I grew up around an appreciation of the arts and I always had that core feeling that this was something I would pursue later on in life. I graduated from high school when I was fifteen and then went to college at sixteen where I continued studying acting and film (in addition to other things). After graduating I headed out to LA, enrolled in the Strasberg School and have been on the grind ever since. It’s been a fun ride so far!

Jake Gyllenhaal is helping to produce a true-crime flick about accused Ivy League killer Thomas Gilbert Jr., who is set to go to trial for the murder of his Manhattan hedge-funder father, according to media reports.
ReplyDeleteThe planned film, titled “Gilded Rage,” will be based on a series of Vanity Fair articles about the slaying of 70-year-old Thomas Gilbert Sr. and co-produced by Conde Nast Entertainment, reported the entertainment website Collider.
It’s unclear whether Gyllenhaal will star in the movie, which is slated to start production later this year in New York, the report says. Gilbert, 34, was raised with every privilege, attending the best prep schools, including the Buckley School and Deerfield Academy, and summering in the Hamptons with his wealthy friends.
But the handsome 34-year-old had been mentally unraveling since his late teens and was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia, his mother, Shelley Gilbert, has told The Post. After years of increasingly erratic behavior, Gilbert showed up at his parents’ Beekman Place home in January 2015, sent his mom out get him a sandwich and allegedly shot his father in the head.
Prosecutors say Gilbert was furious after his dad, a wealthy investment banker, slashed his $3,000-a-month allowance by $200. But Gilbert’s defense team has argued that he suffers from schizophrenia and had a psychotic break. Openings in the trial are scheduled for next Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, and prosecutors are expected to call Shelley Gilbert as their star witness. She said she was subpoenaed and has no choice but to testify against her son, whom she believes belongs in a hospital, not prison.
“It’s brutal. Brutal. The whole thing has been brutal,” she previously told The Post in an exclusive interview. “I still don’t believe all this has happened.”
