Yes, in this regard she is smart, but she still strikes me as not very intelligent. You know what i mean?

Yeah, I know what you mean. But she spends so much time being phony, it's hard for me to tell, lol.

Aww Atti! :)

I wonder if Jake and Anne are friends outside of the movie set?

Jake is obviously friends with RDJ and Jamie Fox outsite of movie set as well.

omg, an absolutely hilarious chain of posts on lashers. LG unwittingly brought up the chain Jake wears under his shirts wondering what's on it, which led to a question about his pinky ring, and now there's gushing over his new love, Isabel. Apparently most of them approve of her as an "improvement" over the Chin, whom they idolized for years. I'm waiting for someone to bring up the fact that Jake said "Who?" when asked about his new girlfriend, lololol. It's fun to check in on them once in a while when I need a good laugh and a reminder of how oblivious people can be.

Anonymous said...

Gee Ted, being bisexual has really hurt their careers, especially Angie's.

Anonymous said...

Thanks 1:50 for the report. Reminds me I haven't checked out GB in over a week.

What, UV and FL forgot to post that bit of information?

Anonymous said...

It's McAdams that Jake wants not Isabel.

Ted talks about Jake and McAdams on his truth and dare video and he says they are not dating, yet. He adds that he would be an improvement over Reese cause he has heard that he got burnt by Reese and that he will never date a costar again. He then says that old habits don't die and for some reason brings up Nailed and Biel (implying that there is a co-star he could hook up with if he wants to go there again) but this makes no sense since that movie was finished in '08 and doesn't look like it will be realised (he mentions that) and then shows a pic of Justin and Jessica and says that Justin doesn't have anything to worry about.

I guess he couldn't make that comment regarding SC because M. Monaghan is married but he might as well mention all the leading ladies he worked with over the past 2 years like Gemma, Anne or Natalie, but he named Biel. And the other actresses had BF's during filming like Jessica.

Also he sounded like some PR shill for People on the video.

Anonymous said...

Based on what? Lainey's "gossip"?

Anonymous said...

2:06PM The info was posted on GB when it popped on google, i saw it.

They like Rachel on GB, Isabel is too tacky and C-list. Someone keeps posting Isabel crap on there but it's done by an anon. and everyone else ignores it, LOL!

FL hasn't posted on DC in ages.

Anonymous said...

No, McAdams got the thumbs up from most everyone that saw them together on Osar night. Isabel is low-rent and cheesey, no wonder Jake played "dumb"!

Anonymous said...

Could someone post a video of Ted please?

Anonymous said...

2:14 What do you think about Ted's new video? Ted's tone regarding Jake seems to have changed and I wouldn't be surprised if he pimped Jake and Rachel even though he said that they shouldn't hook up. he keeps bringing it up while everyone is yacking about Isabel.

Oh, I'm sure as soon as UV sees it, she'll step in, lol. I'd find it hard to believe she missed that little tidbit from Jake. I still find that "Who?" hilarious .... and now someone else stepped in to ship Jake and Natalie as a perfect love match...

Anonymous said...

^^Thanks.

Jake didn't played dumb - unlike Lainey, Jake had no reason to lie.

Anonymous said...

2:21 #1 - thanks.

Unless it was totally not noteworthy. I think they partied together that night and c'est tout!

Anonymous said...

Just found this from early this week, posted by UV in reaction to Jake's saying "who":

That Isabel Lucas story was funny, Extra. Without seeing it/ it's hard to determine if Jake was yanking their chain or was actually puzzled.

One other poster also suggested Jake may have just said who to throw them off from asking him about his private life.

LMAO!

Anonymous said...

By the way, now you know the comments about about Jake really being with her are from babblers.

Anonymous said...

I think they partied together that night and c'est tout!

Nice to know that you belive Reeke supporter Lainey over Jake.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Lainey made that up. They both probably were there and partied together. And no, I don't believe everything Jake says. He sure knows what to say and play with the media. For sure.

Anonymous said...

2:31 PM, Why would Jake deny something like that? Because Jake doesn't want media to think that he likes hanging out with girls?

Anonymous said...

UV is hilarious!! That snooty psycho is always good for a laugh, lol...

Anonymous said...

2:31 PM, Why would Jake deny something like that? Because Jake doesn't want media to think that he likes hanging out with girls?

I bet he wouldn't mind rumors about him and cutie Rachel McAdams.
It's better for image.

Anonymous said...

I dno't think Lainey made it up, but I do think Jake's pr made it up.

That's possible too.

Anonymous said...

but I do think Jake's pr made it up.

Without him knowing? Maybe it was Isabel's PR - the story's getting a lot of press in Australia, I think ...

Anonymous said...

2:25:I thought you said that it wasn't posted or commented on GB and just like that you found it!! You didn't just find that, you saw it here when it was posted the first time. Well UV was right he did seem puzzled. Also it's clear from when I lurk there, they prefer McAdams so I find it amusing that an anon. keeps posting about Isabel and they ignore it, the anon. doesn't sound like a regular, i suspect it's someone who is puzzled to why there is no interest in icky Izzy!

