Dr. Parnassus, Session Three

Feb 12, 2008

Q: Doctor Parnassus, can we talk Ted?
Doctor Parnassus: Despite my commodious competence with languages, Tedspeak is a derivative dialect of interrrelated involvedness and exaggerated enigmatic implication that is difficult to deconstruct into actual —
Q: I mean, why won’t Ted unmask Toothy Tile?
Doctor Parnassus: Oh lambkin. Would Classic Coke reveal its formula? Would a hairdryer blow without its motor? Would primates fly out of my —
Q: He’s pretty much said it’s Jake Gyllenhaal, but some still don’t believe.
Doctor Parnassus: Belief is over-rated, my pet. Disbelief is what matters.
Q: So we shouldn’t believe that Jake is Toothy?
Doctor Parnassus: No, you should disbelieve that he isn’t.
Q: Ah. So how do you explain the girlfriend?
Doctor Parnassus: In standard Myers-Briggs testing, Ms R exhibited maladaptive control issues coupled with elements of Doris Day Derangement Syndrome (DDDS). This first manifests itself in acute-onset PDA, usually with additional exhibitionism at key junctures in professional life —
Q: What I meant was, why does Toothy have a girlfriend?
Doctor Parnassus: Toothiness is not next to godliness, dear kumquat! And you do know that boring sex is pornoliscious, don't you? Dull is exciting, safety is danger! Yes, conflicted individual mental processes hunger to explore the full range and subtlety of human experience. It’s also called research.
Q: Moving on…I know this is crazy, but Ted seems to hate Heath.
Doctor Parnassus: First, “crazy” is a meaningless terminology that I categorically expunge from my lexical semantics. Second, during neuro-linguistic programming sessions with me, Theodore-Bruce — let's leave his dissociative identity disorder for another discussion, shall we — revealed his true emotions for Mr Ledger and, I assure you, they were quite wet.
Q: Then why give Jake a pass on paying respects to Heath?
Doctor Parnassus: Sweet pickle, ever heard about reverse psychology? I tried it on myself once and it made me kiss a woman.

That's not the point but the fact that the person had to "mention" he was flirting with all the girls, can't leave that part out, can we? Transparent!

You lost me. What's transparent?

"That's not the point but the fact that the person had to "mention" he was flirting with all the girls, can't leave that part out, can we? Transparent!"

Why shouldn't the person mention it? Not everyone is on a mission to prove Jake is straight. He seems to like to flirt!

He seems to like to flirt!

Yes. Remember Rendition promotion interviews?

Exactly.
Flirting isn't always about sexual and/or romantic interest.

"Flirting isn't always about sexual and/or romantic interest."

It isn't! Some people seem not to understand that though!

I'm not saying he doesn't flirt with women, just saying how convenient that he flirted with all the girls when his movie was in such deep trouble and someone was there to report it later. I'm sure flirting was all he could think about. Whatever

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, but you don't make sense to me 8:17! If we can believe the report he was in a flirty mood despite the film being in "trouble". But I firmly believe the film will be finished and Jake paid! ;)

Jake flirting with a male interviewer?

Q: Will you comment on rumors that you are dating Reese?

A: No. Apparently, I am dating a lot of people, not only of the opposite sex (laughter)—it’s very interesting and amusing.

Q: The first time we interviewed you, you talked about not having enough sex...

A: Are you offering or what? (Laughter)

I think you mean firmly plant him on the A-list, unless you were thinking that if Jake moves up, that will kick someone else off.

Isn't that ususally how it works?

DiCaprio has supplanted De Niro as Scorsese's muse. Aren't they both A-list? If so, why can't Jake supplant DiCaprio or any other A-lister as heartthrob box office draw?

Just wondering.

But yeah, plant or supplant can works in my above statement.

David O. Russell Film Shut Down 3rd Time

Either this indie is horribly cursed, or Capitol Films is completedly busted, or both. I'm told that IATSE today ordered its crew off the political comedy Nailed because they weren't paid.

There are no plans to resume filming until next Thursday at the earliest. This is the 2nd time IATSE has moved to protect its union members, but only after the Screen Actors Guild first sounded the alarm bell over Capitol Films' cash crunch and instructed its actors to leave the set earlier this month. Because of this, it's been start and stop, start and stop, again and again. Isn't it that after three strikes, you're out? But, amazingly, both co-stars Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal are hanging in even though these shutdowns are a major pain in the ass for them and Russell and everyone else connected with the movie. I'm told the production is officially one week behind schedule, and this latest debacle will push it back two weeks. What a mess. (That is, unless the Academy Awards or at least the Spirit Awards start a new category for Best Tortured Indie Pic...)

