Canal Street is a major street in New York City, crossing lower Manhattan to join New Jersey in the west (via the Holland Tunnel I-78) to Brooklyn in the east (via the Manhattan Bridge). It forms the main spine of Chinatown, and separates it from Little Italy. It also forms the northern boundary of the Tribeca neighborhood and the southern boundary of SoHo.
Because, quite a lot times I have read from the subway's tweets that Jake goes down in Canal st, and he is often sighted in Soho and Chinatown, but I don't know NY, I didn't for instance know that Canal St, was so big and important.

I just came across this lovely interview with the two guys of the band The Shoes for the “Bloginity” online magazine. I love the title Put On Your Dancing Shoes, very smart! It looks like they had lots of fun working with Jake, they say that he’s charming and professional. Duh. We’ve known that for ages, guys! :-)
Julija: Now let’s talk about the “Time to Dance” video. Where did you get the idea for it? What was it inspired by?
The Shoes: It’s all about Daniel Wolfe. It’s like he’s a part of the band. He understood our music and he gave something very personal for it. He made the video for “Stay the Same” (starring Johnny Harris). It was a real surprise for us. We respect his work, so we don’t have to tell him what to do or how to do his job. When you trust your director 100%, he gives 100% of himself. The director wants to feel free to create something crazy. It blows when the record company is trying to disturb him with unhelpful input.
Julija: What’s the story behind Jake Gyllenhaal starring in this video?
The Shoes: He appeared in a Vampire Weekend video before. He’s interested in music. And he has good taste. He really liked the song. And he’s Daniel Wolfe’s friend, so it was very natural. I still can’t believe that! The video production company “Somesuch & Co” did a very good job. We love them.
Julija: How was it working with Jake?
The Shoes: He was very charming and professional. It was during the snow storm in London. It was so freezing! We were in very warm parkas with scarves and gloves and Jake was in front of the camera dressed just in his fencing costume! What a man!!! And every hipster he killed in the video was very happy to be killed by Jake! Especially girls. [laughing]

It is my extreme pleasure to announce the premieres of two new plays at the Steinberg Center for Theatre this fall. The Laura Pels Theatre will kick off Roundabout’s 2012-13 Season with If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, a new play by British playwright Nick Payne, directed by Michael Longhurst, and starring Jake Gyllenhaal. And downstairs, in the Underground, we will have the world premiere of Bad Jews, written by Joshua Elias Harmon and directed by Daniel Aukin.
I am beyond thrilled to not only be welcoming Jake to the Roundabout family, but also to be hosting his American theatrical debut. In addition to his many films, for which he has garnered much well deserved praise, he also gave a highly acclaimed performance in This is Our Youth on London’s West End.
This fascinating, insightful, and provocative play is a darkly humorous story of an ordinary family facing difficult challenges. Nick is an exciting new voice in British theatre and I am happy to be introducing our audiences to his work. Michael will be making his New York directorial debut after a critically-acclaimed production of Nick’s play Constellations at the Royal Court Theatre.

On April 19, Roundabout's artistic director Todd Haimes announced If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet and Joshua Elias Harmon's Bad Jews (for the Roundabout Underground space) as additions to the 2012-13 season. The Pels and Underground are both within the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre at 111 W. 46th Street.

Special K made up a story (with lots of red arrows) about PR faking date for Jake, Maggie, Peter and Naomi photos in New York (October 8, 2011 - Out With The Family In New York City) in order to claim that Jake and Austin are together in LA when we think that Jake is in New York.
In that story she used size of Maggie's bump as one of her "arguments", so 6-7 crazy stories later it turned into "PR is photoshopping paparazzi photos and Maggie is using surrogate" stupidity.
Yes, OMGers are crazy and desperate like that.