At least admit that you lurk there, I do and at WDW as well.

Lainey is pushing Jake and Izzy, or was anyway w/o Jake's PR permission, they got their sights on someone more classy like Rachel

Anonymous said...

Without him knowing? Maybe it was Isabel's PR - the story's getting a lot of press in Australia, I think ...

He probably knew IMO.

Anonymous said...

Why and how woud Jake know that someone will use him to get PR?

Anonymous said...

Why and how woud Jake know that someone will use him to get PR?

His own PR uses him?

I personally still think they both partied there and it was no biggie, but I also agreed with a poster that it is possible Jake's and that girl's pr plannted that. For him to be seen with a gal again and for her to be seen with an A list actor.

Anonymous said...

^^Him denying it is irrelevant, the rumor is still out there.

Anonymous said...

Well UV was right he did seem puzzled.

UV wasn't right, she would say anything that could make Jake look "straight":

posted by UV in reaction to Jake's saying "who": That Isabel Lucas story was funny, Extra. Without seeing it/ it's hard to determine if Jake was yanking their chain or was actually puzzled.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see him with Ms. McAdams in the near future.

Anonymous said...

His own PR uses him?
They work for Jake, not vice versa.

For him to be seen with a gal again and for her to be seen with an A list actor.
Jake wanted to be seen with her but 2 days later said he doesn't know her at all?

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see him with Ms. McAdams in the near future.

Why?

Anonymous said...

2:52 PM - you obviously believe Lainey made that up and Jake was telling the truth. That's fine.

I think he partied there with her and it was no biggie. Not worthy mentioning.

We have to agree to disagree.

Anonymous said...

I think he partied there with her and it was no biggie. Not worthy mentioning.

Not worthy mentioning, so Jake decided to lie? Sorry, that doesn't make any sense.

Anonymous said...

Why?

I wouldn't be surprised if they exchanged phone numbers at the Oscars. And maybe she'd agree to beard for Jake? She gets more attention again (after the Gosling split) and Jake is seen as straight and that's what he wants, right?

Anonymous said...

Not worthy mentioning, so Jake decided to lie? Sorry, that doesn't make any sense.

He didn't want to make a big deal out of it. JMO.

Anonymous said...

All of a sudden everyone seems convinced Jake could never lie. But wasn't the bearding lying? And some even think he (and Heath) lied about the godfather thing. But now he tells the truth? I guess you believe what you want to believe.

Anonymous said...

Jake doesn't want to be seen with icky Izzy. Most likely he was partying with Izzy that night, that's all. Lainey and her "source' made a big deal about it.

He denied acted puzzled because he didn't expect to be asked about such a non-event especially at Wondercon .Now if he was asked about Rachel at wondercon....

Anonymous said...

All of a sudden everyone seems convinced Jake could never lie.

Jake had no reason to lie. He was bearding because he wanted to be "straight" and now he doesn't want to be connected to a girl?!

Who would make a big deal out of "we were just at the same restaurant, we aren't dating"?

Anonymous said...

He denied acted puzzled because he didn't expect to be asked about such a non-event especially at Wondercon .

Bullshit.

Anonymous said...

"we were just at the same restaurant, we aren't dating"?

Why should he justify himself to them? Saying "IDK what you are talking about" is enough to shut them down.

Remember when Jake and Heath claimed they didn't remember the love scenes? Yeah right. But it's a convenient answer to a difficult question.

Anonymous said...

2:39, what are you babbling about? Your first sentence doesn't even make sense. You do know that more than one person is posting here, don't you? Why would someone lie about not seeing some stupid comment on GB? And I didn't see anyone denying that they lurk anywhere.

I'm 1:50 who originally posted about the Isabel gossip at DC forum on lashers thread, where I lurk occasionally. I lurk at GB once in a while but very rarely because the phoniness and hypocrisy usually makes me nauseous, lol. And 2:47 is correct - UV would say anything to make Jake look straight (and saintly).

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't be surprised if they exchanged phone numbers at the Oscars.

Why would Jake want her number?

2:25 said...

I'm not the one who said I didn't think they'd been talking about Isabel, why in the heck would I saw that and post something a minute later. Oh, that's right, because you babblers are used to talking to yourselves.

I'm the one who also posted at 1:15 and said I hadn't been at GB in over a week and would check it out. I don't lurk over there, but I do glance over there every now and again to see what stupid and amusing things you babblers are saying now.

And UV was one of the ones who expressed the belief Jake might really have seen Isabel, not some anon.

Anonymous said...

Why would Jake want her number?

In case he could make a bearding arrangement?

Anonymous said...

Why should he justify himself to them? Saying "IDK what you are talking about" is enough to shut them down.

Please stop spinning Jake's words:

“Who?” Gyllenhaal asked the journalist who’d asked him about Lucas. The reporter then asked if he was in fact dating Isabel. “It’s news to me, my friend,” Gyllenhaal said. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

2:25 said...