Looks Like Lindsay Lohan is a Lesbian, Kissing Samantha Ronson

Rumour has it that Lindsay Lohan is a lesbian, and has been getting hot and heavy with her "girlfriend," Samantha Ronson. And with public denials coming from her family, you could pretty much take it for granted. But if you really needed confirmation, I think these pictures of Lindsay Lohan kissing Samantha Ronson and holding her hand in Cannes should be more than enough to convince you.

Sure, you can't actually see Lindsay and Samantha locking lips, but they are getting really close, and if it talks like a duck, and walks like a duck, it's probably Lindsay Lohan sticking her tongue down another girls throat. Now, I don't know for certain if Lindsay Lohan is really a lesbian, but she is a whore. An attention whore. And what better way to get attention (besides posing nude, or crashing cars) than to start kissing girls in public. If it's attention she wants, that'll work everytime.

Lots more pictures of Lindsay Lohan looking leggy and lovely and a lot like a lesbian after the jump.

"Romeo + Juliet (budget was only $14,500,000) and Titanic put Leo on the A-list."

No his 3 Oscar nominations, his bo power and Scorsese’s obvious weakness for him (hence the 4 movies he's done with Leo including Shutter Island that's filming as we speak) put him on the A-list. He's only recently become and A-lister (3-4 years ago max), Titanic came out in 97. If you think he's been an A lister for 11 years you're very wrong.

I don't think there's a simple rule for making the A-list.

Everyone knew who's Leonardo DiCaprio after Titanic, Gangs of New York (2002) was a flop.

Oscars and Oscar nominations don't automatically make someone A-list: Kate Winslet has 5 Oscar nominations, Jim Carrey was never nominated.

Anonymous said...

Um I'd hardly call a film that got 10 Oscar nominations a flop, 11:28.

Anonymous said...

Flop refers to the profit, not movie quality.

Gangs of New York (2002)

Production Budget: $100.000.000
Domestic: $77,812,000

"If a film has a higher domestic gross than its production and marketing costs, it will almost certainly turn a profit once the overseas gross is included."

"Flop refers to the profit, not movie quality."

Then why did you single out GoNY? Just because it didn’t do well at the bo? It might've been a flop but it did more than well with the critics and nominations/awards and it was good to Leo's career.

Anonymous said...

Then why did you single out GoNY?

Because it's an example how not even good script, great director and cast (Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis) can't guarantee good box office.

" ... is the guy from Speed Racer. I used to see him in West Hollywood all the time with other guys. I can't remember his name." [Emile Hirsch]

12:41 Of course it can't but GoNY is a good movie nonetheless and it was a success from the critics’ perspective so the bo is irrelevant.

Out, Out and Away as TV Prepares for World's First Gay Superhero

The recent spike in comics franchises and other superhero entertainment could soon take an especially fabulous turn if Perry Moore gets his way. The novelist and Chronicles of Narnia co-producer (pictured) blabbed to Vulture this week about negotiations to adapt his young adult novel Hero — about Thom Creed, "the world's first gay superhero" — for TV; Moore expects a deal with one of two unnamed networks any day now, but he isn't waiting around to affirm its credibility among gays, fanboys, gay fanboys, executives and myriad other demographic permutations:

He described the live-action series as labyrinthine and similar to Lost. "It's not campy either — it's not The Gayest American Hero. He just happens to be gay. It's just one of the many things he wrestles with."

Moore, a longtime Walden Media executive, was one of the passel of producers on the Narnia movies, but sounds dramatically more excited about the producer who's helping shepherd Hero along: Stan Lee. "The ultimate fanboy moment," Moore calls the first phone call from "legend" Lee. "Just to have a straight older man who's the comic-book legend of all time ... just to have him think that the next big movie is my humble little creation about the world's first gay superhero — it was just wonderful. Wonderful!"

We're excited, too, if only for another moody, marquee franchise role in the making for Shia LeBeouf. Well, that and to see what the Happy Meal tie-in looks like.

Cannes 2008 - ‘Synecdoche, New York’

Many of you will recognize Charlie Kaufman’s name from his unique screenwriting credits: Being John Malkovich, Human Nature, Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.

