Actually yes he does. And I am someone who will not get into the is he gay or bi debate because only Jake really knows what he is and where he is. None of us can say what stage of someone's life they choose to partake in all things but identify as two or one thing or use one thing as a stepping stone to something else because life doesn't stay static it moves in a learning curve.
But he does seem to come alive and crack out the big genuine smiles even around total strangers more than the staged, precise photos at Just Jared. Which s nice but also quite revealing imo. You can't fake that kind of feeling I don't think.

Sponsorship drought breaks for Matthew Mitcham
OLYMPIC gold medallist and gay icon Matthew Mitcham has finally secured the corporate sponsorship deal that has eluded him since the Olympics.
While it's not in Stephanie Rice territory, Mitcham's year-long contract with Telstra is a "relief" for the diver who has struggled to attract interest from the corporate world despite his perfect-10 dive in Beijing.
He blames the current economic crisis rather than his sexuality for the sponsorship drought but is grateful Telstra has backed him.
"I was a little bit worried... so hopefully this will be a snowball effect, but I don't want to count my chickens," he said. "If I can get the opportunity where I would be able to train without having to worry about paying the bills, that would be the ultimate goal."
While refusing to reveal the dollar amount of the deal, Mitcham said it would be a "significant" help - without which he would find it difficult to continue the 11-session a week training schedule needed for the 2012 London Games.

Halperin's stories are not making sense in terms of timelines or storyline. During this same time period, Jake wasn't just dating, but (I think) living with Kiki. Also, where does Austin fit into this?
This just reads like a fleshing out of Ted's BI about Toothy hooking up with a producer to get better parts. But Ted did not imply that this was a serious "love" relationship, just a serious of hookups for kicks, and possible personal career profit. But again, where does Austin fit into this storyline.

And dated does not mean necessarily publicly. You can date in full view of the public or within the confines of Hollywood circles, in ways the public never really know about.

To thump it home yet again, in the hope that contact will be made to whatever gray matter is avaliable, I said that "dating" doesn't necessarily have to be done in the public eye.
An actress (for example) can date or have a public friendship (assumed as more by MiniVan Majority) with an actor while behind the scenes "dating" a mogul for industry functions. The public doesn't need to know this aspect and she doesn't need to mention it.