1:51, not 1:15.

And lol 1:50, we've got the babbler who can't believe there is more than one of us posting about them all in a tizzy.

Anonymous said...

Please stop spinning Jake's words:

I didn't. He said that he didn't know what the journalist was talking about. Now didn't he?

Anonymous said...

Why would Jake want her number?
In case he could make a bearding arrangement?

Gay and closeted actor doesn't go around looking for a beard by revealing that he's gay. His people, including attorneys, would arrange everything for him.

Anonymous said...

Can someone answer honestly why it's a big deal whether he spent the evening with that girl or not? Who cares? We probaly won't ever see or hear about them again.

Anonymous said...

Gay and closeted actor doesn't go around looking for a beard by revealing that he's gay. His people, including attorneys, would arrange everything for him.

But don't some people claim it's an open secret in Hollywood that Jake is gay?

Anonymous said...

Can someone answer honestly why it's a big deal whether he spent the evening with that girl or not?

It isn't.
Jake said that's never happened, that he doesn't know the person in question.
Some people are desparate to prove that Jake was lying - everything is good enough if they can connect Jake to any girl.

Anonymous said...

Obviously you care or you wouldn't be trying to convince us he was with her, ergo straight or bisexual in your eyes. And the sighting wasn't dancing, it was Jake wrapped all over her some other nonsense.

And funny how you babblers think Jake wouldn't fake a relationship with Reese, but now think he'd lie about not knowing who Isabel was and not dating her.

Anonymous said...

Becasue Jake was taken off guard, it didn't have a prepared comment. And you have to remember, Izzy wasn't a PR plant IMO. He was partying with her and others that night he just didn't expect for it to get out. Lainey ws the only one to mention it, there were no tweets, etc just Lainey's "source".

He and his PR just thought it would dissapear by the time WonderCon came around.

Izzy is the wrong type of girl for Jake to hanging with, but Rachel is perfect. Him confirming that he was just partying with Izzy that night and not dating her would muddy the waters and confuse things.

If he said "yeah, we were at the same place and hung out a bit but that was it", it would get murky. Look at the milage it's getting with his "denial", could you imagine if he didn't say that?

Anonymous said...

But don't some people claim it's an open secret in Hollywood that Jake is gay?

True, but no closseted gay in the right mind would admit that to some random potencial beard.

Anonymous said...

Becasue Jake was taken off guard, it didn't have a prepared comment.

Off guard about being seen with a girl?!? Who prepares comments for silly questions like that?

Anonymous said...

Poor babblers, they fight for every single female and every made up JiS rumor, lol.

Anonymous said...

And funny how you babblers think Jake wouldn't fake a relationship with Reese, but now think he'd lie about not knowing who Isabel was and not dating her.

That's exactly what I was thinking, 3:24! Babblers have their own logic, lol...

Anonymous said...

Obviously you care or you wouldn't be trying to convince us he was with her, ergo straight or bisexual in your eyes. And the sighting wasn't dancing, it was Jake wrapped all over her some other nonsense.

BS. I think Lainey exaggerated as always. I do, however, think he hung out with her. I guess gay men never hang out with women or party with them.

Anonymous said...

Why is Ted saying that Jake got burnt by Reese and he will never date a co-star again. He has pretty much said all along that it was a shomance and consisted nothing more than coffee photo ops but if you didn't know that before hand, you wopuld swear Ted was pushing the People/Us Bs about them dating because they were co-stars on Rendition when they both in fact said that they knew each other before hand.

They shared no screen time. Ted also hinted at a Jake/Rachel hook up down the line when he said old habits die hard.

The Biel mention makes no sense, it would have made more sense if he mentioned Gemma or even Anne.

Anonymous said...

I don't understant why Ted has to push JIS? Can't he just stfu about Jake? Or just talk about his PoP promo?

Anonymous said...

I love Rachel McAdams but she is WAY too cool (non-cheerleader-like), arty and independent for Jake. (But WHAT an upgrade if he could get her!) Plus, she does have a bf.

I can't imagine Rachel would be into the media circus Jake has been attracting since Reese. She's not into that at all (otherwise, she'd be a bigger star). She's my favorite of the younger female stars (I like Anne but I find her annoying and I do think she knew damned well what her crook ex-bf was about but she chose to avert her eyes because he was supporting their luxurious lifestyle to which she became accustomed).

Anonymous said...

Maybe the Biel reference is to her being a professional beard.

And talk about small world, Isabel went on that mountain expedition with Jessica. We all know there are stories about Jessica being a lesbian, and Isabel pings a little bit to me.

Anonymous said...

I love Rachel McAdams but she is WAY too cool (non-cheerleader-like), arty and independent for Jake. (But WHAT an upgrade if he could get her!) Plus, she does have a bf.

So? A beard would be a beard.

Anonymous said...

Ted lost his credibility as far as I'm concerned a LONG time ago. That said, I still think Jake is as gay as a three dollar bill.

