*Not going to mention that Godfather thing.* There's no way to know if they are still in touch and they probably won't talk about it either.

I'm sure Jake is in touch with Michelle and Matilda.

Brothers press conference
JG: I can say that in researching the character that I played Jim and I went to a lot of different jails all over L.A. County and to juvenile halls and what happened totally, separately from the movie, I met these kids in this writing program at this juvenile hall and they were extraordinary kids. I mean if you want to get into politics we can talk about the kids that I met in this juvi. One of them that we met was this incredible storyteller that Jim ended up putting in the movie as one of the guys in the helicopter with Tobey. I have never been to the prison system, particularly in California or any place really, to see young men. This is a whole other type of young men being put in jail and to see how extraordinary many of them were and how many of them would never get out, that was an amazing thing. It was terrifying. Fourteen year olds to 18 year olds. I still go back to visit them. I still go back to that writing program because they’re pretty extraordinary kids and many of them have moved on, but they’re still coming in. We should think about that, too.

Not doing a very good job includes saying they were just friends in a an interview about a month before we got pictures of them together for what appeared to be mostly OTH promotion, and the lack of arranged pap photos while Sophia was in LA over the holidays.

Still have my doubts as to whether Austin was even in LA at all over the holidays. That woman who tweeted about seeing him there has not tweeted since the end of the year. She only has 18 tweets in all, with most of those coming on Dec. 27, the day she supposedly saw Austin.

And people ask why some of us think twitter is not always the gospel truth.

Anonymous said...

I don't keep up with OTH gossip but is there any chance Sophia is actually still with James Lafferty? They were keeping their relationship secret until her ex (Chad Michael Murray) "accidentally" spilled the beans in an interview...

Mike Fleming and I have just confirmed that Sony Pictures decided today to reboot the Spider-Man franchise after franchise director Sam Raimi pulled out of Spider-Man 4 because he felt he couldn't make its summer release date and keep the film's creative integrity. This means that Raimi and the cast including star Tobey Maguire are out. There will be no Spider-Man 4. Instead, Mike Fleming is told, the studio will focus on a Summer 2012 reboot from a script by Jamie Vanderbilt with a new director and a new cast. All this took place today at meeting on the lot today. An official Sony Pictures news release is out now (see below).

Alan Cumming, who recently became an officer of the British Empire was asked if his husband gets to add an O.B.E. after his name as well now. Cumming said, "I think that's really interesting; but if you're a mixed-sex couple, if one is knighted, the other becomes Lady something, and I don't think there is an equivalent for the man. So I was thinking if it was, say, Sir Brian and Lady Fiona, you become that. But if it's two men, what does the other one become? Or if it's two lesbians, Dame somebody - Dame Lesbian, and what's her girlfriend called, or her partner, or her wife? I think it's an interesting thing about etiquette, if there's sort of a new, uh, thing in the British etiquette system." [N.Y. Magazine]

In the PC straight male world, guys make jokes about gayness all the time when the subject of the joke is suposedely not gay at all. It works like this: straight friend makes joke about Jake being gay, everybody laughs, including Jake.Jake demostrates that he can laugh at it because he is very comfortable with his het-sexuality.
I does work really! But it fails very sadly when the guy is truly GAY.

How about this scenario - Jake's straight friends can make jokes about Jake being gay because he is very comfortable with his homosexuality?

9 Actors Who Could Replace Tobey Maguire in the Rebooted Spider-Man said...

Tobey Maguire was very nearly replaced in Spider-Man once before when he balked at making the second film, forcing Sony to line up Jake Gyllenhaal as insurance. Still, we can’t recommend that Gyllenhaal get excited by today’s news that Sony will be recasting Peter Parker in the next installment, as the studio’s intended high school reboot will almost certainly limit its potential casting pool to actors 18-25. Who’s got the inside track, then? Movieline’s gone ahead and picked out nine young thespians whose spider-sense should be tingling right now.

Bradley Cooper Embraces The Gay Rumors

B. Coop thinks it's absolutely fantastic that people are saying he let Victor Garber tickle him in the pink (he bleaches) back in the day. In case you're just joining us, there was a blind item floating around that many (including this bitch) thought was about Victor Garber and Bradley Cooper.

B. Coop, who is currently starring in Reese & Jakey: The Sequel with Squinty Zelleger, told The Independent (via DS) that he has nothing but laughs for that rumor, "People thought we were dating. It was all over the internet. It was the first time I read a rumor like that about me, and I just thought it was fantastic."

