Friends with PR Benefits

Dear Ted:
We get it, Jen Garner sucks. Onto more important things... Toothy Tile! Could you please run down the "And it's not..." list for me. After all this time, I am getting hazy on the Un-Toothy Tiles. My guess for T2... Matthew Broderick.
—Jen, Iowa

Dear Too Much Toothy:
Toothy's much sneakier than lame-ass Broderick. As for the list, check out the Internet. I do believe someone out there's been keeping track.

Dear Ted:
Is Toothy Tile Viggo Mortensen? You mentioned Lord of the Rings in one of your responses about a Toothy Tile guess.
—Cheryl

Dear Connection Failed:
Not the Lord of the Homo we're looking for dear, sorry. Think younger, less real-life brawny.

Dear Ted:
Love the new format—Monday mornings not so much, the yellow hurts my eyes. Toothy Tile has to be Matthew McConaughey. He has that "trying too hard" macho vibe. And the baby mama was a pragmatic career move.
—Groutless in Toronto

Dear Macho, Macho Matt:
Matt's more Hickville than Gayville, sorry. But at least he's not Toothy, I'll say that much.

Dear Ted:
Kindly please replace your word of retard to peabrain or D.D. (Delbert Dumbutt) or something that is decidedly less targeted to a group of people who already got the shaft in life; the mentally retarded. I love you, baby! I'm just defensive about the term since my son is high-functioning autistic. Now get a move on with some serious gossip. BTW, is Hillary Clinton Toothy Tile? Thought I'd have some fun today!
—Mckinn

Dear PC:
Noted, but don't go too Tropic Thunder on my ass and take it with a little bit of humor (I get your point, though), just as I am with your BV guess. It's good for the chuckles, but Hil ain't your man.

Dear Ted:
Does Toothy Tile know he's Toothy Tile in your Blind Vices? I've always heard that people in celebrity camps scroll blog sites (just to make sure they're getting talked about, of course). Just wondering if his people have figured out you're talking about him.
—Brg4Eyes

Dear Eavesdrop:
Toothy knows, alright. That's why he loves to do his out-me mamba all across T-town.

Dear Ted:
You mention that Colin Farrell has been in a "family twister" Blind Vice and that Toothy Tile is "less brawny in real life." You also have said that there is a Baby Tile, and Colin has a kid, does he not? Is he Toothy?
—AJ in Columbus

Dear Jigsaw Jumbler:
It sounds good on paper. But in reality, C.F. is as hetero and horny as they come.

Dear Ted:
Are the And It Ain't choices (1) always (2) sometimes or (3) never themselves the subjects of other Blind Vices?
—Barb

Dear Multiple Fess:
There is a golden ding showering you behind Door No. 2, darling!

Dear Ted:
As much as I wish Toothy Tile was in actuality Sarah Palin's husband, I have convinced myself it is Hugh Jackman. Yay or Nay?
—Katy

Dear Wishful Thinking:
Nay. Almost, but not quite.

Toothy Tile is Jennifer Garner. Enjoy your column...can't agree with you on your politics. God bless America and God bless you!

Dear Ted:
Are Clay Aiken and his baby son Toothy's boyfriend Gray Goose and Baby Tile?
—Jane

Dear Too Obvious:
Toothy's lover isn't coming out anytime soon.

Dear Ted:
Now that Sophia Bush is single and working on One Tree Hill with three of her ex-boyfriends, Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty and Austin Nichols, do you think she will start dating one of them again? I hope she goes for Austin. I liked them together.
—Paula

Dear Ex Factor:
CMM is out, fer sure. He can maybe hope for some hate sex, but that's it. I think Bush should even the scoreboard and go for Benji Madden. Thoughts?

Dear Ted:
Could you tell us more about Toothy's boyfriend? He is half of the most intriguing and beautiful Hollywood gay closeted couple and the other daddy of Baby Tile. Don't you think he deserves more attention from you?
—April

Dear Man Hunt:
No, but his abs surely do.

Dear Ted:
I called in sick today and said I was deficient in my Vitamin T—OK, that was cheesy, but I think I deserve for this question to be printed since I risked my livelihood over it! Have you and Mr. Tile ever done the nasty (prehubby, of course!)? I reread some entries and you two sure seemed a little flirty a couple of years ago. And, who is hotter, Toothy or his BF? Is Mario Lopez his lover?
—Thrasher

Dear Bedroom Boinked:
In order: No. Yes. Neither, I like men, not little beautiful boys who still retain a tad of privileged baby fat. No.