Anonymous said...

4:20, Ted lost credibility for me when he began the idiotic BT story. I think Jake is gay too but you have to be brain dead to believe Ted's BT fiction.

Anonymous said...

I believe Jake is gay too, but not because of Ted. He lost a lot of credibility with BT tale.

Anonymous said...

Ted lost his credibility as far as I'm concerned a LONG time ago. That said, I still think Jake is as gay as a three dollar bill.

Yeah, you may have something there. I think the original Toothy stuff that Jake and Austin were together is absolutely true, and they were young and hot and idealistic and in love and lust and seriously considered coming out. But once Jake was convinced by his handlers that would be career suicide, that was that. Who knows what happened after that? There's no way you can convince me Jake is straight, but I'm not sure anyone even feeds Ted info on Jake anymore like they used to. But I do think Ted genuinely likes Jake.

Anonymous said...

But I do think Ted genuinely likes Jake.

He does.

Anonymous said...

I think Jake is gay too but you have to be brain dead to believe Ted's BT fiction.

The BT story and the TT & GG fairytale. What pisses me off is that because of his stupid fanfic now many people mock the notion that Jake is gay. Fuck you, Ted! I don’t need TT bs to believe Jake is gay, Jake himself gave/gives me plenty of reasons.

Anonymous said...

I don't understant why Ted has to push JIS? Can't he just stfu about Jake? Or just talk about his PoP promo?

Ted can't talk about gay Jake, can't out him. Ted is a gossip columnist, he doesn't cover movies, talking gossip is the only way to 'promote' Jake and PoP.

Anonymous said...

I believe there is probably a BT. That information came out from Ted back when he still seemed to have sources deep from within J&A's camp. Now, I don't think he does have any sources that are close to either of them. Once Jake decided he was going deep into the closet and was going to beard, he shut down all those people who were blabbing.

Anonymous said...

I totally dislike Justin T but I think he is the beard in the relationship with Jessica Biel. Basically Ted's new video is "notting" Jake as Toothy.

Anonymous said...

The only one who mocks is the pissed at Ted trolly. That wasn't going to change regardless of whether Ted is accurate or not.

Anonymous said...

Ted can't talk about gay Jake, can't out him. Ted is a gossip columnist, he doesn't cover movies, talking gossip is the only way to 'promote' Jake and PoP.

But he promotes straight Jake. And in his TT BI's he bitches about his people and others doing so.
Beyond stupid of him.

Anonymous said...

But he promotes straight Jake.

What should Ted do? Quit talking about Jake? Quit talking about Jake's potential 'girlfriends'?

Anonymous said...

The whole thing with Ted is odd. He's gone from needling TT about not coming out to defending him for not doing so with his endless posts of how HW hasn't changed--and Ted just seems behind the times half the time when he does that. He's sloppy with the details, e.g. when he backed off claiming TT didn't want studio heads to know he's gay when they already do.

Something is up. Ted spending too much time on his book and not his column, or he's covering for Jake for some reason now, as if he doesn't want Jake's being gay to be blamed if PoP fails.

I almost wonder if Jakey didn't personally beg Ted to back off until after PoP.

Anonymous said...

What should Ted do? Quit talking about Jake? Quit talking about Jake's potential 'girlfriends'?

Yes.

Anonymous said...

I almost wonder if Jakey didn't personally beg Ted to back off until after PoP.

I think there is no need for that. PoP promoting machine is so big and strong that Ted can't touch it.

Anonymous said...

I think Lainey exaggerated as always. I do, however, think he hung out with her. I guess gay men never hang out with women or party with them.

Lainey lied or someone lied to her and she was happy to post the 'story'.
Closeted gay actors hang out with women, too, and they don't deny it, especially when they are working hard to sell straight public image.

Anonymous said...

I love Rachel McAdams but she is WAY too cool (non-cheerleader-like), arty and independent for Jake.
We are talking about bearding, how would that matter?

I can't imagine Rachel would be into the media circus Jake has been attracting since Reese.
There is no media circus around Jake, he doesn't arrange photo ops and his PR doesn't post fiction in tabloids.

Anonymous said...

Basically Ted's new video is "notting" Jake as Toothy.

What are you talking about?

Anonymous said...

Before someone asks, yes I am the poster who has those dreams that turn out to be the opposite.

Colin Farrell supports anti-homophobia campaign said...

Actor Colin Farrell is supporting an Irish campaign against homophobic bullying.

The 31-year-old star, who is from Dublin, spoke out for LGBT charity Belong To's STAND UP! campaign.

His brother Eamon, 37, is gay and Farrell was the best man at his civil partnership ceremony in 2008.

Farrell said: "I can't remember much about the years of physical and emotional abuse my brother Eamon suffered. I was very small. The thing I do remember though, quite literally, is blood on his school shirt when he came home in the afternoon. The beatings and taunting were very frequent for my him and a constant part of his school years.

