What part with Britney? Britney was at the AKT premiere? I remember video footage of him and Brit when he was at the MTV awards promoting FF with Kate Hudson. She passed Heath and someone asked her if she knew Heath and she said something like yes, he's cool. Heath had a buzz cut as far as I remember.

I posted on DL several times quite a few years ago that it was common knowledge in the circles around Ricky that he was gay. My cousin is a close friend of one of Ricky's closest friends, and it was well known that the girlfriend was for public use only, although she was a close friend. He kept a condo for his then boyfriend in San Juan. This was in the late 90s/early 2000s. I haven't seen or spoken to my cousin in a few years, so I don't have any recent news regarding Ricky, and what I wrote above only came up in passing not as part of a conversation regarding Ricky.

What happened was Brit walked past as Heath was being interviewed. The interviewer noticed and called to her, "How cool is this guy?" She said over her shoulder, "He's REALLY cool." Heath paused with what he was saying, sort of chuckled and mumbled thanks. lol, poor guy, he was terrible at stuff like that.

I think you are mistaking Heath's awkwardness and ineptitude with press/publicity for a desire to disassociate himself.
Heath was tremendously proud of the movie. He revered Ang. Annie Proulx's story was also personal for him. He modeled his role on a friend and family member, a gay uncle who'd been disowned by his father. Heath said about BBM, “We didn't make the film for any kind of political movement. We never expected to change people's minds; but if it does affect people's hearts, if perceptions can get altered, that's a good thing."
He also didn't distance himself from Jake at all, unless making someone godfather to your kid is distancing. (Jake has made no equivalent demonstration of his regard for Heath, nor has he addressed his death. So does that mean he is "distancing" himself from Heath?)

Thanks. BBM shooting started May 2004 and lasted for about 3 months. And he dated Dunst at the time. They did break up during BBM shoot, but hooked up again shortly after again.

I do believe in gaydar. Is it 100%accurate, no, but most of the time it is, even with all the metrosexuals running around today. What has changed is that it is no longer enough to make a decision based on just the clothes or grooming, unlike in the past.
For example, just this weekend I was dining out, and a guy sat down at the table next to ours. He was wearing a fomr-fitting black and white checked shirt, with some embroidered white flowers up near the shoulder region. Tight black jeans. Very well groomed and super clean. And yet there was something about him that said "straight" to me. Couldn't put my finger on it. And sure enough, a few minutes later a very pretty female date showed up.
Now, there would have been a time when those clothes and that much attention to grooming would almost automatically mean "gay", and on a quick glance, a lot of people might say thsi guy was gay. But it is no longer enough to just look at those more superficial details, and on a closer look it was just seemed to me he was straight. The facial expressions, the mannerisms, the overall body language, something I couldn't put my finger on. And in this case I was right.

Destiny, that doesn't prove that you were right and that the man was straight. He could be bisexual. He could be in the closet. He could be a male escort that the woman had paid for. Jake Gyllenhaal is a great actor, but he's never opened a movie on his name in his life. He's also never played an action hero before, but that's his calling in "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." This Memorial Day weekend he'll face off against a proven quartet of women led by Sarah Jessica Parker in "Sex and the City 2." Now, there is no way Disney isn't going to wage a huge marketing campaign to keep producer Jerry "Pirates of the Caribbean" Bruckheimer happy, but it may not be that easy.
The first "Sex and the City" made what was considered an astounding $57 million in its first three days because of an incredibly passionate fanbase. Throw in that fourth day on the weekend and things get very interesting.. If "Persia" is lucky (and the buzz is questionable), it will do anywhere from $50-60 million over the 4-day, similar to other May releases "Mission: Impossible III" and last year's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." Yep, we're betting the female audiences of "Sex" conquer the holiday frame, but it should be close.

