We had only another 10 minutes, and there were some things I needed to talk to him about. For starters, Jake has rarely talked publicly about Heath Ledger’s death. I wasn’t sure if I’d get anything out of him, but I had to ask.
“A year ago, Entertainment Weekly spoke to a lot of people for a piece about Heath Ledger. The screenwriter, producer and cinematographer of Brokeback Mountain all talked. You were conspicuously absent. Are you uncomfortable remembering him in public?”
“Yes,” he said, pausing. “Brokeback was painful. Any time you go into pain, I don’t think you necessarily want to go back. But the results of that film, and how the public responded to it so hugely, were worth it. Walking through any kind of pain is usually worth it. As close as we all became making that movie, for all those other people, it didn’t extend much farther than [the movie itself], so that experience of work could be easily talked about for publications. The experience Heath and I had was also shared publicly with all the press and publicity we did. But what we shared as friends, though I respect the interest that so many people have in the mourning and grieving process and how it feels to other people, I feel like — and I don’t mean this in an unkind way — but I don’t think it’s anybody’s business but his and mine. So in that sense, to really respect him — and also the way he felt about his life and his private life and what he cared about, because he was a deeply caring and loving human being — every time anybody asks me any question about him, it would be like he was sitting next to me, and I know he would roll his eyes, because that’s the way he was. It was between us.”
If we didn’t talk about anything else, I knew I had something of consequence. And I was confident that what Jake had just said was as far and as deep and as sincere as he could go with this — you could feel the anguish in his words. So I moved on.

I think I am right, though I have no inside knowledge, so I could be way wrong.
My opinion is that the Jake/Heath situation is similar to the Jake/Michelle one. They see each other every once in a while, but mostly keep in touch per phone. J/H shared this huge experience that was BBM (from filming to promotion to experiencing its success), hence Jake becoming the symbolic gf of Heath's baby girl. But after all that, the contact was mostly per phone IMO, with Michelle it's the same.

Terry is over 70 years old, while I think Terry and Heath were friends I doubt they went out together much. Terry did say Heath came to his house with Matilda in tow. As for Johnny, I think they were rather acquaintances than friends, but Johnny sure had a lot of respect for Heath (read quotes from him about Heath) and Heath was reportedly a big Johnny admirerer. Okay, I was looking at Austin's twitter page, and saw that he had responded to a woman using the name hazlezuzuki. The name sounded so familiar, so I went and looked her up. I don't know if anyone else remembers, but last December around Christmas this woman posted that she saw Austin and Sophia in LA. I remember watching her twitter account for awhile because she had just opened it up, and made it sound like she was on a vacation in LA and happened to seem them. She stopped tweeting after New Year's Eve. I thought it was a plant at the time.
Now, she has claimed she "lost" her password for the past six months, and just started tweeting again on June 18. And what does she do--post a tweet to Austin about loving JFC, and of all the tweets he has gotten over the past couple of days, he just happened to answer this one.

I don't know much about Austin and even less about Sophia, but their ridiculous tweeting doesn't put them in a good light at all, to put it mildly. To me they both come across as desperate, pathetic, shallow, immature and not very bright. And using a disaster like this to promote yourself is flat-out disgusting. Jake would be wise to stay clear of both of these cheesy soap actors looking for attention.

Maybe to keep conversation alive, to laugh, have fun? Busy strikes me as that kind of lively, fun person. Michelle is shy, quiet, Jake is a joker, an extrovert. I just don't see them work as friends. And I remember some of the annoyed glances Jake gave Michelle during BBM promo, lol. They said a lot. ;)

LOL, please stop. Just because a poster thinks they don't click as friends it doesn't mean they hate Michelle. My opinion is they get along fine but I don't think they're close friends either or that they ever wanted to be. I read a couple of reports by people who saw Jake, Heath and Michelle together at a BBM Q&A, one said Jake and Michelle's eyes "only met at Heath" and the other that Michelle was the third wheel. I think the reason Jake sees Matilda is because he cared about Heath.