"People are often afraid of difference. They feel that anything that causes fear, should be turned away from. My brother represented fear for so many people, but caused joy in my life. From a very young age he made me laugh with his intelligence and wit, made me aspire to his strength and goodness. He was to be embraced. "To many of the students of his school however he was to be feared. He was to be turned away from. I didn't understand it then, and I still don't know."

Farrell added that bullying was "torture" and "potentially fatal" and should have no place in the world. The charity's campaign is a week-long event to raise awareness of the issues faced by LGBT young people.

It will run from April 9th – 18th and this year is the first time the event has been held.

"We saw it and said, 'There's no question mark?' According to PEOPLE, our "romance" is official, but PEOPLE must know people because we don't know the people that they know. The thing is, what Maks and I do joking around gets taken seriously," Andrews said. I guess UV must have "forgotten" about that "funny" Isabel Lucas story where Jake may have been "yanking their chain" when he said "Who?" when asked about Isabel. She's jumped in with some pictures at lashes, but didn't mention it. Of course, she wants to keep any rumor of him with a female going. And the thread is funnier by the minute - now they're shipping Jake all over the place and arguing about who's best for him: Aniston (too old, too many relationships), Anne, Natalie, they even threw in a pic of him "flirting" with Susan Sarandon, lol! They're better than a sitcom!

I stopped posting on Cullen's site after it was revealed that he teried to squash the scandal that he gave a mod acces to his account and stole money. Money donated by posters so he could by space on Variety among other BBM related stuff.

The FBI couldn't really do anything becasue asshole Cullen just turned over the account to the thief who had done shit like that before, he name was Pete.

Why would you or anyone else still support that site is a mystery.

There are other BBM sites.

Florida Tom said...

Why would you or anyone else still support that site is a mystery.

Oh, for Christ's sake, scrolling through some of the posts at DC every few weeks to see how ridiculous they are isn't "supporting" the site. How melodramatic, lol. I don't know anything about some supposed scandal and don't care about it.

Anonymous said...

Yeah jackass Dave said that he didn't think to have seperate accounts for the donations so it all went into his personal account so you know that Pete wasn't the only one dipping.

So you be too critical about posters shipping actors they don't know and never will but ask yourself why are you and the others still posting on that shit site with that pretencious asshole Cullen. He Only is keeping the site up so clueles assholes like you can buy his next shit book.

PS: The site has too many right wing freeper types, log Cabin shitstains who are sexist, racist and anti-semetic (they really showed their flabby white asses when Obama was elected).

My "favorite" momnet was when one of the freepers kept calling Natalie Portman and Jake's Mom a Jewess, a term not used since Nazi Germany by most people.

Anonymous said...

8:18 Of course you don't give a shit you dolt, people who really didn't have any $$$ donated and all Cullen cared about was if the scandal would get out. Fucking scum.

8:21, I'm not "posting" on the site and have never bought any of Dave's books, not that it's any of your business. I don't even know if any of the shit you're saying is true or not. To be honest, your ramblings are almost incomprehensible (as well as completely OT) and don't add a lot of credibility to your words.

I agree, it's time people get involved to stop bullyig - schoolteachers, principals, guidance counselors. I hope that those involved in bullying that young woman who was driven to suicide are prosectued to the full extent of the law, and their parents too.

You have to register on that forum now if you want to access that site, something Dave decided to do. So if you are not posting there, you certainly are registered there. Why would you be registered on a site if you don't pst there? To read threads? Sounds pretty pathetic.

The shit i'm talking about is true, the brokies that post here are well aware of it but they defended the scum because he started the first BBM site, OMG!!!

You sound too dumb to read any of Dave's books so of course you wouldn't buy any of them.

Log cabin freepers posted all the time there, self-loathing gay men IMO. Wanted respect but didn't respect women, Jews, African-Americans, etc. Fucking hypocrites.

When the shit hit the fan, some posters became disgusted and started posting about it on other sites incuding the DL. well the BBM hags had a hissy fit, Dave's dirty little secret exposed!!

What a fucking joke.

Some of the freeprs used to post here all the time until "Jackie" decided that it didn't look good and so they "went away".

Source Code: Duncan Jones boggles Jake Gyllenhaals Mind + Set Description said...

Jake Gyllenhaal has been enthusing once again on working with Duncan Jones on ‘Source Code’. Speaking to Ain’t It Cool News‘ Quint during last weekends Wondercon 2010 in San Francisco, Gyllenhaal claimed the movie they are currently filming in Montreal is “mind boggling”

On working with Duncan Jones:

“Duncan is so awesome and he is an extraordinary director – working with him has been that exactly and I think this movie that we are making is mind boggling.” “I’m telling you man, he is really quite something. His mind… he comes from quite a pedigree, just artistically, but on his own I believe he is the next generation. He is blowing my mind on a daily basis. “To me, working with him, it’s surprising, his instinct, his sense of collaboration, but at the same time truly being an auteur…”He’s the real deal man. Anyone who has seen [MOON] knows that and this – you are really going to like it!”