Yes, I'm sure the thought of Victor Garber dick-tapping him on the nalgas made Bradley laugh for hours. Bradley laughed until a wave of saliva poured out of his mouth onto his chest....and then Bradley kept laughing. Bradley had to pinch his nipples to try and stop the laughter, but it didn't work at first. So Bradley continued to laugh laugh laugh away while pinching at his wet nipples. Bradley laughed, pinched, laughed, pinched, laughed, pinch, etc.. etc.. Finally, after Bradley had no more laughs to give, he excused himself to change his panties in the bathroom.

I found this from May 2007:

"Bradley Cooper split from his wife Jennifer Esposito according to TMZ.com. The two had only been married for 4 months. One unsurprised onlooker says, ”Bradley Cooper is gay. He was gay all through college and he’s gay now. He had no business marrying a woman. I’m truly shocked he went through with the farce.”

When Bradley was on the ABC show ‘Alias’, there were rumors that he and co-star Victor Garber were much more than co-stars. Filth2Go.com had a very naughty blind item about the sexy twosome:

Could it be that the end of a romance also means the end of a job for that hunky heartthrob? So say my undercover spies at the soupy network, who tell me that the affair between the scruffy scamp and the song-and-dance man came to an abrupt end when the smooth operator’s spousal-equivalent found evidence of this illicit match. Since someone had to go, the bedazzled boy was out the door before he could say “Au revoir.” But that door is not quite locked – we’re told that the older gent holds the key. Look for the tyke to make the occasional return in a reduced capacity – both professionally and personally. Sometimes you gotta stop fiddling around."

Back then, a television adaptation of "Fiddler on the Roof" was in development with ABC, to star, you guessed it, Victor Garber!

Gyllenhaal sci-fi thriller to film at train station said...

OTTAWA — Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is coming to town in late March to film scenes for a big-budget science-fiction thriller at the Ottawa train station.

Gyllenhaal, from Brokeback Mountain, The Day After Tomorrow and the cult thriller Donnie Darko, is the star of Source Code, a thriller about a soldier who inexplicably awakens in the body of a commuter and is forced to solve a mystery about a harrowing train bombing.

Duncan Jones, son of music icon David Bowie, is the director of the movie, which is budgeted at about $35 million, according to press reports. Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley is believed to be in the cast, although the producers would not confirm it.

The Ottawa train station will figure prominently in the movie and was largely chosen because the architecture of the building has a "modern, futuristic" look to it. A production crew totalling more than 150 people may come to the city for at least four days of shooting in late March. The film's producers were impressed by the architecture of the station and how it fits the storyline of their movie.

Built in 1966 and designed by John B. Parkin & Associates, it won a Massey Medal for architecture in 1967 and was named by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada as one of the country's Top 500 buildings of the last millennium.

It's believed this is the first time a movie of this scale has been filmed at the Tremblay Road station. VIA Rail spokesman Malcolm Andrews said the station will not close during filming. "We just let them know what kind of hours they will be able to use it so it's not inconveniencing our customers or interfering with our normal train operations," he said.

The film will be shot mostly in Montreal, starting in early March. It is among a number of outside productions expected to revitalize the struggling film industry in Montreal. As well, it may help revive production in Ottawa, which also suffered in 2009. Roch Brunette, head of the Ottawa-Gatineau Film and Television Development Corporation, said outside productions always help Ottawa's film industry and bring needed revenue to the city.

Better news came with Sony Pictures Classics’ rather aggressive expansion of Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.” After two weekends of fantastic numbers in very limited release, Heath Ledger’s final film went from 4 to 552 screens, and saw a good - but not fantastic - result. “Parnassus” grossed $1,706,507 and nearly cracked the overall top ten, outgrossing a number of films (including “Nine”) that were on twice its screens. However, its $3,091 per-theater-average, while respectable, was certainly not ideal. Including its limited release, “Parnassus” has now grossed $2,105,637.

It's definitely a bigger success in the countries in Europe where it was released. I guess Terry Gilliam is not everyone's cup of coffee. ;)

He describes the moment his dad discovered him watching gay porn: "He just said to me, 'That's your business. That's okay.' He didn't make me feel ashamed for it, which is actually pretty amazing. That's a big deal, because that was a scary, scary moment. I was discovered. My secret. I don't think [my mom] was in denial at all. I think she always knew. When I was playing in her make-up drawer, that was probably a tip. And she talked to some people that she knew and the consensus was, don't push him. He'll come to you."

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Opens: May 28th 2010
Cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina
Director: Mike Newell

Summary: A fantasy adventure based on the popular video game. Set in medieval Persia, an adventurous prince teams up with a rival princess to find a time-manipulating dagger to help stop an angry vizier from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.

