Dear Ted:
Ted, I love your wit, and the new retina-burning format is starting to grow on me. You said there's a Baby Tile — is there another one on the way? Is it Ben Affleck?

Dear Baby Q:
Such the good guess, babes, so right in so many brunet directions, alas, it's the wrong two-timing type.

After delving deeper in your articles and in others on other websites, I've come to a horrible conclusion — sure hope I'm 100 percent wrong — but is Toothy Tile Ben Affleck?

Dear Spin Jen:
Oh, wouldn't that just give J.G. a kick in her softer spots, which, of course, don't exist, so what the ef are we talking about? Right age and acting oeuvre, wrong dude.

The last time TC mentioned age. Adam B is 28.

Dear Ted:
I think One Confused Blind Vice's Toothy Tile is Adam Brody from The O.C. He has Rachel Bilson, and he's up and coming.

Dear Canadian Fakin':

Word on the homo-connected nut-vine has it that Toothy's been in talks with an Oprah-esque mag (i.e., huge circulation, other media connections like TV networks) about coming out of the closet. Not as gay, but as...bisexual.

This, of course, would help explain T.T.'s past dating experience with lithe female movie stars. But (as is often the case with love) now he can't control the fact that he's in a major butterfly state with a dude (don't you hate it when that happens?).

At least, that's the plan--to be done with a queer writer for added politically correct synergy (some say for guaranteed taste, but I don't trust these reporters, regardless of their sexual orientation).

It'll be most interesting. Particularly when Mr. Tile's big-screen job makes a very sensual, boyish splash at the same time.

And it ain't: Tobey Maguire, Will Smith, Val Kilmer

Ledger's estate sells his Hollywood Hills home

HEATH Ledger's estate has sold the late Australian actor's Hollywood Hills home, nicknamed The Treehouse, for $US2.5 million ($A2.99 million). Ledger's trustees Layne David Dicker and Jeff Gillman arranged the sale to Miami-based company, Eighty Ten Properties LLC.

According to recently released Los Angeles County public records, the sale was completed in May. Ledger bought the unique two bedroom, two bathroom post-and-beam home in 2005 for $US2.3 million from US TV talkshow host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres. The 28-year-old Perth-born actor and star of 2008's box office hit, The Dark Knight, died in New York in January from an accidental prescription drug overdose.

It is unknown if Ledger's daughter, Matilda, who turns three next month, or his former fiancee, Michelle Williams, would share in the sale's proceeds. Ledger filed his will in Australia in 2003, before he met Williams on the set of their 2005 film Brokeback Mountain and he did not update it to include the actress or Matilda. The bulk of his estate was placed in a trust for his parents, Kim and Sally, and his three sisters.

I hope Heath's parents will do the right thing and share with Matilda. I'm sure they know he'll rather have Matilda get his money then his stepmom and stepdad and half-sisters. He should have updated this damn will. Most of his estate should belong to Matilda and the rest he could have given to his mother, father and sister Kate, they then could have shared with their respcetive families.

"While Ledger left everything to his parents and three sisters, it is understood they have legal advice that under WA law, the toddler is entitled to the lion's share. However her mother, actor Michelle Williams, will have to officially lodge a claim with the court supported by an affidavit which could end up in the public domain, legal experts said."

Maggie is cool about drugs:

"She [Maggie Gyllenhaal] readily admits that she has little experience of the world of suburban heroin addicts in which Sherrybaby is set. “I’ve never seen anybody shoot up heroin. I’ve been around people who snorted it,” she says.

7:46, so what does she say? That it's cool being around people doing drugs? I know my friends and I avoid people who use drugs. Life is too short to waste it with this shit. I guess some find it cool though.

I don't think she'll do it, she is wealthy enough to take care of her daughter by herself anyway.

No, that she's not bothered by people doing hard drugs. (I had no idea you can snort heroin.)

Anonymous said...

8:02, franky I would be bothered. I don't want to see this. And I don't think it'd be "open-minded" or "cool" watching people snort whatever crap.
If Heath Ledger was around people who were ok with him using various crap, no wonder the guy died so young. With friends like this and enablers, i'm not surprised. He had a kid to take care of and a promising career. He should have said "fuck those" who use this crap, I have something to live for. While Maggie is probably ok with people slowly killing themselves, I doubt girlfriend uses this crap, I think she knows exactly what's good for her and what not. I don't like her. I don't think she'd be were she is career wise if mommy and daddy didn't help, same goes for her bro. Sorry to say.

I've been to parties where people were snorting cocaine and offered some. I personally don't snort cocaine and don't think that anyone should. However, at a party with a bunch of people I don't know, it's not my place to preach to them about the dangers of doing cocaine. They're doing it willingly.
And, 8:10AM, ITA that if it wasn't for mom and dad, Maggie and Jake wouldn't have had such an easy time getting started in HW.

