There are so many old-fashioned ways of looking at things, and if we want to be a progressive society, we have to start thinking in a different way. There's the old industry idea that you should just make sexuality a non-issue, just say your private life's your private life, and not talk about it. But that's bullshit, because private lives don't exist anymore for celebrities: they just don't.
I don't want to be looking over my shoulder all the time, thinking I have to hide, being scared of being found out, putting on a front, having a beard, going down the red carpet with some chick who is posing as my girlfriend.
That's not cool, that's not being a rock star. I can't do that.

I think of Michelle as Heath's het security blanket, made complete with baby. So for me, the more likely scenario is that Heath had some feelings for Jake and was running away from it than Jake pining for Heath. Heath was a screwed up guy in my opinion.

Matilda - Heath and Naomi broke up (a month or so before BBM shoot started) becaus supposedly he wasn't ready yet for family life. I doubt Heath planned Matilda. I think it was either Michelle feeling insecure about Heath's feelings and got pregant on purpose (after 7 months! of "knowing" him) or it was really an unplanned (by both) pregnancy.

The only time I've seen him genuinely happy with Michelle is shortly after she had his baby. Then just look at pics of him looking at her, not someone who's in love IMO.
I think Heath's drug use (although I don't think he was an addict) was a factor in them breaking up, but I think it's mainly because he wasn't ready to commit and just not that into Michelle, who would have been only one of his many flings if she didn't get pregnant.

I think Michelle was a rebound for Heath. I think he thought he was in love, but eventually found out he wasn't and that they weren't really compatible. I really do think Michelle was head over heels. I also think, on some level, she realized that she was not in Heath's league. All you had to do was take a look at Heath's track record and know he wasn't for the long haul. I don't care what a guy tells you, you do not let yourself get pregant after only knowing a man for six months. There was some kind of subconscious desparation going on there. It worked for awhile, but no baby is going to keep a man who doesn't want to be kept.
I do think drugs were an issue, but I don't think Heath was an addict, and I do believe he was clean before he died. The prescription mixup kills thousands of people every year. I think his behavior toward Michelle was a passive-aggressive way of getting out of the relationship. I think he greatly missed his daughter; he was over Michelle.
As far as Jake goes. He had it bad for Heath and wasn't real good at hiding that. I agree with the poster who thiinks that Jake was nice to Michelle because she was Heath's babymama. The pictures weren't posted here silly, this site didn't exisist when they were "discovered". She found them in 2007 from that same blog where she found Austin's b'day pics. The OMG group are well aware of them, SK posted a pic of Jake and 2 girls from that site. He was dressed as a magician, Halloween party, no date in 2007. The site is/was obviously ru by mutual friend of them, production assistants, wanna be directors, writers, etc. Nothing scandalous, or the site would have been locked but the chick that runs that Austin site knows rhat she nicked the pics w/o asking.

When I downloaded the pics to my hard drive in late 2006, the asumption was that were taken that year or before. There are other later pics from '07 and '08, '09 posted on that site that were found but it's hard to determine actually when they were taken.
I found about the pictures on an old Jake thread on IMDB in '06 that is long gone.

The Dark Knight on HBO
Wow, this movie is maybe the most overrated of the last 10 years.
Not a believable moment in the whole thing. The cop banter in the beginning is a joke, totally cheesy. I almost lost it during the court scene with Ekhardt and the mob people, who have all the nuance of the mafia portrayals on The Simpsons. The presence of Eric Roberts makes it even more laughable. Don't even get me started on the Chinese segment.
The dialogue was just awful - who the fuck talks like this? And the attempts to equate Batman's activities with the Neocon philosophy was just insulting. The fight scenes are choppy and poorly choreographed. There is no sense of space so all the tension falls out of the scenes.
Take out the Joker and this movie would be unwatchable. Even then, its just another villain who creates stupidly elaborate schemes instead of just dropping bombs. If Ledger hadn't died the movie wouldn't have made 70% of what it did and critics wouldn't be falling over themselves to praise it.

