It’s been five months since Colton Haynes first alluded to his sexuality in a post online, but he’s since confirmed that he is, indeed, gay.
“It was a complete shock,” he said of the attention his Tumblr post garnered, during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “I wasn’t ready to be back in the headlines.”
Haynes admits he didn’t feel ready at the time to make an official statement about his sexuality, especially after being advised early on in his career to downplay it.
“I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn’t ready. I didn’t feel like I owed anyone anything,” he said. “I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they’re ready, and I wasn’t yet. But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said.”

It looks like actor Colton Haynes maybe, sorta, kinda came out of the closet on Saturday on Tumblr.
The 27-year-old actor, who is most known for his starring roles on TV shows like Teen Wolf (on which he plays fan favorite Jackson) and Arrow, seems to have (inadvertently?) revealed that he’s gay while responding to the post of another Tumblr user. Well, maybe.
On Tumblr, a fan had posted, “When I found out Colton Haynes had a secret gay past, I got so excited even though I know it makes absolutely no difference in my life.”
Taking to his own official Tumblr blog, Haynes actually replied to the post directly, saying, “Was it a secret? Let’s all just enjoy life and have no regrets.” (There were some emojis thrown in for good measure.)

Now, while Haynes didn’t exactly say, “Yes, I’m gay,” his response did seem to confirm the fan’s speculation, and is being interpreted by many—fans and media alike—as him subtly coming out. And fans are freaking out about it, especially on Twitter: ...
So far, Haynes has not responded to the ignited speculation caused by his Tumblr post this weekend to confirm his sexuality, though we can all probably agree the answer was right there on his blog post.

People try to act nonchalant, but when he enters the room everyone cranes their neck to get a good look. It’s hard not to make a fuss over him, to be honest. One woman gets up from her desk as he paces over. Broad-shouldered and shaggy-haired, he has this knack for acknowledging everyone individually with his own kind of lazy charm. After sniffing a carton of leftover pad thai, he sits down on the floor, stretches his back leg and scratches behind his ear.
Leo is a German shepherd, and his appearance in this humble Boston office is causing quite a stir.
He certainly seems more popular than his owner, Jake Gyllenhaal, who pops in and out of the building and its various offices without so much as a glance from those around him.
It might be because he’s on official business – Gyllenhaal is producing and starring in a new film set in Boston, and as such has been based here for quite some time doing the sort of boring, thankless tasks that aren’t meant to be done by a successful actor. The film is due to shoot in a few weeks, and the subsequent long hours go a long way to explaining the takeaway carton full of noodles, which someone has sensibly scooped out of Leo’s path and put in the kitchen. Disheartened, the dog walks off in search of something better.
Gyllenhaal might be getting less attention than his dog, but it turns out he too is in a playful mood. In person, it turns out, Gyllenhaal is a nice mixture of goofy, off-piste and sardonic.

Now it looks like it’s become the topic du jour of the Hollywood elite. At least three separate high profile Hollywood personalities have each set off to make their own project on the same topic.
Last month this trailer for the disturbing documentary Holy Hell was released. The film, directed by Will Allen and produced in part by Jared Leto tells the story of Allen’s own twenty-year experience as a member of the bizarre Buddhafield cult in West Hollywood.
This Sundance festival favourite is the latest in a run of film and TV productions exploring the world of modern cults. It was also recently announced that the author of American Psycho Bret Easton Ellis will be directing his own series about the collective paranoia of a group of young people who have escaped from a cult in LA.
Meanwhile Jake Gyllenhaal, who spoke to us briefly about the project, is also turning to television and an anthology drama series that will focus on The Peoples Temple, a cult which in 1978 led to the mass suicide of more than 900 people, also known as Jonestown.
We spoke to Eileen Barker, Professor of Sociology at The London School of Economics, to find out more about our current fascination with cults. “The ‘different’, especially when seen as exotic, sensational, or sexy etc. always makes a better story than the ‘normal,” says Barker, “and many new religious movements, ‘cults’ and/or ‘sects’ are seen as one or more of these things.”

