Heath's Birthday
I remember a conversation with Robert Richardson, the Director of Photography on "Four Feathers": "Just make sure that the audience are able to look into Heath's eyes. They tell a story of ancient wisdom and all of humanity." Not an easy job for a DP when Heath would so easily break into an Australian crinkle and narrow his eyes, so that the point of light so carefully placed by the DP would search desperately for its subject! I used to tell Heath that he was an ancient soul in a youthful body and mind. That his struggle was between the ancient wisdom he carried in his soul and coming to terms with his youth.
That struggle showed and I - the 'brother from another mother' as he called me - embraced him at those moments.
I wish I was there to embrace him when he passed away. I was so close. But then, it was not meant to be.

If the report from The Daily Mirror is true, this would be one of the most ill conceived remakes of all-time. Allegedly, Tom Cruise and John Travolta are having discussions in between Xenu lectures about co-starring in a remake of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. In the new version of the Paul Newman Robert Redford classic, Tom would play the Redford role while John Travolta would play the Newman role.
Whatever. I actually half hope this story is true and that Tom really is looking for screenwriters because I have a feeling this would be the biggest flop ever. It would be Ishtar big or Heaven's Gate big. Unfortunately, I don't believe the story because I don't think John and Tom could stand to be in the same room with each other for five minutes, let alone go somewhere in the desert and film a movie together for two months.
Although the movie would probably suck, I would like to see the behind the scenes footage of the filming. That would probably be great.

JJ and MW slept together on several occasions during sason two. Throughout the whole of season three Michelle was very commited to her boyfriend Morgan, but after they split Josh and Michelle supposedly hooked up (briefly). It was during the summer before season four. She has heard an "interesting" JJ/Wes/MW story but won't go into it. There are some more details she did share, and I'll spill them when I have more time.

Interesting how X17 paparazzi weren't interested in all those celebrities mentioned by People magazine - there are only pictures of Jon Favreau, Jake and the chin.
I find it strange that Jake didn't even hold back staring at Heath adoringly in front of Michelle. At the Q&A session with the BBM cast and crew, one report said that "Jake's and Michelle's eyes only met at Heath". They were both staring at him adoringly. Michelle must have noticed it. It didn't seem to bother her though.

Jake and Heath were alone on the set (alone with the rest of the vrew, of course!) filming the up on the mountain scenes. Then Jake left to do promotion for TDAT, and Michelle arrived for all her Alma scenes with Heath. By the time Jake returned to Alberta, after sharing a hotel room with Austin, Michelle and Heath were together.
More than enough time for a crush to spark between the two.

Sex and the City II is due to be released the same day as PoP, but the official press release for SATC says that it has no direct competition on the release date. Considering that straight women and gay men are going to flock to both films, I'm a little confused. Which of the following scenarios explains this pr glitch?
1. PoP are in different categories (action versus comedy)
2. PoP is not expected to be a major blockbuster (unlike SATC)
3. The PoP release date is not yet firm.
The opening weekend here in NYC last summer for SATC was total madness (surpassed only by TDK). I had to buy a ticket a few weeks in advance (I couldn't get a ticket on Friday opening) and when I got there, it was jampacked with LOTS of women (and a few men who were dragged there by their significant others but they seemed to be fine with it). Many of the women were dressed, wearing Jimmy Chus and SATC like fashions. Really funny.
I expect a reprise of similar madness for SATC II opening weekend.

I am sure Jake didn't tell Austin he was crushing on Heath. But Austin had to have seen the same photos all of us have. You can also tell someone is crushing just from the way they talk about someone. When you've got it bad, it's not all that easy to keep it undercover. How will it fare at the box office though? This time it’s going up against Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I can’t even write that with a straight face.

The New York photo ops occurred over a month after Heath died. I didn't know that there was some sort of Heath related moratorium on going to New York.

12:07: Jake never said that in any interview. They are talking about an old interview posted on WDW that Jake did while promoting TDAT. The reporter mentioned that Jake was sharing a room with a freind. Since there are pics on IHJ of that Katz-Frost guy in the premiere pics and he is listed as Jake's PA during that movie, most likely they were talking about him since Jake never introduced him as his PA, just a friend. Austin was at the premiere with his fiance and Kiki was there as well.

Same-Sex Marriage Approved in Vermont as Legislature Overrides Veto
The Vermont Senate and House voted today to override a veto by Governor Jim Douglas of the state's same-sex marriage bill. The Senate voted 23-5, overriding the veto by a wide margin, while the House squeaked through with a 2/3 majority with a 100-49 vote.
Vermont is now the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage (with Iowa, Massachusetts, and Connecticut) and the first to do it by a vote of the legislature.
The vote comes nine years after the state legalized civil unions and was the first time Douglas had been overridden in his tenure.

In HW and gossip rags a couple will always get more publicity than a single actor so Reeking makes sense on a business level (for an average actress like the Chin at least), although I agree their image seems solely geared at 12 year-old fangirls. How many times will we read that they are "really in love" and a "picture-perfect couple"?
