I think it would be great if Jake won the GG. I don't know what his chances are, though, and I'm not sure what it would mean in the long-term for his career. I guess "GG winner" would proceed his name every time it appeared in print but I don't know if it would all of a sudden make him the go-to guy.

Latest report on "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" casting has put the names of Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy on the line-up. According to Pajiba, both stars are up for lead roles with the actress touted as the depicter of Elizabeth Bennett and the actor circling the role of Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Nothing has been set in stone for Hathaway and McAvoy's participation as they are currently still 'under consideration'. Previously, Scarlett Johansson was thrown as the potential female lead after Natalie Portman dropped out of the project. Bradley Cooper was also said to be the leading actor.
Still on the same article, Pajiba addresses report saying that Hathaway could star in "Barbarella". While she is indeed interested in the remake film, the project has been stuck in development for years and her involvement could not make sure that it will move forward.
"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is a big screen adaptation of bestselling book written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen. It is set in an era when zombies roam the English countryside. The film will see Elizabeth Bennett as a feisty heroine who is distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy.

Gyllenhaal, 29, was nominated Tuesday for a Golden Globe for his performance in Love and Other Drugs. USA Today coyly asked who his date might be for the affair.
Laughing, the star said, "Dude, I didn't think I was getting nominated." Added the star, who spent at least five weekends together with Swift, 21, plus a Brooklyn Thanksgiving: "It's going to be a long, slow burn for me. I'm not rushing into anything!"
The star admitted he was "asleep" and "didn't wake up" when nominations were announced at 5:30 a.m. L.A. time.
"It was pretty unexpected. I got a call and then I checked my phone and I had 25 e-mails, and it was either disconcerting or exciting. In this case it was exciting," Gyllenhaal said.
How psyched is he? "I'm going to really soak this in. I'll be with my family and I'm excited for the holidays. I'm not going to deny any awesome feelings."

IDK about "into" but I noticed Anne deffo seemed to like Jake more than vice versa. Very obvious to me. Add to that Jake forgetting to thank her during his acceptance speech and him gushing over Michelle's acting when Anne had much more scenes with him.

One of the unexpected surprises at this weekend's tribute to Michelle Williams at the Aero Theatre in Los Angeles was the first glimpse of footage from "My Life With Marilyn," an adaptation of Colin Clark's memoir from the set of "The Prince and the Showgirl," on which he was an assistant to Laurence Olivier and witnessed the tensions on the production between his boss and Marilyn Monroe. The fleeting bit of footage was as much a tease as Monroe herself, a montage of dialogue-free clips with Williams striking iconic poses such as being surrounded by a phalanx of photographers and reporters as Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott) escorts Monroe off an airport tarmac or playfully drifting across the lawn of her Connecticut home before climaxing with a scene of the bombshell teasing Clark (Eddie Redmayne) with a song as she lounges in a bathtub.
"I grew up with this picture of [Monroe] in my bedroom," said Williams, in what were her first public comments about the role outside of a Daily Mail interview right after the shoot wrapped last week. "It's a picture of her at the house in Connecticut, Roxbury where she and Miller lived and this picture of her wearing this white dress and she's barefoot and she's spinning and her head's back and she's smiling, it very natural. So my primary association of her is of that, so she's kind of always felt less of an icon and a bit more of a friend. So that was a decent place to start."
Speaking to a room peppered with Screen Actors Guild members who were clearly won over when she said co-star Kenneth Branagh was "more Laurence Olivier than Laurence Olivier" in the film, Williams also acknowledged the difficulty in trying to portray such an iconic figure as Monroe, saying, "There has never been and maybe will never be someone as beautiful as Marilyn Monroe. Like I'm not a drag queen -- I'm not going to get plastic surgery to look like her. I have limitations in terms of how much I can resemble her, so instead what I can master, what I can strive for is her essence."
Clearly, the Weinstein Company, who will distribute "My Life With Marilyn," already has an eye on next year's awards race, though their reason for sponsoring the tribute was Williams' performance in "Blue Valentine." Both "Blue" director Derek Cianfrance and Ang Lee offered video testimonials - Cianfrance praised Williams and said, "I feel like if you were a man in the silent era of movies, you'd be Buster Keaton because you're so intensely cinematic. When I see you on the screen, it seems like there's a thousand storms raging inside of you." Likewise, Williams' "Brokeback Mountain" director got one of the biggest laughs of the night after tacking on a note of fear to go with his admiration: "She's such a brilliant actress and a very serious one that can be really intimidating... a little scary."
As for Williams, the tribute was conveniently scheduled before a screening for "Blue Valentine," so she let her latest film speak for itself.

If only the newspaper’s own strategy wasn’t just to throw stories against the wall and hope to “get lucky.”
Anyway, the outlet claims Gyllenhaal ”has forked out £7,000 [$11,000] on a rare guitar as a 21st birthday present” for Taylor Swift. Specifically, says The Sun, Gyllenhaal picked out a Fender Gretsch – signed by country music legend Chet Atkins – that Swift had “drooled over” in a Nashville store.
“He was originally going to buy it just as a gift, but it ended up being perfect for her birthday on Monday,” explains a so-called “source.”

How come Gossip Cop is so committed to verifying all of the BS stories out there about Jake and the cheerleader? I think it's great that they are showing how high the level of fiction is from these tabloids, but are they doing it so that can eventually say that the whole romance was fake, or are they doing it on PR's behalf so they can keep up the "Jake is so private but the tabloids make things up" line.
PR can't say "tabloids make things up" because Jake's "relationships" are based on tabloid stories.

Out of the blue and after 2.5 years, Jake all of a sudden makes reference to a "girlfriend" in an interview, while Reese is sitting back laughing her ass off, probably clicking champagne glasses with Toth. More scrambling and phone calls and the "official" break-up story is announced (the usual "mutual" b.s.). Jake is a good boy and keeps his mouth shut and Reese makes sure everyone knows that he was crazy in love and dying to marry her, but he's immature and needy and she already has two kids, lol. Shortly thereafter, we get the "Toth is a real man" articles.

Jake as an actor in movies IMO should be a bit of a mystery and an enigma. The bearding is bad enough but being perceived as unexciting, unavailable and settled-down is worse IMO.
