>> Jake Gyllenhaal Is Finally a Dad, Thanks to His New Calvin Klein Campaign > Two weeks ago, the headlines that Jake Gyllenhaal was suddenly desperate for a baby seemed inescapable, thanks to an interview the 36-year-old actor gave about the joys of babysitting his sister Maggie's daughters and wanting a family of his own, which brought to light all the repeated instances in which the actor has vocalized his dream of becoming a dad. Much quicker than nine months later, Gyllenhaal's prayers have — at least temporarily — been answered, thanks to his new gig as a Calvin Klein model. ...

This definitely explains Gyllenhaal's recent forays into fashion, beyond becoming pals with Tom Ford after starring in the designer-director's film Nocturnal Animals last year: The actor turned heads when he made it to the somewhat sparsely attended New York Fashion Week: Men's this summer for Simons's Blade Runner-esque showing in Chinatown, as well as Calvin Klein's usual star-studded show last month at this past New York Fashion Week. In fact, judging from photos of him with Simons, he seems to be building quite the family at Calvin Klein. · W Magazine article from October 5, 2017

  1. And so I sat down to watch David Gordon Green and Jake Gyllenhaal‘s Stronger (Roadside, 9.22) with a guarded attitude. Here we fucking go again, I told myself — the story of real-life Boston bombing victim Jeff Bauman (played by Gyllenhaal) overcoming the loss of his legs and becoming a hero of perseverance. This is certainly what’s been sold by the trailer, which is full of rah-rah uplift.

Well, guess what? Stronger includes a few inspirational moments in the third act, but mostly it’s a darker, grimmer and more despairing thing than you might expect. It’s been shot and cut in an intimate, off-angled way, and it certainly doesn’t unfold in the usual manner, at least in terms of rousing third-act recovery music and scenes designed to tug at your heartstrings. And Gyllenhaal, it must be said, really drills into Bauman’s pain, shock and despair, and I mean in a Robert De Niro-as-Jake LaMotta sort of way.

Is this Gyllenhaal’s most award-worthy performance ever? That’s a tough call for a guy who’s slammed it out of the park four or five times over the last dozen years (Brokeback Mountain, Zodiac, Nightcrawler, Demolition, Nocturnal Animals) but I honestly think it might be.

Augmented by some first-rate CG that totally convinces you that his legs are truly absent, Gyllenhaal’s Bauman is certainly more intense and blistering than Gary Oldman‘s Winston Churchill, I can tell you that. And I really admire that he never seems to be trying to charm the audience into liking him. That’s partly an aspect of John Pollono‘s script, which is based on “Stronger,” a personal recollection book by Bauman and Bret Witter, but it also comes from Gyllenhaal’s bravery.

  4. ET: I know this is the first movie released by Nine Stories but is it the first one where you’ve really been a hands-on producer?
Jake: I have an executive producer credit on End of Watch. I didn’t develop the script but as an actor I worked very intensely through pre-production, giving creative input and being part of discussions, and at the end of the process it was given to me. So that was sort of the first thing. Then Nightcrawler came up. We had made End of Watch for relatively little money and when we started to do Nightcrawler, [producer] Jennifer Fox came to me and said, “We want to shoot this movie for $8 million bucks in L.A.” I said, “I know how to do that. I just did that with End of Watch.” And I did! I understood about shooting in downtown L.A. locations and I said, “I want to produce this with you.”

ET: And now you have the producing bug.
Jake: I do. I like it all. I think generally when you talk about actors having a production company it seems like kind of a vanity thing — like you want to tailor projects toward characters you might want to play. For me, it’s never been like that. We’re from a family of people who make movies and I’ve always loved filmmakers. It seems like a likely progression that feels so good. It’s fun.

ET: And you have some good things coming up as well.
Jake: I do. I just worked with Jacques Audiard [on the upcoming The Sisters Brothers]. That was incredible! Extraordinary. He’s my favorite filmmaker in the world — I never thought I’d work with him and then I got that call. I was like, uh I don’t need to read it. I’ll do it. And he turned out to be everything I expected and more.

    SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2017
"A Mark, a Yen, a Buck, or a Pound; Money Makes the World Go Round"

Whether selling an obligatory straight image, an "it's not you, it's me" onliness, or an upcoming film project dropped just in time for an awards season consideration, Jake Gyllenhaal and the concept of subtly have never quite been the most compatible of companions. The most recent example of this assertion being the obvious juxtaposition of Jake with a surprising number of newfound African American pals, kindred spirits who are apparently nearby every time Jake gets near a camera.