Dear Ted:
Recently you said 1 in 10 people in Hollywood were straight. You must be including behind-the-scenes creative folks, agents, producers, etc. In terms of actors/actresses, what is the percentage that is straight?
—Cupcake in Cincinnati

Dear Left Brain:
One in 25. Make that 100.

Dear Ted:
OK, so Clay is gay. Big whoop...file that reveal under No Merde. Quick question, though…Has Clay ever been a subject of one of your Blind Vices? If yes, which one? And yes, I know he's not Toothy Tile.
—Jen

Dear Aching for Aiken:
Clay is far too dull for our sexy Vice archives.

Dear Ted:
The mags have been pushing the Reese-Jake romance for over a year now, but neither will confirm or deny the rumors. What’s the big secret?
—Mallory, Conn.

Dear Cladestine Couple:
Those two are just friends with benefits. The benefits, of course, meaning publicity.

Toothy Tile is Mario Lopez because of his toothy grin, dimples, fab shape, perfect abs, consistent seemingly gal-chasing ways, and hanging out with BFF so often but that easily jealous husband of BFF is never jealous of Mario. That's the biggest giveaway. Right, Ted?

Johnny Depp created a great character for PoTC.

What about Indiana Jones? Harrison Ford isn't a great actor, but he was/is the right actor for the part.

Anonymous said...

8:28 AM, well you should tell that 11:00. If a performance is good it doesn't really need awards to prove it's good. So many great, iconic performances didn't win awards and so many "so so" performances did. Of course there are many performaces that deservedly won awards.

Harrison Ford was Indiana Jones. Mophead Jake will never embody PoP in the same way.

Jake got his chance, we'll have to wait and see.

Well, according to the report from that extra that filmed in Morrocco, he said the sets were huge, the movie had alot of sword fights, time travel and cool special effects. He then went on to say how Jake was taking his role very seriously, perfecting his English accent, wanting the story to come through. So basiclly, Jake is acting ernest, trying to bring an emotionally serious prince (it sounds like to me) and the movie sounds like it should be more tongue in cheek. Look at Johnny Depp in POTC, his Capt. Jack was fun, not trying to win an Academy Award.

Madeleine Albright Responds to Palin 'Women Going to Hell' Remarks

At a rally on Saturday, McCain running mate Sarah Palin misquoted former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as she played the gender card, referring to her Starbucks mocha cup while attacking women who refuse to support the Republican ticket.

Said Palin: "I'm reading on my Starbucks mocha cup, okay? The quote of the day... It was Madeleine Albright, former Secretary of State [crowd boos] and UN ambassador. ... Now she said it, I didn't. She said, 'There's a place in Hell reserved for women who don't support other women.'"

Albright responded: "Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics. This is yet another example of McCain and Palin distorting the truth, and all the more reason to remember that this campaign is not about gender, it is about which candidate has an agenda that will improve the lives of all Americans, including women. The truth is, if you care about the status of women in our society and in our troubled economy, the best choice by far is Obama-Biden."

This Fall's Best Flicks for Cash, Gossip and Gold

We're finally beyond the flak of summer movies, and just over the hump of September dreck—it's finally time in movie land for all the big guns to come out. We have the audacity—the nerve!—to peek into the future to pick which flicks are gonna be the most successful, but we're not just talkin' money-wise. Here are our bets for which fall films are gonna rake in the dough, which are gonna sweep the Oscars and which are gonna be smothered in butter-flavored gossip (dee-lish!):

Biggest Box Office

High School Musical 3: Senior Year: It's as popular with young audiences as Harry Potter but without the magic. Or subtlety.

Twilight: Surprise, surprise, another teen-favored flick based on the popular book series about vampires. This one's for all the goth 'n' emo kids out there who can't stand the cheerful cheesiness of HSM.

Quantum of Solace: Only James Bond could beat tween-centered fall treats, since the franchise's main fan base is grown men with spy fantasies (and grown women with spy fetishes).

Most Awards

Milk: Historical drama with a gay slant. Count this as retribution for that Brokeback Mountain slight back in '06.

Revolutionary Road: Despite the title not being Titanic 2, we think this fab Kate-and-Leo reunion will spark enough buzz to roll them both into the Kodak's carpet without anyone seeing anything but the damn trailer.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: At this point, Cate Blanchett prolly has it written into her contract that she be given Oscar nominations. And Brad Pitt playing an old man to a baby, or a baby to an old man or whatever the ef is going on in this movie, is one more addition to the risk-taking roles he's been taking recently. His baby mama, on the other hand...

Best Gossip

Changeling: Sure to be A Mighty Heart 2, meaning Angie's lips will eclipse any sort of brava performance she'll prolly give. This babe can't fully disappear into a role even when it's CGI.