Analysis: Disney may be targeting families with its next Bruckheimer period action/fantasy potential franchise, but no single demographic anticipates this early Summer epic more than gay men. No matter which way he tiles his teeth, star Jake Gyllenhaal is to that demo what Robert Pattinson is to teenage girls - the unmatched pin-up fantasy and one of the leading causes of non-work/sport-related carpal tunnel syndrome.

Armed with about 20-30 pounds of extra muscle and leather pants, the first look publicity stills and set videos revolved entirely around him being shirtless. With films so often marketed on their actresses in tight bikinis, it's good to see a major blockbuster take a more equal opportunity approach - hell it's rare to see a studio confident enough in its star that they don't force him to wax his chest.

Yet no matter how you cut it, Jake doesn't look even the slightest bit Middle Eastern which has already drawn a lot of controversy. Together with a haircut and British accent that really don't suit him, the worry is that the whole thing simply will not work.

Not helping that belief is that action movies based on video games have all been critical pariahs and commercially only modestly successful at best. The closest example to this in terms of size and style are the generally derided "Tomb Raider" films which themselves were based around a star (Angelina Jolie) who perfectly suited the role - the script and direction just never came anywhere near close enough to support her.

This one has a strong pedigree at the helm in the form of director Mike Newell ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire") which explains why some of the visuals of the trailer looked quite promising. Ben Kingsley also seems well cast as an evil vizier.

Yet the script comes from two scribes whose only previous credits are "The Uninvited" and "The Great Raid", both of which were considered flops. Hopefully under Bruckheimer's guidance they've created something that works, either way Disney certainly knows how to market a property like this well. Could the doubts be disproven? I'll definitely give it a shot.

Wedding Bells for Sophia and Austin?

This is why we've become such Twitter fans—it makes our fave celebs that we gossip about totally accessible!

After bitching how I don't think either of the Supernatural boys, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, will walk down the aisle with their respective gal-pals any time soon, we got a lovely little tweet from Danneel Harris. Jensen's babe told us her wedding so is happening.

So I asked for a wedding invite, and also if we can expect her One Tree Hill bestie, Sophia Bush, to follow her lead and walk down the aisle with her costar and rumored BF Austin Nichols.

Here's Danneel's tweet back:

"Deal. S&A are a great team, always fun to be around. I'd be happy if they did."

Thanks mucho and how interesting! Except I hate to be the one to deliver you the Awful Truth, Ms. Harris, but I've heard that Austin may not fancy Sophia so hotly. But that's just nasty goss, usually the best kind.

After the douchiness of Chad Michael Murray, let's get the gorgeous Sophia a real guy for keeps, 'K? How about someone like Chris Pine? We think he's way more S.B.'s style.

Let us know your thoughts.

Oh, and btw, we're totally holding you to our deal, Danneey! I expect an invite and promise to make the hush-hush trek wherever you love birds host the ceremony...and not to kiss Jensen, at least not with tongue.

Can I get a plus two, though? Hopefully, then Taryn Ryder can bring Ryan Gosling, as she expects their first date to go really well (she thanks you in advance for making all this happen).

Kiss, kiss, girlfriend, superexcited, mean it!

The Not So Ugly Truth

As he takes on his second role as a gay man in fashion, Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie sets the record straight about his own life.
...
His Ugly Betty alter ego has become a byword for today’s confidently flamboyant gay man: Marc is very out at work, dishing out sassy sexual innuendos and flaunting a wardrobe that suggests he’s snatched up nearly every fabric Mood has to offer. In another scene he’ll switch gears, playing a surrogate big bro to Betty’s seemingly gay teenage nephew, Justin, as he copes with high school bullies. And Urie says his art is his form of activism: “Both Ugly Betty and The Temperamentals have given me a platform to help people see the world in a different way, and that to me is going to do a lot more than standing on a soapbox.”

Yet the actor has never openly addressed his own sexual orientation, going only so far as to identify himself on his website as “a member of the LGBT community.” Discussing The Temperamentals, he told The New York Times last June, “Playing a guy who is struggling with his career and his personal life is familiar to me, keeping your personal life to yourself but also being free and open to be yourself in the world.” At the time some said Urie was being disingenuous, that he was trying to have his cake and eat it too. If he can play gay advocate on TV and onstage, they asked, why can’t he share his own experiences with his fans?

