Looks more and more like that's going to happen, going by the incredible hype for Anne going on at various sites (not only Jeffrey Wells'). A lot of the hype is by a busy promoter named "tiffany p" - "Anne Hathaway is the most charismatic American Actress in her age group” - who hates Michelle Williams. I smell a babbler, though why they aren't pushing Jake is beyond me.

Literally every awards website I go to has someone who is hyping this movie’s “test screenings”, knowing the exact dates and locations it took place and apparently knowing how successful it went.
I have never seen a movie’s test screenings used so much to hype a movie.
Is the studio sending people to websites to do this? I am being completely serious here.
I have to imagine there are several other Oscar buzzed films having test screenings now. And yet I don’t see them mentioned in the comment sections at every awards website and IMDB.

Wise studio strategy for a Jerry Maguire-type movie that's a crowd pleaser but with little original artistic value. Why risk criticism from semi-pro film bloggers and cinephile types? Better to hold select screenings in soccermom America where this kind of uber-straight, cliche story plays best.
Hype says LAOD has a standout performance by Anne, just like JM had by Cuba Gooding Jr. (and Renée Zellweger, too). Anne is the HW homecoming queen, someone said on another site, and I think that will translate into a quite a few votes for her, especially if she truly is good in the movie.
Tough for Jake, though.

IMO advance "buzz" about someone getting a nomination is SOP by the producers and PR. A LOT of actors are sold as "an Academy award performance" early in the awards season, the same way Anne is. And yes - the public as well as the industry (Variety as an example) are the targets. You watch, I bet after noms are done no one will be gushing over LAOD and Anne. It's all promotion.
