A few of my friends have independently discussed/suggested this theory to me, and I think I’m on board with it. So here is my best guess as to what is going on. Absolutely could be wrong, in every particular. Just a theory.
First of all, I think the baby is real, and I think it’s really Louis’. I think he knows that and his team knows that.
What I think happened was he partied with Briana, accidentally got her pregnant. She told him right away, and at the earliest possible moment they confirmed it via paternity test. Indeed, the baby is his.
Now, ideally they would just bury the pregnancy and deal with it after the baby is born. But they couldn’t for some reason. Probably because too many people knew and it was going to leak sooner rather than later. That’s a big payday and very tempting, and if Louis’ whole entourage knew (not known for their discretion) along with Briana, her family, her friends, etc. then I think 1DHQ saw the writing on the wall.
Rather than risking an unplanned leak, they decided to leak the story themselves. Simon gets involved, closets Briana away in a 5 star resort, makes nice with her family, etc. They arrange for simultaneous releases on People and the Sun for instant transatlantic coverage. The spin on both stories is exactly the same, and as positive as possible in the circumstances - the baby was a surprise but they are great friends, Louis is excited to be a hands on dad, everything is great.
Would it have been better for them to claim to be in a relationship? No, because they are going to bury this story, and if they were supposed to be in a relationship we would have to see her, and if we see her become visibly pregnant then there is no way for the fandom to deny what is going on - which is what they want to happen.
Meanwhile, Briana’s mom is set up as the fall guy. I can think of some reasons for that but I don’t really want to get into it. Let’s just say they have their villain in place if things go sideways. A secondary reason is that if Briana’s family looks fame-hungry it makes the story seem suspect, which is what they want.
So where are we now? The story’s out there, so there isn’t much to be gained for anyone in the know by selling it. Good. They have their positive spin. Good. They haven’t actually confirmed, meaning that to many people the pregnancy is just a rumour, including Larries, who make up a significant portion of their fanbase. Good.
What will they do? My guess is absolutely nothing until after the baby is born. The news is out there, nobody is going to be shocked when it happens. But by neither confirming nor addressing it the scandal will die down quickly, the fandom will move on, the Larries will stick around, and they can finish their tour and sell their next album.
By the time the baby is actually born and there is pressure to address it again, the fifth album will be out, the farewell tour will be done or almost done, and the power of the story to hurt 1D will be over.

Went to see Southpaw last night! Amazing film!
Jake Gyllenhaal was awesome but I've come to expect nothing less from him! He hasn't done a bad film in years! He needs to win an Oscar soon and I'm sure his time will come! It was a very powerful film and although you kind of knew what was coming at times, I still thoroughly enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend if you haven't seen it!

Elsewhere, TIFF announced its first titles today at a press conference presided over by TIFF director and chief executive Piers Handling and artistic director Cameron Bailey.

Hiatus notice
This is just a note that I am taking (have been taking) a hiatus from Tumblr’ing. Feel free to unfollow if you need to or want to. I’m not sure if or when I will be back to posting like I was - not that I was ever a frequent poster with a lot of originality. I was mostly a chronic reblogger, lol. But I got a real kick out of it.
I’m really into MLB baseball right now and trying to spend more time on my fanfiction writing. This along with other social media activity and a very time and energy-demanding job which will only increase as we approach 4th quarter will contribute to some time management pruning.
My heart is also not in Tumblr’ing like it was in the beginning and when that happens, it’s time to just call it a night for awhile and well, see if the enthusiasm doesn’t ever return.
I’ll always be thankful for some very nice people that I have met here and many of the laughs and entertainment. I’m still watching Louis & Harry, Jared & Jensen, and Jake/Austin. That will never stop and I will still be checking in to see what some of my friends are posting. For some of you who know who I am, you can still see me elsewhere. ;-)
Thanks for your interest and don’t feel bad about unfollowing. I hit 100 at one time and that was nice for awhile. :-) (lol - I know - 100 for me is like 1000 for so many others. Ha ha ha) But for me, it was a cool moment.

I'd heard that watching the trailer would ruin part of the movie experience so I was kind of upset at myself for having watched it many times, but it didn't ruin it one bit. His films hit you with physical and emotional impact. There are moments when the film is touching with important relationships in Billy’s life. When he tries to reconnect with his daughter Leila or when he trains with Tick and says, “My wife would have liked you.” If it were just Billy trying to become champ again, the film would not work. It’s these important human connections like his daughter and trainer that make ‘Southpaw’ worth the price of admission. Gyllenhaal is compelling and he could be a contender for an Oscar nomination during award season once again.

Following “Southpaw’s” strong performance at the box office, Jake Gyllenhaal looks to have his eye on another underdog tale, this time following the tragic events of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Sources tell Variety that Gyllenhaal is in early talks to star in Lionsgate’s “Stronger,” which tells the true story of Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, who lost both legs in the attack. Sources say that after execs met with several A-list actors, Gyllenhaal is the favorite to land the role and that an offer is expected to come shortly.
Lionsgate had no comment.
David Gordon Green recently signed on to direct the pic. John Pollono has adapted the script for “Stronger,” which marks his full-length feature debut. Pollono wrote and co-starred in the Off Broadway play “Small Engine Repairs.” “Stronger” has been set up with Mandeville Films principals Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman along with Scott Silver, while Peter McGuigan will exec produce.
“Stronger” is based on the book by Bauman and Bret Witter. It details the aftermath of the 2013 attack at the marathon finish line, where Bauman had been cheering for his girlfriend. A photo of Bauman moments after the blast remains one of the best-known images from the tragedy, which killed three and injured more than 260. When Bauman awoke the next day after surgeries and realized he could not speak, he asked for a pad and paper and wrote: “Saw the guy. Looked right at me.” That set off a massive manhunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was convicted of the murders in April.
The book, published last year, also describes Bauman’s attempts to walk again and face his new circumstances with grace, transforming from an aimless deli counter worker to a man driven with ambition and full of love. “I saw the bomber,” Bauman wrote. “He took my legs, but he didn’t break me. He only made me stronger.”
Two other Boston Marathon bombing movies are currently in development — CBS Films’ “Patriot’s Day,” with Mark Wahlberg attached to star, and Fox’s “Boston Strong.”
Gyllenhaal has recently been drawn more to serious dramas than to flashy commercial pics. His true-story adventure tale “Everest” opens the Venice Film Festival in September and will open in theaters in September. He also has the Fox Searchlight drama “Demolition” premiering at the Toronto Film Festival as the opening-night film.
He is also attached to star opposite Amy Adams in Tom Ford’s next film, “Nocturnal Animals.” He is repped by WME and Bloom Hergott.