Read the full interview on the Ain’t It Cool News site by doing the clicky piccy thing. Good to hear Jake enthusing about ‘Source Code’ and working with Duncan, and we have had further details on what the film will look like from Duncan’s Twitter feed this afternoon:

Got fingers crossed for Japanese Moon opening… in the meantime, today is the last day of shooting in our highly surreal “Pod” sets!

Sets are so bizarre… like Geiger had a baby with Escher, and then fooled around with Picasso in his randy cubist period!

I also have to say that Jake G is funny as hell, and Russell Peters had his hands full trying to keep up with Jake’s on set improvs.

Right! Back to set for our last half day of shooting in the seriously weird-arse surreal set! Hoooya!

Unfortunately, will not be able to engage the skills of my junior artist to create a mock up of that lot (like with the train), may bend his developing brain a bit.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Kate Hudson: Future Jewish Couple Alert

For those of you who read US Weekly religiously (don’t be ashamed, everybody’s doing it) you already know that after three years of dating wholesome blonde Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal is finally a single man. And you probably also heard the news that Jewess Kate Hudson was just dumped by baseball "player" Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez, leaving the actress, as she’s never alone for too long, trolling for fresh tail.

I don't think POP can overtake SATC with women but I don't think POP's targeted market are women. I never got the why women love SATC, its the stupidest show ever. I think SJP actually thinks she's her character in real life. I hope because its the start of summer, families will be out in huge numbers to see POP. It needs really good reviews as a family/geek picture thats lots of fun. It needs to target the market who isn't obsessed with Cary Bradshaw's shoes.

Speak for yourself. The TV show was a classic and all four women were perfect.

Now I didn't like the movie but I LOVED the show and I love those characters (just like so many women who flocked to the theater the weekend the movie opened) and you can bet I'm going to RUN to the theater the weekend this new movie opens. PoP doesn't thrill me--I'm not a teenaged boy but I may see it later on. But I'm going to RUN to see SATC 2 when it opens because those four characters are like old friends to me.

I hope it'll be better than the first movie but I won't be holding my breath.

Jake did not even know he was attached to Damn Yankees, let alone Rachel or Isabel. I am starting to think that even his own PR team does not respect him enough to keep him in the loop re the stories they spin about him. Of course Jake is gay, so could care less what woman they link him to. One is as good as the other. Maybe he would rather not be bothered with the details.

James Franco - DL gossip:

"I've posted this before. But at the time of the filming of Spider Man 3, I think, I saw him [James Franco] walking down 5th Ave by Central Park with this guy who was obviously gay. They were strolling, chatting, laughing, bumping into each other at times. It was very intimate, almost arm in arm.

First I was struck by how attractive he is in person, and actually bigger than I thought. With celebrities, it's usually the opposite. And then I was struck by how "friendly" he was with this particular obviously gay man. They had the body language of a couple."

Jake wasn't asked about Rachel at Wondercon, he was asked about Isabel and he told them he didn't know what they were talking about.

Why would Jake bring up a colleague from Oscars during PoP promotion? I bet Popsugar reporter asked Jake about Rachel or made that up:

popsugar: After the panels Jake headed to the Disney cocktail party, where the iPad was the talk of the town and of course Jake had one to play with. Jake told us how excited he is to see himself as a Lego for Prince of Persia, a toy that he still gets to play with thanks to the little kids in his life. He's currently filming Source Code in Canada with Vera Farmiga, which he said has been an amazing experience. Jake also got cute talking about how gorgeous Rachel McAdams looked on Oscar night, though he admitted that he left a few footprints on her long dress!

Jake answering another fan question about PoP

What did Jake Gyllenhaal think about learning Parkour for PoP?

Sorry, Ricky Martin. Flying under the gaydar is less frequent than ever. said...

There have, it seems, always been celebrities -- or friends or co-workers, or aunts or uncles -- that we know, in our heart of hearts, are gay or lesbian. They just refuse to admit it, fueling our curiosity with a stubbornness grounded in fear of being discriminated against or damaging an established career.

But research shows that people who remain in what's known as "the glass closet" are fooling only a small slice of the populace, and that human beings have a staggeringly good ability to judge sexual orientation.

"We've found that 'gaydar' has quite a bit, if not perfect, accuracy," said J. Michael Bailey, a Northwestern University psychology professor who has researched people's ability to guess other people's sexuality. "We've done studies where we've brought people into the lab, videotaped them describing the weather in Chicago, and then brought in other people to watch the video and judge them. And they're almost always right."

In a 2008 study, Bailey found that gay and straight people who viewed the videos correctly identified straight people 87 percent of the time and correctly identified homosexual people 75 percent of the time. The research, involving about 50 subjects and 50 raters, also found that gay and lesbian people don't have much of an advantage over straight people when it comes to guessing whether a person is gay or straight.

Many who judged Martin's sexuality certainly based their opinions on his behavior as a performer, as well as other mannerisms they would see in interviews. Bailey agreed that most of those perceptions are based on stereotypes of gay men.