Palin Coverage Squeezes McCain

Us Weekly released its much-anticipated Sarah Palin issue, resurfacing in it a January incident in which the John McCain running mate laughed along with a shock jock who called her Republican rival a "bitch" and a "cancer" on the state. Us got fresh quotes from the woman in question, a cancer survivor who is still quite pissed about the incident despite a halfhearted apology from Palin. The celebrity weekly also questioned whether the father of Palin's forthcoming granddaughter really wants to have kids. As right-wing bloggers are bitterly noting, the coverage scandalizes John McCain's running mate before the magazine's 12 million readers, mostly the very females Palin was recruited to attract. It's not lost on any of them, either, that Us Weekly owner Jann Wenner is a big Barack Obama supporter. With coverage of Palin's various scandals — the love child, the radio thing, troopergate, etc. etc. — still everywhere, Palin's role in the campaign is being severely restricted, the Wall Street Journal reports in a page-one story today:

It seems like the story is the same in all of these magazines. SCANDAL! BABIES! LIES! SECRETS! TEETH! KAREN WALKER! MORE LIE-TELLING! SCANDAL!

Basically, the Palin family has become the Spears family of Alaska. Somebody shake Brit Brit from her Vicodin-Cheeto coma and let her know that this Sarah Palin chick is taking her place! I want to see pictures of Brit Brit looking tore-up on all these covers, not this Sarah lady! Come on, Brit! Rob a Starbucks! Slap the artificial cheese out of Chester Cheetah! Anything! Handle it.

OK! Magazine went with a double cover this week. Michelle and Barack Obama are on one cover and Palin and Trig are on the other. Oh and Carrie thinks Jessica is fat, because she is fat! Fat in the mouth!

Anonymous said...

What is happening at DC is a reflection of their new policy in the past month or so that (1) forbids any talk about Jake possibly being gay or mentions of Austin, but hey, feel free to talk all you want to about Reeke, and
(2) forbidding people from making jokey, sarcastic comments of any kind. Nothing like having a gay man (DC) proclaim that talking about Jake's sexuality is off-limits. Talk like that was also forbidden in the early days, which is one reason why you got sites like the original WFT. The babblers may've won the battle at DC, but too bad for them no one is sticking around to suffer their Reeke fest.

It’s not just people on DCF, IHJ and other Jake boards that don’t care about him anymore. People on ONTD, DListed, etc are all meh about him too. Thing is, Jake was interesting for like two minutes because of the speculation he kept alive about his sexuality and because he was single. As soon as he became “straight” and the fauxmance began his interesting factor went to hell. That’s the sad truth.

Anne Hathaway is getting major buzz for "Rachel's getting married". She'll probably be nominated for this. She's currently promoting the movie in Venice, but it'll be shown in Toronto as well, as well as Michelle William's "Wendy and Lucy" for which Michelle gets great reviews as well.

"This year's festival looks thin on the sort of big studio Oscar hopefuls like last year's " Atonement" or " Michael Clayton." Rather, the festival may provide a kickoff for more strategic campaigns, in particular for best actress. Keira Knightley in "The Duchess," Anne Hathaway in "Rachel Getting Married," Sally Hawkins in "Happy-Go-Lucky," Michelle Williams in "Wendy and Lucy," and Dakota Fanning in "The Secret Life of Bees" could all get a major boost from a warm reception."

Anonymous said...

I knew Jake would lose a lot of popularity being stuck with Reese. She is very unlikeable. Even when she got cheated on and dumped there wasn't much sympathy for her. Most people wondered how her husband stood her for so long. It seems like people assumed he was stoned or cheating the entire marriage and HE finally decided to leave. What does that say about her? She comes off as a social climbing, holier than thou, power hungry bitch.

For Jake fans it completely changes what the assumptions were about the kind of guy he was. I totally have changed my opinion of him. Most of the IHJ and DC forum posters would never have pictured him as one half of this Ron and Nancy Regan type couple. You can't blame them being turned off on his light schedule. Other times like this IHJ was still a busy place.

Anonymous said...

I think most people can tell when something's phony, that's why people haven't got interested in Reeke. (people aren't as stupid as pr/hw think).

Or maybe its just that Reese is such an unattractive personality.

Anonymous said...

I think if Jake was in a relationship with someone interesting like Anne Hathaway or Agnes Deyn or Kate Moss or ANYONE with some sizzle even if it meant he was straight as a line it would interest the ONTD type crowd.

Anonymous said...

I would rather him suck Sienna's tits on a yacht if he insists on being straight.

Anonymous said...

Shit! LOL

Anonymous said...