Rocknrolla: Anybody know what this is even about? Except that Madonna's husband is directing it? Thought not. Sorry, Guy, you reap what you marry. Expect the peak of your movie's reviews to come at the premiere, focused on what Madge is wearing, if she even shows up.

Valkyrie: Tom Cruise's remarkably good press on Tropic Thunder may come to a screeching halt—or not. But we'll be there either way. Mostly 'cause we're madly curious just to see how hilarious a pic with Hitler in it can get. Aren't you?

If Reese knows about Jake as Ted claims, and they are just friends, then why would he be "busted" caught by Reese? If they are just pals then she shouldn't have been shocked.

And when did this supposedly happened? ON set???

Anonymous said...

There's 2 reasons that the Jake getting busted rumor is not true. #1-There is absolutely no way that for the almost 2yrs of Reeke that Reese didn't know Jake digs guys. #2-Jake's been out of the country since mid-June. When did she bust him with another guy in LA? If it happened before he left LA, why wait 3months to break up.

Anonymous said...

Jeez, they're not breaking up and he's not cheating with another dude. Don't believe every crap you read.

Anonymous said...

Jake is "cheating" with a dude all the time.

Anonymous said...

I think they read breaking up rumor (Perez's post) and concuded that Jake being gay is the reason.

"We have a friend who has a friend in the L.A. gay community" = we know Jake is gay.

Anonymous said...

It would be different if that was posted befor that story appeared in the Star, not after so it's just someone adding their 2 cents to the break up rumors.

And you are right, if Reese knows than, duh? And when did it allegedly happen? In L.A.? He has been out of the States for months. And If it was overseas then it's more BS, not with Disney looming.

Ah, the internet, so much entertaining fan fic.

They are saying Reeke is breaking up because she found out Jake is gay.

(It doesn't mean that winning performance isn't great too - there is no way to be objective, you can't measure and compare.)

Well, Tell this to the teenagers who constantly try to compare Jake's acting ability to Heath's or anyone else to make him seem inadequate, on a (Jake site). And don't bring the childish, we can talk about his faults, when Some others faults (May not be spoken about). Ridiculuous at best. Is this because he has not come out? Let the guy be.

(Jake has always relied on his looks and doe-eyed earnestness for his roles. That's not going to work for him anymore. He's too old and his looks have changed too much for him to pull it off.)

Thank goodness you were not on the voting committe. The guy was nominated at many awards shows, he won at the Bafta's. Ok! What is it that you don't get? I'm sure you want to take that accomplishment away from him.

Even your 12 years of youthful prettiness will fade.
It happens! If you live long enough you will be in for a rude awakening. Let's hope you have something to fall back on.
Come on, I'm ready for the babbler comment. Truly Childish...

Anonymous said...

But I thought that Reese already knew that he was gay according to Ted? At least that's what he implied in one of his letters asking does she know ALL about Jake, hee.

She has known from day one, this has benn going on for how long? And the reference mentions nn timeline true, so when did she find out? Last week? Last month? 4 months a go? Last year? Gimme a break, she knew while she was still married to Ryan I bet.

So by your logic they have not had sex since they got together, that should have tipped her off, or that he is BI and was doing her and men and she found out.

Reese ain't naive. If they do break up, it won't be because he got "busted", unless he promised to be good and didn't and I can't believe Reese would tolerate that.

The blogger needs to be a bit more original like she caught him with a a5 year old girl.

I don't know about that, but I know that babblers believe tabloid stories and Internet rumors only if they like them.

Anonymous said...

He hasn't changed, he's still beautiful. You need to ask yourselves why you need to criticize someone so much, someone who has nothing to do with you, and probably doesn't care what you think, at all. It's a waste of time. It's one thing to not like a film or a role, but only the very deluded would call tearing someone down criticism.

Anonymous said...

Trolly, is that you again?

Anonymous said...

No. :P

Anonymous said...

Voicing your opinion about someone is not the same as tearing someone down. You think he's more beautiful than he used to be. I don't. You might want to ask yourself why you care so much what other people think about Jake. He's nothing to you and he doesn't care at all about what you think.

Anonymous said...

The reason I care is it's boring, tiresome, and brings the blog down. And you may want to broaden your horizon a little - I was speaking about the general tearing down of him, not just the sentence above about his looks. The general all consuming tearing down that isn't normal.

