Talking about little kids, here is video with pictures of Ricky and his twins ... :)

I'm not even sure Jake said the kids in his life in that "interview" , sounds like something the reporter added in. I don't think she actually interviewed/talked to Jake, he may have been talking to a group of reporters.

Like all the Rachel stuff although his comments are in quotes, but the lego stuff isn't.

Sounds like something Popsugar added to mention legos, they do a lot of PR stuff on that site and they forgot for a split second that the blonde and her kids are gone.

People usually don't refer to their friend's kids as being part of their life.

Why not? If they're good friends, the kids may very well be a part of your life. Some people see their friends more often than their families. Besides, I think his answer is being taken too literally. It makes good press to say he'll be playing with the toys with kids. If he had a child he was so carefully hiding, he's certainly not going to "slip up" and mention it at a press conference.

Jake Gyllenhaal Talks Prince of Persia, iPad, and Beautiful Rachel McAdams in SF!

WonderCon came to San Francisco this weekend, which meant lots of star power in the Bay Area including a very handsome Jake Gyllenhaal — check out Buzz's take on all the highlights with videos to come soon! Jerry Bruckheimer joined Jake who chatted about playing video games as research for Prince of Persia and how he feels about the 3D trend in movies. After the panels Jake headed to the Disney cocktail party, where the iPad was the talk of the town and of course Jake had one to play with. Jake told us how excited he is to see himself as a Lego for Prince of Persia, a toy that he still gets to play with thanks to the little kids in his life. He's currently filming Source Code in Canada with Vera Farmiga, which he said has been an amazing experience. Jake also got cute talking about how gorgeous Rachel McAdams looked on Oscar night, though he admitted that he left a few footprints on her long dress! Stay tuned for lots more details from the festival to come.

Awww, I love that video with Ricky, especially the scene of the babies resting on either side of his head. :) They're both beautiful children, but little Valentino is gorgeous! :)

The reported might made up the whole thing, but "little kids in his life" part doesn't sound like something added by the reporter.

it's just odd that the legos would be brought up at the Disney/IPad party when according to all the videos I saw, the legos weren't brought at the Con and you would think it would unless I missed it.

Seems out of the blue along with the Rachel question again out of the blue and had nothing to do with anything that day, at least the legos did.

he got cute talking about Rachel, but did he really?

They claimed that he told them that he was excited to see himself as Prince of Persia for lego (BTW, I swear that he said this in an earlier interview)and then they said that a toy that he still gets to play with thanks to the little kids in his life. Now that last part could easily have been added but IMO I think that 90% of the whole thing is made up.

I forgot how hot is Ricky Martin, that 'Tal Vez' video is a good reminder :)

If Jake really said all that about Rachel and the kids in his life why didn't they give the direct quotes? Nah, I agree with 2:42 PM.

Jake Gyllenhaal Talks About Becoming an Action Hero For Prince of Persia at WonderCon!

The highlight of this weekend's annual WonderCon event was definitely the cast of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time — namely star Jake Gyllenhaal. Before Pop and I went to a party to chat him up, I had a chance to ask him about the movie and his turn as an action star, and he also joked about being turned into a LEGO for the role and whether his education helped him prepare. Watch it below and then tell me just how dreamy you think he is!

Sorry, I meant you as in the media, not 3:07 PM.

Jake says in the video "most of the kids I know who’ve seen that there’s a Lego actually think now this movie is cool". How did they go from this to "Jake told us how excited he is to see himself as a Lego for Prince of Persia, a toy that he still gets to play with thanks to the little kids in his life."? It’s just funny to me how he says one thing and they write something else.

Was the bit about kids in his life taken from the same source--i.e., is it possible there was a different interview?

If not, bad reporting.

Jake Gyllenhall slings zing about Prince of Persia, Parkour, Bruckheimer and new projects.

Some weeks back Jake Gyllenhaal was paraded in front of TV cameras in Los Angeles to do some special in-costume publicity for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Word is that he got very upset that I couldn't be there, but luckily phone numbers were exchanged and we had a chance to speak.

Below are highlights from a conversation about Prince Dastan, Jerry Bruckheimer, Parkour, Duncan Jones and David O. Russell. Enjoy!

