No matter how much some posters here can't strand Heath, the truth is he was anything but zzzzzz but then he had his own crowd that in all probability didn’t include Jake. My guess but I would imagine out of 50 scripts maybe 3 have zing. Out of 3 that zing maybe 1 or 2 get picked up by a studio, director, etc. and get on the planning board, out of those 1 or 2 are many actors vying for the role, what are the chances Jake will get it? Then I bet there's times when Jake gets offered a few that he loves but he can only take 1 project. Murphys Law.
Don't be so quick to judge if Jake doesn't have any movies listed because if its for real, the public is the last to know, its always announced after everything is a done deal and the ink is dry. If its not for real, its a PR thing to make it look good on an actors file or to pull in other players to help the project. You have no idea really behind the scenes so don't say Jake has nothing going on.

^^ Sorry, don't agree. Just watched three movies on TV with A list Stars. Those movies did terribly at the box office and these people are still making movies! Some movies are hit and miss. The studios try, but there are some dud movies with big time stars. I think Jake has a chance just as some other male stars who had a big hit once or twice and still trying to capture that success. Jake is not the only one.

Remember Reeke returning to LAX from Cabo last year, Reese purposely dragging her kids thru the paps for a photo op so she could play victim? Look at this pic of Abbie and Ava (Ryan and Deacon were cropped out) at an Australian airport over the holidays. You won't see Ava looking like this with Reese and her narcissist PR photo op mothering skills at work. What a difference, eh?

Um no, 5.36. What about IHJ? They started up long before BBM. In the Media section Jake used to get like 7000 views on each pic. Now he's lucky if he gets 500, tops. Average is 300. The IHJ Community Forum also used to be buzzing with hits and posts. Now the most current posts are in the non-Jake sections. In the threads about Jake, his movies, his pics, whatever, it's common to only have a maximum of 1 to 3 posts a day, if at all. It's a graveyard.

Macleans Magazine, a very well-respected newsmagazine in Canada, had a special entertainment feature this week. In a section called "Mergers", Jake and Reese were featured prominently among other couples who "got together" in the previous year. Their photo was bigger than anyone elses'. The story consisted mainly of how they shop together and have ended up dressing alike. It alluded to ring shopping, and goes on to say how they hope J&R don't dress alike on "their big day".
This is not verbatim, and I can't be bothered to look on the website to see if it's posted on there.

I agree with 11:41 and others here. I think Reese is a terrible mother. How many times have you seen her kids this year? Once or twice because they are with their father. Now he'll go make a movie and you'll see weekly family photo ops with step daddy Jake. I can't believe he is falling for this especially if he is straight and this is his real girlfriend. I'm horrified by either him bearding or him being with Reese Witherspoon for real. This is just nothing that I ever expected from Jake.

Reeke has not generated interest (check out the Google charts on OMG earlier this week) and I can't see the really big directors wanting to use people who are all over the tabloids like that without the huge fan base. Brangelina is the only couple like that, and it's because producers know they bring in the fans to their movies.
95% of Reese Witherspoon media coverage is about the fauxmance or the fauxmance is used to draw attention to some Reese story.
You don't get to be America's sweetheart because you get your picture out there every day. You get there because people like you. That fact is clearly lost on Reeke and pr. Wasn't Keifer Sutherland and his girlfriend at the top of some list for favorite couple recently in a European rag? I guess we can see why, instead of arranging photo opps it sounded like he kept it low key, gave authographs to fans, etc. He clearly knows what fans want.

Austin came over a little while after lunch, and met everyone who was there. He was amazingly sweet, I was actually kind of shocked for some reason. I thought he'd be cool, but he was really, really friendly, and hilarious!

My friend's encounter with him was great, too. She has an 8 month old baby, and he was sleeping at the moment, and she was holding him (he was covered in a blanket). She went to take a picture with Austin, and he goes "what's in here?" and he lifts up the blanket! It was hilarious that he took it upon himself to do that. She told him it was her baby. He said "wow! He has a lot of hair" and asked my friend the baby's name, and her name too.

People have been predicting the demise of Reeke and Jake's career since October 2007. It's now March 2009, and both are still here.
Both Reese and Jake have filmed movies. Jake just finished in December of 2008.

You may not remember Eric Nies from the first "Real World: New York" -- but now you'll know him as the guy who risked his bare ass to save a puppy from drowning in a partially frozen lake.
During a recent trip to Bear Mountain in upstate NY, a cute little doggy named Sugar Ray decided to chase some geese onto a sheet of iced-over lake water -- when the ice suddenly gave way. As Nies noticed the pooch struggling to stay afloat, he immediately stripped down to his birthday suit and dove in after him.
Nies eventually grabbed the pooch and got him back on the ice, where the scared little guy could run back to dry land.
Eric suffered a couple of scratches -- and mild case of popsicle crotch -- but he proved that ripped has-been reality stars can not only be relevant, but downright heroic.

Life happens, school, work, marriage, babies, children, a whole host of other things as an Actor get older. When I went, there was a mixture of people, full theater - there was no howling in derision, I saw gay couples touch each other affectionately afterwards, and one guy sitting next to me I could see shed tears. I agree with most of your comment, but if I'm not mistaken, and I don't think I am. BBM was not marketed as the gay movie. It was pitched as two straight guys who happen to fall in love with each other because of their circumstances and situation. "Life is a Force of Nature". So I don't feel Jake was wrong when promoting the movie. This was a very big part of promoting that movie. And, I was one who was drawn to it for that very reason!

Previous poster summed up younger fandom pretty accurately - younger people move on, live their lives.
But what she didn't touch on was the older faction of fandom, which I think is the most interesting aspect. I have noticed that older fans, fen, will stay in a fandom long past its sell-by date for lots of reasons: they're older therefore their commitment is stronger; their children are long since grown leaving them looking for something to latch onto; they're unhappy with their current lot in life, therefore they follow the life of a celeb; since they're unhappy with their lot in life their celeb-following sometimes turns to anger directed at that celeb.
What I also find interesting, especially in the BBM fandom, is just how many people are new to the internet, new to fan communities. It makes me think they have no idea how to behave either online or in a fan community. I especially find that here on this blog where so many people are incredibly vile and bitter and unwilling, or unable, to give quarter to fellow human beings.
It really is one of the best movies I have ever seen. :)

Jake is going to need the gay fans and fangirls for PoP to be a big hit, so I'd say the fact he's pissing off those fans is a big problem for him.