Reese sucks and since Jake's with her he did some unlikeable things as well. He needs to end this, whatever it is and start concentrating on doing good work, instead of hoping to become one of the big guys in Hollywood. I already said this, Johnny Depp got his first blockbuster with 36. Before that he was in some really good and in some really bad films, but he chose roles he liked, not based on whether they could make him a star.

Anonymous said...

4:03 PM, I agree with Anne Hathaway, but I'm not too fond of Kate Moss. Rachel MacAdams or Michelle Williams would be nice options too. But Anne is my personal favourite. The thing is, I don't think Jake liked her that much, that's what I noticed during promotion of BBM. I may be wrong though.
Of course if he was an openly gay actor I'd like to see him hook up with George Clooney, if he was openly gay as well that is.
But if both are gay, they'll probably stay in the closed for the rest of their careers, sadly.

"What is happening at DC is a reflection of their new policy in the past month"

Exactly. DC is vanishing, and good riddance.

Don't think that Jake's people care one jot about it either. He has his franchise and his 7 million dollar paycheck. He didn't get PoP because of his last few films (bombs) or blog traffic; he got it because he manufactured a fauxmance that helped to sell 300,000 gossip rags. We don't buy those; his rabid, sexually frustrated fangirls did. And when Pop arrives, they will flock to the theaters.

The rest is collateral damage, and that includes his personal life, by the way. Are we surprised to hear that Reese is out clubbing in Brazil with her friends? Who here would be surprised to discover that Jake visited Jardinelle alone? He can't hang out with men (besides carefully vetted industry flacks or well-known directors) because he's afraid of the gay rumors, and he can't hang out with women (besides his agent or PA, if he still has one) because it will look like he's 'cheating' on Reese. And forget about hanging out with his family or best friend. If he couldn't be seen with them very much (if at all) in the US, do you think that they'll go to visit him in Morocco?

So, he goes to museums alone, and then he goes back to work on PoP. And when he returns to LA for a break, or London for more shooting, he'll be alone, except for his chaperone and industry flacks. He is a prisoner of his own ambition and the closet. It must be a truly lonely life.

Anonymous said...

Is this the type of buzz PoP is getting?

4:48 get over yourself. Reeke doesn't sell tabloids and Jake doesn't have any fangirls left.

Whatever interest there is in Reeke, its main purpose is to act as a smoke screen so he can visit museums with whoever he likes (hopefully Austin if he's stayed around). Likewise for Reese.

POP will be succesful because of the hype / special effects, not because of who the lead actor is. Lets be honest, by summer 2010 will anyone remember who Jake is anyway.

ITA. People know when they are being fed crap. Thats why nobody really cares. Even the ppl that think he's straight.

I never cared about Jake's orientation, but I didn't like when he hooked up with Reese. Reese from all women? God. Now it's not just the Reese factor, it's also the image factor, like to distance himself from all things Heath, just because, I think, he didn't want his name to be dragged into the whole mess, whereas other people didn't care. This showed me that he's probably not the person I thought he was.

I agree with 4:56, PoP will be a B.O. hit, because of the type of movie it is, like Mummy or Indi Jones etc.

John McCain’s campaign threatened legal action against the National Enquirer today for running a story about McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, allegedly having an affair with her husband’s business partner.

GayMan being mean to a woman said...

... US Weekly magazine, the tabloid published by Rolling Stone's Jann Wenner. That cover shows a smiling Sarah Palin, holding her youngest son Trig. The screaming headline: "Babies, Lies and Scandal: John McCain's Vice President."

Wenner has contributed $5300 to Obama's campaign since 2007.

The cover was sent to select news organizations by Mark Neschis.

An email from Neschis that accompanied the cover read: "Thought I would send over our Us Weekly/Sarah Palin cover story, on stands Friday, if helpful in your coverage. Might be useful as an illustration of how the news is playing out. (Us Weekly has 12 million, mostly female readers)"

"How the news is playing out." That's an interesting way of putting it. In one sense, it's accurate. The mainstream media have been focused on pseudo-scandals about McCain's running mate.

The "news is playing out" that way because irresponsible journalists publish cover stories promoting "Babies, Lies and Scandal," without any evidence of an actual "scandal."

It's ironic, of course, that the same establishment news organizations consumed by such tabloid issues not long ago refused to investigate reports that John Edwards was having an affair and had a child out of wedlock. Why? The story was originally broken by the National Enquirer and deemed too tawdry to touch. And, perhaps as important, Edwards was running for the Democratic nomination for president, with an agenda favored by the liberal media establishment.