Details' Gayness Increases Tenfold With Gossip Girl Cover

This here website (among many others) has been asking the same question for years. Is Details magazine gay? I mean, yeah, they pretty much are with all their fancy fashion ads and fancy men who are always gracing the cover. This month's bois are the dudes from teen soap Gossip Girl, and look! The cover is eerily similar to the fellas' Out cover appearance from back in March. (Heck, when New York Magazine featured the show, they included the ladies.) Note in these two gayish covers that resident twink Chace Crawford is sandwiched in the middle on both. Heh. Subtle. Click for larger comparison.

10 Years Ago Today, Matthew Shepard was Beaten and Left to Die

It was ten years ago tonight, on the night of October 6, 1998, that Matthew Shepard was beaten by Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson and left to die tied to a fence near Laramie, Wyoming. He died five days later, on October 12.

This morning, Judy Shepard appeared on The Early Show to discuss the progress that has (and hasn't) been made since Matthew's murder. Wyoming still does not have a hate crime law that covers sexual orientation.

Said Shepard: "I'd like to say yes it surprises me, but no it doesn't."

Ennis didn't know about the accident for months until his postcard to Jack saying that November still looked like the first chance came back stamped DECEASED. He called Jack's number in Childress, something he had done only once before when Alma divorced him and Jack had misunderstood the reason for the call, had driven twelve hundred miles north for nothing. This would be all right, Jack would answer, had to answer. But he did not. It was Lureen and she said who? who is this? and when he told her again she said in a level voice yes, Jack was pumping up a flat on the truck out on a back road when the tire blew up. The bead was damaged somehow and the force of the explosion slammed the rim into his face, broke his nose and jaw and knocked him unconscious on his back. By the time someone came along he had drowned in his own blood.

No, he thought, they got him with the tire iron.

"Jack used to mention you," she said. "You're the fishing buddy or the hunting buddy, I know that. Would have let you know," she said, "but I wasn't sure about your name and address. Jack kept most a his friends' addresses in his head. It was a terrible thing. He was only thirty-nine years old."

The huge sadness of the northern plains rolled down on him. He didn't know which way it was, the tire iron or a real accident, blood choking down Jack's throat and nobody to turn him over. Under the wind drone he heard steel slamming off bone, the hollow chatter of a settling tire rim.

'Cowboy' Takes Iris Prize

On Saturday, German filmmaker Till Kleinert's Cowboy won the sophomore Iris Prize for best gay short film.

The second annual Iris Film Festival, set in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, showcased thirty gay and lesbian short films from around the globe, but Cowboy walked away with the £25,000 ($45,000) award.

In Kleinert's Cowboy, city dweller Christian comes to a deserted village where he meets a country lad with whom he spends the day and night. When harvest starts at dawn, the village shows its real face and the two men are forced to pay a terrible price in order to leave.

U.K.'s Queer As Folk writer/director Russell T. Davis announced the winner at the three-day gay film festival.

“Cowboy is a fantastic film that captured the imagination of the jury and the general public. Till Kleinert is a huge talent. I'm so excited that he will return to Wales to make a new film with his prize,” said festival organizer Berwyn Rowlands.

Drew Barrymore: Obama Made Me Cry

Drew Barrymore told the November issue of Bazaar that Barack Obama made her cry.

"When I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was profound to have someone be sensitive to that. That's the kind of world I want to live in, where we're not holding our own principles in judgment above someone or against someone."

She added, "It's the first time I've really admitted I'm a Democrat." She also calls Republican candidate John McCain "is a good person, and he does care, but he has voted against things that are shocking as far as people's liberties and economic choices."

On Sarah Palin:

Wow!

Johnny Depp is the highest paid star

Disney recently announced that Johnny Depp will be returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 4: The World’s Most Unnecessary Sequel. This caused a lot of comment that the third instalment of the series wasn’t very good, and that he should be moving forward, and is selling out. Everyone has their price – is yours more than $56 million?

Johnny Depp has struck gold by landing £32million ($US56million) for a fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean adventure. The bumper cheque is the highest up front pay-out in movie history. It smashes the £29m ($US51million) paid to Tom Hanks, 52, for the Da Vinci Code follow-up Angels & Demons, out next May. And it means Depp will leapfrog Will Smith into top spot on Hollywood’s rich list when he reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

A movie insider said: “It’s a hell of a lot of swag for one movie but there’s only one man who can play Captain Jack Sparrow – and that’s Johnny Depp. “Pirates just wouldn’t be the same without him, so they were more than willing to smash the record books to land Depp again. “He’s been the star of the show every time.”

Daily Star

Johnny Depp deserves to be one of Hollywood’s highest paid, I’ll go see anything with him in it, and although I’m sure I’ve seen Pirates 3 and have absolutely no recollection of it. While the salary reports surfaced in the sometimes unreliable British tabloids, I’d have to say that the figure is not unfeasable. There is no movie without Captain Jack!

