^^2010 has been a massive year for Taylor Swift, who took home a number of awards, appeared in the blockbuster romantic comedy "Valentine's Day," and scored a chart-topping album with Speak Now.
And Monday (December 13), the pop-country chanteuse will officially turn 21 years old. And while we don't know what boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal might be getting her, we do have some idea what she might be doing on the big day.
With her birthday so close to Christmas, Swift revealed to MTV News back in October that she had big plans for the milestone birthday. She explained, "The plans for the 21st birthday probably are going to be winter-themed. I love winter. I love Christmas."
Swift, who admits she's not much of a party girl, will make sure the party is focused more on the season than her.
"When I was a little kid and I was growing up, they'd always have a Santa Claus guy show up and take everybody's wishes or what they wanted for Christmas. I'm not gonna do that, but there'll definitely be lots of Christmas-themed things," she revealed.
So, will that include some spiked eggnog? "Well, you know, legally, I could," she teased.
In an interview with People.com, she said she even has the perfect place for the party. "I'd really like to have it in my condo," she explained about throwing the bash in Nashville. "I think that would be wonderful."
While turning 21 means Swift can legally drink alcohol, that's not the main reason she's excited about the milestone birthday.
"It'll be cool that I'll be able to go to a lot of concerts that my friends always go to and I sit at home because it's 21 and over," she said. "Other than that, I don't think I'm going to all of a sudden start being in love with the idea of going to a club."
So, why doesn't Swift plan on partying too hard?
"Maybe I'll have a glass of wine, but nothing too hard-core for me. I've never had the burning desire to drink," she told Ladies Home Journal. "I need to be in control of what I say, and if I drank, I'd stress out about saying the wrong thing at the wrong time."

Dawson's Creek costars and best friends Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps brought their daughters Matilda and Birdie out for brunch in LA on Saturday.
The actresses met on the set of the TV show and have remained close with Michelle even asking Busy to be Matilda's godmother. Four-year-old Matilda and two-year-old Birdie are carrying on the tradition already as they playfully swung in the air and climbed around during their trip to pick up flowers at the supermarket. Michelle has been out promoting Blue Valentine and at an event on Thursday she revealed that Busy was her moral support during difficult parts of filming. Busy also attended Michelle's LA screening hosted by Matilda's other godparent, Jake Gyllenhaal, and the intense role just earned both Williams and Ryan Gosling Critics Choice Awards nominations. The Cougar Town star still has high hopes that Williams will find a way to guest star on the series, and we'd love to see Michelle show off her comedy skills too.

I've got some questions about this whole beard business. How does one become a beard? For instance, is there a resume you must submit, stating your qualifications for the job? Are there interviews with your prospective bearding subject? Who picks the beard—the agent, the actor/actress themselves or someone else? I can imagine the conversation: "Hey, so and so is gay and needs someone to be a beard for a year...you in?" Fascinating way to spend your time, fer sure!

The BFCA have revealed their "Critics Choice" nominees and Black Swan looms like an evil tutu'ed shadow over the competition with a record breaking 12 nominations. True Grit and The King's Speech were second with 11 nominations each, indicating that the BFCA voters really do like the films they've just seen the most. The BFCA has long been known (and celebrated and reviled) as being obsessed with predicting the Oscars. It's a curious character quirk for an awards body that ought to be concerned with establishing its own voice and one that would be a smidgeon more respectable, even as pure punditry, if they'd only limit their acting categories to 5 nominees like the Oscars do. When individual pundits are judged on their predictive power, they aren't allowed extras, you know? But ah well.

IMO a lot of them don't care because they figure they can afford to have skin treatments like filler and Botox injections, plastic surgery, etc. Also they probably figure that they have a lot of time to work on the lung transplant details or that maybe cancer will be cured by the time they get old!