The movie stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener, Michelle Williams and Samantha Morton. Theater director Caden Cotard (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is mounting a new play. Fresh off of a successful production of Death of a Salesman, he has traded in the suburban blue-hairs and regional theater of Schenectady for the cultured audiences and bright footlights of Broadway.

Armed with a MacArthur grant and determined to create a piece of brutal realism and honesty, something into which he can put his whole self, he gathers an ensemble cast into a warehouse in Manhattan’s theater district. He directs them in a celebration of the mundane, instructing each to live out their constructed lives in a small mockup of the city outside. As the city inside the warehouse grows, Caden’s own life veers wildly off the tracks. The shadow of his ex-wife Adele (Catherine Keener), a celebrated painter who left him years ago for Germany’s art scene, sneers at him from every corner.

Somewhere in Berlin, his daughter Olive is growing up under the questionable guidance of Adele’s friend, Maria (Jennifer Jason Leigh). He’s helplessly driving his marriage to actress Claire (Michelle Williams) into the ground. Sammy Barnathan (Tom Noonan), the actor Caden has hired to play himself within the play, is a bit too perfect for the part, and is making it difficult for Caden to revive his relationship with the alluringly candid Hazel (Samantha Morton).

Meanwhile, his therapist, Madeline Gravis (Hope Davis), is better at plugging her best-seller than she is at counseling him. His is second daughter, Ariel, is retarded. And a mysterious condition is systematically shutting down each of his autonomic functions, one by one. As the years rapidly pass, Caden buries himself deeper into his masterpiece.

Populating the cast and crew with doppelgangers, he steadily blurs the line between the world of the play and that of his own deteriorating reality. As he pushes the limits of his relationships, both personally and professionally, a change in creative direction arrives in Millicent Weems, a celebrated theater actress who may offer Caden the break he needs.

By seamlessly blending together subjective point-of-views with traditional narrative structures, writer/director Charlie Kaufman has created a world of superbly unsteady footing. His richly developed cast of characters flutter between moments of warm intimacy and frightful insecurity, creating a script that brings to life all the complex and beautiful nuances of shared life and artistic creation. Synecdoche, New York is as its definition states: a part of the whole or the whole used for the part, the general for the specific, the specific for the general.

Guys from the IGN Entertainment (a unit of Fox Interactive Media) are talking about PoP casting news, Gemma, director Mike Newell and Jake.

What I find particularly interesting is that some of them could be WFT2 posters – pay attention to why Jake needs PoP and part about Jake’s ability to transform into a movie character.

Podcast page link: Keepin' It Reel Podcast, Episode 15

Download PoP part of the podcast: PoP podcast - MP3 file, 5 Mb

With "transform" they meant he never needed to da a British accent. I'm also curious how he'll pull the accent off.
I don't get why BO is so important, Johnny Depp had his first BO hit with 36 with Sleepy Hollow. Most of his films before underperformed or were flops, but critics mostly praised his performances. I hope Jake won't regret taking on the role as the Prince.

I don't think that Jake minds people thinking he's dating Reese. After BBM he probably doesn't want gay rumors circulating about him. So far the rumors are just on the internet.

I think both, Reese and him, think they'll profit from this relationship for various reasons.

Of course he thinks he'll profit from the bearding, his career and image are not good at all, the only way he can keep his name in the public eye is through the fauxmance. I'll bet that's exactly how he got PoP as well, through his beard.

BTW, Brothers and Nailed are Jake's new projects.

Anonymous said...

Ryan Gosling is not pretty enough to be the Prince!

Let's all not forget, Jake maybe isn't among the very best actors in Hollywood, but he is solid. He'll do a good job as the Prince, I'm convinced! I don't think it's that difficult of a role though!

Anonymous said...

7:24 PM LOL let's not talk about Nailed, that film is a wreck and the shooting is not even finished.

right look,

I don't agree.

Isn't it a wonder how he gets PoP exactly when he needs it desperately and like I said right after the sickening non-stop Reeke campaign. Don't tell me, it's a coincidence! How lucky!

Again, why do you think he's bearding?

Anonymous said...

7:07 PM Then why all of the sudden, after a year with no projects except for PR planted rumors he lands a franchise?

Yes, he's bearding for his career.

But I'm sure that Hollywood business is not as simple and straightforward as "bearding=new project" and "aggressive berading=new franchise".

Anonymous said...

