Neither account is fake. I also asked what "Stat" was responding to becaue the letter didn't make any sense. I assume that some intern just posted letters out of order or something. Also "Stat" may be one of those fake letters to push a point.
I came across Naomi's FB a few months back, it looks legit as does the Reese FB. At the time I and other Jake fans figured that the accounts were real. I assume this info was passed on to Ted by some fans.

Naomi's FB account is real. Not just the pics but check out ehr friends list which includes MV residents, Columbia Univ. alumni and a lot of Gyllenhaal's that she obviously stayed friends with after the divorce. She isn't that important anymore that someone would go to the trouble to make a fake FB, there are fan facebooks but this isn't one of them.
Reese's account is real too, I doubt her agent and one of her best freinds, Jenny Belushi would friend a fake Reese account.
Ted obviously thought that no one would check, either that or his intern responded to that odd letter, it made no sense.

A poster "Stat" most likely originally alerted Ted about them and then when the break-up story started, they decided to let Ted know that Reese de-friended Mama which was false but you or whoever knew neither he nor his intern would check, they never do.

This weeks tabloids are full of alleged drama between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal. This all started last weekend, when People Magazine reported that Jake and Reese were totally dunzo, then hours later had to retract the story because Jake and Reeses reps were all no, theyre fine, bitches. People did something strange after that – they kind of double-downed on their initial report, saying that they had a source who claimed that Reese and Jake did break up, but got back together and were trying to work through their issues. They also said Jake wanted to get married to Reese immediately, and Reese was all no, Im fine, thanks.
After all of that drama, Reese headed off to England, solo, to do some work on behalf of Avons ending domestic violence campaign. So yeah. Stories about how shes all alone, and Jake isnt with her, and dont you know that a woman cant go anywhere alone without everyone knowing that she cant keep a man?!? Star Magazine has some drama about how Reese and Jake spent Thanksgiving apart:

Yeah, Im kind of meh on this version. Mostly because I dont see Jake as the commitment-phobic guy, I really dont. I think that if Jake dropped the 'my girlfriend' word and talked about the beard's kids in an interview then he's fully commited to this bearding and it'll go on for ages. I thought Jake was actually kind of manic on last night's Jimmy Kimmel (I'm sure many of you who think he's perfect will not agree). He seemed TOO excited and not as calm as his previous media tour appearances to promote a show. Not that he hasn't been humorous on previous talk shows but he seemed to be making a MAJOR effort to appear happy--it came off over the top--and yes manic.
Still didn't watch Kimmel, but Jake looked content and animated in few previous video interviews.

Not so for Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, whose romance is hanging by a thread after their heavy work schedules have forced them to spend months apart. Jake (and Jake's people) seem incapable of letting his performance do the talking, which is a shame because I'm sure he'll be pretty good in Brothers. Brothers is just a copycat from an original film. what is phenomenal or creative about that? The director of the original said she felt as if watching his child being raised by another family.

Have you ever heard Jake Gyllenhaal use the word girlfriend to describe Reese Witherspoon? I never have and I don't think anyone else ever has either. To get him to start using it all you had to do was say he and Reese split and the next thing you know he tosses it out at press conference.
Yesterday Jake was promoting Brothers and said this in response to a question from Grazia Australia. "Obviously I exist in my girlfriend's world and my sister's world in a different way, but it's opened my heart and I feel much more grown up and want to be grown up as a result of it."
Wow. Why have we never heard this before? Reese has never said that either. Not in one interview, press conference by either of them. Never accidentally slipped out. Nothing. Now it does? The week after the breakup stories? Please.