Jordan Hoffman: So what do they have you doing right now? Are you in costume?

Jake Gyllenhaal: I am. It’s strangely embarrassing. [I’m not 100% sure he was joking here.] They made me put my costume back on.

Jordan Hoffman: Really? Are you in leather straps right now on the telephone?

Jake Gyllenhaal: Leather straps, and this wig that’s very hot. But I never wore a wig in the movie; but since my hair is short they’re forcing me to wear a wig today.

Jordan Hoffman: I have no idea if you’re telling me the truth or not. That’s what’s so wonderful about this.

Jake Gyllenhaal: Thank God you don’t see me, because if you did I’d put on my British accent for you.

Jordan Hoffman: Jerry Bruckheimer is a Hollywood behemoth. This guy has made so many big, explosive, fun summer movies. When you heard “my God, I’m going to work with Jerry Bruckheimer” what did you first flash on?

Jake Gyllenhaal: Oh, Top Gun man.

Jordan Hoffman: Absolutely, wow. What’s your favorite scene from Top Gun?

Jake Gyllenhaal: When the dude [James Tolkan] is like, “You jokers are goin’ to Top Gun!” You know that scene where he’s like “Damn you Maverick!”

Jordan Hoffman: You know what I love about that, is that he says the name of the movie in that scene.

Jake Gyllenhaal: He does, it’s the best. He’s like...what does he say? What are the other names, the craziest names of the characters?

Jordan Hoffman: Uh, you mean Ice Man? Or Goose?

Jake Gyllenhaal: No, not them, but Goose and Ice Man are awesome. They’re like Green Leaf and Dirt Man, or something [Cougar and Merlin, actually.] Like, “Daisy fell off so you two jokers are goin’ to Top Gun!” That’s my favorite.

One Dreamy Prince: Jake Gyllenhaal One-on-One Interview said...

Jordan Hoffman: I know you can’t give away too much about the film, but does somebody actually say “you are the Prince of Persia, and you have the Sands of Time”? Is the title in the film in the dialogue?

Jake Gyllenhaal: I’m trying to remember. No, no because the truth is Dastan the character is not legitimately the Prince of Persia because he’s picked up off the streets actually, as a kid. So he’s not a blood, he’s only a prince at heart.

Jordan Hoffman: Well, a leader shall lead; from blue blood or not. As you will teach us on May -

Jake Gyllenhaal: May 28th! May 28th! But we’ll be teaching you all month.

Jordan Hoffman: Nice. So have you played any of the games? Be honest with me.

Jake Gyllenhaal: I played the original game when I was a kid actually. The original side scroller. And then I took a long, long hiatus from it until I read the script of this movie. And then in research for the movie, I played pretty much all the games. Mostly Sands of Time.

Jordan Hoffman: Sands of Time is pretty damned addictive and aggravating. Did you ever finish?

Jake Gyllenhaal: No, I never finished it. But you know that section, the water section? Where you have to run from wall to wall, to get over the water? My God, that took me days and days and days.

Jordan Hoffman: You could make a call, though, you can call them up and be like hey I’m going to be in this damn thing let’s give me some ways out; but you stuck with it, I like that.

Jake Gyllenhaal: I stuck with it...but I would you know, bring in the stuntman to my trailer when I was playing and I’d be like, “guys can we do this? Can we figure out how to do this move?”

Jordan Hoffman: That’s awesome... In your daily life, when you were shooting this and now afterwards as you do the publicity do you find yourself moving furniture around and jumping on top of things? And uh, looking behind cabinets and what not? Is that ingrained in your soul now?

Jake Gyllenhaal: Is that one of the definitions of Parkour? Looking behind cabinets?

Jordan Hoffman: That’s the actual French translation. No, really, you do in the game though!

Jake Gyllenhaal: Ha. Yeah, David Belle [“founder” of Parkour] is amazing but, yeah, you’re right. You do look behind cabinets and stuff and put boxes on top and smash boxes with your sword and stuff like that – and drink water and get more energy - which I did a lot of. I did a lot of that. I don’t necessarily drink water to get more energy in the movie, but I did while we were shooting. So there are things that are gained and things that are lost.