Why I Walked Out of ‘Year One’ Crying

Well, today I walked out of a Judd Apatow movie crying.
It was the scene where the obese homosexual is fortune-telling by looking at the bowels of a sheep that has been sodomized by a person. The movie was “Year One.” I tried to be open-minded as I watched the first 20 minutes of masturbation, fornication, circumcision jokes, continual penis references, bestiality, violence, and Biblical blasphemy. I told myself this was a PG-13 movie and the writers were “lost” so they didn’t know how vulgar they were being. I looked at the ten-year-old and his father sitting next to me. I must be old-fashioned or something. But, then I noticed no one was laughing. No one was walking out either. I was hoping that the crude jokes were flying over the heads of the poor children who were sitting there wide-eyed and innocent. My daughter is 15 and she loves Jack Black and the guy from “Juno,” so I thought we could have a Mom/teenager date. I asked myself, “Vicki, is this movie making you feel good?” Myself replied, “This movie is making me angry, very sad, hopeless, and dirty-feeling.” As the onscreen obese gay man poked at the bloody intestines and told the fifth anal sex joke, I looked at my daughter, and we got up and walked out. I started crying in the parking lot as we walked to our car. I am not from this world. I am an alien. No wonder me and Apatow never hit it off.

James Franco has more going for him than his status as one of Hollywood's leading heartthrobs. He's currently enrolled at two of the country's most prestigious graduate schools -- NYU and Columbia -- where he's getting his MFAs in filmmaking and creative writing. The actor recently combined his two artistic loves when he wrote and directed his first student film, The Feast Of Stephen, which screened at CineVegaas 2009. An adaptation of the poem of the same name by queer poet Anthony Hecht, the movie finds Franco, once again, tackling queer subject matter.
The short film stars Remy Germinario, in his screen debut, as Stephen, a teenager watching a pick-up basketball game in New York City. According to Movieline.com,
"The only score Stephen is keeping is the number of shirtless hunks dribbling, sweating and writhing on the court. One mop-topped stud in particular has all the moves, nudging Stephen’s daydream into the more erotic realm of naked boys playing hoops -- in slow-motion, natch, and suddenly transported to a wooded glen where society’s referees won’t blow a whistle on their hard fouls."
From there, Stephen finds himself in a park where the basketball players are engaged in pummeling him and he meets "the sustained brutality of fists, elbows, knees and blood." Franco pulls this off "with chests, thighs and asses pressed tight in various permutations, infusing the violence with the poem’s more visceral sense of ecstasy." The film ends with Stephen's face smeared with feces and Movieline.com claims "however demeaning and/or gang-rapey it might be ... the literally shit-eating grin he shares with the audience at the end suggests that even the most horrendous intimacy is better than none at all." Having done Milk, this film, and gearing up to star as queer poet Allan Ginsberg in the near future, if we didn't know better we'd say Franco is trying to tell us something.

Nah, I don't think she's so sweet and shy as some think. There's somthing about her that irritates me ever since they all did promo for BBM. I was also annoyed that Anne was mostly ignored and Michelle praised so much. I knew one day Anne would leave overrated Michelle miles behind, because Anne is not only charismatic and genuinely nice, but also very talented. I'm not trying to start comparing them or a discussion, it's just something I thought when I watched all of them promote the movie.
I hope Jake and Anne enjoy working together again and won't be bothered by Witherspoon too much.

The hot new craze in romance novels (which, as any economist/pundit/chart-wonk can tell you, is the barometer for mapping cultural/political/economic change) is "m/m romance": dude love, for women, by women. (Although writing under studiously gender-neutral names.) According to the Baltimore City Paper, publishers warmed up to this notion when they saw the popularity of Brokeback Mountain with female audiences, and, always looking for a new sub-genre, started encouraging these less traditional story lines.
Although these romances deal in standard love tropes, by necessity (especially in historicals) they tend to involve more realistic situations and setbacks. Here's the description of Trangressions:
"1642, England David Caverly's strict father has brought home the quiet, puritanical Jonathan Graie to help his dreamer of a son work the family forge. With war brewing in Parliament, the demand for metal work increases as armies are raised. The indolent and deceitful David Caverly is bored by his father's farm and longs to escape, maybe to join the King's Army, mustering at Nottingham. David finds himself drawn to Jonathan, and after a passing cavalry trooper seduces the beautiful David and reveals his true nature, he determines to teach Jonathan what he's learned. When David is forced to leave the farm, and the boys are separated by mistrust and war, they learn the meaning of love and truth as they fight their way across a war-torn country, never thinking they'll ever see each other again."