The curious phenomenon actually began with Jake and an out of the sky date night affiliation with Jay Z and Beyonce back in 2014. ...

In this instance, Jake gets a two for one, without much effort. Selling his "I live in New York" narrative, and his cool chumminess with the African American demographic. Jake didn't have a movie to promote at the time. But, the date gives away another reason for the stunt appearance. May 10, 2014. That fateful "The Day After Tomorrow" audition meeting between Jake and Paul Wesley's fake new "boyfriend" Austin Nichols! ...

Using his newfound New York stunt vehicle of the fashion show, Jake was suddenly seen after the Labor Day holiday with Lupita Nyong'o, Mahershala Ali and Trevor Noah at the Calvin Klein Collection event. ...

Suffice it to say, Jake's people have never grasped what it means to practice a less cynical, and slothful approach to selling their closeted client's professional wares. All they know is that movie attendance for Whites and Hispanics has actually declined in the last several years, while tracking data from 2013, specifically points to African Americans going out to movies 4.2 times more than the latter, paler demographic which clocked in at only 3.4 times. Who cares if Jake looks Machiavellian and unbelievably conspicuous in his desperate search for black "friends," when he needs them.

  10. A close friend of Jake Gyllenhaal gave me crucial advice on how to become BFFs with him
    ...
Anyway, I recently got the opportunity to chat with Jeff over the phone, and I knew it was something that couldn't be passed up. If there was one person who might be able to give me the sort of valuable intel I'd need to become BFFs with the world's greatest actor/beard-grower, it was Jeff.

Here's a transcript of how our conversation went (Jeff, if you're reading this, I can only apologise again for how ridiculous all my questions were).

Me: What advice would you give someone hoping to become friends with Jake Gyllenhaal?

Jeff Bauman: What kind of advice... man I don't know... sorry, let me think about this... he's just a really cool guy, well-rounded, he knows a lot about everything. So to become friends with Jake you'd probably have to impress him a little bit, I guess. And you have to be really funny.

Me: Would you say he's an easy person to make friends with?
JB: Yeah, yeah, he's just a really genuinely nice guy.

Me: Describe Jake in three words.
    JB: Handsome, loving, and hard-working.

Me: What's his favourite TV show?
    JB: Rescue 911.

Me: Do you know what his favourite film is?
    JB: Inside Out.

Me: What would you say the fastest way to Jake's heart is?
JB: You gotta be real. You have to be honest.

    Me: What's his favourite animal?
    JB: A dog.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Me: Do you know his favourite band?
JB: Yeah, he likes Iron & Wine.

Me: What 3 things would you say annoy him most?
JB: Asking him to read lines from his previous movies; interviews; and pictures.

Me: Like people taking pictures of him?
    JB: Yeah, photographs, yep.

Me: So if I meet him it would be a bad idea to ask him for a selfie, for instance?
    JB: Yeah, don't do that.

    Me: What's his favourite food?
JB: He likes anything healthy. He's a real health nut.

Me: So like salads, that kind of thing?
JB: Yes, exactly. I don't know if that's his favourite, but—

    Me: What about favourite drink?
    JB: He likes coffee.

Me: How does he take his coffee?
JB: He likes Americano, so black—

Me [Excitedly]: I like Americano too! So that's a good start, right?
JB [Calmly ignoring my outburst]: He likes his coffee black, I've seen him drink a latte, but mainly he likes his coffee black.

Me: Is he a morning person or a night owl?
    JB: Definitely a morning person.

Me: What's his favourite type of candy?
JB: His favourite candy is either Skittles or Peanut M&Ms.

Me: What would you say his three favourite topics of conversation are?
JB: Film, music, and probably basketball.

Me: How does he most like to relax and unwind?
JB: He works out. That's, like, his main thing that he likes to do. Work out with his trainer.

Me: What app would you be most likely to find hIm using on his phone to kill time?
JB: Tinder. [Laughing] I'm just kidding! No, yeah, I'd say Tinder.

Me: Does he have a favourite author or book?
JB: Yes: Man's Search for Meaning, by Viktor Frankl.

Me: Describe his sense of humour in one word.
    JB: He doesn't have any.

Me: What's the one thing you'd say Jake loves above all other things?
JB: Himself. [Laughter] I'm joking... Humility! I'll say humility. That's the one thing he really loves, humility.

Me: Lastly, based on this interview so far, on a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate my chances of becoming friends with him if I do manage to bump into him at the London Film Festival?

