gender of their dog pack in the household and bringing in a new dog of the same gender spells trouble because they will compete and possibly fight for the top position. Bringing in a new dog with the opposite gender is better because they will each be the alpha dog of their gender in the household. I always wondered if this was the problem with Boo, if Atticus and Boo fought, if Jake had to give him to a new home or if Atticus maybe injured him.

Sheridan talks about Jake/Jake's character in Brothers: WDW

From DVD and with Jim Sheridan's commentary:

Walking in the prison: 'You see what I mean about Jake? He has a different aspect to Tobey, he has a different DNA structure. It was his idea, actually, to go to the jail and it changes the movie.'

Grace gives Tommy the bad news: 'It's a difficult part for [Jake] in the movie. I think he's really good in this scene. He never does the same thing twice, thanks be to God. I know that would drive a lot of directors crazy, but for me, it's kind of like... I think me and Jake occupied the same kind of space on the set, where we both wanted to be the centre of attention. So early on I was kind of in conflict with him - who's the most anarchic, I suppose.'

'Jake is very smart about what you might need and he would do shots like that or he would ask me if he could do a shot in the prison, or walking along, or in his room, or lying on the bed, whatever. Stuff that seemed so incidental but is very useful when you're editing. If he wants to be paid about a quarter of what he gets paid as an actor, he might end up as a director one day.'

The kiss scene: 'I think when we shot this I stayed on Jake for hours with the camera, like where he wouldn't do anything after Natalie left. And I suppose the mags were ten minutes long and sometimes for four or five minutes nothing would happen until eventually he kind of broke down, crying, and got upset. So you never know what's going to happen.'

Towards the end of Brothers, Jim had to work with the material he had of Jake because 'I don't think he had a moment, Jake, before he went on to the other movie.'

'You kind of look forward, I supppose, to where Jake Gyllenhaal will go as an actor. He seems to have a lot of possibilities.'

Posted on OMG by hiding-matter

I interpret "pulling a bullock" as going into hiding from the public eye and not facing the press. I was reading an article about Kate Winslet and they used “she pulled a Bullock” in the sense that she cancelled her public appearances in order to not face the press. Sandra cancelled all her premieres and talk shows in Europe to avoid talking to the press. In family tile’s case it could mean that the plans to be more open (as Ted was hinting lately) was changed into remaining in hiding from the public eye.

Ted plays with word and “Family matters” could be “matter” as a verb meaning “to be of importance”. ‘Family is important’. That could support the theory that they are going back to being protected in hiding from the public eye.

Let’s see what Ted says on today’s bitch back. I am sure he’ll include more hints.

This cryptic reply from Ted reminded me when he said Goose ‘wised up’ and many of us interpreted that they broke up and it wasn’t the case. Ted likes to tease and his wording is confusing on purpose. Also this came out of the blue as he was saying just days ago that everything is ok in his Toothy/Goose replies.

The only thing I could think that happened days ago was the drunkenstepfather accusation so this is why I think it could be related to that. Maybe Jake wants to avoid talking to the press about it.

Who knows what Ted "means" - he throws stuff out there that's purposely vague so people can't come back and tell him he was "wrong," plus it gets people talking. But I think it's a no-brainer that Jake will not be talking directly to the press about this. You don't need inside info to know that - just common sense.

Dear Ted:
How can you drop a bomb about our dear family Tile saying they are close to pulling a Bullock? but not actually saying why. It's not fair. If you break our hearts, please tell us what is going on! I hope whatever it is, that Toothy and Grey Goose stay together.

ITA. Publicists handle this sort of incidents, not the celebrity. Besides, there wouldn't be any way around Heath's name being brought up if Jake did decide to address this (he won't, just saying), a topic Jake won't touch.

LOL. This is ridic. Jake only asked that p.o.s. to be removed from the club/restaurant. (Which was the right thing to do). It wouldn't make sense if Ted was refering to the "woman pushing" (which probably wasn't the case anyway) either.

Jake will do that WonderCon event on April 3 and that is probably the only "press" planned for him in the next 5-6 weeks. So I don't think there is any possiblity of Jake avoiding the press because of the DSF incident.

Bust up is a violent quarrel. So these two questions that Ted put together, makes me think it’s definitely related to the drunkenstepfather incident. I think Ted is not talking about Toothy and Goose thinking about busting up, but about Jake’s incident (he thought about fighting back and almost did, but he didn’t, "a man who can hold his own" in Ted's words).

Family Tile “pulling a Bullock” then in this context means that this incident made Jake decide to stay out of the public eye.

Also notice that Ted links the two questions with a word that means the same in both replies: Bad ASS / BUM shell. Meaning Jake's fight incident and the Tile "bust up" are the same. BAD: the fight incident (Jake) and SHELL: hiding in a shell, protection. (family Tile)

Anonymous said...