As the holidays approach, Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal will likely split time between their families again like they did for Thanksgiving. But what traditions will Swift be in for if she celebrates with Gyllenhaal's family in New York?
According to Gyllenhaal's sister, Maggie, the family tradition is to relax, spend time with family and enjoy lox bagels for breakfast.
"I'm Jewish, so we already celebrated Hanukkah. For Christmas, we just have time off. We'll be around the whole time and have a real New York Christmas," Gyllenhaal explained at the Beauty & Essex restaurant opening in New York.
Swift will likely rock around the Christmas tree when they spend time with her family in Nashville. "I love winter. I love Christmas," she recently told MTV. "When I was a little kid and I was growing up, they'd always have a Santa Claus guy show up and take everybody's wishes or what they wanted for Christmas."

Even if the new couple was real there is no interest in them. Such an obvious mismatch it wont last much longer. Count the ways. She's 21, he's 30. Only the very young think that does not matter. She's Christian, he's Jewish. From a NY Jewish family no less. (not a derogatory comment, I am Jewish too.) She likes to dress up and sometimes changes outfits 4 times a day. Except for a premiere where he is told what to wear and given a custom made outfit, he wears the same t-shirt and jeans for days until they fall off his back. She's country, he's city. As ambitious as he seems, she is way more ambitious than he and still at the start of her career. She makes him look like a slacker. She'll see that in no time. They are probably equally intelligent so they do have that going for them.

Believe me … I see the best and worst out of people. I’m on sets all day long. The only time I ever saw Michelle behaving in an unprofessional manner was when she had the flu and began crying when the director wanted another take. Why did she cry? It was a scene where she had to raise her voice repeatedly and it was hurting her throat. She asked for a break and came back and put four more takes in the can.
And no, she was never dating a script producer for the show. I know that personally.

Actually "mismatches" make the best couples sometimes! But the difference (besides the bearding) with Swyll is you can tell there's no "connection" between them. Heidi Klum and Seal are opposites on so many levels but when I see pics of them there's no doubt they are in a sexy relationship together. I can't explain it but even though couples, even regular ones on the street, may be total opposites in looks, age, likes, etc. you can tell, you can feel it, if they are a couple. Jake Gyllenhaal was all the intoxication Taylor Swift needed at her 21st birthday party at her Nashville home on Monday night.
A source tells UsMagazine.com that Swift celebrated her big milestone with Gyllenhaal, close pals and no booze at a "small" and "super low key" bash at home.
Although she's now of legal age, Swift didn't drink alcohol at the Christmas-themed bash, the reveler says. In fact, the source says, "no one was drinking" during the fete.
But she and Gyllenhaal were "cuddly and so cute" and "obsessed" with one another, the reveler says.
The party-goer adds that no other celebs surfaced for the fete at the country star's recently purchased home, which was decorated with yuletide decorations throughout.
"I want a Christmas-themed birthday, because I love Christmas as much as my birthday," Swift recently told Us Weekly in Taylor Swift: Inside My World. "Combining the two just seems like the perfect festivity."

The Golden Globes will never be accused of accurately measuring the pulse of cinematic achievement but they do slap electro-paddles on awards season. Taylor Swift Wears a 'Cute Tiara' at Family-Filled Birthday Party

On her first night as a 21-year-old, Taylor Swift partied – with her parents.
The country star passed up bar-hopping for a Christmas-themed birthday bash with "Team Taylor" at her family's home in Hendersonville, Tenn. – but without beau Jake Gyllenhaal, who was in L.A.
"Turning 21 has never been a big deal for her so it was basically the same type of party she always has: family and friends and her band and crew," a friend tells PEOPLE.
Swift – who spent her birthday morning visiting a Nashville radio show and meeting up with pal Julianne Hough – played chef with her mother, Andrea, preparing an array of hearty hors d'oeuvres for the 70 or so guests, who also nibbled on catered sushi selections as Christmas tunes played in the background.
"Taylor was in high spirits and was sporting a cute tiara," says the friend. "Everyone was saying how good the food was and wondering how in the world they had time to do it."

I had to wear a tiara during my bday party a few years ago (they made me do it). Don't knock it til you tried it!♥
How boring she is. IMO people like that end up going wild at age 35, wondering about all they missed and trying to make up for lost time. (Plus they hurt a lot of people by then, - kids, spouse, etc.) IMO Taylor is either going to end up like that or she's being phony now.
