I have not understood. what do you intend?
There would be no reason to hide the fact that Jake was at the Advocate event, if indeed he went. He was being honored for his role in BBM, not for any gay advocacy work.
I really doubt that a gay publication would agree not to say anything about his being there and simultaneously honoring him. Part of the reason for these events is to get publicity, and when you agree to accept an award, it just goes with the territory.
It's not like they were honoring him for being a gay man or something else that would out him.
I think Jake is still allergic to anything that might call attention to his being gay.
I do think that we'll find out in time whether or not Jake was at the Advocate event.

I don't have to have pictures from the Advocate 45th to know that Jake was there. I just have a very strong feeling that he was. He went to L.A. ahead of time, was able to see Austin and the kids were able to see their dad. I think he & Austin attended the event, Jake & the kids probably went back on Friday and we had sightings of Jake in NYC on Saturday.
He's been seen at ABC Kitchen enough now that it's not a surprising thing that he was tweet sighted there on Saturday. I give him credit for being seen out & about in NYC on Saturday.
I'm over & past the "smoking" pics. They were shocking to me but hardly earthquake rumbling. To me, they're just another sad revelation in what the closet has done to him

Sounds like we all agree on one thing Jake is in the closet and it does not become him at all.
It was obvious from the beginning that Jake agreed to sell his soul to the HW closet machine. He did not want to but was convinced to play the game. Jake is one thing. He is a stubborn man. He knows that the game has not worked well for him but that has made him more and more determined to pull it off. One can only wish Jake will surrender and finally become the beautiful spirit that lies behind the wall.
I agree about Jake being stubborn and determined to pull off being straight. I also think the whole hobo look is also part of that stubborn streak, it's like he's flipping off his fans.
He doesn't look like a hobo. He looks like a man in downtime between jobs. I don't see how that is "flipping off his fans". What does that even mean? He's supposed to dance to the tune his fans pick for him even when he's not working? Sheesh.

The only difference that I notice is the beard, in Berlin it was without beard and all you said how much he looked great, I find that more it spends the time, more its beauty turns him into something different, but always very beautiful he remains.

What's up with all the Jake hate all of a sudden? Some very unkind and cruel comments being posted on OMG. Boy, are they sore losers.
Sadly I can see many such comments here too. I thought most of us liked Jake, but apparently not. Waiting for Toothy should be a positive experience but since people are taking it all too serious, comments are getting more judgemental.
I know we all want the guy to come out, but sane people can handle backlashes without getting nasty. For all those saying he's ugly: BS!!! I'm not a fan of the beard, but I know that underneath that he's still breathtakingly gorgeous. He looked mighty fine in Berlin. He still has it.

He's created a world apart and almost seems ill equipped now to navigate in the public arena. We are not just talking closeted here. I can see why he might be attracted to the Saramago script. Jake is a walking poster boy for the double image and mental discord between dualing realities. Talk about concealed subtexts and contradictions! All I can hope is that he reunifies with himself one day

'Jake and I had been discussing a script with a mutual friend, producer Lynette Howell. I knew he was into music videos, so when we wrote up the treatment, I sent it to them. They both responded well to it. And then we just had to sort out dates.'
'The atmosphere on set changed from scene to scene. In the party scenes there was no real distinction between shooting and not shooting, it was just a party so the atmosphere was a party. Then we’d just walk Jake in. We were shooting in the snow quite a bit which was testing. Sally Campbell cooked up Irish stew and turned up on set with that which lifted spirits considerably.' The summer forecast for Toronto just got a little hotter. Big screen star Jake Gyllenhaal is shooting his latest movie in the city.
The 31-year-old actor will play two roles — that's right, two — in An Enemy for Canadian director Denis Villeneuve (Incendies) from May 22 to mid-July.
Based on a novel by the late José Saramago, the film is about a history teacher who tracks down a man who appears to be his exact double after spotting him in a movie.
Gyllenhaal has worked in Canada before. He made the acclaimed 2005 film Brokeback Mountain in Alberta and both 2004's The Day After Tomorrow and last year's Source Code in Montreal. Earlier this year, the star's father Stephen Gyllenhaal directed a made-for-television movie Sworn to Silence in and around Toronto.

So where did Jake Gyllenhaal head on Monday night after the Paul Newman tribute? Spies say Gyllenhaal headed downtown to the Mercer Hotel. It’s the same place where Catherine Deneuve her daughter, Chiara Mastroianni, went after the former’s tribute across Lincoln Center plaza for the Film Society. Mother and daughter ran into Gyllenhaal, who had a table in the bar lobby with Sean Penn, Ben Stiller and Kanye West, among others. The Mercer is again the hot spot late at night, topping the Waverly Inn. Stars are looking for hangouts. New York has not been this hangout free in years.