One Dreamy Prince: Jake Gyllenhaal One-on-One Interview said...

Jordan Hoffman: What’s the coolest weapon you get to play with in this movie? – I’m considering the dagger a weapon.

Jake Gyllenhaal: It is not a weapon! In fact, I think it was only used once at one point to do something like that in the movie. But it’s not a weapon really at all. Uh, it’s a weapon of the mind. I – I uh, I wield two swords; the same sword – mimics of each other, and with my Parkour skills. The coolest weapons are the Hassansin’s who are like the henchmen. I have a really great fight with this Hassansin who has whips with blades at the ends of them which was all shot at like ten-thousand feet in the Atlas Mountains on this incredibly steep slope. I have a spear fight where, much like in the early moments of the video game when you first arrive.

I think, though, the weakness of video game adaptations in the past has been that they’ve tended to lean too much on the video game. They’ve not been able to veer off in creating real characters that you care for, a storyline that really works, you know. And also the action is so beyond reality, that people are like “I can just go back to my house and play this game, I don’t need to watch this movie” you know? And with this, it’s not that at all.

Jordan Hoffman: So, how much of the actual Parkour training did you actually do for this film, and when you walk around major cities, like New York do you find yourself really itching to jump around on things and test these skills out?

Jake Gyllenhaal: I trained with David Belle, the inventor of Parkour and a lot of different acrobats. I had a few doubles on the movie, one named is Mark Fichera. And he was extraordinary; and we did – I did training with acrobats in Los Angeles before I went to London for a month of preproduction and prep. And I learned all the basic moves of parkour, which surprisingly were much harder than I’d expected them to be; and since then I have not really applied those skills to the rooftops of the cities I live in but don put it past me.

Jordan Hoffman: Before I want to go, I want to ask you –

Jake Gyllenhaal: You know you sound like Jimmy Kimmel?

Jordan Hoffman: What are you trying to say? All New Yorker Jews are the same? [Actually, Kimmel is actually, Italian – ed.]

Jake Gyllenhaal: Oh, are you a New York Jew? [Yelling to his handlers.] Why am I talking to a New York Jew? Who put me on the phone with the New York Jew?

Jordan Hoffman: We have a mutual friend in [redacted] by the way.

Jake Gyllenhaal: Oh, great, another New York Jew. This is making me – I don’t know what to say. Who put me on the phone with this guy? I won’t mention that if you don’t mention me, cuz I’m a New York Jew.

Jordan Hoffman: Oh, no. That’s under wraps we don’t talk about those things – a gentlemen’s agreement. So you’re about to shoot this Duncan Jones movie right?

Jake Gyllenhaal: Yes.

Jordan Hoffman: Can you tell me a little bit about your involvement in this film? The character that you will be playing?

Jake Gyllenhaal: The movie is called Source Code. Duncan is directing it, and the character I play is a character named Coulter Stevens and he’s a helicopter pilot who flies helicopters for the Air Force in Afghanistan and all of a sudden – well you learn that, but he wakes up on a train in the middle of Chicago and he has no idea how he got there or where he is. And uhm, there’s a woman talking to him across from him who seems like she knows him but he doesn’t know who she is and when he sees his reflection in the mirror of the train – as another train passes the opposite way, he sees it’s not his face. And he doesn’t recognize this face.

Jordan Hoffman: Ooh, another one of those from Duncan Jones.

Jake Gyllenhaal: Oh, man. It’s gonna be - it’s really, really awesome.

Jordan Hoffman: Cool.

Jordan Hoffman: And what’s the story with David O. Russell and Nailed?

Jake Gyllenhaal: The financing for the movie, uh, we had one last scene to shoot of the movie. We were pretty much, I would say 98% done and uh, the financing fell through. So that movie is yet to be finished.

Jordan Hoffman: So this is something that’s 98% done and we’re waiting for somebody’s uncle to put up some dough to finish this thing? Is that basically the story?

Jake Gyllenhaal: Yeah, talk to the financer.

Jordan Hoffman: Wow. Well, I hope it comes out.

