"It was a hot night, and I really did turn the heater all the way up in the car, but I couldn't get the car very hot. Austin was clearly in London when Jake was there. Don't know if he's going on to Berlin, he may be headed home. Admit it, you can't explain this one away, no matter how hard you all try.

If Delany ran into him at Heathrow from LAX I would think that he was in her flight, I doubt that she saw him while he was trying to connect to Berlin, that would be a different terminal.
There are direct flights from LAX to Berlin, no need for him to transfer so most likely they were arriving in the UK the same time.
Conclusion: He was there on business like a ton of other actirs.
Why does Jake have to invite him? He has his own $$$ and is quite capable of traveling anywhere he wants, he doesn't need Jake nor anyone else for a reason to travel.
Because Austin can travel to Berlin, but can't be "inside" the Festival (screenings, parties) without someone like Jake.
And that's why he wasn't on his way to Berlin, they are both closet cases remember? He would be spotted there and the whole reason for Jake to go there and be on the jury would go out the window with gossip.
Use your head.There are other parties and screenings that Austin can go to now that he is a member of the DGA. There is no great need to attend the Berlin festival, it ain't Cannes.
Besides, shouldn't he be bonding with the kids and looking for his next acting job in L.A.instead of stalking Jake around the globe?