"Stereotypes are often at least partly based in truth," Bailey said. "It reflects what we call 'gender nonconformity' in gay and lesbian people. On average, gay men tend to be a bit feminine and lesbians a bit masculine. That's on average and not every case, of course. There are gay and lesbian interest patterns.

"Certainly acting, dancing and singing are interests that are more common among gay men than straight men. Obviously, not all actors and dancers who are male are gay, but there's a higher-than-average number of them that are."

In recent years, a number of celebrities long suspected of being gay have left the glass closet: Neil Patrick Harris and Lance Bass, as well as "American Idol" singer Clay Aiken. Harris and Bass cited intense Internet speculation about their sexuality as one of the reasons they decided to come out.

These revelations can only up the confidence Americans have in their gaydar, raising the stakes for others out there who have long been the subject of sexual-preference speculation. But there's also a far greater acceptance of homosexuality, both in Hollywood and in American culture in general. Which allows someone like Martin to leave the closet behind and state publicly: "I am very blessed to be who I am."

Good for Jake for being so high on the list; have to agree with Gosling at No. 1 though, and it was great to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emile Hirsch on the list, too. I wonder what happens next year when Jake is no longer "under 30," - does he just move up to the "30 and over" list automatically, lol?

Anonymous said...

Obviously, not all actors and dancers who are male are gay, but there's a higher-than-average number of them that are.

I think that's a fair statement.

Anonymous said...

Many who judged Martin's sexuality certainly based their opinions on his behavior as a performer, as well as other mannerisms they would see in interviews. Bailey agreed that most of those perceptions are based on stereotypes of gay men.

They guessed "straight" 87 percent of the time because the majority are straight. And surprise, surprise, they were less accurate judging who was gay, and had to rely on stereotypes. They have a 50/50 chance, in fact higher odds, guessing straight. Pure BS study. Who were the people being studied, is this the one where it was college kids only, not a cross section of the general public?

Anonymous said...

The research, involving about 50 subjects and 50 raters, also found that gay and lesbian people don't have much of an advantage over straight people when it comes to guessing whether a person is gay or straight.

That's all? That doesn't sound like a broad enough study group to me. I hear a lot about how there are more gay people than straight in the arts, but I'd like to see actual numbers. I'll bet the difference isn't all that dramatic.

Anonymous said...

8:58 AM,

For some gay people stereotypes are very true (Clay Aiken), for some not (?), but gaydar exists and gay stereotypes are based in truth.

Anonymous said...

James Franco is not on the list, but he is 32/33, so. :)

Anonymous said...

I wonder what happens next year when Jake is no longer "under 30," - does he just move up to the "30 and over" list automatically, lol?

I've never seen a "top actors over 30" list.

Anonymous said...

Well then why are gay people offended by that? There very well may be some validity to gaydar, but there isn't any convincing scientific evidence of it. That report of the study really doesn't have much in the way of factual information. It doesn't say much about the study group or raters, whether allows includes cross-cultural differences, different ages, etc.

Anonymous said...

I hear a lot about how there are more gay people than straight in the arts, but I'd like to see actual numbers. I'll bet the difference isn't all that dramatic.

You can't get actual numbers about closeted gays, but I'm sure the difference is dramatic - I bet 80% of male Broadway performers are gay.

Anonymous said...

You may be able to extrapolate by the information you have, but if you can't get actual numbers, you can't make the claim. All I know is if I were to say to anyone I knew that I thought someone was of a certain sexuality because of some kind of intuition I had about them, they'd look at me with raised eyebrows, and probably think I was a homophobe. They'd probably wonder why I would bother. One person's gaydar is another person's discrimination and homophobia.

Anonymous said...

I've never seen a "top actors over 30" list.

I haven't either - I was joking :) But it makes me wonder why there isn't - does HW think it's all downhill after 30?

Maybe they do? But it's nonsense. Depp's and Pitt's careers i.e. just started in their 30ies.

Anonymous said...

Is James Franco's career worse than the careers of the under 30 actors on the list? I don't think so!

Anonymous said...

Offended by gay stereotypes? I think gay people are offended only when stereotypes are used as an insult or when straights expect every gay person to fulfill gay stereotypes.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, that's BS.

Of course they didn't lie about the godfather thing. They idea that they all conspired to lie about such a thing is absurd. It's more of an honorary gesture anyway, it's not like they made him her guardian or something, and it's odd to me that the notion seems to bug (some) people so much.

Anonymous said...

I think gay people are offended only when stereotypes are used as an insult or when straights expect every gay person to fulfill gay stereotypes.

Obviously. Which is what the study said - the "raters" relied on gay stereotypes. That by its very nature is an insult. If gay people are using the term, it's their own and I have no problem with that, although I'm sure individual people would take it their own way.

How can, for example, 'gay men tend to be a bit feminine' stereotype be an insult?
There is nothing wrong with being a bit feminine man and there is nothing wrong with being gay man.

Anonymous said...