Ledger said his uncle’s difficult early life and tough personal experiences helped him forge what is being acclaimed as one of the strongest and most emotionally powerful performances in recent cinema history. In the film, Ledger's del Mar is tortured by the decades he spends hiding his love for another cowboy, played by Jake Gyllenhaal.
"I had a dear friend of mine, who's my uncle," explained Ledger. "He's a big guy. He goes to bare-knuckle fighting out in the Nevada desert, and he's gay."
As a young man, Bell was told to leave home by his father because of his sexuality and, many years later, he told Ledger of some of the painful events in his life. A high school friend messaged me on Facebook last night. She'd been so angry back in 1984 when Menudo replaced Ricky Melendez -- who had grown too old -- with that too-young looking Ricky Martin. But she stayed loyal and became a fan of the new Ricky. She even tracked me down in the 1990s to catch up after years -- just to tell me Ricky had been cast in 'General Hospital.' And why not? Ricky had become part of the family and we have to keep up with our family, after all.
Ricky Martin coming out is, for many people, like having a friend or family member come out. "Gay" isn't an abstract to them anymore, but the kid you knew when you were 14. The power of Ricky's celebrity status makes fans understand gay people differently, too.
Two weeks ago, iconic Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio, who has sold millions of albums worldwide and whose songs are staples in jukeboxes in Mexico, announced that she would rather a child starve to death than be raised by a gay couple in response to marriages of same-sex couples in Mexico City. Two weeks ago, there was no word, image or story to contradict Senora la del Barrio in Spanish-language media -- just abstract stereotypes about being "gay."
Today, our friend Ricky Martin, who we Latinos have known since he was 12, is that face – a gay man who is the father of two sons. He is the face of all those people Senora la del Barrio was attacking. Her job isn't so easy anymore.
Ricky coming out is a game changer for many gay and transgender Latino children, who for too long have not had many out gay people to look up to. It's also a game changer for their mothers, aunts and grandmothers, who were once teenage girls screaming at Menudo concerts. They now have a face to the word "gay" and know a father of two who just happens to also be gay. As more and more people get to know gay and transgender friends, neighbors, family members and celebrities, they come to know that our community wants the same things all people do: to be accepted, valued for our contributions and equal chance to raise our families and take care of our loved ones.
It's true that Ricky is far more popular in Spanish than in English, and that his coming out will reverberate through Latin America. But it is no less meaningful here in America; a singer who has sold millions worldwide in English and in Spanish, one of People's Most Beautiful People in the World, a father of two, a proud Puerto Rican man who just happens to be gay. For all the boys and girls struggling to find the language to tell their coming out story for the first time, it just became that much easier. Thank you, Ricky!

So if Ricky could come out of the closet so successfully, why are Toothy Tile and the like afraid to admit they're gay?
The big thing to consider is the difference in their careers. Is it easier for musicians to come out than for actors? The answer seems to be an overwhelming hell yes.
In the past few years, Adam Lambert and Lance Bass have come out of the closet to join the ranks of Elton John and Melissa Etheridge as established musicians who succeed despite their sexuality. Ellen did it, as well, but, she's in that safer zone of comic/TV personality, Ã la Rosie.
As for Hollywood leading actors? Very few stars—bar Neil Patrick Harris and Meredith Baxter—have come out within the past year. And don't be fooled, these two (as well as many in the past) didn't come out exactly willingly, but were outed by the media.
Ricky definitely deserves props for coming out before he was forced to do so—no matter what goss or speculation existed about his sexuality, he chose to reveal his personal life. Yet, even despite being a musician and not a movie star, R.M. already had an established career and enough money to rest on comfortably—let's keep that in mind.
At least Adam pulled the revelation stuff from the get-to, pretty much.
T2 and other D.L. dudes like Crotch Uh-Lastic, Crescent Kumquat and Judas Jack-Off are in the primes of their careers, where the perks of being honest about their personal lives don't come close to trumping their career fears—especially when people still claim gay actors can't be convincing playing straight roles.
I don't want to put a sour note on Ricky's coming out, but sadly we're still a long way from H'wood feeling comfortable enough to be gay and damn proud of it.
Until then, Toothy and his cohorts will remain trapped in their closets—and in their Blind Vices. Not a perfect scenario, sorry.

ADR
Dubbing is the post-production process of recording and replacing voices on a motion picture or television soundtrack subsequent to the original shooting schedule. The term most commonly refers to the substitution of the voices of the actors shown on the screen by those of different performers, who may be speaking a different language. The procedure was sometimes practised in musicals when the actor had an unsatisfactory singing voice, and remains in use to enable the screening of audio-visual material to a mass audience in countries where viewers do not speak the same language as the original performers. "Dubbing" also describes the process of an actor's re-recording lines spoken during filming and which must be replaced to improve audio quality or reflect dialog changes. This process is called automatic dialogue replacement, or ADR for short. Music is also dubbed onto a film after editing is completed.
