‘Southpaw’ Review: Jake Gyllenhaal Shows A Raging Heart And Delivers Knockout Performance said...

...
Playing a boxer has often brought Oscar recognition of one sort or another to many actors from De Niro and Stallone to Kirk Douglas and Wallace Beery. I might have to agree with Weinstein that Gyllenhaal could join them. It is the most impressive jake-gyllenhaal-southpaw-480x360lead performance from an actor so far this year, and it certainly seemed to impress Academy members who saw it a little over a week ago. The supporting cast also is very fine, particularly McAdams and young Lawrence, and Whitaker looks like he was born into his role.

Regarding 1D, there is definitely a lot going on right now. Fans are joking that they need to get some sleep, others are stocking up on their wine supply, (LOL!) afraid to shut down their computers for one minute because of what they might miss. For months and months now, there have been warped speed changes and curious, sometimes conflicting narratives carefully being rolled out. I have a six month supply of popcorn, just in case the best case scenario happens this year.

Several possibilities are being speculated, the most prominent theory being that 1D's five-year contract is up soon and that a Louis and Harry coming out has been in the works for well over a year. The whole PEOPLE Babygate explosion that erupted out of nowhere from last week has curiously still not be confirmed by either a rep or Louis. Louis’s visibility among a non-fandom audience has certainly skyrocketed though. Simon Cowell has now suggested the group is going to take a hiatus after their next album (set to drop in the Fall), which supports the idea that the guys may be changing management teams. Without a doubt, the whole process is exciting and frustrating to watch. Sometimes three steps forward, two steps back. But, progress is happening every single day. I can feel the electrical charge of change in the air. Most importantly, Harry and Louis seem particularly happy these days, which is a great sign of positive developments on the horizon. Stay tuned.

Jake Gyllenhaal telling Howard Stern he wants to fall in love and get married

Ouch! PG, time for another crazy rant.

Jake Gyllenhaal Reacts to SCOTUS’ Marriage Ruling, 10 Year Anniversary of ‘Brokeback Mountain’ said...

During a promotion tour for his upcoming film Southpaw, actor Jake Gyllenhaal shared how he reacted to the news of the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage and what he thinks about his film Brokeback Mountain, now 10 years old.

Speaking with BET, Gyllenhaal was asked if he felt the ‘perceived risk’ of playing a gay role as a leading man in Hollywood has changed since 2004, Gyllenhaal said,

“Oh definitely it’s changed. I think playing a role and living a life are two very different things. I think telling stories, and all different stories, is what makes acting so great. It’s why I was really proud of Brokeback Mountain and everything it had to say. And it was an interesting journey to go on to learn about that world.”

Gyllenhaal also shared how he felt when he heard that the Supreme Court had legalized marriage equality nationwide:

“When I heard about the news I thought, wow, how far we’ve come in a decade. And how far we have to go in so many things. But I think hopefully something like that in terms of—the resistance of society and seeing that it’s possible to change was such an amazing thing. I remember thinking, my mom sent me the decision. And how it was written, I thought it was so beautiful. And she said it’s all about love. My brother said to me a few weeks ago, all we leave behind is the wake of our lives, that’s all we have. And to know that [love] wins out sometimes is an inspiration to me.”

Watch the interview, which starts with Gyllenhaal at about the 1:17 mark, below (warning: auto-play):

What's in a name? said...

"When I first got to LA, I think some of you know that my name was Chloe Wang. Spelled “wang,” which is great. And I had a lot of trouble getting cast, because they’re like, “Um… this is not you, is it? Are you Chloe? Because an Asian girl was supposed to come.” And I’m like, “Yes, that’s me.” And they just… “But this is for, I thought the Asian girl was tomorrow’s audition.”

And you know, if I wasn’t the best friend, they would see my name and bring me in for the best friend role, and then I didn’t fit that for some reason. But I couldn’t be the lead, because Chloe Wang.

And so we made a big decision with my team and – not in any way to try to disassociate myself with being Chinese, because I am still 50% Chinese and no one can take that away from me, I’ve lived there – and we made the decision to change my name. Because I didn’t want to be known for being Asian, I wanted to be known for being Chloe, who is funny and cool. For myself and not for being Asian.