ENQURIER RESPONDS TO MCCAIN/PALIN

"The National Enquirer's coverage of a vicious war within Sarah Palin's extended family includes several newsworthy revelations, including the resulting incredible charge of an affair plus details of family strife when the Governor's daughter revealed her pregnancy. Following our John Edwards' exclusives, our political reporting has obviously proven to be more detail-oriented than the McCain campaign's vetting process. Despite the McCain camp's attempts to control press coverage they find unfavorable, The Enquirer will continue to pursue news on both sides of the political spectrum."

And, perhaps as important, Edwards was running for the Democratic nomination for president, with an agenda favored by the liberal media establishment.

Racism exisits in both parties and the white gay men and women that won't vote for Obama due to racism are also finanacially in a position where they feel comfortable voting for a Rethug, rights be damned.

There was a high number of gays that voted for Chimpy in '04 and they weren't all Log cabin members.

Heath Ledger Coke Suit Nearly Goes Flat

The freelance reporter at the center of an ongoing legal battle concerning the late Heath Ledger has been ordered to do a little fact-checking on her claims.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John S. Wiley has dismissed 11 of the 12 allegations the so-called Jane Doe plaintiff has lobbed against the Splash News agency for a 2006 video in which she and Ledger appeared to be in the vicinity of some illicit substances. Wiley said the plaintiff failed to properly state her legal claims and must modify the suit if she wishes to proceed.

The unnamed woman had originally claimed she was the victim of fraud, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress or negligence and trespass, though the judge ruled that, as written, her lawsuit only accounts for the latter charge. She has 15 days to amend her complaint or the lawsuit will be tossed.

Portman makes directorial debut in Venice

Actress Natalie Portman presented her debut as a director at the Venice film festival on Tuesday with a short movie about a young woman who is dragged along to her grandmother's romantic date. "Eve", screening out of competition in the Venice short film section, stars Hollywood veterans Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara as the witty grandmother and the widower who takes her out for dinner. Early reviews have been positive.

Portman, 27, said she had always had a fascination with the older generation, and drew inspiration for Bacall's character from her own grandmother. "The film was definitely inspired by personal experience and also all my friends, female friends, starting to define themselves in relation, and in reaction to, their mothers and their grandmothers," the Oscar-nominated actress told a news conference.

Having started her acting career as a child, she said that she had long wanted to be on the other side of the camera and will present a second short work at the Toronto film festival which starts later this week. "We have so much time off between films as actors that you tend to get restless and you want a creative outlet, and there is not always acting work that fulfils that need," she said.

"I have been working now in films for 16 years...it was exciting to know what a director goes through and also to create something completely on your own. "When you are an actor of course you are creating something but you are serving someone else's vision and ultimately it's someone else's creation. To have authorship is ... and feels like a more adult job," she added.

Getting Bacall on board was like fulfilling her "wildest dream", Portman said. "It's so exciting to see someone with that much experience and that much wisdom on screen. It's rare." Portman, who shot to fame as a teenager befriending a professional killer in Luc Besson's 1990s hit "Leon", has featured as Padme in the second Star Wars trilogy and won an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress in "Closer".

"Milk" trailer splashes across the web

We've been getting incredibly excited lately with all the coverage that Gus van Sant's Harvey Milk biopic has been getting in the fall movie previews in mainstream entertainment press. Here we have a biopic of a gay civil rights leader written and directed by gay men, and it doesn't feel like a punchline (I can't tell you how many giggled "Bareback Mountain" jokes I heard every time the Brokeback trailer ran in the theater).

Finally, the trailer for the film is here, giving us the chance to see Sean Penn's uncanny channelling of Milk, and it's both unabashedly queer and very moving. It also has lots of hot period hair and fashion, if the first two don't do it for ya. For a big fancy hi-res version, head on over to the official site, or watch above.

Seems that everyone loves the trailer.

"To put it simply, Gus Van Sant’s upcoming film Milk, which stars Sean Penn as California’s first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk, looks fantastic. I wasn’t all that excited about this film until this very moment. But now, having seen the trailer, I’m excited. We all know that while Sean Penn might be annoying at times, he is a damn good actor when he finds a role that he can really get into. And it appears that he has found such a role in Milk."

Penn in "Sweet and Lowdown" ! ! !

"The Playlist reports about someone who has gotten a first look at Gus Van Sant's Milk. Here is the insider's interpretation:

"The insider tell us the film is much more “old school” Gus Van Sant ala the assured and economical days of “Good Will Hunting,” rather than his recent experimental phase (“Elephant,” et al). Our tipster tell us the editing was fantastic, the use of old, archival footage rather seamless and adroit and that the film “pops” with vibrant color. Update: Heh, having read Jeffrey Wells' piece about our piece, we thought it was rather obvious. The tipster felt overall that the movie was "great," but didn't want to say too much outside of what we have above."