Jake Gyllenhaal: You never know. You never know.

Jordan Hoffman: Would you ever endorse sort of an unfinished version or something? If your schedule and his schedule can’t get back together once the financing does come back through?

Jake Gyllenhaal: Well my role is done. I shot all my roll in the movie but, uhm, yeah I would without a doubt. I think David is like, an extraordinary filmmaker and I always think there’s a way around it. It’s just, you know all those contracts you gotta get through.

WonderCon: Jake Gyllenhaal is excited about the new Duncan Jones movie? Hey, me too, buddy!

While promoting Prince of Persia at WonderCon over the weekend, Jake Gyllenhaal mentioned that he is currently filming a science fiction movie called Source Code with Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright and that it is going to “blow our minds.” I don’t know that much else about the film, except that it’s directed by Duncan Jones. But frankly, that’s enough for me.

Jones is the son of David Bowie. Far more pertinently, he directed Moon, a Sam Rockwell-starring head trip of a homage to early ’70s sci-fi and, in my opinion, last year’s most tragically underseen movie (you can check out the trailer after the break). The less you know about Moon before you see it, the more fun you’re going to have — suffice to say that Rockwell very much earns his money, and in more ways than one. If Source Code is anywhere near as good then I’ll be a very happy bunny. (And if it’s even as half as good as the Gyllenhaal-starring, giant bunny-featuring head trip Donnie Darko then I’ll be even happier.)

What about you? Any fans of Moon out there? Or Donnie Darko? Do you agree that Source Code could be mind-blowing material?

Let's recap. Jake does press all weekend and Reese takes the boyfriend (with the kids) to church and the kids to the White House to read stories and she manages to steal the headlines. Jake is an afterthought on most of the entertainment shows. It's just like "oh yeah Reese's ex was at Wondercon".

What? Why would we care about Jake's ex beard? Witherspoon is doing what she did her whole career - faking and using everyone she can for her photo ops and publicity fiction.

Get ready for lots of Jake Gyllenhaal, because the Price of Persia promo tour is underway.

Jake showed up at WonderCon in San Francisco over the weekend to promote his slightly hyped flick. Despite some mixed early reviews, we're just glad J is looking sexier than his Prince of Persia action figure.

We actually think Gyllenhaal's looking better here than he has in a long time! Wonder why?

The former half of Gyllenspoon was glowing throughout his weekend up in northern Cali, looking yummier than he has in ages. See what happens when you lay off all those coffee dates?

Sorry Olivia Munn, but it seems singleness suits Jakey just as much as Reese (well, kinda).

Among the topics of convo up at WonderCon:

• What a ball he's having filming Source Code in Montreal despite some douche lords that may also be in the city.
• And also, how "gorgeous" he thought Rachel McAdams looked on Oscar night.

They both looked pretty good if you ask us, but does that equal a new couple? Tabloids all around the world seem to think so, like the Down Under mags that are already naming Rachel and Jake Hollywood's hottest new couple.

Hardly, babes. Jake is still very much single, we're told.

As much as we totally heart Rachel, we say no way on McGyllenhaal. Anyone disagree?

(This will not be the last time we'll find it necessary to ask this query, just be prepared.)

Does Jake Have a New Crush?

The easter egg hunt at the WH was scheduled last June, I remember the tweets while she was filming in DC. They mentioned Jake and Reese at the time, scheduled way before wondecon.

The WH easter egg hunt is more mainstream story than WonderCon, I don't care who attends and the reception, The WH will alaways be the biger story.

Sounds like Bibby is specualtioning about anther contracy and thinks McAdams deserves better than that.

There is a reason why Jake mentioned her at wondercon out of the blue.

Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. Director Todd Graff, meanwhile, might want to check the fine print on his contract with the Devil. (And, really, who ELSE could have been responsible for "Bandslam"?)

Not a month ago Graff revealed to MTV News his grand plans for a big-screen remake of the Faustian "Damn Yankees" staring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jim Carrey, including plans to update the central story of a baseball fan who sells his soul to Beelzebub with a new focus on steroids.

It's not exactly the bottom of the ninth. But maybe it's time for a pinch hitter?