I’m really, really happy that they took Skye and… Daisy Johnson in the comic books is not Asian. And they made the conscious choice to make her an Asian American superhero. Which is amazing. I’m so proud, obviously that is [Agents of SHIELD showrunner] Maurissa [Tancharoen]’s doing, which is amazing, and Megan. […]

It was really hard, I mean it was really hard, in Hollywood in the beginning. Not looking particularly Chinese, it was definitely difficult. But my dad’s first name is Bennet, by the way, and I know how important in the Chinese culture to keep your father’s name. So I still kept some tradition there. So it’s not just random.

Q: Antoine Fuqua is about to direct you in "The Man Who Gave Up Snow," a biopic of Max Mermelstein, the drug smuggler who became a government witness. Playing a real person requires a certain physicality, too, but you have the advantage of research. Does it feel like a different process after having only a script to figure out Lou Bloom and Billy Hope?

Jake: What I would say is that they all involve intellectual, analytical processing. Initially I had tons of research and tons of reading on boxers, orphan boxers, the spirit of gyms all over America, children who start early, the history of foster care in America. Every single role I play starts initially with the analytical. It’s always, "What can I read?" and "How much information can I take in in words and videos?" So because there’s a lot of improvisation in "Southpaw" and a lot of backstory in scenes that aren’t even in the movie that we shot, we all had to be prepared -- all the actors at all times -- for anything. It’s the same thing with “Nightcrawler,” going with those guys and reading books on sociopathy and having to figure out who this guy was and what he was doing. All of that goes into playing it.

In terms of "The Man Who Gave Up Snow," I’m producing the movie, so we’re developing it right now. The process of developing is based on an autobiography, basically, so it’s based on his accounts of the situation. He was put into witness protection, so it’s very hard to get a read on him through pictures, videos, how he speaks and talks, so you’re trying to create a character based on what you know from secondary sources, which I think is very interesting, particularly because that movie is ultimately a love story. It’s a love story with him and his wife, who happened to be Colombian, and him bringing her family into America and bringing them to Miami in the ‘80s, somewhat indirectly bringing the Medellin Cartel to America and helping them grow. So as we develop it, I’m obviously taking things for the character -- and it’s a very character-based movie, but that’s begun much earlier on than I normally would because of the producing aspects of the movie.

On the attention he and Heath Ledger received for being two straight men playing gay men in Brokeback Mountain

It was fascinating, particularly because I don't think we knew what a success the movie would be, what it would become and it was an intimate and really scary thing for me and Heath, in particular, to dive into. It was uncomfortable for both of us in some of the scenes, and yet we both deeply believed in what the movie was saying. ... At the time it was pretty unreal. ... The emotional response you get from that movie from people who see that movie, I think it was one of the first movies where people would go, "Oh, I can see it as love." Believe me, we got a lot of other responses, too.

On how Ledger's death has affected him

I miss him as a human being and I miss working with him and what an unfortunate thing it is that we won't be able to see the beauty of his expression. ...

I'm trying to be present where I am. I'm trying to have relationships that are as real as they possibly can be on a movie set, be close to people because I know that it's precious. And I know, not only can this career end in a very short period of time and this or that can happen, but also that life is precious. I think losing Heath and being a part of a family that was something like the movie, that movie we all made together, makes you see that, makes you appreciate that and hopefully moves you away from the things that really don't matter to the things that do.

Jake Gyllenhaal: I've Been in Love Three Times said...

Chris

...
So what stopped him from committing when he was in love? "I think it was me," he said. "I think I probably just got scared."

Stern joked that it must be tough for Gyllenhaal to settle down when there are so many temptations around him on the Hollywood party scene.

"I think it's hard for everybody, but I also think at some point, you just decide to grow up," he said. "There are a lot of beautiful women, there are opportunities. But I think at the same time, you find the right person... I believe in monogamy. I believe in when you meet somebody who's right, it'll be right, and you'll stay there."

However, the Brokeback Mountain actor has no illusions that it works out for everyone. When Stern asked about Gyllenhaal's reaction to his parents's 2008 divorce after 30 years of marriage, he gave a surprising answer.

"I don't know, I have to say I hoped they would [divorce] for many years," Gyllenhaal said. "I think everything is a lot better now."

It's the relationship that Gyllenhaal's sister, actress Maggie, has with her husband of six years, actor Peter Sarsgaard, that he aspires to have for himself one day. They also have children — daughters Ramona, 8, and 3-year-old Gloria — which Gyllenhaal has said he wants, too.

"I admire that relationship. They're definitely a standard for me," he noted of his sitter and brother-in-law. "Based on that, and based on their kids and how great they are with their kids, and how cool it is. You know, to me, I think, like, [it's about] making a relationship that's cool ... where you're like, I'm psyched to be a dad. This is cool. My sister and her husband make it feel that way."