JB: Probably a good, hard 4.

Me: I'll take that. Do you think you guys will stay in touch after all the publicity for the film's died down?

    JB: Yeah, unfortunately.

So there you have it. And in case you think I'm the kind of guy who's so dangerously obsessed he'd make up an entire conversation, he's actual proof it took place (apologies in advance for my unhinged, cackling laugh):

  12. Years of great performances by Jake Gyllenhaal have been building to this moment: the moment when actor and role fuse so completely a movie critic can suspend disbelief, which is just a fancy way of saying the star inhabits his character so completely, it feels like he's telling the truth.
    ...
In this pivotal role of gal pal Erin, Tatiana Maslany (best known for playing multiple parts on TV in "Orphan Black"), proves equal to Gyllenhaal's consummate skill, and an extra level of poignancy is added by a reunion with Carlos,- the man who saved Jeff's life after the bomb went off.

"Stronger" is better for showing Jeff when he is weaker and we suffer with him as he tries to walk with his prosthetic legs, but the movie ends up honoring a guy who says he's no hero -- just a survivor.

"Stronger" is that rare movie that makes life better for having seen it, and Jake Gyllenhaal deserves an Oscar for his efforts.

  27. ... He’s a normal person totally overwhelmed by the magnitude of his experience, and Gyllenhaal occupies that experience from a place of genuine fear and uncertainty. It’s also what makes that ending possible: Even in Bauman’s grimmest moments, Gyllenhaal seeds a desire to connect with those around him that can eventually be channeled into his salvation.

Playing the central figure in a true-life story of perseverance might seem like the safest decision for an actor — and in many cases, it is. But under Green’s direction, Gyllenhaal’s acting in Stronger is the most challenging and revealing work he’s done in years, and exactly the right role for this point in his career. There are few actors in their 30s more well-rounded than Gyllenhaal right now, as capable of taking on disturbing psychologies in aggressive indies as they are the lead roles in crowd-pleasing tearjerkers.

And to think: He could be making Prince of Persia 3 right now.

I love patterns. Jake has been in Los Angeles for a week, yet he has not been seen anywhere, even though it's his hometown. He knows thousands of people there, loves to drive, but not seen out and about to get his face on Just Jared or some other gossip site to get some easy publicity for that film of his. No jogging. No restaurants. No casual walks on the sidewalk with a friend. Nothing. Not surprisingly, Austin is MIA as well per usual.

And, speaking of patterns, guess who also just happens to be in Los Angeles at the same time? Ol' sis, Maggie. That's right she was on the James Corden show last night. Even though her HBO series has been on for three weeks and already renewed for a second season, she pops up in California to still "promote" the project at the same time Jake is marketing "Stronger". That family is all kinds of close, if you know what I mean? And, with Austin having to be publicly separated from the hubs over the weekend, looks like Jake might need some help with those kids. Particularly, if he plans to be transporting them back to the East Coast after his ArcLight Cinema event on Friday.

Like clockwork, Austin will be flying out to Philadephia for a Convention at the same time to provide "proof" he's not in LA this weekend, but where was he all week? That's the question everyone should be asking.

  38. ON THE CRITICISM THAT JEFF BAUMAN SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PLAYED BY AN ABLE-BODIED ACTOR:
I mean, I understand. I have spent so much time with so many people who have suffered from injuries like Jeff. And their stories are extraordinary. And they're incredible humans. So I understand the criticism, you know. At the same time, I feel like, you know, I've done everything I can to understand, as best as I could, his situation. It's hard for me to speak to it, really. That's the irony here. ... It's almost impossible for me to give an answer here because it's really more for Jeff. It's more Jeff to answer because it's Jeff who knows the situation because it's his. And when asked, I feel like I have heard him say that he's very proud of the amount of work that I put into it. And it means so much to him and that's all I can ask for. But I guess I could just say that I understand.

I would just say there's a part of me that feels, in talking about positivity, that as much as I feel like I absolutely understand, I would say how about it's wonderful we're making movies about people who are struggling and who have disabilities. This is a movie that sheds light, I think, on all of those things. And I think I speak for David Gordon Green when I say I think that that should be applauded. It's very important and I've heard from so many people with disabilities in particular how moved they are and how important it is that that story get out there that people understand that pain. But again, I really understand also where they're coming from.