Back with new infos. The "Okja" New York scenes will indeed be filmed at the end of July. 23 July, to be exact. Which means the June starting date for "Life" must be accurate since Jake can't be in NY and London at the same time (wouldn't ubiquity be the coolest superpower?). Remember that meeting with the Financial District Committee on May 4? Here's a report and a design concept for the movie's big scene, a procession on Broad Street:
"Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano and a cast of hundreds including a giant pig balloon will be coming Downtown this summer for an epic procession on Broad Street. Although the pig is computer generated, the scene promises to be quite the spectacle. Set for filming on July 23, it will be part of an upcoming $50 million, Brad Pitt-produced movie for Netflix called “Okja.”
The scene calls for a crowd of 500 extras along a parade route from Water Street to a stage near the New York Stock Exchange, according to Joe Guest, the location manager. Three other shooting days on Broad Street, all on weekends, will take place within the secured area outside the Stock Exchange."
Small details about the characters give an insight into the plot and the importance of being Tilda Swinton: "The movie, directed and co-written by South Korean Bong Joon-ho and partially shot in Seoul, is billed as a monster flick in which Swinton plays twins, the CEO and CFO of a multinational corporation that sponsors an international competition among farmers to raise the best super pig. A little girl in Korea raises a giant pig named Okja, her best friend, that the corporation plans to bring to New York for a big promotional event on Broad Street. Gyllenhaal plays an animal rights activist and Dano an animal showman."
Isn't it the other way around? I remember reading that Dano will play the activist and Jake will play a zoologist. I also remember Jake himself saying he plays the host of an animal show. Like the master of ceremonies of the big animal parade? (flashes of Stanley Tucci's Caesar, HG's insane MC, come to mind) He could share scenes with Tilda since the event is put on by the corporation led by her characters.

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the highly anticipated drama Stronger, based on the true story of Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs during the Boston Marathon bombing three years ago. The actor released a first look at the movie on his Facebook page on Thursday.
Gyllenhaal posted a photo of himself and Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany with the caption: “Love is strong.” The film is a deeply personal account of Bauman’s journey, who was running the April 15, 2013 Boston marathon and was uninjured during a series of bomb attacks. The story highlights the heroic journey that came after that tragic day – defining a man’s inner courage, a community’s pride, a family’s bond, and an unexpectedly tenacious love.
The movie does not have a release date but is scheduled for sometime in 2017. It is currently filming in Boston and is being directed by David Gordon Green (Our Brand is Crisis).

Today I had the chance to sit in on a panel featuring Chloe Bennet, star of the ABC show Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I went into the panel not knowing what to expect from it. I have watched most of the show (though I admit to falling behind on the current season), but I am not familiar with any of her other work.
What I found was an actress full of fun and energy, not afraid to speak her mind, and not afraid to cuss. She had advice for the young ladies, funny anecdotes from filming with the rest of the cast, and a less than subtle opinion about how the show should fit into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also, about halfway through, her boyfriend (Austin Nichols) crashed the panel and added a bit more to it. Below are excerpts from her hour long Q&A session.

Q: If you could choose any character from a book to play, who would it be?
CB: Hermione. I actually wrote the studio (after they were already making the movies) and begged: Please let me play Hermione! It might not make a lot of sense, but I really got into acting a lot because of how much I loved Harry Potter. (Looking at Austin) How about you?
Austin Nichols: That is SO hard. What a hard question. I have so many favorite books.

Love the still Jake chose to raise awareness of what Stronger is all about. Sweet picture and a clear message that should stop people from calling it "the Boston marathon bombing movie" in the same breath with Wahlberg's political action extravaganza. Stronger isn't about the bombing, that scene takes less than 3 out of 183 pages! Jake is a smart cookie and takes good care of his movies when the producer status allows him (as an "actor for hire" the movies' fate is out of his hands).

Anyway, here's a video that was posted today from the beard's panel and at around 00:23 or so, watch for Austin to enter the panel. It's no wonder he was sent to this con - his guest stint was, in my opinion, solely to push the fake relationship.

Because given the tall tales and manufactured script that unfolded on stage today between Austie and the Beard at Wizard World, I really can’t tell what is more embarrassing. Awkward Austin trying to pretend he’s interested in anything Faux Chloe has to say. Or the latter’s pathetic attempt to use the opportunity to promote a fake domesticity. So much for the Iowa State motto of, “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.”

Haven't quite figured out yet how it all works, but I definitely believe Mgmnt is using young fans to have "encounters" and thereby GPS the guys where they need to or in Austin/Chlo's case, relay some kind of validity to their fake relationship.
Maybe Mgmnt bribes them with something as simple as the opportunity to get close to the celebrity, or maybe some level of future employment. But I have absolutely no doubt there are fan accounts being used for ulterior purposes.

Remember the two gals who were right there next to Austin at SXSW and one of them took her pic with him, the purple haired girl? You can see part of her hair in the pic at the top of this post. Look at how close she is to Austin. And the prince himself, Mr. Jake.
They're right there by the SUV, right next to Jake and Austin. Come on, in what world is that happening the way we've been watching since 2012? Maybe Austin, but not Jake. He's too paranoid, too private now.
