Hey guys so glad the show is back from the holiday break! I have a quick question about my favorite actor right now, Jake Gyllenhaal. I thought he as been A-list for years and great with roles like Prisoners and End of Watch, but do you think that with his career best performance in Nightcrawler, which i thought was also the best of the year, could launch him into the upper A list and mentioned in the same breath as guys like Leo, Hanks, and Bale?

who cares if he is A-list in my opinion he's the best actor working today even better than Daniel day lewis and ill tell you why, Daniel takes what? 3-4 years to prep for a role or even find one and spend a lot of time to get into the character Jake was able to do end of watch where he was in great physical condition and fully embody the mannerisms of a cop then in prisoners he gave such an amazing performance and just had this presence, then in enemy he played 2 personas of the human psyche so well its like there were 2 difference actors playing different characters, now we reach night crawler where he transformed from a buff cop to this small creepy dude and he actually seemed like a psycho in the movie, and from that he was able to regain all that weight and grow twice as buff in that new southpaw photo all this in the span of 4 years where Daniel would have done 1 movie in this time jake was able to transform into 4 different characters and play each to perfection I see no other actor that is able to transform and embody the characters like jake the only 2 close to that are Daniel ofcourse and Christian bale but he is no way near as good as Jake

The Nightcrawler actor revealed he sobbed on a jet while reading the script of his latest boxing blockbuster Southpaw, but confessed it wasn't a rare occurrence for him as he often gets weepy while flying.
He said: "I sat there reading the script and it made me cry when I read it. There were two or three times in the script when I was reading it, where I was just crying.
"And even when I read other drafts as they did rewrites on the script, I remember I was in a plane and I was reading it in a plane, and I just started to cry and cry, and everybody looked at me.
"I have a tendency to cry on planes in general no matter what's happening, I don't know what it is. I think it's the altitude."
The 34-year-old hunk admitted there was nothing he could do to conceal his emotional state from his fellow passengers, but attempted to hide his tears with a towel.

Jake Gyllenhaal is sensational as enigmatic, possibly psychotic Lou Bloom, whose name could be a reference to Joyce’s “Ulysses” wandering protagonist Leopold Bloom. When Jake’s Bloom discovers there is big money in capturing live victim footage, he becomes the master of gory media, at any price. You get the impression his “You talkin’ to me?” in the mirror moment has already happened countless times. Gyellenhaal’s creation of Bloom’s both disturbing and engaging character is a work of art that would make DeNiro proud. Even his cocky Tom Cruise-precise way of speaking is Hannibal Lector intimidation-worthy. As with all great villains, you cannot take your eyes off him, even when he creeps the living daylights out of you.
For his career performance, Oscar robbed Jake of a nomination, as well as co-star Rene Russo, playing the Faye Dunaway “Network” character at the TV station. Conjuring up the sexuality she birthed in “The Thomas Crown Affair,” Russo is a revelation. At least her husband , Dan Gi r l r oy , received an Academy nom for his brilliant screenplay, but it is tragic he was not honored for his Orson Welles-like directional debut. Citizen Kane, eat your heart out.

The idea comes from Ramani Durvasula, a Southern California therapist who has devised a new communications exercise for couples in therapy that utilizes notoriously enraging and meme-spawning Ikea furniture, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“The store literally becomes a map of a relationship nightmare,” Durvasula told the Journal. “Walking through the kitchens brings up touchy subjects, like who does most of the cooking. Then you get to the children’s section, which opens up another set of issues. And that’s before you’ve even tried assembling anything.”
Her technique skips past the store visit and focuses on the at-home assembly process, where things can really get heated. To help couples practice better communication, Durvasula asks them to assemble “a large piece of furniture.” Afterward, they are instructed to return to her Santa Monica office with progress reports, the Journal reported.
Durvasula — who is also a professor of psychology at California State University at Los Angeles — may be onto something, the Journal notes:
Furniture assembly often causes more friction than the shopping experience, according to March data from consumer research firm CivicScience. It surveyed nearly 7,000 adults and found that among those who assemble furniture together, 17% said they always get into arguments, compared with only 6% who said they often argue while shopping together.
What kind of furniture does the therapy utilize?
Durvasula told the Journal that constructing a small item — the Nornäs coffee table, for instance — presents few challenges for most couples.
More problematic are large-scale, wall-consuming units such as the Liatorp: She refers to it as the “Divorcemaker.”
