First of all, Papa Smurf didn’t create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel’s evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village. But the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario, it just couldn’t happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don’t even have… reproductive organs under those little, white pants. Donnie Darko (2001)

Tom Holland Reveals Next 'Spider-Man' Movie Is Called 'Far From Home' said...

The 2019 sequel also stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the villain Mysterio.

The next Spider-Man movie is keeping on brand with its "home" theme. Tom Holland revealed on Instagram Saturday that Spider-Man: Far From Home is the title of the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Holland also continued the fun he's been having on social media, noting that following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the idea of a Spider-Man sequel seems rather impossible. (If you've seen it, you know why.)

The Far From Home title reflects that this will be the first Spider-Man solo movie to take the wallcrawler out of New York and put him in other parts of the world, such as London.

Sony and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Far From Home opens July 5, 2019 and will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to follow Avengers 4, which opens two months earlier. Homecoming director Jon Watts, who returns for the sequel, told THR last year that the film would see Spider-Man dealing with the fallout from Infinity War.

Spider-Man: Far From Home also stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the classic Spider-Man villain Mysterio. The film is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

I don't really care for the title tbh. All I care is that my favorite comic book character is going to get another movie with the actor behind my favorite portrayal of the character and with Jake Gyllenhaal as the villain. I can't ask for more, really.

I have a feeling Far From Home will be better than Homecoming and possibly the best comic book film of next year due to what they’re saying and Jake Gyllenhaal (who’s regarded as one of the best actors working currently) as the main antagonist (who himself is an awesome villain)

I have a feeling that Spider-Man: Far From Home will probably be a self-contained story that's gonna have some plot twists which is why I'm really excited for it considering that Jake Gyllenhaal is gonna do a phenomenal job as Quentin Beck/Mysterio.

Oh look, Austin isn't in France with Jake and "kids", LOL

The next Spider-Man film has an official title and it makes perfect sense said...

Jake Gyllenhaal will be the main villain. This could be great.

After Sam Raimi's original take on the character and Andrew Garfield's stint as the web slinger, Spider-Man fans might have felt that a little bit of Spidey-fatigue was setting in after hearing the news that the character was going to be rebooted again with Tom Holland playing the beloved character.

Well, their fears were unfounded because for our money, Holland is the best Spider-Man of all time. Yep, we're still not over that 'emo Spidey' from Spider-Man 3.

Whip smart, geeky, tough, funny, likeable and nervously cool, Holland made an instant impression in Captain America: Civil War - how good was that fight at Leipzig Airport? - and his arc has been superb to watch throughout Avengers: Infinity War and most notably, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

By shifting the focus away from the cliched death of Uncle Ben to a new 'surrogate father' relationship with Tony Stark, the writers have infused a new sesne of fun into the Spidey franchise and as for Holland's performance, well, was anyone else in bits during *that* scene at the end of Infinity War?

Prior to Thanos' fatal click of his fingers, we already knew that Spider-Man would be returning for his own standalone film and he's about to swing into action in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Tom Holland was appearing at ACE Comic-Con in Seattle, Washington this weekend, and in an Instagram video he gave us a little sneak peak at the latest reveal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, this title makes perfect sense because back in April, shortly before Avengers: Infinity War was released, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel, said that the new film was going to be set in London.

“We start filming early July. We film in London. We shot first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe," he said.

As for the cast, Tom Holland and Marissa Tomei will return as Peter Parker and Aunt May.
We expect Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (best friend Ned Leeds) to return also. What's most exciting for fans though is the fact that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing the villainous Mysterio.

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters July 5, 2019.

It’s how you know who the true OTP is. #AnyoneButLouis #AnyoneButAustin #AnyoneButJared RT @SimplyCharlie_: I hate this everyone but Louis mentality.. it’s like some think Louis isn’t worthy. ANYONE would be lucky to call Louis their partner/boyfriend.

ToothyTile&GGoose @GoosesTile 3h3 hours ago
#LRT those three mentioned OTP’s are still together. All three have longevity, they have perseverance. Don’t lose faith in them. Even tho with Jake/Austin and J2, they themselves try to steer fans wrong. They’re a bit different from larrie in that way.

ToothyTile&GGoose @GoosesTile 3h3 hours ago
Well, Tooth’s next film project should be quite interesting. He won’t be able to call the shots and no doubt the filming location was a huge draw for him. He was never going to do Rio and likely the composer film just a farce as well.

Jake Gyllenhaal is Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Actually this makes perfect sense. He probably doesn’t want to be a superhero that ends up with multiple films. This way he can get some of that MCU money and only needs to be in 1 film.

I mean you can only make weepy failed Oscar movies so much before you want a huge payday. A one off as a villain in the Marvel universe is probably a really fun way to make $10M and allow yourself to go make a Leonard Bernstein biopic. Ask Cate Blanchette.

Also he's starring in an adaption of the video game The Division (from one of the John Wick directors), so he seems to be letting some select big roles come his way. Prince of Persia is far enough behind him now.

^^^ said...

I mean, it’s well beneath him, and as a big fan I’d much rather he be in something better and worthy of his talent, but if he wants to be in something kids can actually watch and get a good payday while doing it, like cate branchlet, then all the power to him. His been compared a lot to DiCaprio recently, each with their integrity in the projects they pick, and this won’t help his case as he does this while leo does a Tarantino film. But it won’t harm his career either

jakeovereverything: After my previous video (Jake at 14 attending the premiere of a film his parents wrote and directed) I thought what a difference 9 years can make. Here is Jake and his father Stephen in 2004 where obviously Jake is the big draw now. I have to imagine there are many complexities in this family where everyone is involved in Hollywood, happy for your son becoming such a star but does that make you reflect on your own career? As Jake has said in interviews you have to be a bit narcissistic to work in the industry he is in but don’t get me wrong I am positive they are supportive and nothing but happy for each other. SEA WALL / A LIFE
Written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne, respectively
Directed by Carrie Cracknell
Featuring Tom Sturridge and Jake Gyllenhaal, respectively
January 26 – March 24, 2019

Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge make their Public Theater debuts in an unforgettable and incredibly intimate evening of theater. Sturridge, in his third collaboration with Tony and Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens, performs SEA WALL, an astonishing monologue about love and the human need to know the unknowable. Gyllenhaal continues his artistic collaboration with Olivier Award-nominated playwright Nick Payne in A LIFE, a meditation on how we say goodbye to those we love most. Directed by Carrie Cracknell, this heart-filled exploration of the beauty of life and the meaning of love, SEA WALL / A LIFE is an evening of dramatic storytelling at its best.

If its because Gyllenhaal said "No" remember how Jason Mamoa lied for 5 years that he wasn't playing Aquaman... Actors aren't allowed to confirm a role...the studio does that. His answer would be NO either way. That means nothing.