“I’ve never been in,” Urie responds today. “I’ve never said I was straight, and I’m not saying I’m gay now. I never lie, and I’ve never shied away from the topic. I’ve certainly chosen through my work to do things that promote the rights of LGBTQ people. I am not a hypocrite—certainly not now.”

By this point Urie has already shown me a photo of the man he’s been dating for more than a year. After gushing over Sprouts, the Brussels Griffon rescue dog his idol and former Betty costar Bernadette Peters gave him last year, he eagerly whipped out his iPhone and showed me a pic of the dog and his boyfriend, actor Ryan Spahn, with whom he’s lived for several months.

When asked what letter in LGBTQ he identifies himself, Urie says Q, for queer.

“I’ve been in a relationship for a while now, and if you just met the two of us together we’d be ‘gay,’” he explains. “But that somehow means anything that happened before [we met] didn’t count—and I don’t feel that way. I know that some people feel that way. They were with women, but it always felt wrong. But it didn’t for me. It felt right at the time. It didn’t work out, but it also didn’t work out with other men—many times. That’s why ‘gay’ never seemed right.”

Michael Urie said...

Urie acknowledges that he was more guarded about his personal life at the start of his career, but now that Ugly Betty has found its footing (it’s now in its fourth season) and he recognizes he’ll never be the kind of actor whose career relies on his sex appeal with women, he’s ready to loosen his grip.

“Certainly there was a point where I was like, I don’t know how long Ugly Betty is going to last and how well it’s going to do, and I might want some real anonymity if it ends quickly. I was also never one to seek out publicity or attention, and I basically didn’t want to be labeled. That kind of attention could turn ugly. I guess if I wasn’t in a relationship with a man and I tried to tell people I was queer, it would appear to be a lie or a cop-out—à la college 10 years ago, when people believed in that notion of ‘bi now, gay later.’ But things are different now. I’m much more comfortable, and I’m in a relationship now. I’m not as worried about a future for myself.”

That said, Urie sympathizes with Rudi Gernreich’s decision to keep his sexuality under wraps to preserve his reputation, and he wouldn’t necessarily encourage young actors to divulge details about their personal lives even today.

“It’s a business of perception. My being perceived as queer is likely not going to affect the jobs I get, but with certain people it might. Coming out can ruin your career. My career is not based on people believing me with a woman. If it was, I’d be in trouble. If George Clooney came out, he’d be in trouble. Suddenly people would say, ‘Wait, he doesn’t like what I see him doing? Now I don’t believe it.’ When you have 20 people who have to agree to cast somebody in a role, a little thing like that could be a really big thing to them.”

Screen Story - Credit given to a writer who has written a screenplay based on another writer's work but has used the other writer's work only as a springboard, a characterization, an incident, or some equally limited contribution, creating a story that is substantially new and different from the other writer's work.

Screenplay - A script written to be produced as a movie. Normally between 90-120 pp.

Script - A written work detailing story, setting, and dialogue. A script may take the form of a screenplay, shooting script, lined script, continuity script, or a spec script.

Cynthia Nixon on Gay Rights: "People Have a Lot of Fear"

Cynthia Nixon was fighting mad in Florida this weekend, as she should have been. The brainy Sex and the City sexpot hit the Shore Club for an ACLU-sponsored event to help overturn a Florida ban which prevents gay people from being able to adopt—the only state in the union to do so.

Slinky hot in a tight black dress and stilettos, Nixon clearly ain't an idiot when it comes to really selling a message, clearly pantsuits and glasses wouldn't have quite cut it. Cynthia wouldn't blab at all about the upcoming Sex sequel, but she did shout plenty about how Florida's haters seem to be abating: "I'm gratified by the fact that when you poll Floridians on whether gay people should be allowed to adopt, the majority say yes," Nixon spouted at the chic, balmy club, poolside, while local politicos listened on. "But I think people have a lot of fear, they're scared," she added.

The openly gay Nixon, continued, actually very Miranda-like, as in cool but absolutely dead-on: "We have to keep telling the truth again and again and again of what gay families are like and what gay people are like. The more of us there are, and the more public we are."

And at what better time is Nixon making such a plea than when California is hearing a landmark federal trial on gay marriage, which is not only challenging the Mormon-supported Prop 8, but expected to go all the way to the Supreme Court? Pretty good double-whammy, I'd say.

And on that note, as much as we live to tout out the sizzliciousness of Robsten, let's not forget, every time you buy a ticket to their franchise, a little bit o' that loot goes to keeping Prop 8, and other antigay arsenal, very much alive. Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer is a devout Mormon, and she gives generously to her church, if you could call it that.

Political food for thoughts, babe!