The Playlist also talks about James Franco's recent admission in an interview, where he admits to wearing a prosthetic penis in the film during his nude scene in a pool with Sean Penn. Franco say's:

"I was very uncomfortable on the day [of the nude scene] but the makeup artist handed me this prosthetic penis. And he said, "You can wear this, it'll make you feel more comfortable."

Thing is, Jake was interesting for like two minutes because of the speculation he kept alive about his sexuality...

Gays are not amused:

Q: So Robert Downey Jr. has told Rolling Stone that his bisexuality was “manufactured,” just like everything else in [the] 80s. But I believe I remember reading that he attended a rehab center known to cater to GLB clientele when he was trying to kick his cocaine habit. Perhaps he just went because the center had a good reputation, but perhaps... – Bill, Amherst, NH

A: The Monkey recalls reading a profile of Downey Jr. a few years back about how he would make $20 million or so on movie roles…and then blow it all on drugs, screwing over all the people in his life in the process. According to the profile, he did this exact scenario, like, four times. The Monkey remembers thinking, “How many chances does a person deserve in life?” Yes, yes, he was great in Chaplin (1992), and I’m always happy to see anyone clean up their life. But hey, there are a lot of people with talent who never get any breaks at all. Why couldn’t Downey Jr. get his life together by working as a counselor for other addicts? What makes him so special that no matter what he does, no matter how badly he screws up, he always gets a “second chance” to be a pampered, fabulously wealthy international celebrity?

Man, this country does love its attractive white males.

But the Monkey digresses. What to do about this whole phenom of celebrities who “come out” or imply bisexuality, but then take it back later? David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Dave Navarro, and Elton John have all done it (though John took back his taking it back when he later came out as gay, and Navarro just seems to have been refreshingly honest about having experimented with guys).

Downey Jr., meanwhile, never officially “came out,” but he did definitely imply bisexuality in earlier interviews and was widely considered to be bi. But in a recent Rolling Stone profile, Downey Jr. says his bisexuality “was manufactured. I didn't have an identity. I was playing around. I expressed it. I grew up in the Rocky Horror Picture Show world, where even my butch friends turned out to be androgynous on Saturday nights."

Frankly, this makes the Monkey feel a little cheap and more than a tad annoyed. Sure, the public’s fascination with celebrities often leads to totally inappropriate invasions of privacy. But does that make it okay for them to manipulate us gay folks, to use our eagerness for role models just to sell more “product”? This also confirms those nasty stereotypes about bisexual people — that they’re confused in their identify or just plain flaky. Thanks a lot, Robert.

Exclusive: Austin Nichols Relocates to 'One Tree Hill'

John from Cincinnati is moving to Tree Hill.

Ex-Cincinnati star Austin Nichols is joining the cast of One Tree Hill, sources confirm to me exclusively. He'll play an indie movie producer who expresses interest in turning Lucas' first novel into a film. And because OTH loves its triangles, he'll also share a past connection with Peyton!

My OTH mole describes Nichols' gig as "heavy recurring," which I'm pretty sure means we're going to be seeing a lot of him. In related news, props to me for getting through yet another OTH story without saying anything mean. Not sure what's come over me.

I've been thinking about something, isn't it ironic that Anne Hathaway, the only one not nominated for an Oscar for BBM, has by far the most successful career of the 4 main cast members of BBM? She's in one blockbuster after another and now she's a lock for an Oscar nom. Michelle Williams prefers very independant films, but if the Scorsese flick next year is any good her profile could rise. As for Jake, well everyone here knows what's going on with his career.
And the personal lifes.. Now that Anne dumped her money steeling loser bf, for career reasons, her private life seems intact again. She's supposedly dating Josh Lucas.
Michelle Williams lost the father of her child and has to raise her child without a father.
Jake is (bearding) with Reese. This match is not very favourable for him.
And Heath is dead, mixed the wrong pills, intentionally or not? No one knows.
I'd say Hathaway is the luckiest at the moment, by far.

New Couple Alert! Anne Hathaway and Josh Lucas

Anne Hathaway, 25, and actor Josh Lucas, 37, seemed to have more in common than politics when the two dined at Earls restaurant during the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Aug. 28. “They definitely looked like a couple,” a witness tells Life & Style. “They were really into each other, giggling and smiling and even holding hands at one point. You could almost taste their chemistry!”

In June, Anne split with her longtime boyfriend, financier (and accused con man) Raffaello Follieri. But she seems to be getting over that relationship just fine. “She looked beautiful and happy,” adds the witness at Earls. “Josh put his arm around her for a bit before they left.”

Anne and Josh were also connected at the hip on Aug. 26, when a slew of celebs turned out at a National Apartment Association event, where it was reported that at one point during an address by the association’s president, Doug Culkin, Anne and Josh disappeared together in the back.

