Heath's Birthday
I remember a conversation with Robert Richardson, the Director of Photography on "Four Feathers": "Just make sure that the audience are able to look into Heath's eyes. They tell a story of ancient wisdom and all of humanity." Not an easy job for a DP when Heath would so easily break into an Australian crinkle and narrow his eyes, so that the point of light so carefully placed by the DP would search desperately for its subject! I used to tell Heath that he was an ancient soul in a youthful body and mind. That his struggle was between the ancient wisdom he carried in his soul and coming to terms with his youth.
That struggle showed and I - the 'brother from another mother' as he called me - embraced him at those moments.
I wish I was there to embrace him when he passed away. I was so close. But then, it was not meant to be.

Smiley, sorry it's taken me awhile. But no, that's not the one. are you friended with Steffi? For right now, that's how you can see those pictures. And I can't show them because she asked that no one use them. But I do believe she said at some point, she's going to show them in a new post that won't be locked. It really is a beautiful sight. And the memorial marker is beautiful as well. It all overlooks the ocean and also somehow looks back onto the city skyline if I recall that part right.
That's not where he's buried, though. It's a memorial site. And it is absolutely beautiful.

I don’t know, I think they were just old friends. I believe Heath was straight but that doesn’t mean he was a total stranger to m/m sex, which I don’t think he was.
Hedda=Poison is Queen. Both LA based, in their 50's, had old HW gossip. Queen also has a LJ, locked and used to post on ONTD. Figured out awhile ago that they were the same person since they seem to repeat the same gossip: Jake/gay casting couch, Kiki and the story how Austin got Wimbelton, etc. They also seem to dissapear at the same time.
The nickel and dimeing of Ryan by Reese among other things are not inside information but well known and posted on places like IMDB.
When rumors were going around about Jake and Peter Saasgaard, the gossip was that Maggie was cluless and he got Peter the role in Jarhead.

Some thought that Hedda/Queen was/is a PR plant, posting gossip that people wanted to hear, gage the reaction and "report" back and dissapear and re-appear. A lot of her gosip was directely lifted from the DL and an old really great now defunct site called the A-list.

Well, according to Ian from Ianundercover, Jake was in love with Heath and has never gotten over it (even with Heath dead). Supposedly Heath broke Jake's heart...
Take that as you will...Jake's attitude toward Heath's death and the way he has handled Heath's passing has been strange considering they were supposedly good friends at one point and Jake was named Matilda's godfather.

As for Heath, he just didn't seem the type to get roles that way also he was very talented, I think directors saw that.

This reminds me of an article I read a while ago in "Rolling Stone" magazine which discussed the impact of Martin Luther King's death on a lot of baby boomers. The author talked of the reaction of one of his friends in particular, who was very idealistic and was involved with a number of progressive movements. He idealized Dr. King. When the friend heard of King's assassination, he literally sat down and said "fuck it." It's like when King was extinguised, whatever light in him was extinguished as well. And with those word he, and many many others just gave up and turned inward. Thus the whole baby boomer materialistic focus began. I though it was a fascinating glimpse into what may have been the genesis of the self-absorption and materialism of the 70s and 80s.
I am not equating Heath with Martin King or Jake with an idealistic follower. I know that Jake started bearding (or was rumored to have started bearding) before Heath died. I brought up the article because I think that sometimes people get hurt and give up or decide that the good, the ideal get taken from you in this world. So, I'll just go for the riches.

I'm also not sure they were as protective as we thought they were. Remember the G family was once pictured as an ideal nest of strength and happiness founded on strong ethics and values and filled with wholesome meals with fresh produce and artistic discussions and yadayadayadayada.

In the end I think the Gyllenhaals are your typical fucked up Hollywood family and the children were groomed very early to abide by the HW rules. His mom is script writer and his dad is director in Hollywood and worked with some high profile people, I'd say he has good connections. I admit his parents aren't as successful anymore though. I'd buy the casting couch rumor to get POP, but I doubt he did it earlier in his career.

A groundswell of outrage, concern and confusion sprang up over the weekend, largely via Twitter, in response to what authors and others believed was a decision by Amazon to remove "adult" titles from its sales rankings. On Sunday evening, however, an Amazon spokesperson said that a "glitch" had occurred in its sales ranking feature that was in the process of being fixed. The spokesperson added that there was no new policy regarding "adult" titles. As of Monday morning, a number of titles affected by the so-called glitch are still without sales rankings.

Actually, the percentage of those going out to movies has risen 15%. When times are tough, the antidote is escapism, which is what happened in the Great Depression when musicals reigned supreme. Everyone loves a good movie, have since they started sometime back in the 1900s. Hooray for Hollywood! :)

It amazing how the Jaustin fairy tale lovers will swear that every photo op with Reeke is all pr arranged and approved. But if they see a picture of Jake and Austin (after almost two years of nothing), then it's obvious that it's just Jake reclaiming his life and asserting his relationship for all of the world (aka: the Jaustin/gay fans) to see.
Didn't Ted just say that Jake wants to have Reese for the long haul and keep having a little of Austin on the side. To me Jake's looking real good in the pics, but I agree, this was a staged photo op. The pics were taken by Flynet, Reeke's personal pap agency and it look's like they are in front of the gate to someone's house. Do the paps stake out all of the residental streets in Santa Monica hoping to catch Jake bike riding? I think not.
I am convinced more than ever that, at the most, Jake and Austin are fuck buddies. And maybe not even that anymore.

Photos are still staged. Who cares if the JIS crowd tries to downplay the pics or Jake is "happy for a change." Doesn't change the fact that the actors/ their pr teams courted the pap attention in the first place. Gay/Straight/Bi/whatever...Jaustin is engaged in some manipulative shiz-nit in those photographs.

You do know, 10:52, there are people out there who don't even know a Jake Gyllenhaal exists. There are Bragelina fans who don't know about Zac Efron, Heros watchers who are clueless about Twilight. The world is a big, wide wonderful place and there are just as many fandoms out there as people.
