The Advocate: How did you decide you were going to be open about your sexuality?
Luke Evans: Well it was something I'd spoken to a lot of people about, including my boyfriend at the time - we've broken up now - but at the time when I just got Taboo, I knew that even though my part was a straight character, everybody knew me as a gay man and, in my life in London, I never tried to hide it. I knew I was going to have to do interviews with gay magazines, so I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to have to be open’. It’s who I am. And if people don’t like it, then I don’t want their jobs. I've never been a very good liar, which is another thing...
The Advocate: Aren't actors all good liars?
Luke Evans: Well, it's not nice. Look at George Michael, let's say. I mean, he hid it for so many years, and then he gets found out in a really awful way... Y'know, you start a slippery slope downward, and I don't want to start that at 22. If that means I'm going to be a poor man at 60, then at least I've lived a happy, open, gay life and not had to hide from anybody.
The Advocate: Do you think it might be different in the UK than in America?
Luke Evans: Well, it depends on how big you are. It's not a big issue, and it's never going to be a big issue for me; whether I'm successful or if I weren't successful, at least I'll never have that skeleton in the closet they can rattle out. Y'know what I mean?

RISING actor Luke Evans is rapidly gaining star status after landing yet another major Hollywood role and romancing Charlotte Church’s ex – ex-PA, that is.
Fresh from playing breastplate-baring Zeus in Immortals and Apollo in Clash Of The Titans, 31-year-old Evans is sword fighting once again in a re-make of The Three Musketeers.
And Evans, from Aberbargoed, is described as “top farmer totty” for his role in Brit-com Tamara Drewe, has a special reason to be careful with his blade now he is dating stunning fashion industry marketing expert Holly Goodchild.
Miss Goodchild, 27, former personal assistant to Welsh singing superstar Church, said at the Tamara Drewe movie premiere: “Luke’s lovely – we’re really old friends and it just sort of happened.”
She added: “We are nowhere near engaged but things are really good.”

When his brother came out, the Levines rallied together. "We all really wanted to provide some cushion for him and constantly let him know that it's OK," Levine tells OUT. "A lot of people don't want their kid to be gay and will fight it at all costs. But I've got news for you -- it's a losing f--king battle. The more you fight it, the more f--ked-up your kid's gonna be. You've just got to embrace it from the beginning. That's the only way to deal with it as a family."
Levine, who's currently dating Victoria's Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna, is proud of The Voice for featuring performers who are openly gay, two of whom made it to the finale.
"What's always pissed me off about American Idol is wanting to mask that, for that to go unspoken. C'mon. You can't be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break," he says. "You can't hide basic components of these people's lives. The fact that The Voice didn't have any qualms about being completely open about it is a great thing."

Minor detail!
Comment moderation here is certainly a puzzle sometimes.
Why would Austin wait 3.5 months to post a picture of his car, and then talk about his "new car". Do you wait 3.5 months to tell your friends you got a new car? Don't think so. Plus the car doesn't have a license plate yet, why would someone take a picture of a brand new car, and then wait 3.5 months to post. That makes no sense.
More likely he ordered one, and he recently picked it up.

Some of the plants in Japan have been unable to produce autos due to the disaster (earthquake, tsunami and nuclear), and deliveries to the US are greatly delayed. A new car to certain specifications (certain color, etc.) sometimes has to be ordered in any case.

I asked him some personal questions, he never asked anything personal back though, which made me wonder... if he's interested he'd ask more about me, right? I was always the first who started talking to him. Then I asked the female c.w. what the deal was with them and to my surprise she admitted he was in love with her (which didn't surprise me judging by the way he interacts with her), but she wanted to stick with her bf. Hm. Now I stopped smiling at him and a few days ago he asked me if everything was ok (he must have noticed). I said yes. But I didn't change my distanced attitude. Yesterday he was kind of cold towards me. I wonder why, if he is in love with her and probably not interested in me?

Anderson has been saying in recent interviews that he knows it's a two way street when you're asking people to give you personal info about themselves on national television and you don't open up yourself. From the sound of things, he's starting to hint that he may open up more and reveal more of his life with viewers. I don't think he'll ever be really comfortable about doing it, but I think he's going to try. It would help his show for one thing.
While it is ultimately his (Anderson Cooper) right to stay technically closeted, he isn't anti-gay after all, his keeping that veil really serves no purpose at this point as it is an open secret that he is gay and lives with his boyfriend and by coming out he would only help young gay kids to realize that there is hope and a future for them. Of course, not only would he be incredibly late to the game at this point (after Thomas Robers, Rachael Maddow, and others) he doesn't need the money as a Vanderbildt descendant, so ultimately the only remaining reason is either cowardice, self loathing, or that he just doean't give a damn about helping the gay community or vulnerable gay kids.

I don't follow much about Anderson Cooper but did he reallly say that and does he really believe that? Being a chat show host has nothing to do with his personal life; it's not about him after all but rather it's about his guests. I think at this point everyone knows he's gay but he prefers not to shout it from the rooftops. He's not obligated to.

Reporters who go to certain countries are always at risk, whether they are gay or straight. After all, Andersen was attacked on the street while he was in one of those MIddle Eastern countries covering the protests. Lots of journalists and photographers have been injured or killed in war zones, covering drug wars in Mexico, etc.
Women reporters do go to Muslim countries, even though the women who live there are often treated horribly.
It is highly unlikely that something would happen to a journalist just because they are gay and step foot in a country that has horrendous laws against gays, without something more happening (e.g., being caught having sex in a public place).

Judging from some of the show topics, I don't think Anderson will ever open up about his own life on the show. Most of the topics they sound interested in covering are working mom/kids/family oriented - AC can easily keep his distance and just be an observer with subjects like this and not have to reveal much about himself which is what he prefers overall. But that's going to be boring.
He's (Anderson) been talking up the daytime show as a vehicle to show more sides of himself and what he's interested in. He said he has a wide variety of interests and that he wanted that to be a big part of the show. He may be doing a lot of work now, but he's done so much in his life, seen so many people and been in so many different situations - there's a lot he could talk about. I think the people who are interested in watching him would like to know more about him too.

Jake Gyllenhaal thinks the rivalry on movie sets helps actors stay grounded.
The 30-year-old hunk has enjoyed a successful film career since shooting to fame in cult hit Donnie Darko in 2001, and has managed not to let fame go to his head. Jake credits his down-to-earth nature to being mocked on film sets, which he thinks stops all actors from becoming big headed.

Fox gets 'Guidance' from Ryan Reynolds
Film star's DarkFire shingle sells comedy script
If this whole film career thing doesn't work out, at least Ryan Reynolds can fall back on TV production.
The "Green Lantern" star and 20th Century Fox TV have sold a script with a penalty attached to Fox through his DarkFire shingle. Tyler Labine is attached to star and executive produce "Guidance," a single-camera adult buddy comedy set in a high school.
Fox was so interested in purchasing "Guidance" that it bought it in the room Friday before DarkFire could continue pitching the project to the other networks later in the day. Also on board to executive produce are the project's writer, Tim Dowling ("Role Models"), Jonathon Komack Martin, Steven Pearl and Allan Loeb, who started DarkFire with Reynolds earlier this year. They have a first-look deal at 20th TV.
The studio has had a busy week between "Guidance" and an untitled Sarah Silverman script that sparked a bidding war from which NBC emerged the victor. 20th teamed with Imagine TV on the project.
Labine continues to be a hot commodity in front of the camera, though he's yet to translate his appeal into long-term TV success. He's been featured in short-lived series "Mad Love," "Sons of Tucson" and "Reaper" in recent years.