Yes.

"Anne Hathaway, singing with her Devil Wears Prada costar and pal Emily Blunt during an impromptu performance at Hollywood hot spot Green Door lounge. After spending most of the evening having drinks and chatting at a table in the venue's "library" with Blunt, another female pal and a group of male companions, the actress – sporting a striped white blouse, skinny jeans and heels – made her way hand-in-hand with Blunt to the jazz band. The two crooned their way through a duet, then Hathaway and another pal played backup singer for Blunt while the audience clapped and cheered. The group finally left the near-empty venue a little after 2 a.m."

Church's 'loving warning' to gay teens: 'I kissed a girl...then I went to hell'

Katy Perry's pop hit about a girl-on-girl kiss has prompted an Ohio church to expand on the message on its roadside sign, The Columbus Dispatch reported. "It's not something that is really a shock if you're a scriptural person," said the Rev. Dave Allison of the 100-member Havens Corners Church in Blacklick, Ohio. "We meant that as a loving warning to teens." "The Scriptures," Allison added, "tell us that you should not do what the song tells you to do. The Scriptures are not ambiguous on this issue."

Equality Ohio director Lynne Bowman acknowledged the church's right to its beliefs and notes that at least 300 churches in Ohio are more welcoming than Havens Corners. "That sign just tells [people] where they cannot go to find the love and faith in Christ," she said.

"It's just rude," said local resident Wendy Olinski. "At first I have to say I laughed hysterically because I was shocked...It was obvious: 'If you're gay, you're going to hell.'" "But that's going way too far," she added.

By far??? I disagree, it's Heath that has the most successful career at this point due to his performances in BBM and TDK. While on average Anne’s movies were better received that his, she hasn't had yet any iconic performances whereas he had two in a very short career. The fact that he's dead is irrelevant, they still stand.

I agree that she will likely be the most successful out of the remaining cast of BBM but she's talented so we're probably not going to have to wait a long time to see it happen.

Men's deep affection for their mates

SITTING at a cafe the other day, my friend and I couldn't help but get distracted by a group of three guys. They seemed to be lost in their own little world as they devoured their big breakfasts and chatted away happily. No, it wasn't a case of a couple of single girls perving on some unsuspecting gentlemen. It was more one of those moments when you recognise something about the opposite sex that is both endearing and somewhat a relief - that men are adorably basic creatures at the best of times. You see, these men were enjoying a healthy dose of b-romance on that Saturday morning. B-romance is the term we coined as we giggled over our lattes watching the boys like they were some sort of circus act. It is the non-gay deep affection that men have for their mates.

Imagine if you and your partner loved all the same things. You are both dying to hang out at the pub, shouting over the top of a pint, talking about only two or three topics, all of which may involve sport and none of them about relationships. You both love sex and never feel the need to overanalyse it. Outside work, the most pressing issue of your day is what you are going to eat for dinner, and who is going to get it for you. The most beautiful part of your house is not the front garden - it's the area surrounding the couch. The most horrific thought if you were ever burgled is that the TV and 12 remotes may get taken.

Would you not think that you had indeed met your soul mate? The most famous b-romantic couple in the world have to be George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Have you ever noticed that when interviewed together, they're like two giggly teenagers who can't get enough of each other? Sure, we've seen a thousand photos of Brad and Ange gazing adoringly at each other in magazines, but there's something even more relaxed and sweet about the way George and Brad gaze at each other. Why is it that the b-romantic relationship between men seems so much more real than those with girlfriends and wives? Probably because a lot of the time, they are.

You can understand where so many of these gay rumours in Hollywood start. Jake Gyllenhaal's copped it. The boys in new hit series Gossip Girl are constantly copping it. But, let's face it, there's every chance the body language and the "look of love" that photographers and "onlookers" go on about are nothing more than a healthy case of b-romance between two buddies having a meeting at the "mutual admiration club".

Funnier than an episode of The Office and equally as cringeworthy at times is watching a guy, let's say a Crows fan, when he happens to meet the legendary Mark "Roo" Ricciuto. Watch out for the transformation of this once-blokey bloke as he is reduced to an almost eye-fluttering groupie as he gazes at his hero. There's no doubt his hands have just got a little sweatier, his heart is racing just a little bit faster and a topless waitress could offer him a free round of drinks and he'd never know she was there. If he thought buying Roo flowers and shouting him dinner at his favourite restaurant would buy him a night of b-romance, I reckon he would go for it.

Sadly, many of us will have to work overtime trying to remind our partners how to be romantic or hinting about what we'd like them to buy us. But there's no such dilemma for the boys and their much loved mates. They'll always be thinking of them, they'll never tire of being with them and they'll always, always want to hug them when they're drunk. Who would have thought that boys could be so romantic? If only it was always that way when we girls were around.

