On June 15, 2008, Jake Gyllenhaal was photo’d with others including beard Reese Witherspoon, his mother, and director Jim Sheridan at what was said to be a private movie screening of Brothers.
There was an obvious wet spot on Jake’s shoulder, an odd place for a wet spot. Sort of like where drool might be if you were burping/holding a baby.
Baby Tile 1 was born on October 17, 2007. This screening would have taken place 8 months later.

Again with the medical building visits. For several years, Jake was CONSTANTLY being photo’d at the medical building.
This visit is reported to have taken place on May 17, 2011. BT1 would be 4 years old and BT2(s) - 3 years old. And here is Jake emerging from the medical building with multiple boxes of candy. From a doctor’s office. I don’t think they would be for Jake, do you? ;-)

Maggie Gyllenhaal has been named the official actor for this year’s Jameson First Shot film competition. Now in its fifth year, the competition is the brainchild of Trigger Street Prods. partners Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti.
As part of her duties, the Oscar-nominated actress (Crazy Heart) will star in three shorts directed by a trio of winners, who will be selected based on their scripts.
The shorts will make their world premiere during an L.A. ceremony next summer, with the cast and Hollywood crew in attendance. Brunetti (Fifty Shades of Grey, The Social Network) will produce the shorts.
“If you look at the actors that we’ve had in the past — beginning with Kevin Spacey — we’ve set the bar high,” Brunetti told The Hollywood Reporter. “Someone like Maggie is maintaining that. She’s one of the best actresses that we have right now in the industry of this generation. But she also embodies what this is all about. Her participation is not about the money, the fame, the glam. It’s all about giving people the opportunity to get a shot in the business.”
Added Spacey: “She’s one of the most interesting and multi-layered actresses around [and brave] for jumping into our mad deep end of an idea without a life jacket. It takes a certain kind of leap of faith for a performer of her quality to agree to star in not just one, but three films by yet-to-be named filmmakers.”
The competition was created by Spacey and Brunetti to give first-time filmmakers a break. Spacey, who struggled to break into the film industry, says it is important to “send the elevator back down,” as his mentor Jack Lemmon once told him.
“It’s not about where someone is, it’s about where they might get to in 10 years if they’re encouraged, nurtured and guided,” Spacey said.
The competition, which is now open to some international filmmakers, will accept entries beginning Oct. 15. Entrants living in the following countries are eligible: United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Bulgaria, Kenya, Russia and the United States. A Brownstoner reader tipped us off to no-parking signs around Bay Ridge that say filming will take place November 2 to 4.
The project is listed as “Deuce,” and our tipster suggested it could be the forthcoming HBO drama series The Deuce, with The Wire creator David Simon at the helm.
This seems extremely likely, as the show — which Deadline reported was going into production in October — is based in New York in the ’70s and ’80s. Making Bay Ridge look like long-ago New York shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.
The show is about the legalization of Times Square’s porn industry. James Franco will star as two twin porn kingpins, and Brooklynite Maggie Gyllenhaal will play a Times Square hooker. Michelle MacLaren, of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones fame, will direct.
The filming will take up at least five blocks in the neighborhood. On Wednesday evening, signs were posted on 4th Avenue from 72nd Street to Bay Ridge Avenue and 3rd Avenue from 72nd Street to Ovington Avenue.