"Man, this is–- this has been a conversation I don't know why I keep having," Gyllenhaal told MTV's Larry Carroll when asked about the project this past weekend at WonderCon in San Francisco. "I've definitely been fascinated by that musical for a very long time, but I guess it's still in development. Still being worked out. We'll see."

Chalk this one up to a star unwilling to talk about his next project? Sure. It's not as if he denied being attached. Still, for fans of the musical looking for evidence that the remake would be moving forward sooner rather than later -- It was announced way back in February of last year, during the "dark times" when the Phillies(!!!) were World Champions. *Shudder* -- well, you might want to settle yourself in for a long seventh inning stretch.

In the meantime, the former "Brokeback"'d one wishes to assure you that if and when it DOES come time to patrol the ivy covered walls of Wrigley Field (updated from the Washington Senators in Graff's take on the story), the once and future "Prince of Persia" is more than up to the song and dance challenge. Mostly.

"Yeah, I mean look man, I have been signing since I was a little kid. It's something I've done alongside acting–- probably singing longer than I was acting so I am confident in that," Gyllenhaal laughed. "My dancing, not so much. [But then] I never thought I'd swordfight either."

"We'll figure it out if need be."

Jamie Foxx: I'm Not Gay (and I Could Eat Pizza in a Male Shower) said...

Late last week Jamie Foxx denied he's gay in response to suggestions made earlier in the week by fellow Sirius radio host Howard Stern. The two radio hosts are in the midst of an on-air war.

Said Stern of Foxx earlier last week: "He seems to be in some bizarre thing where he wants to start in with me so that he can get some attention for his channel on the Foxxhole, which is an interesting name too. The hole. I wonder which hole they're referring to? How many holes are in Jamie? He's got an ass and a mouth. I don't know what he does with them...I gotta sh*tload of stuff on Jamie which isn't a lot of fun...even the name change to Foxx, it's interesting that he chose the name 'Jamie,' I could get into the whole f***ing thing...My guess is we're probably not on the same team. I think he's playing for a way different team. I don't know what team he's on but it ain't my team."

Said Foxx on Friday: "I'm not gay...A lot of people say that I'm gay and that doesn't bother me, because I could eat a pizza in a male shower and not feel anything because I'm secure with myself. And I'm not gonna take that, Coward Stern. I'm not gonna take that from a person who has chronic gonorrhea."

Howard Stern is an idiot, no doubt, but I don't get Jamie Foxx's comments. If it doesn't bother him that a lot of people say he's gay than what is it that he's "not gonna take." None of it makes sense. Eat pizza in a male shower? Is that supposed to be funny - I mean, does he normally get sexually aroused by pizza? Sounds like they're both looking for publicity, which is the real purpose for these supposed "on-air wars."

1. Jamie and RDJ are diva males with strong alpha elements.

2. You're right, Austin, Chris and Peter are not alpha. But (and I know I'm in a microscopic minority on this), I don't think Jake is hung up on any of them.

There must be a reason why the Oscar-nominated actor decided to be in the video game film. Turns out, there are several.

Granted, they're not the most spectacular reasons, but they are reasons. "There are a lot of things," Gyllenhaal tells website Geek Sugar. "One was the character, 'cause for me, whenever I choose a movie it's the character. I thought - at least as it was written - [Prince Dasdan] was wry and funny and had a good time, but at the same time kicked some ass."

Another reason was that the movie is based on a video game. "I like to do things that people have tried their hand at and haven't succeeded," the actor continued, referring to Hollywood's failed attempts at game movies. "Maybe it's a riskier thing to do, but I like that."

What's more, Gyllenhaal knew that the movie would already have a built in audience that wanted to be appeased. "And we're bringing it to younger kids," he adds, "kids who have never played the video game before and never experienced it."

The Prince of Persia film is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who turned a Disney land attraction in a successful film franchise. Perhaps he can do the same with a video game!

Oh, yeah, I remember him saying that now. Yeah, Jake is in the right business - but, ironically enough, not all actors love being the center of attention. Heath didn't, for sure.