Kirsten, Maggie G. and Michelle W. all look like unwashed hipsters.
(Sorry fans)

Anonymous said...

They don't look unwashed.

Anonymous said...

6:20 PM, I agree about Kirsten and Michelle. But Maggie looks clean.

Anonymous said...

I disagree about Michelle looking unwashed too.Her clothes are always dirty but her personal hygiene seems to be ok

Kiki has worst problems than filth :(

There was an encounter with Kirsten a few years ago and the person said that she stank.

Anonymous said...

This could be interesting... stank of what?

Anonymous said...

I don't remember if the person said what the stank was of anymore. But I'm not making this up.

Anonymous said...

Her clothes are always dirty

Not only her clothes, you can see the filth on her white bags too.
Gross!

It's intersting how Witherspoon stated she doesn't shower regularly. Now, I'm no fan of hers and her phony, pretentious ways and I'm glad Jake kicked her out of his life. But she always looks clean, her clothes everything. Very well groomed IMO. She probably invests a lot of time for her appearance. Her kids look very clean too.

Jake's always looking very clean and well groomed too. Maybe that's the one and only thing they had in common? ;)

It's possbile.

In nature believe it or not all pure white clean-looking bird species have extremely strong, foul body odors and almost always terrible eating hygiene habits. How someone looks in pics isn't always what they smell or behave like.

I found by chance some Jake and Austin fake porn pics that are very well done but are NSFW. Can I post them here?

Do we need to beg? ;)

I guess we do!

The Hollywood Reporter tonight broke the word that actor Peter Sarsgaard has been cast in Warner Brothers Films' adaptation of DC Comics' "Green Lantern" landing the role of Hector Hammond, the movie's first major villain who is best known to comic fans for his colossal cranium.

^^Great for Peter.

He and Maggie seem to have a solid Hollywood career.

I don't think Jake will go for Spiderman. IMO the Spiderman movie franchise is so ovah and everyone in HW knows it. I think how the announcement of its cast/director being replaced was a graceful way of ending it, and leaving an opening for planning for a future generation of Spiderman.

Most of Jake and Austin's friends in general are unwashed hipsters.

And how do you "know" this 11:59? Are your pap photos scratch & sniff?

Anonymous said...

What a boring night. Nothing on TV, no TMZ news/gossip, here is dead, even ONTD is quiet.

Anonymous said...

You mean you didn't enjoy the new Boner post at ONTD? Someone on page two of the comments says they ran into him and his "husband and kids" at Runyon Canyon.

Austin still hangs out with a particular group of NY/LA based hipsters made up of people who frequently show up on The Cobrasnake: Matthew Frost, Alex Greenwald, The Like, Maroon 5, Agyness Deyn, etc.

As for their hygiene habits...just look at a recent picture of Alex Greenwald. You can barely recognize him as the same guy from his Donnie Darko/GAP model days.

I know there is that hipster thing about not washing your hair or using lots of goo to get a certain look, but it doesn't mean they don't bathe everywhere else.

Hipsters often smoke, and Kiki in particular seems to smoke like a chimney, which may be a source of smelling bad.

Hipsters also do a lot of coke.

Hipsters also do a lot of coke.

You're out of the loop, bro. Upper crust Brooklyn hipsters don't do a lot of coke. It's considered insanely lame and not cool. (Note: it is not cool to use the term "cool"; a Williamsburg Hipster would not say "cool".) Weed, however, is a basic food group.

Maggie and Peter are very much part of a hipster circle of youngish, affluent artists and that is their sensibility 100%. Maggie is a hipster Queen. Austin, I don't have a clue about, but I believe 12:40AM.

You all do realize that America's Cleanest Celebrity, Best Christian and Most Sin-free Mom - Her Moral Highness Reese Witherspoon - is the opposite of a stinky homo-loving godless arty-farty hipster, don't you?

Some of you are clearly secret Reese fans, thank heavens. By all that is holy, Jake knew what was good for him. He was pursuing the sanctity of marriage with a wifely, well-washed lady and I for one pray that he returns to the righteous path. Lord, let them reunite!

p.s. Nobody snorts more cocaine than Young Republicans in NYC.

Huh? Looks fine to me. Just because a guy has long hair, chest hair showing out of their shirt and tattoos means they're "unwashed" ?? You're crazy.

Tabloid fiction of the week: British Enquirer has a small article saying that Jake sent flowers to the Chin in mid-December but he sent it to a wrong address. A neighbor had to bring the flowers to Reese’s house and she interpreted Jake’s mistake in the address as a sign she shouldn’t take him back.