I also can’t believe that the prequel to The Da Vinci Code is being made, considering how awful this was, and that Tom Hanks is being paid $51 million. The Dan Brown books are just too complex to translate well to the big screen, and I’d have to say that Tom Hanks was too old for the first film, let alone a prequel! Then again, if Harrison Ford can play Indiana Jones in his 60s, I guess Tom Hanks can play a university professor at any age. My mental image from reading the books was of a man about ten years younger than Hanks though.

The highest paid actor ever is, a little surprisingly, Keanu Reeves, who reportedly made $200+ million for his role in The Matrix, based on a merchandise ands sales agreement. Many stars make money from these kinds of deals, and take a lower salary than they might be worth. HollywoodToday.net has a breakdown of how this works, and suggests that Johnny has made almost $150 million from the previous three Pirates films using this system.

Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley have both indicated they’d like to move away from the series, but if Disney thinks the films, which grossed around $3 billion at the box office, have more life in them, I wonder what their price is? And will Disney be willing to pay it? It’s an awful lot fo buried treasure (I couldn’t resist a little pirate reference).

You might want to ask yourself why you care so much what other people think about Jake. He's nothing to you and he doesn't care at all about what you think.

^^ you can ask yourself this also.
He's nothing to anyone of us. Your need to tear someone down Constantly, and as if you really know what is going on in his life is scary. Don't try that BS on me. Almost a year of bitching about Jake, Reese, bearding, he's not a good actor, he's lost his looks etc. etc. (LOL) and for What? What is he to you? Why do you care. Ask yourself, WHY are YOU here? Please. lol Let's see, are you upset and need to take it out on Jake. And, before the (babbler children) start yelling and covering their ears, and eye, I do believe Jake is bi or not completely straight, but so are so many other men. big deal! And, I beleive he is Ted's ToothyTile.
Anyone who does not constantly ridicule Reese or Jake is called a fangirl, PR, or babbler.

And "YOU" Do? WoW

Oct. 4, 11:52am Your assesment is just a valid as the Austin is the lover scenerio. I have always believed this also. I also believe Jake may have been with both of these guys at some point. JMO My gut feelings tells me there is more than meets the eye with Jake and Chris. I really feel that Austin is out of the picture now, but if he is not and still in Jakes life, good for them.
It's just a fact, that some will lose their minds if it were someone else Jake was with than Austin.

I don't need to ask myself anything - it's not just Jake, talking about anyone the way he's ripped to pieces on here is not something I would do to anyone, I try to respect people. It makes no difference whether he cares or not, I just wouldn't treat anyone like that, nor waste an inordinate amount of time obsessing about them too much. It's obvious by your sentence that you don't consider actors and entertainers to have feelings, just some sort of outlet for your disappointments.

I believe the caught in the act story. Why? Gemma has said she is one of the few women on the entire set. Jake must be like a kid in a candy store. All that temptation.

You can't convince me that Disney did not extract some sort of promise to be good from Jake. 1. Bacause they are spending a fortune to straighten out his image. 2. Because if he gets caught, it looks bad for Reese. She looks complicit in the lie and I am sure that was not part of the bargain. Knowing someone is gay is one thing; seeing them in the act is a different story.

If its true, word will get back to Ted and he may mention it. He has always said that Toothy will be his own undoing because he cannot change his nature.

Prince of Persia Takes Tip from Pirates

If there is one thing that Disney has learned from Pirates of the Caribbean is that a film has to have a proper, evenly cut mixture of fun and adventure. Even when the film is at its most thrilling, be sure to leave some fun hanging around and you can get away with almost anything. Disney is hoping to recycle this logic for their upcoming adaptation of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Prince of Persia To Float on Pirates Formula

The good people at MTV Movies Blog caught up with Jordon Mechner (screenwriter and series creator) to discuss the direction Disney and Bruckheimer are going for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. His answer doesn't exactly surprise us.

"Prince of Persia” isn’t just going to be like “Pirates” in terms of scope and tone, the newest Disney/Bruckheimer tag-team is actually going to “do for Arabian Nights movies what ‘Pirates’ did for pirate movies,” screenwriter and series creator Jordon Mechner told MTV News. Slated for 2010, the film will star Jake Gyllenhaal as the iconic video game character.

“This is how we pitched it to Disney and Bruckheimer – as an old-fashioned swashbuckling action-adventure in a tradition going all the way back to the Doug Fairbanks movies. The modern equivalent being ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ an example of an old movie made new again, doing a fresh take on it for a modern audience,” Mechner said. “Tonally, I’d say it’s basically ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ with maybe a half-step towards ‘Gladiator.’”