Although reps for Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon claim they have not split, friends say, “Yes, they have!” And now Reese has turned to her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, for comfort. Reese and Ryan divorced in 2007 after eight years of marriage and have two kids, Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6.
Rumors of Reese and Jake first dating began when the two co-starred in the thriller movie Rendition in 2007, but they never confirmed the gossip — that is until they were spotted vacationing together in France and Morocco in the summer of 2008.
Now, a source tells BettyConfidential that after two years together, Jake, 28, was pressing Reese, 33, to tie the knot and she kept putting it off, saying her kids were not ready.
“Her kids love Jake, so he knew that was not the case,” the insider says. “He finally gave her an ultimatum saying that either they marry by Christmas or they split up.”

The pal says that even when Jake tried to compromise and ask Reese to think about setting a date in the spring, she refused. It would seem that she’s not quite ready to walk down the aisle again.
“Everybody needs love,” Reese told Parade last year. “Everyone deserves it. Family is all we have in life, but I don't know how I feel about marriage. Obviously, I'm not far enough out of being married to think about doing it again. You sort of reconstitute your family. You find a family with people who come into your life for a reason.”

According to a recent article in the LA Times, Adam probably sold around 220,000 copies of his cd last week (the official numbers will be out at the end of this week) and will likely place no. 3 on the chart for the week.
That would normally be enough anymore to get to No. 1, but Susan Boyle's cd is blowing out of the stores. And of course it doesn't count people who bought it from Itunes, etc., which is how a lot of fans, especially the younger ones, buy their music anymore.
Kris Allen sold about 80,000 copies in his first week, and didn't even make the top 10.

This is a pr disaster for Jake, and I'm loving every second of it. He deserves these headaches. This is what happens when you beard with a certified sociopath like Witherspoon. Both the beginning and end of the bearding arrangement turn out to be unmanageable, royal nightmares.

Darren and I went to see it last night. We were stuck behind two losers who would not stop kissing. And not even like hot kissing. They would hug with their eyes closed. Sick f-ckers. At one point Darren counted 23 kisses in 45 seconds. When he had to let go of her to find his tickets, she almost fell apart. We amused ourselves by writing their dialogue. This is how we killed time while waiting for Jakey.
So Brothers. Brothers is good. It’s good enough. But I guess going in, being such a big fan of Jim Sheridan, I thought it would be great. And it’s not great. It’s not great like In America. It offers great performances and great chemistry, but these great performances cannot make up for a story that’s not told compellingly. It feels very callous saying this especially since the subject matter is so raw but Brothers is, in a word, trite. Perhaps deservingly so. Brothers is a remake of the 2004 Danish film Brodre. And while it doesn’t completely disrespect the original, there’s not much point to it either, aside from bringing it to an audience that can only respond to melodrama.
Having said that, Tobey Maguire is terrific. Really really great range. Totally believable. It’s time for him to make more movies. The physical and psychological transformation is jarring. You see him in a new light. Yay for Tobey on the comeback.
As for Natalie Portman, even Darren couldn’t ignore that face. She is SO f-cking beautiful it’s … not fair. And it’s not like they’ve adorned her or anything either. She wears the ugliest clothes, her hair is mom highlighted, and in several scenes she’s wearing baggy sweatpants. And still. Breathtaking. Acting? Just OK. Whatever, I’ve seen her in better, do better, and besides, this film was about the boys. The tension between them was, for me anyway, the core.
Oh Jakey.
Jake Gyllenhaal isn’t a movie whore. He doesn’t crank out 2 movies a year. Or even a movie a year. We have to wait for Jake. And usually it’s worth it. I confess I didn’t pay much attention to Jake in Brokeback Mountain because Heath Ledger was such a force. And in the same vein, Tobey’s part will receive the spotlight this time simply because his character is that much more flashy. But Jakey’s charisma is seriously underrated. He is a natural. He is mesmerising when he’s playing intense, he’s sexy as hell when he’s playing loose, and he totally brings the quiver in every shot. So hard. Like to the point where the pants don’t even matter. He is strong in every frame: I buy him as a degenerate, I buy him as a joker hanging out with his buddies with a great sense of humour, I buy it when he’s developing a rapport with Portman, and I definitely buy it when he’s lovingly devoted to the children. Am suddenly a big fan of Jake Gyllenhaal.
See it or not?
See it for the acting. See it to watch Tobey Maguire say “hey what’s up” to his old friend Leonardo DiCaprio matchng him for skill. And definitely see it for Jakey G if only to remember that before Reese and before those incessant gay rumours, there’s a lot of talent underneath those ill fitting trousers.