Healthy dose of b-romance

Does Matthew McConaughy really love running that much? Or is it running with the boys that puts that Hollywood smile on his dial? Is it realistic to expect a more loving look on our wedding day than when a Port fan meets Chad Cornes? Backslapping for men is their way of putting 10 hugs they'd like to give their mate into one swift, manly whack.

No wonder boys hate leaving their mates so much - who would want the perfect date to end?

Men's deep affection

Liev is going to be a daddy again. And Ben Affleck is going to be a daddy again too.

Liev is going to be in Ang's newest movie Taking Woodstock. He's Vilma, so no doubt he will be wearing a frock or two.

He is also in the blockbuster X-man franchise.

Both Jake and Liev are Jewish

The both have last names that get misspelled and mispronounced.

Jake's mom is Naomi.

Liev is with Naomi who was with Heath who was with...

6:31 PM Thanks for posting that article.

While I think George and Brad are just good buddies, it wouldn't surprise me if they were having a little fun on the side considering George's tendencies. Angelina probably wouldn't object either since she's not totally straight herself.

Are there any rumors about Brad, by the way?

Anonymous said...

Yes, someone mentioned gay rumors about Brad but I forgot the details.

Does Matthew McConaughy really love running that much? Or is it running with the boys that puts that Hollywood smile on his dial?

Sir Cliff Richard reveals identity of his male companion

Legendary pop singer Sir Cliff Richard has revealed that he has shared his life with a former Roman Catholic priest for the last seven years. Sir Cliff, 67, is one of the UK's best-known Christians, has been the victim of persistent rumours and innuendo about his sexuality.

In his autobiography My Life, My Way, published yesterday, the singer said he met Father John McElynn in 2001. "He hadn't any thought at the beginning of giving up the priesthood, but when it became clear he was thinking of the possibility, I suggested he might help me with some charitable projects," he wrote. "That was seven years ago and our arrangement has worked out really well. John now spends most of his time looking after my properties."

Sir Cliff said the former priest shares his home and has become a companion, and complained that he is dogged by questions about his sexual orientation. "'I am sick to death of the media's speculation about it. What business is it of anyone else's what any of us are as individuals? I don't think my fans would care either way." He has previously spoken of his support for civil partnerships.

Sir Cliff began his career in the 1950s and has scored UK number ones in every decade since. His notoriously loyal fanbase has ensured his popularity well into his sixties - My Life, My Way is expected to be a bestseller. Journalist Penny Junor helped him write the book, in which "Cliff is going to talk freely and frankly about what it is like to be Cliff."

'Same sex marriages are perhaps a modern example of how things have changed', Sir Cliff said. 'Gone are the days when we assumed loving relationships would be solely between men and women. 'It seems to me that commitment is the issue and if anyone comes to me and says: "This is my partner - we are committed to each other" then I don't care what their sexuality is.'

Relationship: Sir Cliff Richard says he came close to proposing to Sue Barker

Sir Cliff also reveals how he nearly ended his famous 'bachelor boy' days by coming close to marriage. 'Of all the women I've known, there were only two that I've come close to marrying. One was Jackie Irving, a dancer whom I met in Blackpool. She was utterly beautiful and for a while we were inseparable. 'The other girl I came close to asking was Sue Barker, whom I met in 1982. 'I seriously contemplated asking her to marry me, but in the end I realised that I didn't love her quite enough to commit the rest of my life to her. There were no broken hearts.'

"True Blood" Review and Interview with Creator Alan Ball

Genre lovers, rejoice! There's some new blood in town, and he's bringing a hell of a lot of baggage with him.

This Sunday HBO premieres True Blood, a hotly-anticipated new vampire series from Alan Ball, who of course broke new ground for gay visibility and overall existential angst with the brilliant Six Feet Under (after nabbing an Oscar for his American Beauty screenplay). And while overall Blood is considerably breezier than the trials of the Fisher clan, Ball infuses his fang opera with plenty of the juicy complications and complex characters that we've come to expect from him.

The series, based on the Southern Vampire Mystery novels by Charlaine Harris, is set in an alternate present where vampires, who have lived secretly among us for centuries, have decided to "come out" after Japanese doctors perfected a synthetic blood for them, meaning that they no longer need to feed on humans. (I don't know why the fact that the doctors were Japanese is significant, but there ya go.)