Line forms to the left, people.

Behind The Scene - The @vibemagazine cover shoot #video

Jake Gyllenhaal Opens Up About How Heath Ledger’s Death Changed His Career said...

Jake Gyllenhaal recently visited NPR’s “Fresh Air” to discuss his new boxing movie “Southpaw,” but the conversation soon turned to the death of his “Brokeback Mountain” co-star Heath Ledger, prompting the actor to explain how that loss has changed his perspective on Hollywood.

Gyllenhaal and Ledger starred as repressed and long-separated lovers in the 2005 romantic drama. Ledger died in 2008, and after listening to a clip from the film, Gyllenhaal admitted that hearing the scene stirred up some memories of working on the picture.

“It brings me back to thinking about doing that scene with Heath, and the honor it was to work with him, and the beauty of his work. And I miss him as a human being, and I miss working with him. And what an unfortunate thing it is that we won’t be able to see the beauty of his expression,” Gyllenhaal said.

“He was incredibly special, and that doesn’t even come close to encapsulating who he is — who he was,” Gyllenhaal added, revealing that losing such a close friend of a similar age helped shift his priorities.

“I think that’s why I like to go off and I like to try and get into worlds that will wake me up… I’m trying to be present where I am. I’m trying to have relationships that are as real as they possibly can be on a movie set [and] be close to people because I know that it’s precious. And I know that not only can this career end in a very short period of time and this or that can happen, but also that life is precious,” he noted. “And I think losing Heath — and being a part of a family that was something like that movie we all made together — makes you see that, makes you appreciate that and hopefully moves you away from the things that really don’t matter to the things that do.”

Gyllenhaal also recalled the reactions he and Ledger received for being straight actors playing gay roles after they were cast: “It was fascinating, particularly because I don’t think we knew what a success the movie would be, what it would become. It was an intimate and really scary thing for me and Heath, in particular, to dive into. It was uncomfortable for both of us in some of the scenes, and yet we both deeply believed in what the movie was saying.”

“Southpaw” hits theaters on July 24.

10th Anniversary

‘Brokeback Mountain’s’ 10th Anniversary: Ang Lee and James Schamus Look Back said...

This year marks the 10th anniversary of “Brokeback Mountain,” which made history as the first gay romance to cross over into the mainstream, eventually grossing $178 million worldwide. Nearly a decade later, it’s still the most successful same-sex love story that Hollywood has ever produced. The film’s director Ang Lee and producer James Schamus spoke to Variety in separate conversations about their memories of the movie, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger as closeted cowboys.

Schamus: “It started when I was at Good Machine, which was a scrappy low-budget outfit. We read the short story (by Annie Proulx), and of course it’s a quick read — an instant and brutal one. We found out it wasn’t under option. We tried and tried again for six years to get financing, and there was no luck. You’re such a big target for ‘Are you kidding?’ And then came the day that Good Machine got morphed into Focus Features. I remember early on, sitting behind my desk as a studio head and realizing, ‘Oh, I could pitch myself on this.’ ”

Lee: “I cried at the end of reading the short story, and I couldn’t figure out why I was so moved. The language was unfamiliar to me. Actually, nothing was familiar to me. But the idea of a mysterious romance up on Brokeback Mountain — one that once you leave, you are always pursuing and can never get back — always haunted me. There was a moment in the story where Jake says, ‘All we got is Brokeback Mountain.’ That really hit me and touched my heart. I felt compelled to make the movie because of that mystery.”

Schamus: “I remember when I met Heath. He came to my apartment, in Columbia University housing. He arrived at my front door, and we’d been joking around about the tent scene where he spits in his hand. I pretended to spit in my hand before I shook his hand, and said, ‘Come on in, man. We’re doing this.’ I was such a fan already.”

Lee: “Jake met me, and I thought he was great for the part for a romantic love story. Heath came in and wanted to do it right away. I think he told me that he learned from one of his uncles, who is also a very macho, homophobic gay, much like Ennis, and also a rancher. I interviewed about 20 or 30 actresses for each of the female roles. Michelle Williams was the second one to read, and as soon as she walked in, I knew it was her. With Anne Hathaway, I didn’t really know her work. On the Universal lot for auditions, the casting director told me the next actress coming in to read was going to apologize for her clothes and makeup, but to just let her do that and go into the reading. Then Anne came in, wearing heavy makeup and dressed as a princess, because she was shooting a parade scene for ‘The Princess Diaries 2’ on the Universal lot. She used her lunch hour to audition for the part.”