Bad ass / bum shell

Another link between the questions is that the first one about Jake's incident is signed by "Sandy", so the Bullock/ 'busting up' reference in the Toothy question is related to the same fight incident.

Sounds like a good interpretation but doesn't make sense in Jake, Austin and BT's case - they are out of the public eye all the time.
Doesn't make sense in Jake's case either - in the last 4 months he did a bit of PoP promotion and that's it.

I didn't say it had anything to do with DSF's stupidity. Of course it doesn't. What I said is Jake will not talk about this incident nor should he (that's what he pays his PR team for) and Heath being tied up to the whole thing makes it even more unlikely for Jake to ever discuss it. This will blow over by the time he does promo for his new movie.

Ted was hinting that Toothy was considering being more open in the near future. Maybe this incident made him decide to remain closeted and keep family tile out of the public eye. Think that this incident was full of homophobia. It must have affected Jake. His first impulse must be protecting BT from this kind of things and that means hiding him.

Also, a pap agency is using old pics and spinning they are from after the incident, maybe Jake is refusing to be seen in public for a while and his PR needs damage control. Let's see what happens in the next days.

Anonymous said...

I agree. Plus, from how the incident has been described, it's not like he quietly sat back and "asked" that dsf be removed. It sounds like there was quite a commotion, cursing, shouting, etc. I'm not saying that is necessarily "impressive" to me - but I can see how some might see that as street cred.

People may disagree with me but Jake playing with his dog after the incident could be true. The pics with the article did not say they were taken on the day they were speaking of, neither did the pics have a date with them. In other words the pics could have been used as an illustration of Jake playing with his dog, not as journalistic evidence of the period of time they were talking about. It's common to assume that accompanying pics similar to the article's topic or a reference within it were taken then but it's not always true. In fact more pics are used as illustrations than not IMO. I just want people to be aware of it, it's not always spinning or a coverup.

That's not the kind of reasoning PR would use. It's always better to lay low after this kind of stuff - his PR knows that the media is looking for any kind of "Jake sighting" more than ever now and a sighting would only lead to tweets and pap photos and speculation that they can't control and it would contribute to spreading the story. PR is all about "controlling" how their "product" is viewed.

It appears the only place the story is going on is the blogs and Canada. When does Jake finish filming Canada? Once he leaves, so will the steam behind the story. There has been nothing on American TV about the incident. Appears the story backfired on the DSF, most people who follow blog seems to hate him.

Matt Bomer, star of USA's "White Collar," and Ari Graynor are in negotiations to join Anna Faris in the romantic comedy "What's Your Number?"

Mark Mylod is directing "Number," which is being produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of Contrafilm. The project initially was set up at Columbia, but in a rare move, the studio allowed it to migrate to Regency under the provision it get made within a certain time frame.

"Number" centers on a woman (Faris) who treks through her sexual past to find Mr. Right, exploring the idea of sexual quotas and whether such numbers matter. Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan wrote the script based on Karyn Bosnak's book.

Bomer will portray Faris' dream guy, and Graynor will play her sister, whose wedding serves as a backdrop to much of the proceedings. The movie, which also counts Chris Evans in its cast, shoots this spring. The movie's makers are hoping to populate the cast with high-profile cameos.

Howard K. Stern has disappeared into the ether and then Chris Brown seamlessly stepped into the role of A ASSHOLE. He’s held up the title admirably this past year, but who is the successor to the puckered brown crown? As it turns out, it might just be Jake Gyllenhaal. According to Drunken Stepfather, Jake G was in a restaurant in Montreal and responded to a dig by shoving a lady. In an interview with Hollywood PQ, the shovee in question says:

"My friend Jesus Martinez (Drunkenstepfather) and I were having drinks at Garde-Manger. Jake Gyllenhaal arrived with a couple of his pals. He had so many bottles at his table, and he was very loud, dancing on his seat and laughing with his friends. As if he was putting on a show, acting out more than everyone would ask for. I left right after, as the staff was asking me to leave anyway."

The restaurant and Gyllenhaal’s team of minders are denying anything happened, but come on, who are you going to believe? Some random woman who has nothing to gain? Or Bubble Boy? One is rakishly handsome and won the hearts of Kirsten Dunst and Reese Witherspoon along with the beating center of America, the other is French Canadian. I rest my case.

P.S. A ASSHOLE

That’s a sleepover outfit, non? Reese Witherspoon stepped out with her boyfriend Jim Toth yesterday to hit up the supermarket dressed very casually in sweats and uggs just 2 days after her birthday and a weekend with him in Ojai, no kids. Cosy.

The two apparently stocked up on some wine and snacks.

Yeah, I remember those days. Reese is IN LOVE. Or she’s not averse to you thinking she’s in love which, in their world, is kinda the same thing anyway. This is not a dumb blonde twat. This is a celebrity very much in control of her image, who generally makes smart decisions. It took her forever to get here with Jake Gyllenhaal. And only 2 months or so to arrive at the same place with Jim T.