Then there is theBrokeback-like genre of straight-living men - often friends, seemingly often police officers - struggling with their sexuality and forbidden love. These are not, as a rule, light stories, even when the subject would seem to be standard historical fodder. In Alex Beercroft's False Colors (no relation to the u-including Georgette Heyer romp of the almost-same name), the aforementioned naval romance, there's more anguish than romping, blouse-ripping and shanties. Says the City Paper,
"The pivotal points in the story are markedly different from an m/f romance. First, Alfie admits his attraction to John, who hasn't yet faced his own orientation, and John is embarrassed and demonstrably repulsed. Fifty pages later, John has his first homosexual experience; it is anonymous and disturbing for John, more realistic than romantic. As the climax of the book builds, John is asked to choose between his career and Alfie. It's 1762, and John can either become the captain of his own ship or he can risk the gallows by unsuccessfully defending Alfie against sodomy charges."
Is it too "real" for the mass market? Borders and Barnes & Noble both shelved the novel in the less-trafficked GLBT section, and had Amazon (trying to re-group from its whole 'not rating LGBT titles' fail) not given it a boost, it might have faded away. Instead, it became a bestseller. One can only imagine that in time the genre will evolve to include lighter romances, in which the "issue" of same-sex love doesn't need to serve as a dramatic lynch-pin to the same extent, and the authors can simply have fun with characters who happen to be of the same sex.
But then, as the article's author points out, the genre may appeal because it deals with classic "forbidden love": romances depend on tension and conflict - see the popularity of the societal restrictions in Regency-set novels - and we've pretty much exhausted the boss-marries-secretary-for-convenience trope. Beercroft also says she welcomes a chance to play with traditional gender roles: "Unlike f/f which has the same advantage of equality, m/m allows the writer to use characters who are not mired in feminine gender roles either. So it has a big element of escapism to it, plus the advantage of two gorgeous heroes for the price of one."But maybe there's more to it than that: I have several (straight, female) friends who prefer gay male porn to the kind "aimed" at them; it's quite possible that authors like Beercroft are onto something. The book's popularity would suggest as much. And despite some people's surprise at women writing on the subject for women, there's a funny symmetry to it: it's an open secret that there's long tradition of gay men writing traditional romance under pseudonyms. As one friend (who's done just this) wrote me, "why should we have to categorize who can write what? A good writer can find readers, period - and why should this subject be "niche?" At the end of the day, it's just a romance."

Last night I walked into a bar only to see my boyfriend making out with some guy. It did not turn me on. Quite the opposite. The end.
I made a big scene and hit him in the face, which I am not too proud of. I really cannot imagine a better person to be with, and I know he would never have done that with another women, and I also know he wouldn't have gone any further, but still, I'm not quite sure where to go from there.
Honestly, I would have been infinitely more furious if it had been a woman. I've seen him (briefly) kiss guy friends before and not minded, I think this was so awful to me because I walked in on it and it was someone I didn't know (although he's known him for a long time). Anyway, I'm starting to think I overreacted. I've kissed a female friend of his before in front of him. It definitely isn't a performative frat sort of thing- more like a strange result of having a close group of friends who party too heavily- male-male kissing in general is a lot more common in the group. That probably makes it sound even weirder that I was upset at all, but I was. We've had several friends recently get divorced due to homosexual relationships, so maybe I'm taking it more seriously these days.

Jake G, imo, is going to be eternally famous for two things: being a closet case and bearding with a preocession of blondes, not for his film portfolio. Even in death, dying in little more than a drugs squat, Heath will always be the more respected/powerful of the two.
I think Jake G is wasted on this life and should go do something that means something, he's got other talents he could usefully employ and have a better life. I feel sorry for him, that's why I gave up being a major fan and just check in every now and then.

I'm sure fans who don't like Chin and think Jake's bi, wouldn't be against Jake coming out if he was gay. I think many are just sick of this tabloid romance and want Jake to be taken seriously as actor again.

I also prefer my bf be straight, but open-minded, gay-friendly, and pro-civil rights for all. I do think you can enjoy a kiss with a member of your own sex and still be straight, it's human. It's all in degree. It doesn't mean your relationship is about to fall apart, or the end of civilization as we know it. That kind of thinking sounds a bit on the 'phobic side if you ask me.

Maybe not - but however two people want to conduct their relationship, open, or whatever they want to call it, is their business, not to be judged by others. If you don't like to be judged, don't be judgemental about other people's relationships.
I don't care about other people, just the people in my life - I expect them to be sincere about their sexuality.
If they don't lie to you about it, and you agree and accept it, that's sincere. But a kiss can be just a kiss.
^^But that being said, it's not the kind of relationship I'd want to be in myself, I'd want another person to have the same view of a relationship I have - monogamy. Guys do cheat - whether straight or gay, and those who don't act on it think about it. But I don't judge other people's relationships, which are equally as valid, nor do I view them negatively.