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF CASTING THE REAL LIFE PEOPLE FROM JEFF BAUMAN'S LIFE:
It was something we came to. It wasn't an initial instinct. At first, David Gordon Green was trying to cast different actors and then during the research -- because we spent over a year and a half on and off in Boston in pre-production and just in research -- we met all of his caretakers. And in the midst of it we realized how extraordinarily charismatic and extraordinary all of them are. They're just amazing people. And I think shooting in Boston is where it began. The idea that we needed to have the essence of the city, this place, the energy.

This movie's not only about Jeff. It's about the community around him and the city around him. And this thing, this thing there, why there's so many movies come out of there that are so beautiful. It's this feeling and we wanted that energy in the movie.

ON CASTING BAUMAN'S REAL-LIFE DOCTOR TO PLAY HIMSELF IN "STRONGER":
Dr. [Jeffrey] Kalish, his surgeon, was in for a meeting with us one day. And David turned to me and said, What if we ask Dr. Kalish to read for Dr. Kalish? [laughs] Like, okay. Dr. Kalish went home and he practiced all night. He said he got little sleep which is sort of hilarious because he usually sometimes operates at night. And he was exhausted and he said, I've been running my lines. And he ran his lines, he auditioned and he was terrible. [laughs] And then David said, Just talk to us the way you would talk to your patients. And Dr. Kalish started to talk to us just as if it was post-op and he was talking to parents and it was extraordinary. It was just beautiful. And David just decided, Let's start casting as many people that we can that were around Jeff.

Q: Do folks attempt to set you up on dates?

And, with Austin having to be publicly separated from the hubs over the weekend, looks like Jake might need some help with those kids. Particularly, if he plans to be transporting them back to the East Coast after his ArcLight Cinema event on Friday.

Even though her HBO series has been on for three weeks and already renewed for a second season, she pops up in California to still "promote" the project at the same time Jake is marketing "Stronger".

As Good as a Blind - Toothy Tile Back to His Sneaking Ways?

Well, well, well....a bit of gossip found while taking a rare perusing through DataLounge. Narnia doesn't shy away from anything, even if it's goss pertaining to Jake doing his own kind of perusing around while in the Big Apple. While this author never bought the Henry Cavill nonsense, DL is not without a few drops here and there involving pool tables and glass coffee tables that could be worthy of contemplation. LOL! But we're still in the Family Hour right now, so we will not delve into that at this moment.

    What ye say, Tooth?

I agree that if Casey Affleck got an Oscar, Jake probably can. But he is cast wrong all the time. He should be a star in the Dustin Hoffman, Jack Lemon vein. Romantic comedy and drama. he tries too hard and it shoes in his performances. He is a turn off to movie goers, and interviews terribly. Everything he says rings false. He is supposedly hooking up with the guy from Younger, Nico Tortorella which makes him a bit more interesting..
    —Anonymous

Kind of looks like Austin, doesn't he? How good with kids is Tortorella? *wink*

Just a sidenote: Nico Totorella acts in a TV show called Younger, which films in.....New York City. Hmmmm, that's convenient, isn't it? Right there in the Big Apple where Tooth, I mean Jake, loves to sell himself as living now. Complete with a love nest?

That compound's starting to get a bit crowded, isn't it? Dog. Mama Matriarch. Big Sis. Nieces. Reynolds. Co-Culinary partner, Blake Lively, and Speed Dial Caruso. Now young side piece? Jake is looking a bit fitter these days. Perhaps he's more motivated, if you know what I mean? After all, if Austin can have a bit of "fun" with Paul Wesley on the side, then surely Jake can have a "younger" buck to 'digital dance' with on those late night constitutionals with Leo.

  53. Someone Set Up Jake Gyllenhaal on a Date, Stat

    He’s ready and willing!

Hello? Excuse me? Is this thing on? HELLO. O.K., folks, step right up. STEP RIGHT UP. Jake Gyllenhaal, acteur who just gave a nuanced performance as Boston bombing survivor Jeff Bauman in Stronger, is looking for a date. Was that a maudlin sentence? He pulled off what could have easily been a cloying role (it’s one that will likely get him an Oscar nomination), and the subject of dating can be considered so shallow, so flippant. If it was in poor taste, then apologies, but Gyllenhaal is a complex man, and one who, admittedly, is looking to be set up.

“People should set me up more often,” he told Mickey Rapkin in a new Q&A for Elle. “I absolutely encourage it. There should be more of that in my life . . . .” Has an ellipsis ever been more charged?
    ...
There is one thing that is a pro or a con depending on where you, potential date, are at right now: the man is ready to be a father. So do what you will with that.