So yeah, either she’s in deep sh-t with this man or she’s making a point. Or both. And just a few weeks before Jakey has to start promoting Prince of Persia.....

Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly got into a wee bit of a bar tiff over Heath Ledger recently.

Rumour has it the man behind the NSFW blog Drunken Stepfather saw Jake in a pub and said to him:

"Hey isn't that the guy who killed Heath Ledger?"

Jake then apparently told the bouncers to, "get this guy out of my face".

The blogger and his buddies were promptly thrown the heck outta there. The mystery man has since tried to backpeddle on the comment, insisting he said "kiss" not "kill" Heath. But those who heard him say his excuses are a load of crock.

Interesting 'Is "Men's Health" really a gay magazine?' DL comment:

'I have a friend who works there (straight guy) and he says they know their audience is really two audiences: gay men and would-be bodybuilders...many of whom like to look at pictures of other men's bodies.

The challenge, apparently, is making it gay in a way you can't quite pinpoint if you're straight -- therefore making it OK for straight-identified muscleheads to look at nearly naked men.

So: no shirtless men on the cover (straight men won't buy it on the newsstand) UNLESS there's a woman posing with him.

At least one feature in every issue about improving your sex life with your girlfriend.

Put a girl in a photo layout every once in a while so it's not all just beefcake from start to finish (they do the same thing in the supplement ads)

The editorial imperative is basically to make it as gay as possible without letting straight guys figure out what's going on...or to at least let them lie to themselves.

More stuff...He said they get complaints if they run pictures of female bodybuilders (the kind with popping veins and masculine muscles)...but they also get calls and letters if a layout is "too gay."

Oh, and one longtime subscriber writes them letters every couple of months accusing the editors of "trying to make him gay." But he never cancels his subscription.'

That happens when the magazine comes up with an article that complicates stereotypical women's magazine offerings — such as "Why Women Are Leaving Men for Other Women" or "Comedian Carol Leifer's Midlife Surprise" (she fell in love with a woman, too). Am I really seeing this, and am I seeing it here?

My latest O double-take was set off by the article "The One" by Allison Cooper — about her "falling in love with a transgender man." I checked the front cover (above). Yes, this was O, featuring an unexceptional women's mag theme: "Real Love: Are You with Your Soul Mate?" There was no other exclamatory headline to tip off readers–no "Ciswoman Falls for a Trans Man!" Nothing to hint that queer content would be folded in with the typically heterosexual/gender-normative fare.

I assumed that author Cooper would bend over backward to make the case that she and the man she loves are just like everyone else, that she would assume the bland, homogenizing tone of assimilationists everywhere. But, in fact, she's quite open about how the very concept of "normal" can limit individual freedom:

Normal has never been too kind to women, to children, or people of color, people mired in poverty, anyone different in any way. Normal is good for no one, really. It is a lie we all decide to believe–after even the most cursory look, no one is actually normal; it is a plastic bag we wrap around our own heads.

"I'm not against marriage, but it's just not for me. I'm a vegetarian, but I don't have a problem if you want a hamburger. Marriage to me is like eating meat. I think it's gross and [bleep]ing crazy. [Because gays and lesbians can't get married in most states], if you're getting married today, it's the equivalent of joining a country club that doesn't allow blacks or Jews." — Sarah Silverman. Truth, Lies & Ted: Trashy Lingerie Edition!

I think it's time to let go and forget about this embarrassing incident. Jake probably moved on already and is concentrating on way more important things.

Ted's video - Heath's shades in the video are cool. He had the best collection of shades, he even wore them indoors for whatever reason. LOL.

Nobody wanted to read about it to begin with!

Awww, that was a sweet clip of Jake and Heath - they were so proud of that film, you could see when they panned the audience. :)

Women Find 'Feminine-Looking' Men Most Attractive!

Not to be confused with sickly women liking masculine men, mind you. "Women have a soft corner for feminine-looking men, suggests a new study, which found that ladies find males with higher arched eyebrows, smaller jaws and large eyes most attractive. Therefore, "Women perceive feminine men as honest, kind and even as good parents. So it makes good sense that women find these caring and sharing men attractive when thinking about a long-term partner."

Jake looks pretty darn awesome in that video and he sounds so darn sweet.

And yeah, 04:40. He pings big time in this video.

Moderator - please fix the blogger software. Newest does not take you to the most recent posts!

It's a daily revelation to see how many times I can click "Newer". If I hit newest and then click Older, it doesn't work for me. So my index finger gets a nice little workout.

LOL 5:29 AM, a frau is a homophobic straight woman who desperately believes and wants her (gay) idol to be straight. There's no one here who's a frau unless you count yourself and babblers.

Why the duplicate tweets: Death by Analog is a band, Driss Skali is one of the members.

6:04, the definition of frau I was referring to, is the internet insult version. Which is how it was used by 4:40/5:29 AM. You need to get a clue.