Now that vamps can survive on TruBlood (available now at a mini-mart near you!), they want to assimilate into human society and enjoy all the rights that humans do. But their newly public presence also introduces a host of complications ... some expected, some not. Yes, people are leery of vampires, for obvious reasons. But vampire blood is also a potent drug for humans, acting like a mix of ecstasy and Viagra, leading to the rise of "Fangbangers", humans who get off on sex with vampires. The emergence of an entirely new underground culture runs parallel to the surface, where vampires just want to get along and lead normal non-lives.
...
From the first two episodes, True Blood is great fun. The sense of anticipation and danger is wonderfully present, the characters are fresh and lively, and the various mysteries set into motion are solid (I already have a few ideas as to what might be going on with a few of the characters, but we'll see...).

True Blood premieres on HBO this Sunday at 9 PM.

But L and the real Tooth do have so much in common, true.

The "real" Tooth? Does this mean there is a fake one around?

What i'm scared of is that since Jake doesn't seem to be coming out on his own in the future his "urgencies" are going to be exposed like Peewe Herman or Eddie Murphy were. As much as i hate to see Jake bearding, i don't want that kind of humiliation for him
:(

Although, that day this site is gonna Burn!!!!!....

Review of Brothers

"I just saw a test screening of this film and I must say... this is a very poor adaptation. It has none of the gritty feel of the original film, it never addresses the political issues at hand now that the Iraq war is in play, and basically comes off as a hollow imitation. All three of the lead actors give passable if not good performances (Tobey actually surprised me toward the end) but the film is just not hard hitting enough when it needs to be. Anyone interested in seeing this, just rent the original."

And check out the first comment to this post. Our friend Jack Bourassa, aka Brothers Spy on Gyllenbabble. I swear those people do not sleep!

Reese was Liev's pretend girlfriend in a film. Reese is Toothy's pretend girlfriend in real life.

Is this "real Toothy" explanation?

11:03 I can't say I'm surprised. The fact that there's absolutely no buzz for it is very telling.

Maybe reviewer's expectations were too high because the original was an excellent movie?

One Boyishly Bothered Blind Vice

Isn't it interesting Lloyd Boy-Toyed is undertaking his latest media campaign to fight off rumors about everything under the tabloid sun—every topic save the one he wants to get out: that he sometimes likes young dudes in bed. Not Michael Jackson-style, mind you, but he sometimes likes 'em young. And to keep quiet. And you know what that means, doncha girlfriends? Occasionally Mr. Boy-Toyed's gotta give 'em the green. What a cold, hard, cashed-out town this can be, huh?

Let's see, Lloyd's busy mouthing off about his nasty battles with most everybody in the Biz, not to mention his more cherished (and known) companions and relatives. He appears to be a total crank-a-thon, really, but don't believe it for a sec. Oh, some of it's real, that's fer sure, but it's mostly for show, I assure you.

I have firsthand knowledge of Lloyd's more cunning agendas—not to mention the ones he prefers to get underway under the covers. Don't ask me how. I can't tell! I'm a married man now! I would never embark on something as nasty as tattling 'tween the sheets when I've got a superhoney at home. Quite the opposite of how Lloyd goes about things, trust.

Really, though, as sloppy as Lloyd's getting in the attempting-to-score department, he's gonna be out long before our beloved Toothy Tile, I assure you. Oh, and Lloyd-baby, I don't care, really. But, your blind-as-merde fans sure will. I say screw it, already! (Like you have so many guys.)

Eddie Murphy is a good example that the real outing is next to impossible in Hollywood. People don't want to believe that actors could be gay!

P.S.

And don't want to believe that a lot of celebrities are lying and pretending most of the time.

^^ Very true. Travolta was photographed kissing a guy and his fans think he was just being "european." Larry Craig trolling for sex - old white Republicans think it was a silly misunderstanding. Clay Aitken - SIFs love this cheeseball and dream that he's going to be their babydaddy someday. LOL!

The die-hard fans cover their eyes and ears and sing la-la-la-la-la.

It's pathetic but poignant, too. We want to believe in our fantasies so badly.

There's something really queer about this picture. I mean, is that a taco in Gaycrest's mouth?!?

How Many People Are Shocked By This Photo of Ryan Seacrest Kissing Another Man?

Oh come on, you knew this day was coming. The day where you'd have to tear down all your Ryan Seacrest posters, scribble out his name in your notebooks, and stop planning for the time when you two could own all forms of media, forever and ever amen.

The day has arrived where there finally exists photographic evidence of Ryan Seacrest's alleged metrosexuality in action, with American Idol's Randy Jackson no less:

This picture is the opposite of Yum-o. This picture, however, is the definition of going full homo. No straight man can be in the same room with suspected terrorist Rachael Ray for that long, even if it is a synergistic promotion for both of your shows. (American Idol debuts on Monday and the Rachel Ray Show never ends. Ever.)

How about Kanye? He's always got a gripe with someone and rumors abound about his sexuality...

Diddy...non stop bitching and a lot of GAY rumours surrounding him for years right?