  61. Duncan Thum to Score ‘The Iron Orchard’October 03, 2017 10:22 am

Duncan Thum has been hired to score the upcoming period drama The Iron Orchard. The film is directed by Ty Roberts and stars Lane Garrison, Austin Nichols, Ali Cobrin, Timothy Lee DePriest, Lew Temple, Allan McLeod, Temple Baker and Rooster McConaughey.

The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Tom Pendleton and tells the story of an unsophisticated and unskilled young man thrust into the brutal West Texas oilfields circa 1939, who ultimately becomes a formidable wildcatter. Gerry de Leon (Opening Night) wrote the screenplay. Houston Hill (Mercury Plains), Camille Scioli Chambers and George Sledge are producing the project. Thum is best known for his score for Netflix’s Chef’s Table, for which he received two Emmy Award nominations in 2015 & 2016. His other credits include the documentaries I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead and Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On, as well as the comedy The Wedding Invitation. The Iron Orchard is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2018.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend one of the gala screenings of “Stronger” at the ZFF and to see Jake Gyllenhaal himself as a special appearance. By far one of my favourite actors and it was just lovely to see such a “down to earth”- guy talk about why he loves making movies. The movie itself ripped my heart out and tore it to shreds but it was totally worth it. I really hope that I’ll be able to visit the ZFF again, whenever it may be. #zff2017 #stronger #jakegyllenhaal oh and excuse the quality we had to zoom in quite a bit even tho we were sitting in the 4th row (and were simultaneously wrecking our necks while watching the movie).

  68. Jake Gyllenhaal can add another title to his resume: model! The Nocturnal Animals actor was announced as the new face of the worldwide campaign for the Eternity Calvin Klein fragrance on Thursday, October 5, and Stylish has your first look at the print ad.

The 36-year-old award winning actor and producer rocks a scruffy look for the black and white ad, which also features model and advocate Liya Kebede and Leila, a four-year-old actress.

The campaign was shot by acclaimed photographer Willy Vanderperre, and Jake collaborated closely with him, according to the brand behind the fragrance, Coty. And if you can’t get enough Jake in your life, get excited — the handsome star will also be coming to your TV this October in spots for the scent.

Jake, Liya and Keila “will also be featured in the new Eternity Calvin Klein television campaign, debuting later this month, which will focus on Eternity Calvin Klein’s longstanding ideas of romance, love, intimacy and commitment,” reads a statement from the company. “Today, those values continue with the focus very much on contemporary life.”

Eternity was launched in 1988 by Calvin Klein, and won an award for Most Successful Women's Fragrance at the 1989 FiFi Awards. It was inducted in the Fragrance Hall of Fame in 2003. The scent has top notes of mandarin and base notes of amber and sandalwood.

This collab smells like a winner to Stylish, and Jake’s in good company! Past famous faces who have modeled for Calvin Klein campaigns include Mark Wahlberg, Kate Moss, Margot Robbie, Ed Burns, Christy Turlington, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.

With Belgian designer Raf Simons at the helm of Calvin Klein, it’s no surprise that he’s shaking things up. The company announced today that Jake Gyllenhaal will star in a new series of ads for Eternity by Calvin Klein, appearing alongside supermodel and advocate Liya Kebede and four-year-old Leila as a thoroughly modern 21st century family.

The trio will also appear in comercials that will debut later this month. In a press release Calvin Klein said that the new Eternity campaign focuses on “Calvin Klein’s longstanding ideas of romance, love, intimacy, and commitment. Today, those values continue with the focus very much on contemporary life.”

Gyllenhaal collaborated closely with Calvin Klein in conceiving the campaign, which was shot by photographer Willy Vanderperre, according to the company. It’s just the latest part of a very busy fall for the Oscar-nominated actor. Gyllenhaal also stars in the drama Stronger, playing Jeff Bauman, a real-life survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

    Is This #Congras Part 2??

Well, the you-know-what's getting darned serious when the Big Gun People.com is given a phone buzz by Team PR. The big news on the Jake Gyllenhaal front today? Was it the movie, Stronger? Nope, not today. "Police car ride-a-longs for five months"? "Seventeen stitches in his hand"? "Bleed-outs"? "Cooking with his best bro's wife"? Pfshaw, no! Let's take a look at how Jake has began his observance of Rosh Hashanah:

Jake Gyllenhaal Opens Up About His Desire to Be a Father: I Want a 'Family of My Own' https://t.co/4U92ONSq0q
    — People Babies (@PEOPLEbabies) September 20, 2017

... This is certainly an interesting turn of events, isn't it? Tooth, I mean Jake is literally - why, I think he just might be thumbing his nose at both Ted Casablanca and Narnia Dispatches' #30Days, whadya think? ...