He's a wonderful actor," Bruckheimer said of Gyllenhaal. "He's someone I've been watching for a long time and somebody I've always wanted to work with.

I believe this! Jake has mostly been very wise choosing his movies. He probably got some advice from his parents as well what roles to take on. A good movie + solid performances = good reputation! I think he has a good reputation in Hollywood!

Another financial hit for 'Nailed'

Capitol Films hopes to ink a deal with lenders Tuesday after IATSE for a second time shuttered production on David O. Russell's politically charged romantic comedy "Nailed" over financial squabbles. The company's head of business affairs, Ray Reyes, said a high-profile commercial bank and bond company were on board Friday, working "feverishly" to close the deal.

Last week's work stoppage in South Carolina was at least the third time a union has stopped production on the film, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel, over payroll issues. IATSE and SAG previously suspended work on the indie film this month until both unions were assured financing was in place. Production is expected to resume Thursday.

Reyes said the financial problems are a result of a financing deal that fell through. He declined to say who those parties were because Capitol could file claims against the company for the "falling out on deals and leaving us out in a lurch.

"Obviously, five weeks into production was not how we planned to do this," he said. "Things didn't work out as originally planned with what we were doing and we had to fall back on a contingency plan. The whole chapter will come to a close, thank goodness, when we close our loan."

Despite the setbacks, Reyes said the project has only lost a few days and while a shutdown was not expected, he said it comes at a time where the producers were rearranging the production schedule anyway. A source close to the production said it already was planned to start a Thursday-Monday production schedule -- rather than Monday-Friday -- following the Memorial Day holiday because many of the scenes being filmed are in public buildings, including the state capital. The film's stars have not been part of the financial woes. Capitol fully escrowed their salaries.

I think if you want to look up the word "stuck up" and see a photo, you'll see Goody Witherspoon listed. She's the very definition of stuck up. As for Michelle, she's not a fame whore like Goody Witherspoon and Master Jake Gyllenhaal. Michelle doesn't like the paparazzi--particularly when they invade her private life (i.e. taking photos of her and Heath on vacation or taking photos of her with Matilda). I don't think anyone sane (except for Goody Witherpoon and Master Gyllenhaal) could fault her for that. Unlike those two, she doesn't live for her image. She's a real person and I respect her a lot for it--and particularly the way she has conducted herself since Heath's passing. With a lot of grace and dignity.

She's also a very good (and underrated) actress. She would excelled in that role poorly played by Goody Witherspoon in "Rendition."

It's almost never on their own for established Hollywood actors. They have agents / managers who find new projects, negotiate contracts and earn a percentage of the pay specified in actor’s contract. Good motivation to bring big contracts for their clients.

Michelle Williams Reflects on 'Cool' Cannes

In her first public interview since Heath Ledger's death, Michelle Williams said it was "cool" to be at Cannes. The actress, 27, arrived in the south of France Thursday in time to dazzle at the red carpet premiere of her film Wendy and Lucy.

"She was very, very excited – it’s her first trip to Cannes," the film's director, Kelly Reichardt, told PEOPLE, adding that they celebrated Williams's festival debut with some "celebratory cocktails.”

On Friday, the actress began promoting Synecdoche, New York, a Charlie Kaufman film costarring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener.

"It actually does feel kind of special to have two films at the same time," Williams said. "The film [Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island, which she's currently filming in Boston] was sweet enough to let me come here and enjoy it."

The actress (who is in town for just 48 hours, traveling without daughter Matilda, 2) added: "[It's] something you can look back on at the end of your life and think, 'That was a cool thing I did when I was 27.' " Williams walked into the Palais du Festivals laughing and chatting with Keener, their arms linked around each other's waists.

Jarhead - Jake Gyllenhaal interview

Q. You lobbied for the role very hard. Why?

A. I always do that, there wasn’t anything special about this one, I like to pretend that I’m interested, feign interest and sometimes you fool people and sometimes you don’t [laughs]. As soon as I read this book I fell in love with it and when I heard Sam Mendes was directing it I thought there is no way I am ever going to get that part. Then strangely enough and serendipitously I heard a couple of months later that Sam wanted to meet me in a diner in New York city.