The trick, as pointed out by Mechner, is finding the proper balance between fantasy and reality. Well that, and keeping Jerry Bruckheimer's explosions at bay.

The movie is based on the classic Lewis Carroll story, and will be made using a combination of live action shots and performance-capture technology, says the paper.

Johnny Depp will star in the film as the Mad Hatter, and Mia Wasikowska will play Alice.

'Alice in Wonderland' is scheduled for release in March 2010.

Reese, Jake going strong

Scandal sheets report the usual ups and downs, but friends think it'll last -- and they're house hunting

The romance between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal is taking the usual roller coaster ride in the celebrity press. First it was all hush-hush. Then the stars were photographed holding hands, then joined by Witherspoon's kids, and finally looking romantic in various spots around the globe. Now comes the supposed ''rift'' in the relationship being trumpeted all over the Internet and the supermarket checkout counters.

Don't believe it.

A source at a top London real estate firm tells me the couple (looking ''very, very much in love'') recently was scouting posh apartments and town houses in London's posh Mayfair neighborhood, where the prices are among the most expensive in the world.

''Reese was extremely concerned about security issues,'' said the source. ''She seemed to particularly like places where they could enter and exit not directly onto the street. ... That's not always an easy thing in Central London, especially Mayfair. But we were able to come up with a couple of places both she and Jake seemed to like.''

Gyllenhaal has been putting in months of long days -- both in Morocco and in London -- on ''Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,'' due out next year.

While Hollywood friends close to both actors admit maintaining a long-distance romance has been a strain on the couple, a longtime buddy of Gyllenhaal's insists the relationship will last. "I am convinced they will eventually marry ... and I really think it will be for good. ... I know we're talking about Hollywood stars, but these two have something special."

I'm very curious to see how far they are going to go with this fauxmance. I also come here because I don't have to oooh and ahhh over Jake to post here. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing much admirable left about him.

And one other thing, I was quoting your previous post when I asked why you cared so much and that Jake didn't care what you thought. I was quoting you. Guess I was too subtle for someone who can only see the "beauty and good" in everything. While the rest of us are laughing, I bet you're one of these people who are appalled by SNL's portrayal of Sarah Palin.

He hasn't changed, he's still beautiful. You need to ask yourselves why you need to criticize someone so much, someone who has nothing to do with you, and probably doesn't care what you think, at all. It's a waste of time.

I don't know where you went to journalism school, but I was taught that a quote is word for word what someone said, not twisting the words around. Sorry, I forgot, you are tabloid reader. They twist the facts around and present it as their version of the truth. No, you are not subtle; just sadly obvious.

I don't support Sara Palin, but I'm laughing and appalled by what you call subtlety. It's delusions of grandeur. Anything else to address? :)

"I think the house hunting bit comes from the ‘Properties’ section of the British “The Times” newspaper. There was a small article this past Sunday about Jake’s strict security and privacy requirements to rent a house in London. It said he was so specific and obsessive about security and privacy that although he had a good weekly budget from the PoP production, it had been very difficult to find him a home that suits his demands. Among the things mentioned was a garage that is connected to the inside of the house and three bedrooms. They searched in Mayfair, Soho and Notting Hill. The article assumed his requirements were for when Reese and the kids visit him. It didn't specify if they found the house for him or not. Also, the article had mistakes. For example it said he was moving to London FROM December."

Sara Palin is in an entirely different category than Jake. She's a political candidate; if she gets elected, her views would have long-range effects on people's lives. She's put herself out there for criticism, there's a long standing tradition of parody and poking fun at politicians. I don't think actors fall into the same category; they don't have the same level of obligation to the public as a politian does. SNL's parody of Sarah Palin was light-hearted and all in good fun, not vicious. It's the degree - I don't agree with Sarah Palin's vies at all - there's nobody running who's more diametrically opposed to my views, I don't think - but I wouldn't resort to vicious, personal attacks at her. I'd keep my criticism to what it is I don't like and agree with about her views.

Same with Jake. Believe it or not, I don't agree with everything he says or does either, but I won't resort to the degree of visciousness by some here. Let's face it, it's not about his looks, what has people upset. What's changed, other than the possible relationship with Reese? I'm dismayed by that, but I'm gonna wait and see what happens. I still think he'll surprise us, in a good way. He's still the guy who affected us all so much in Brokeback Mountain, making a big statement in his own way, that a lot of actors in Hollywood were to chicken to do, as macho as they appear on the outside. :)

Leonardo DiCaprio Has 'No New News' About Marriage

Leonardo DiCaprio would love to get married someday – but has no immediate plans to walk down the aisle, he told PEOPLE at Sunday's Manhattan premiere of his new spy thriller, Body of Lies.