Schamus: “The budget was well below $15 million. After we locked in, the movie was stress-free. It was a very happy set outside Calgary.”

Lee: “I was pretty shy shooting sex scenes, so I designed a very complicated one-shot deal, with 13 points of focus. I made it technical so that no one would think about anything else except hitting their marks. Once we got past the first take, nobody was shy anymore. We tried to make it as real and compelling as possible, and they were very professional. Getting into the first take was hard, and it was the 13th take that I ended up using, which was the last take.”

more said...

Schamus: “We watched it with friends to know it had the impact that we wanted. I didn’t know how far it would carry us commercially. I knew we had a film that worked emotionally.”

Lee: “I also thought it would be an arthouse film with a very small audience. I was nervous about the subject matter hitting the shopping mall, and I was surprised at its success. I think it has something to do with the fact that it’s a poignant love story.”

Schamus: “You could sense the lack of excitement in Hollywood after the 847th trophy was picked up, and I could tell that a lot of folks felt there was a safe political narrative (with ‘Crash’). The day the Oscar ballots closed, I gathered everyone at the company in the Focus conference room, and gave a speech. I said, ‘Look we lost.’ I wanted everybody to be happy for the other guys. I was very proud of the Focus team and Ang that night. There was so much emotion and symbolism involved in that campaign.”

Q: Did you learn anything about the relationship between a daughter and a father in doing this movie?

JG: Well, Antoine was the driving force behind this and the reason he said to me he wanted to make the movie is not just because of his love of boxing but because he wanted to make a movie for young men who may become fathers at a young age or are facing fatherhood. To let them know what an honorable thing, and it’s the most honorable thing that they can do with their life. That was very important for him.

For me, not being a father, but really hoping one day that I will be, I will do anything for a child. Whether they’re mine or anyone else’s, I will do anything for a child. So I think that feeling, though I can’t say I empathize with being a parent, but that feeling was something I went with all the time. When you really ask yourself the question, who is more important, every time I see someone younger than me, I say they are.

Q: Your fans were disappointed you didn’t get nominated for an Oscar for Nightcrawler. How did you feel and do you care about awards?

JG: Well, I care about my fans and I’m sorry they were upset. All that matters to me is making a good film. It is so hard to make a good film. It is so hard when a movie works that it literally feels like a miracle. Everybody setting out to make a film always has the best intentions.

Over the number of years now that I’ve been making movies, whether it’s acknowledged or not is not what makes your life worthwhile. What makes it worthwhile, makes my job worthwhile, are the relationships I have when I make them, what I learn from the people I am trying to portray who do the real job in real life and the reaction from an audience when they see a movie that works. To me, that’s everything. And so are my fans, so I don’t want to disappoint them, but I kind of like it when they’re a little upset. It kind of gives them a little more drive and a little more motivation to be even better fans.

One Direction’s Liam Payne Acknowledges Louis Tomlinson Baby News said...

While One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has yet to personally confirm reports that he's expecting his first baby with his stylist friend Briana Jungwirth, his band mate Liam Payne has subtly addressed the news on Twitter this past weekend.

"I think this is my favorite tweet ever ahahahaha," Payne wrote, reposting a tweet from a fan.

This of course doesn't give fans any details as to how he's exactly dealing with the reports, but the retweet clearly shows that he's aware of the news.

I think Louis is waiting for paternity test results.

tabloids said...

In Touch magazine has learned new details about the woman, Briana Jungwirth, who’s three months pregnant with Louis Tomlinson’s child. According to sources, Briana may have dubious motives for having this baby. She reportedly claims to be a stylist but has unsuccessfully tried beauty school and waitressing.

“Now she barely does anything except lie by the pool and fight with her stepdad — she has screaming fits in their apartment and all the neighbors hear it,” the source tells In Touch magazine. “She’s also had a lot of boyfriends and had sex with one of them in the Jacuzzi at her complex — the whole place heard them. No one wanted to go in the hot tub after that.”

Her parent’s behavior is just as troubling.

“Briana’s mom, Tammi, has always wanted to be famous and feels this is her big break,” the source tells In Touch. A friend of Briana’s adds that “Tammi’s been bragging to anyone who’ll listen about her ‘One Direction baby.’”

Still, “[Louis] vowed to support her and the child,” says a 1D source, adding that his legal team has insisted on a DNA test first. “Briana’s not very maternal and has even previously told people she doesn’t want kids.”

"Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP): A non-invasive prenatal paternity test is the most accurate non-invasive way to establish paternity before the baby is born. The process is state-of-the-art, combining the latest technology and proprietary methods of preserving and analyzing the baby’s DNA found naturally in the mother’s bloodstream. This test requires only a simple blood collection from the mother and alleged father and can be performed any time after the 8th week of pregnancy. The test is 99.9% accurate."

Gyllenhaal gives one of his best, if not the best performances to date. The physical transformation is unquestioned. He looks as beefed and chiseled up as you can imagine a top athlete to be. Gyllenhaal does a great job of showcasing Hope as someone who has risen from a rough upbringing in the streets. There are frequent scenes where Hope’s struggle with pronouncing words is shown. It’s one of his big hinderances in life, his ability to express himself with words. He seems ashamed to attend public outings where he needs to speak. Additionally, there is a scene where his frustration gets the best of him while trying to write a speech. These sort of nuances that he applies to his characters is what has made Gyllenhaal one of the top actors in Hollywood. This is the kind of performance that should give him a spot in the best male actor category come awards season.

‘Southpaw’ Producers on the 5-Year Fight to Make Jake Gyllenhaal’s Boxing Movie said...

...
Alan: Harvey Weinstein had always wanted this from the beginning, so Harvey stepped up and bought out DreamWorks in 2013. So now we’re starting to discuss casting. Peter and I had been looking very hard at Aaron Paul, who was just coming off of “Breaking Bad.”

Peter: He was being chased by a lot of people at the time.

Alan: He’s at his hottest height, and he’s an interesting guy. Travis Fimmel met with us and he wanted to do it. Word came to us that Charlie Hunnam wanted to do it. Actors want to work with Antoine. But Harvey really wanted Jake.

Peter: Well, when we met him, he had just wrapped “Nightcrawler,” so we met a 156-pound gaunt-looking Jake, which was not the vision in the script. Second meeting, he was a different guy. Different physically, psychologically, even spiritually. We thought, “OK, there’s no question he can pull this off.” And Antoine said, “I’m going to gut him.” And he did.

Southpaw, with a budget of $30M, looks to post $16.98M. Weinstein Co. always saw an opening in the mid-teens, and is betting this boxing drama sticks around for the rest of the summer. They’re bound to be correct: Audiences gave Southpaw an A CinemaScore, which is better than what the critics think about it at 59% Rotten. That CinemaScore comes with an average 3.6 multiple. It’s a slightly better start than Jake Gyllenhaal’s solo project Source Code which earned a B, bowed to $14.8M and ultimately made 3.7 times its bow in the end with $54.7M.

Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals He Once Cried Over Losing a Disney-Movie Role said...

During an appearance on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show on Thursday, Gyllenhaal revealed how his parents—who both have careers in Hollywood—cruelly kept him from starring in a beloved 1992 Disney movie. The year before, the actor famously made his feature debut at the age of 11 with a bit part in City Slickers—which he won after meeting Billy Crystal at a party, as every pre-teen eventually does.

Presumably fresh off the heat of this part, Gyllenhaal auditioned for and got one of the leading parts in Mighty Ducks, the first of three Disney movies featuring Emilio Estevez and a fledgling peewee hockey team. Sadly for the up-and-coming actor, however, his parents weren't as enthused about the role, and refused to let him become a Duck.

“I definitely remember crying on the kitchen counter,” the Southpaw star said. “I was like, ‘You guys are crazy.’”

The actor’s parents weren't concerned about the quality of the script, Gyllenhall revealed, as much as what the project would mean he would be missing—months of school.

“My parents were like, ‘Look, you’re about to enter junior high school, you gotta get your education, that’s the most important thing. I promise you, you hate us now, but you’ll thank us later.’ And I do.”

After resuming his acting career, and performing opposite child actors like he once was, he realized that maybe his parents made the right decision.

“I think all of that movie stuff meant more for adults,” Gyllenhaal explained, “and I think [child stardom] can mess you up.”

DESPERATE TO HAVE A ‘COOL KID’ ON THEIR SIDE, CONSERVATIVES PRETEND JAKE GYLLENHAAL IS AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE – HE’S NOT

While conservatives have people like Ted Nugent, Clint Eastwood and Larry the Cable Guy, most thinking people in Hollywood tend to lean liberal. Sometimes, conservatives will grasp at straws trying to find someone who shares in their brand of hate. They tried that with Chris Pratt, and now they’re trying it with Jake Gyllenhaal.