Is there a reason why #SpeedDial beard Greta Caruso has been absent since those spinning, dog walking, Scotch egg eatin' with Mama G & Son photo ops in New York City?

Is it possible that Greta may emerge soon sporting a baby bump? Is Speed Dial willing to lay it all on the line for her go-to pal and carry boxes and over-sized gym bags in front of her rounded tummy?

Were the headline cries of "I Want a Baby" and "I'm Desperate for a Baby" the carrying vessels of a secret message to a certain Tall Texan? Are you listening, my main Food Truck Man Grey Goose? Is Mgmnt getting Margie Nicholson's fingers warmed up for another Facebook "Congras" gaffe? One thing all the articles are getting right is that yes indeed, Mr. Gyllenhaal loves babies. He wants more and more babies. He can't have enough babies.

The Vermeulen Furniture elves just might be at this very moment carving and varnishing an additional leaf for the Gyllynichols family table, what do you think?

You would think that Jake would just wine and dine his tall Texan if he wanted another youngin'. Instead of splashing his baby yearnings in the public square. Pssst! Jake - don't you remember? You're supposed to be in the closet. ;-)

your bullshiting is useless - Jake didn't hint that he wants another baby, he repeated that he doesn't have kids and doesn't have a spouse.

Alice Waters and Jake Gyllenhaal Are Teaming Up for a Special Cause (http://bit.ly/2y7cNXX )

You might be wondering what the queen of farm-to-table cuisine and an Oscar-nominated actor have in common. Well, on October 24, you can join both Alice Waters and Jake Gyllenhaal for an intimate reception benefiting the Edible Schoolyard Project, Waters's foundation that brings an edible education to schools all over the country.

Join them at NYC's Neue Galerie, along with other movers and shakers of New York's food scene, such as famed restaurateur Ken Friedman. Not only will you get to preview Neue's fall exhibition, but you'll also be supporting a long-standing program that provides free, nutritious lunches to students across the country and teaches them about making healthy food choices.

Gyllenhaal, an avid gardener himself, has been involved in helping to spread awareness of Edible Schoolyard's mission, citing it as "one of the best investments in the future of the country we can make."

You can also attend a cozy pre-reception, where you'll have a chance to chat with the Chez Panisse chef herself and help plant the seeds for the next generation of America's eaters.

"He says he's single now, but he's definitely open to finding the right woman and kids aren't far from his mind either. Here's highlights:

"I'm definitely thinking about that," he says. "Look-the most important job for a man is to find the right woman. It's the best we can do. I thank my father for choosing my mother. She's wonderful in so many ways. And she chose well, too. I've noticed in life that the mother, first, has a primary job-and as a father our job is to pick a caring, smart, mindful woman." - GQ interview, Jan 2007

Now, comes news of Round 2 for our guy. Cologne for the olfactory sensor appeal. After all, no doubt it helps to smell good to land that "perfect one", right Jake?

Yeehaw!! So now, is Jake taking his gardening skills to a new level with all of this seed planting?

"a television campaign set to debut later in October, which will center around themes of romance, love, intimacy and commitment."

Whoa. I guess our next question might be if we aren't going to be seeing some out-of-nowhere-sprouting with help via a phone's speed dial, are we??? Because it sure sounds like Jake is urgently looking to get started with this family business.

  128. One of my favorite things about voting season are the letters and emails you get from actors and producers. Today’s comes from #jakegyllenhaal. Every single time I’ve interviewed him he meets you at the door with a hug (a real one) and personally walks you back out. It’s a small gesture but super classy.
The movie is a great one too boot. Love me some Jakey Boy.

Are you able to get away with a movie filled with the inaccuracies of Armageddon today? While Michael Bay is still making movies, probably. “It's all speculation really in terms of how movies affect people's perceptions in the absence of difficult to perform, large scale sociological studies,” Colwell says. Understandably, few are willing to fund analysis into the psychological effects of Jake Gyllenhaal movies, but while global tensions rise alongside our sea levels, the lines between disaster movie and, well, just disaster are increasingly fuzzy. For reassurance, I ask Colwell that in a Deep Impact-like scenario, what should we do to ensure the future of the human race? “Oh, you wouldn't survive,” he replies. Great.