We met and he handed me this script and he said ‘I’m not offering you the part but I want to hear what you think of it’. I read it and I told him I loved it and that I wanted to do it and he said ‘Heh, heh, heh, of course you do’. Then began our sado-masochistic relationship but I remember calling him, I had read with him, and I said maybe I shouldn’t read because I’m not very good in auditions. But I read and I was horrible and then I didn’t hear from him so I called him on the phone and said I was perfect for this part and would do anything to play it and he never called me back! It continued like that and then a couple of months later I got the part, but it was a long audition process…

Sam Mendes: The truth was that I wasn’t being a sadistic or power-crazed director, although that was 90% of it. The reality is that when you read a book that’s a first person narrative, you feel like you know the author, you know the person who’s telling you the story, but when you transform that into a screenplay it’s notoriously difficult to retain the personality of the central character because the personality is there in this narrative but he doesn’t speak in dialogue. I realised when Jake read it aloud to me that the part didn’t really exist yet, he didn’t really have a personality; it was a kind of cipher and there was always this great danger in the middle of the film that Swoff was the observer but he didn’t engage that much because the war didn’t force him to engage.

During that time when I wasn’t calling Jake back, Bill Broyles, the screenwriter, and I were trying to work out who the character was – whether it was Jake or someone else because I didn’t know what the requirements of the role were yet. We always had him in our mind and at the end of the day we came back to the first person I thought of and the first person I gave the script to who was Jake.

FYI, there's someone on DL who is claiming that he heard from a pal of his that Jake has gone on a few dates with his pal's relative, an Israeli violinist. The violinist is kind of hot. This was Feb/March of this year...

The poster doesn't sound that nutty...could be true. And supposedly Jake has dated other guys recently.

Naughty boy!

DL forum gossip:

"Jake's been on a couple of dates with Israeli classical musician Daniel Bard. Yaël Kareth, another Israeli who plays with him and who's a relative of mine, told me he's been attending their concerts and has been to see Daniel backstage."
...
"Yes, 23, this was in Feb/March of this year. Jake has some contacts in the classical music world through his mom's side of the family and attends concerts occasionally, though he's more interested in rock music. The Israeli-Canadian guy, from what I've heard, is low-key and unpretentious. Jake has dated other men in the past 6 months but he keeps in touch with Daniel. It would be nice if it worked out."
...
"r25 - Jake seems to have an image on DL of being a 'one man' kind of guy, but he may just be playing the field (to use that tired expression) and just interested in sex, companionship and variety. Otherwise, I don't profess to know any more than you do - I've simply repeated the information my relative Yaël, the Israeli girl who plays with Daniel, has given me."

Anonymous said...

Wasn't there a thread on the DL a few months ago that said that Jake was dating one of the actors from Brothers and Sisters? Boy is he busy, what ever happened to Austin?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I vaguely remember reading about it.

Interesting gossip but let's not forget how easy it is to make up things and post them on forum or blog :)

DL had a lot of interesting rumors about Jake, I wonder if they're true.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure some of them are true. But which one?!? lol

Anonymous said...

The rumors on DL that I remember: Justin model guy rumor, the Brothers and Sisters actor rumor, the trysts with Heath during last summer rumor. Anything else?

Anonymous said...

The trysts with Heath were probably made up by a delluded fanboy/girl! Wishful thinking!

Jake and a guy (Austin) in some West Hollywood club.

^^^ Old DL gossip / sighting.

Anonymous said...

Chris and Jake, fuck buddies parents know and approve according to the DL!!!!

Anonymous said...

Well, I'm sure the parents would approve :)

Anonymous said...

I think Chris is just a very good childhood friend. You can't compare Jake's chemistry with Chris with the chemistry with Austin in pictures.

Anonymous said...

Just letting you know all the crap that's posted on the DL, they claimed the the waitstaff at baboo's in NY knew, of course they only gossiped about it after Chris quit.

That's why Chris is always around the family, again this is the DL, i started BS threads over there too, amazing what crap people are willing to believe posted on a anon blog!!

Fanfic plus add a few "names" to make it sound real, LOL!!!

Gyllenhaal's career is booming and he is considered one of the most promising actors of his generation. His recent credits include "Rendition," "Zodiac" and "Jarheads." He is a respected talent on the international scene both as an Oscar nominee and BAFTA Awardee for his groundbreaking and daunting role as Gay Lover to the now regretted Heath Ledger ( Casanova, Batman:The Dark Knight).

I agree. There is a lot of crap posted on DL, but believe it or not, quite often morsels of surprising truth appear on it as well.