The conservative blog The Political Insider had this as a headline on Friday:
Actor Jake Gyllenhaal Dismisses Hollywood Values, Takes BOLD Stand for Traditional Marriage!

As a reminder, Gyllenhaal starred in perhaps the first mainstream film that was specifically about a same-sex couple. Okay, Brokeback Mountain wasn’t exactly about a functional same-sex couple, but it was groundbreaking. It was a little surprising to see the implication that maybe Gyllenhall was against marriage equality.

This is what The Political Insider said about Gyllenhaal’s comments:

"Famous actor Jake Gyllenhall, star of the newly released movie Southpaw, just took a bold stance for conservative values! In a radio interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM, he said something which left the audience speechless."

Here’s the quote that is supposed to be so shocking:

"There are a lot of beautiful women and there are opportunities but I believe in monogamy.
I believe in, when you meet somebody who’s right, it’ll be right and you’ll stay there."

That’s wonderful, but I can think of millions of other people who also believe in monogamy and many of them are gay and were fighting for their rights to enter a monogamous marriage.

Now, Gyllenhaal has had something to say about marriage equality and something makes me think the conservative blogs would be a bit less smug about it. He recently said about the Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage:

"When I heard about the news I thought, ‘Wow, how far we’ve come in a decade. And how far we have to go in so many things.’ But I think, hopefully, something like that in terms of the resistance of society and seeing that it’s possible to change was such an amazing thing. I remember thinking, my mom sent me the decision. And how it was written, I thought it was so beautiful. And she said it’s all about love. My brother said to me a few weeks ago, all we leave behind is the wake of our love — that’s all we have. And to know that wins out sometimes is an inspiration to me."

Love. Maybe conservatives should value that in all marriage, unless they’re trying to imply that liberals don’t appreciate love and monogamy. Oh, and Gyllenhaal is a Democrat who supported Obama.

Box office estimates: #AntMan $24.7M #Pixels $24M #Minions $22.1M #Trainwreck $17.3M & #Southpaw $16.5M.

Southpaw, from the Weinstein Company, debuted this weekend with a pretty strong $16.5 million. The Antoine Fuqua-directed film, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a down-on-his-luck former prize fighter and co-stars Forest Whitaker, 50 Cent, Naomie Harris HRS -1.23%, and Rachel McAdams, cost $30 million to produce. The $16.5m debut makes it Gyllenhaal’s fifth-biggest debut behind The Day After Tomorrow ($68m), Prince of Persia ($30m), Jarhead ($27m), and Prisoners ($20m). So yeah, it’s his biggest “all by myself” debut thus far. It’s a melodramatic crowd pleaser that should play as counter-programming during what will be a blockbuster-heavy few weeks. A $50-$55m domestic total wouldn’t be a surprise.

Coffee? Casually dressed in a baggy white t-shirt and gym shorts, Jake let out a huge open-mouthed yawn as he hit the streets in Soho (Jul 24th)

Weinstein Co. is over the moon with the results of Antoine Fuqua’s boxing film Southpaw, which came in right about where they were expecting with $16.5M at 2,772. Those are amazing results considering that Southpaw cost a net $25M after Pennsylvania tax credits (original cost was $30M).

Southpaw drew an even 50/50 male-to-female crowd. Early test screenings indicated that females would take to the pic. 60% of the crowd was under 35. TWC remains very hopeful about the film’s prospects in the wake of its A CinemaScore. The film in a second set of exit polls earned an 89 with a 77% definite recommend, syncing with early test poll results. “That’s as good as any Weinstein Co. awards contending film,” beamed TWC distribution chief Erik Lomis, “Antoine Fuqua shot a great film and Jake Gyllenhaal is magnificent in it.”

LOL! Obsessed idiot who posts daily pics of Beard and Closet Case has the nerve to call someone else "fangirl"? Now I've heard everything. Thanks for the laugh, retard!

6:48 a.m. - the laugh is on YOU!

Austin is Gray Goose and that's the reason for posting Austin & Chloe photos.
This isn't OMG blog where facts are ignored or spinned to fit the wishful thinking.
You know that, but can't face the reality.

Blame Austin - he's always with his Darlin Chloe! :)

Jake is a movie star, but he can beard by doing occasional paparazzi photo shoots.
Austin is low profile celebrity, no tabloid cover or anything, but he must beard like crazy, must travel and spend holidays with Chloe instead with husband and 5 kids.

Why?

TWO YEARS later I'm still waiting for the explanation.