The stereotype itself isn't an insult; it's applying it to everyone without regard for their individuality that is the insult. These "subjects" were only asked about the weather in this test, yet someone could observe them and recite chapter and verse about their lives without knowing anything about them? Bizarre notion.

Anonymous said...

9:52, nobody said there was. There are other stereotypes, that's not the only one. You seem to want to twist people's words to try and prove something to yourself, or you've got too much time on your hands. Find a hobby. There's nothing wrong with them by themselves, it's how they can be used to marginalize people. Just put yourself in the place of the person being rated, or someone of another race and you can see how it's unfair.

Anonymous said...

Not bizare at all, sometimes you just need a picture to guess that some person is gay.

What do you suggest? That we pretend gay stereotypes don't exist or are wrong?

Anonymous said...

Why would you need to guess about someone at all? Unless you wanted to date them, I can't see why you'd care. Even then, it's a might be, not a given, until the person tells you his or herself about something that belongs to them, not anyone else.

Anonymous said...

What do you suggest? That we pretend gay stereotypes don't exist or are wrong?

I'd say treat a person as an individual first, and not rely on a stereotype, as you hopefully would not with someone of another race, religion, or sex. That's all.

Anonymous said...

Why would you need to guess about someone at all?

Gay people - because that's extremely important for them.
Straight people - curiosity about other people and science.

Well, basically, it is. But I guess cheating is the lesser of two evils—in puritanical America's eyes. A lot of guys like Toothy and the rest of Hollywood's closeted gang would be professionally destroyed if their true sexuality was revealed—and they know it. Look at Tiger, he's already back at the Masters and doing just fine. What kind of crap is that?

Dear Ted:

Stereotypes aren't bad per se. Try not to piss off a skinhead if you're black is a sound advice.

Anonymous said...

For gay people I can understand - but for those of us who are not scientists or census takers, I don't know.

Anonymous said...

Stereotypes may have some basis in fact when they originated but there are always exceptions and you have to allow for change. Human beings are too dynamic to fit into, or stay in, neat categories. I would say try not to rely on stereotypes in your every day decision making about other people.

The next time we watch a movie with stereotypical characters, why complain? ;)

Anonymous said...

Curiosity about people who are different from us is natural.

It is, but the information you get from your curiosity, as long as it's positive, I don't have a problem with. If it's used to hurt, bully, insult and marginalize, and to deny civil rights, that's what's wrong. Especially if you are not basing your judgements in fact, just intuition.

Over the weekend I went up to San Francisco for a quick trip to WonderCon. It's a smaller version of the giant fan convention Comic Con. And for movie fans, it's also a chance to get an early look at big summer movies. Thousands of fans joined me at the Moscone Center in San Francisco for the annual event. It's first and foremost a place for comic book fans to get together, many of them costumed of course.

I didn't partake in the costume contest, but I did go informal. And that didn't get by actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

"How are you man? I always talk about your vests and you're not even wearing one," said said Gyllenhaal. "When you are at WonderCon you're like, 'I'm just gonna be chill man. This is just, like, a casual environment. I'm not wearing my vests.'"

Gyllenhaal was there to promote his upcoming video game to big screen action adventure film "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." The film has staked its claim to the Memorial Day weekend. And that lets him know this movie is big.

"I'm definitely feeling the pressure, but the pressure is exciting. As movies and stories get bigger and bigger, and this is the biggest film I've been in, it just gets more exciting," said Gyllenhaal. "I am really excited. I'm proud of the movie."

I totally disagree on Austin not being an alpha male. Check out the biking pictures and coffee pictures of Austin & Jake.

You’re right, in photos with Jake, Austin is quite alpha-acting. But may I respectfully say, acting doesn't necessarily mean being.

An alpha male is the top-ranking animal in a social group. Sometimes outsiders will think a dominant-acting male or the biggest talker is the alpha, when the real leader – the person with the most respect and support of his peers – is actually someone else. For example, Jack Black is loud and dominant-acting, but listen to the Tropic Thunder DVD commentary and you’ll see he’s not the top dog at all. (It's RDJ.) Sometimes the alpha is a typical jock, sometimes he is the Michael Corleone that everyone simply knows is the alpha dog. Usually he is the one with the knowhow, the talent.

Alphaness can also be situational to some extent. The cocky male in a group of betas (his nerdy pals, say), may turn submissive around more dominant males. Put Austin next to Sean Connery, Bruce Willis, Benicio del Toro or Sean Penn and he doesn't seem very alpha. Even wee Sam Worthington looks like he could kick (nice, tall and intelligent) Austin’s ass.

Alphaness has certain subjective elements, but somehow everyone knows that Russell Crowe is an alpha male and Matthew Broderick isn’t. Austin is not as metrosexual as Broderick, but he’s not the lead-the-troops-into-battle type, either.

Let me add that there is nothing wrong with being other than alpha. 9 out of 10 men are not, and they are likely much better partners. I live with an alpha and it can be a pain in the butt. ☺
