FYI: The Untitled Moon Project has been put on hold by Doug Liman. The director is focusing his next move on Jumper 2 (with Hayden Christensen). ... So, Doug Liman is not working with Jake Gyllenhaal, but happily working with Hayden Christensen (and as you can see, these actors acting skills have nothing to do here):)
And this means no Untitled Moon Project for Jake in the near future.

The bigwig was thought to be Lance Armstrong. The movie was supposed to be his bio pic. As such he has the power to choose. Hence the term bigwig. The BI came out about the time of the 3 amigos and Jake was supposed to be in the Armstrong movie. He went about in Livestrong gear & a yellow bracelet for a while till the movie fell through. Given how little we’ve actually seen of Jake over the past twelve months – two films that grossed only $43 million between them; his very low profile since the death of friend and Brokeback Mountain co-star Heath Ledger – it truly is a testament to Gyllenhaal’s enduring appeal to gay men that he topped our list for the second straight year. (It should be noted, however, that he edged out John Barrowman by only the narrowest of margins.)
What accounts for Jake’s ongoing appeal to gay men? His doe-eyed, boy next door (yet somehow smoldering) looks certainly don’t hurt, but we suspect what really makes gay men go for him is that he doesn’t have an issue going for us. From playing gay in Brokeback to appearing at a GLAAD award show to not feeling the need to distance himself from his gay fans (remember the shout out to us done in drag on Saturday Night Live?), Jake has done as much as any actor to show straight guys there isn’t a good reason to be afraid of gay guys (or gay roles).
Jake’s upcoming projects will showcase his range and willingness to tackle a variety of roles. This December he’ll be starring in director Jim Sheridan’s drama Brothers, then in 2009 moviegoers will see him tackle the romantic comedy Nailed before playing Dastan in Prince of Persia (based on the video game of the same name). Alas, none of his roles have him playing gay again, but we are curious to see what he does with his upcoming role as Joe Namath.

For what it's worth, People says the party only had 200 guests, not 500. Maybe they arrived in shifts. I think Jake going to this thing is creepy. But he wants to be A list. I am not convinced that Cruise is still A list.

Yes, there is Eonline report by Carole Something, but no one else mentioned Reeke (at least not at the moment I've checked), there are no pictures (as far as I know), that "sighting" sounded too much like "A-list" Reeke PR and could be easily made up.
It should be pointed out that Eonline reported P. Diddy, Prince, Cuba Gooding, Ben Stiller and Dakota Fanning as being there but no one else did.
In Touch, The Chicago Tribume and Washington Post and Jared has updated as Jake and Reese being there, but I assume they are getting that info from the original source, E.
E never mentioned Kyra Sedgwick or Posh, Rita Wilson but they were reported to be there. There are a handful of pics but it's all of some arriving in cars.
I think the different reporting is due to the fact that so many were there and different sources were reporting them as they arrived.

If you look at the comments on AfterElton from people giving their top ten choices before the poll closed Jake wasn't number 1. He's still liked by gay/bi men but he wouldn't have won the top slot without the boost given by women voting.

That's why the majority of voters probably were gay man. It's a site visited mostly by gay men than straight women. IF straight women did vote, I don't think it made that much of a difference. I think Jake would still be second or third maximum.

If everyone in HW knows about Jake, then why is he bearding?