IMO the "breakup" right before Jake's Brothers public promos is no surprise. Not only does it get him out of answering personal questions (because it's a sore subject!), but he gets to avoid any Reese references while talking about a love/family oriented movie. Face it: it would seem awfully strange and suspicious if Jake didn't mention his 2-3 year happy, stable relationship with Reese in any of the interviews - UNLESS there was a breakup or problems. This gives him an excuse not to. The "girlfriend" reference? I'm sure Jake has a lot of girl friends who have kids.
IMO the "breakup" had a dual purpose: to halt any expected questions/mentions of the great wonderful love of his life Reese, and to bring public attention once again to Reeke. The ONLY way Reeke is tabloid-worthy is if they breakup or get engaged/married. And of course by doing the stunt now it will ingrain in the public's mind that Jake is in the middle of a romance with a woman..but he can't talk about it. Dilemma solved!

She has no other man escort to take his place! Honestly, I think Tobey is an excellent but VERY underrated actor because of the Spiderman franchise. I remember first seeing in Cider House Rules, The Ice Storm and Wonder Boys and thinking he was the next big thing. I'm not surprised he is so good (a lot of critics like Roger Ebert though praising Jake say this is Tobey's film) in Brothers. I'm just sad people forget how good of an actor he is because of Spiderman.

I doubt she's jealous of Portman. If like me, she has had the misfortune of seeing her stink up the stage in The Seagull and Diary of Anne Frank (on Broadway no less) and stink up the screen in countless films, then she probably thinks Portman is one overrated kewpie doll. (Honestly, I think she's almost near talentless--and mind you I've seen her "emote" on stage). This has nothing to do with jealousy on my part as I've really liked Halle Berry (when she's in good movies), Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz (fantastic in Volver), Nicole Kidman (before she destroyed her face) and Michelle Williams (I know many of you don't consider her beautiful because she does a lot of character roles but she has a gorgeous face). Natalie is not that good just lucky and she was lucky to have a good director with Sheridan. But look at her canon of films--she's far from consistent. At least Tobey and Jake are mostly good even if some of their films have stunk.

I've been following Jake since October Sky. I've seen and heard nearly all his appearances even when he was unknown and the last person on the lineup. I've always been a voice person; I pay a lot of attention to how a person speaks and what they say. IMO I have a pretty good idea on how he handles himself verbally.
The Kimmel show surprised me. Jake's voice was deeper, more clipped and more authoritative. His sense of fun was still there (merkin, towel, Sasquatch) but his voice tempo was different. He's matured.... by that I mean he's gotten more definitive. You may not agree but IMO it's exactly what happens when a person, especially young, becomes a parent - their voice and way of speaking is more a tad quicker, shorter, clearer and more authoritative than they used to be. The difference IMO isn't from Reese's kids either. They're too old and they already have a father. Same with Maggie's child - Jake is only the uncle. IMO the change in Jake's voice, going from being childlike 2 years ago to today's stronger definitive cadence, is from his own growth and confidence as a parent. You might disagree, and that's ok, but for me the difference is one more clue that BT is true.
Odd that Jake stayed after his time in the limelight on Kimmel. When was the last time he did that? He always scoots out after his interviews. My guesses are: he was bored, he wanted to seem straight since the next guest was a young beautiful female (Ashley Greene), he's low-man on the talk show totem pole right now so he needs all the PR he can get, it's Kimmel's policy that guests have to stay (I've never seen the show before so I don't know if it's typical behavior). Anyone have any theories why he didn't do his interview and leave like he always does? Odd.