In a widely quoted interview last week, the Oscar-nominated actor – who since 2005 has been dating Israeli model Bar Refaeli off and on – said he wanted to get married and have children, sparking a slew of media reports saying he's ready to settle down and start a family.

Clarifying his remarks, DiCaprio, 33, tells PEOPLE, "It's silly. I was asked whether I believe in the foundation of marriage, and I said, 'Of course I do.' I think it's a great thing. I absolutely believe in it and I will, but I have no announcements." Bottom line: "There's no new news, is what I keep saying."

Queen Latifah

Alex Witchel wrote an extremely thorough profile of Queen Latifah for the New York Times Magazine, in which we discover that the woman who is a Grammy-award winning singer, Oscar-nominated actress, management-and-production company mogul, CoverGirl developer and model as well as spokesperson for Jenny Craig is also unfailingly polite and amazingly down to earth.

The piece does touch on her sexuality, and The Queen says: I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life… I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway." [NY Times]

Sorry. We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl. They don’t get it, he doesn’t get it” — she gestured upstairs, toward Compere’s office — “nobody gets that. i just think it's sad. if she's been with her partner as long as people have said she's been with her (10 years), i think it's fair to call them a family. i don't think anyone should be so private that feel like they have to hide their family.
---
Look, the black community is much more homophobic than other groups, so people within it who declare they are gay face far more hostility.

That said, I still don't have any time for closet cases who parse their answers and dance around the truth. I also think the media should not protect her. Speculating about whether or not someone is gay is not libel. This is just more gossip -- if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen ... and get married to a nice man. =P
---
Being honest about the simple FACT that you're gay isn't giving anyone access to your bedroom.

I was reminded of this recently when a friend brought up meeting Johnny Mathis. Johnny Mathis has been a singing legend since forever. A good number of years back he acknowledged the fact that he was gay. Very simply. Very straigthforwardly. There was no invasion of his bedroom, nor were there any "scandalous details" of "his secret gay life." As a matter of fact there hasn't been any scandal about Johnny Mathis EVER And this goes all the way back to the dawn of time when everyone knew perfectly well that he was gay -- but unlike Clay Aiken a singing genius. Had there been any scandal you can rest assurred "Confidential" magazine -- which was blatantly racist -- would have had screaming headlines about it. But they didn't. Why? Because Johnny Mathis led a private life.

It's not hard to do, people. He was, after all, a singer. Not an actor. Not a "personality." All he did was sing (beautifully) and nothing more was ever asked of him.

Such sad self-loathers on here crowing on about how Latifah's gayness should be off limits. Pathetic. Dana perpetuates the myth that there's something wrong with being gay each and every time she refuses to acknowledge it. No, she's not legislating against gay equality but she's a sad head case nonetheless.

True and unfortunate for both sides.

Jake has absolutely no compelling emotional, professional or psychological reason to return to the US for more than a few days until mid-Feb. 2009.

Anonymous said...

Why until mid-Feb. 2009?

Anonymous said...

The Academy Awards fall on Sunday, February 22, 2009. By late Feb., Jake will probably reappear in this country for an extended period of time. Right now, he has no life to return to in the US.

Nothing.

Does he have a life in London? Does he have a life?

O this is so depressing. I may kill myself.

Anonymous said...

Of course Jake has life and people to return to in US!

He could go to Martha's Vinyard, hang out with Chris and visit Maggie.

Anonymous said...

He could hang out in Iceland with GOG.

Anonymous said...

Oh poor poor Jake. lol! If he's unhappy it's his own fault. He could live a very happy and successful life out of the closet.

Deceiving others. That is what the world calls a romance.

Dear Ted:
You so often told us that Toothy Tile knows he's Toothy and that he's proud of it. What about Gray Goose, is he a proud one, too?
—Robert

Dear Smile Like You Mean It:
Hardly. Grimacing through it all.

Dear Ted:
Who is the most loving, sweetest and hottest hubby: Toothy's or yours? Is Baby Tile old enough to walk?
—Grace

Dear Tile-icious:
Mine. No.

Dear Ted:
If Jake and Reese are just PR buddies, then as far as I can tell, he hasn't dated anyone since he broke up with Kirsten Dunst back in 2005. Is he that picky?
—Jill, M.E.

Dear Dump or Dunst:
Maybe he didn't date KiKi, either.