I used to be friends with a well known actress who got fired from a project a few years ago. There was a thread about her on DL. I went on the thread and asked why she got fired (I had been concerned because we had once been close before we drifted apart--which had nothing to do with personality differences and everything to do with geography--her going to LA and I staying on the East Coast). Anyway, all sorts of reasons were stated which I took with a grain of salt. But then one person got on the thread and mentioned a few personal things about my old pal that no one would know unless you knew her very well. I gasped when I read it because it was on the mark and again, something people don't know about her.

It was then that I realize that once in awhile there are accurate posts on DL.

Getting back to Jake--it would not surprise me that he's seeing guys again on the downlow while publicly romancing Reese. Isn't that what the whole Toothy Tile thing was about initially?

Anonymous said...

Wow, the dates with the classical violinist sound tres romantique!

One of my favorite DL gossips :) "A few years ago, a naked Clooney and a naked man ran out of his beach front property in the middle of the night. They obviously thought their lives were in danger. I don't know where the link is but it's very well known...or so I thought."

He says he never heard Jake and Austin had a serious thing going...

The poster is NOT claiming insider Jake/Austin knowledge:

No one I've talked to has ever intimated that Jake was in a serious same sex relationship with Austin or anyone else. Although everyone has heard about Toothy and knows Jake is Toothy no one I know has any details about that. Most people I know assume every actor has an active and interesting sex life and they all have done drugs. If he occationally hooked up with guys it wouldn't exactly be shocking gossip. It would barely raise an eyebrow.

I don't really know people who know him that well though so it would be unlikely that if he hiding a huge secret that these people would know.

Next weeks OK magazine is between Britney & Angelina but...Jake and Reese make an appearance as an insert:

Jake To Reese: I want kids

Picture is from the farmer's market stroll I think.

I would never tell you who I work or worked for. I will just say I'm not a friend or relative or anything like that.

His other posts seem to insinuate that "Gyllenspoon" might not be "Phoneyspoon".
But since he doesn't know people who know him that well, one can't say for sure!

I don't recall him writing anything that indicates he heard it's fake.

TR doesn't know Reeke and doesn't claim to be Reeke insider.
He / she mostly commented Reeke PR campaign and claimed to know things about Reese (before Reeke) and Ryan.

Anonymous said...

I think Jake and Reese are both pretentious people and people who would do everything to get on top in Hollywood. Real or fake they suck together. I'd never thought I'd say that about Jake, but his behaviour lately annoyed me very much. I just wish I knew how to quit him, I guess I'm a bit of a masochist for still sticking around!

Anonymous said...

One more thing - TR has only bad and very bad things to say about Reese.

Anonymous said...

I think Jake and Reese are both pretentious people and people who would do everything to get on top in Hollywood.

Jake looks like that since Reeke started (October).
Reese has no substance - she is her PR team creation.

It begun ever since they hooked up, yes!
Imagine how they'll be when the big BO success kicks in for them again.
I remember reading a story about Jake asking a waiter to tell a woman to stop looking at him, imagine how he'll behave when the big pending stardom kicks in. *shudder*

Reeke PR started in November 2006, Reeke in October 2007. Jake existed before Reeke.

Jake already had his Brokeback Mountain period of stardom. Reese is not worth talking about.

tr:

Everyone has heard the Toothy rumors but no one I know has ever known anything beyond that A & J know each other and are friends and that they are the Toothy BI suspects.

Confused: I don't feel any more anon here then anywhere else. When Reese was first mentioned as being with Jake someone I know mentioned the Waiting for Toothy zeitgeist so I checked out WFT. I was amazed at all the internet mania about Jake because he had never registered on my radar before. I think I found my way here from there.

This overly convenient and mutually beneficial relationship seemed off to me. I knew she was furious and was not going to allow herself to be cast as an Aniston-like victim. She was going to turn the entire dumping to her advantage starting with the starvation diet and new style for the 2007 award season, followed by the assassination of Ryan's character in the tabloids, culminating in "hot new love" with someone more famous and more popular as an actor than Ryan. The last part must have been the hardest to accomplish because men aren't exactly tripping over themselves to date Reese but there was Toothy desperately in need of an influx of heterosexuality and working with Reese. I have no idea if he is gay or straight but he sure needed to stop the frenzy at that moment.

It was just so Team Reese to come up with this type of plan. Nanci and Evelyn are IMO much worse then Reese ever will be. They are pure evil.

So mostly I decided to post to tell you what they were like not to defend Ryan or defame Reese although it clear who I liked better.