Not all, but most I'd say. I'm pretty sure Heath was greatful to Jake for taking over the chunk of talking during promo. They complimented each other as colleagues and friends. Heath in most of his public appearances was awkward to watch. Rarely you saw him comfortable.

Anonymous said...

Because he appreciates male beauty?

There was a "funny" Four Feathers interview I watched with Heath. During the interview he kept his head down almost the whole time. LOL. Jake's big pr wheels keep on rolling...

Isabel Lucas dating Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal
-The Daily Telegraph April 07, 2010

THE latest in an ever-growing line of men to be linked to Aussie charmer Isabel Lucas is swoon-worthy Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal. The Brothers actor, who co-starred with Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain, was spotted "all cuddled up" with the hippie chick recently in Montreal, where he is shooting a movie called Source Code.

Canadian confidantes say Gyllenhaal, who ended a relationship with Reese Witherspoon late last year, was trying to tempt Lucas to dance but with little luck. The former Home and Away starlet has previously dated Australian actor Joel Edgerton and Entourage star Adrian Grenier.

Gyllenhaal will soon hit the screens in the Hollywood blockbuster, Prince of Persia.

A "pinky ring" was fashionable for male homosexuals between the 1950's-1970's to signify their orientation.

Engineers still wear the Iron Ring on their pinkie finger. In Morocco there's no man without a pinky ring, it's a sign of masculinity.

Some American blue bloods wear signet rings to emulate British or European aristocrats. If you read Jilly Cooper's book, 'Class', she argues that the signet ring is an upper middle class phenomenon, and an attempt to mimick the style of the upper class aristo. The royals wear them on the left pinky. Jilly says signet rings should not be worn in UK unless you are a boxer, football manager or nightclub owner.

Here in southern New England the wearing of a signet ring isn't very unusual or regarded as an affectation in socially conservative, well-educated circles.

In the US a pinky ring is an affectation that belongs in the trashbins of history. Forget it. If you want to wear a ring other than a wedding ring, wear it on the right ring finger. Pinky w stone etc - too ethnic shall we say. In Detroit, a pinky signet ring would likely be regarded as a Mafioso affectation or ghetto bling - at best, as trying too hard, at worst, as unmanly.

It's just jewelery, guys!

Sneak Peek at ABC's "It Takes a Village" with Cheyenne Jackson and Christopher Sieber said...

With shows such as Brothers & Sisters, Modern Family and the soon to be dearly missed Ugly Betty already part of its line-up, ABC has been the most gay-friendly network on television for quite some time. And that record of gay-inclusiveness is only set to increase if the network picks up the new comedy pilot It Takes a Village.

Written by Casey Johnson and David Windsor (Greek), ITAV stars Leah Remini (The King of Queens) and Christopher Sieber (It's All Relative) as two exes trying to raise their 15-year-old son while also navigating their post-divorce romantic relationships. And in the case of Sieber's character Howard, that relationship is with his new boyfriend Scott played by Cheyenne Jackson.
...
As for the set-up of ITAV, the pilot takes place on the day that Howard tells his ex-wife Karen and their son George that Howard and boyfriend Scott are moving in together after only dating for a few months. To further complicate matters, Howard purchased a house on the same block where Karen, George and Carl live.

As currently written, the pilot feels somewhat broad and the writing less sharp than that found in Modern Family. For the most part the characters are somewhat stock. Karen comes across as slightly neurotic, a woman not entirely over the fact that her marriage to a gay man – who was as much her best friend as husband – is over.

Meanwhile, Howard is a rather stereotypical gay man who got married and had a child before coming to terms with his sexuality. And now that he’s out, he wonders how his wife couldn’t have known the truth, something that comes out while they fight for possession of their mattress in the middle of their street.
...

After putting on my makeup for what seemed like hours, I was ready to present myself to the hunkiest man in Hollywood. Jake answered all of my stupid questions on his new film The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, including the obvious one - "What's scarier, an Ostrich or Ben Kingsley?"

Maybe a Twitter stream is the answer? Twitter has unveiled a new set of tools for embedding so it's easy. That way those who like can follow to their heart's content and the comments won't have to be full of Twitter litter. Just an idea.