That whole privacy argument is just pathetic. And funny how people are happy to talk about other aspects of their so-called private life. Queen Latifah talked about her parents and her brother in that interview, and of course Andersen Cooper talked about everything under the sun when it comes to his family, except for his own sexuality. Writers shouldn't let them get away with that argument.

Ted, Ted, Ted.

I can't make up my mind. I cringe when I hear "you don’t get that part of me", but, at the same time, I don't think Queen Latifah or any other celebrity should lie or come out just because it's the right thing to do.

"He could go to Martha's Vineyard, hang out with Chris and visit Maggie."

He *hardly* spent any time with the aforementioned people while he was in the US early this year, and none of them visited while he was Morocco or England. Why should he return to the US to see them now? And if the reports are correct, he doesn't even have his own place, and therefore his own life (ie. real friends and family, not industry flacks or the beard) in LA either.

Jake stripped his life down to practically nothing when he started bearding. There's little left of his life in the US now. He has no compelling reason to return for the time being.

Anonymous said...

And what does he have in England? Even fewer friends and family. What about Atticus? Guess he's not much of a pet owner either.

Anonymous said...

It's interesting that everyone here knows for sure he's bearding when it's only Ted C. who claimes Jake's TT. Perez, Lainey and others who insinuate that Tom and other Hollywood A-list biggies are gay, always say Reeke are for real. Doesn't it make you wonder? I think some here really want him to be gay. It borders on obsession.
I don't care if you call me babbler or troll. I'm neither a big Jake nor a Reese fan.

Anonymous said...

Perez used to call Jake gay until he started getting hit with a bunch of lawsuits for using photos without permission. At that point he started towing the line and got into bed with the publicists to make some money. Perez sold out completely. Lainey is a joke. She has no real HW connections.

Anonymous said...

You can't know that and there is no reason to presume it. Paparazzi pictures show us very small part of his life.

Anonymous said...

^Lainey's HW connection is Perez

Anonymous said...

Ok, I just hope you all won't be too disappointed, you waisted your time and energy and then everything Ted said turs out BS and Reeke are still a couple 10 years from now with a child of their own.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't it make you wonder?

NO.

We are Jake's fans for years and some of us have followed this sad Reeke sharade since 2006 - that's almost 2 years od Reeke bullshiting.

John Travolta is still gay as a goose.

Anonymous said...

^^I doubt Travolta's fans really expect him to come out. On the other hand, Jake fans obviously do.

Anonymous said...

No, I just expect Jake to stop bearding.

Anonymous said...

LOL @ 4:55. If he's gay he won't stop bearding til he's 80, if he gets that old. In a couple of years he'll start a family, it'll be either with Witherspoon or another woman.

Anonymous said...

It's interesting that everyone here knows for sure he's bearding when it's only Ted C. who claimes Jake's TT.

One more time.
We don't need Ted to tell us Jake is bearding, we have pictures. We are sure because we're longtime fans and because Jake isn't very convincing.

Ent Lawyer and Michael K claim Jake is bearding too.

Anonymous said...

LOL @ 4:59 PM

Must be fun to see future like that. Can you see lottery numbers?

Anonymous said...

I think some here really want him to be gay. It borders on obsession.

Maybe. Just don't forget that fangirls really want him to be straight, they are equally obsessed with Jake is straight notion.

Anonymous said...

We don't need Ted to tell us Jake is bearding, we have pictures.

Pictures? OMG, some fans are just hopeless. I'll give up. Continue with your fantasies about a Hollywood star. W/O them it'd be boring anyway.

"Guess I was too subtle for someone who can only see the "beauty and good" in everything. While the rest of us are laughing,"

No, you were not to subtle. I see good and bad in most everything, however, I just can't see a reason to tear a person down so much. Another human being with thoughts and feelings just like you. If one does not like what they presume Jake is doing, why not just forget about him and move on? Why wish and hope for the worst for him. The thing is I or you really don't know what's going on with this guy for sure. I happen to think Jake is bisexual and can and will have dealing with women occasionally or most of the time. If he chooses a woman or a man, it's his life. It would be wonderful if his choice was Chris or Austin but if he chooses someone else, there would still be no reason for me to be mad or upset unlike some posters here. Life is too short for this BS!

(I bet you're one of these people who are appalled by SNL's portrayal of Sarah Palin.)

Wrong again. My friends and myself love Tina's dead on portrayal of that woman. Tina and Sarah are both halarious and I can't stop laughing. but,, Tina's job is to be funny, and Tina is not running for the second in command for this country, Sarah is! OK

The last time I thought another politician was that funny was George Bush 2. You do the math.
