I don't believe Jake eats burgers for dinner, either.

Anonymous said...

do you think the tweet is fake?

Anonymous said...

Can't be sure, let's see if there will be more LA tweets.

Anonymous said...

I belive at this ally and her boyfriend,I mean why say a lie?

Anonymous said...

Why people tweet fake sightings? You should ask them, but we know that they do that all the time.

Anonymous said...

Makes sense if it’s an LA encounter. If it was in Texas, I might have to go join OMG…

Let's presume that sighting is true - it would prove, one more time, that crazy OMG theories are WRONG: Jake and Austin aren't so desperate to stay in the closet and hide their "family" that they even live in different cities, they are just friends who meet from time to time.

Anonymous said...

Well this girl tweeted about tv show and famous ppl a lot, so is possible the tweet is fake, other hand she says that her boyfriend has seen them not Her. what sense does it have to falsify a sighting that has not done her?

Anonymous said...

Same thing - using celebrities to make her tweets more interesting, to get attention.

They have to save their pennies. Toronto and New York are very expensive to raise 50.3 kids!

Why not? Perhaps Jake wanted a cheap burgers for dinner, don't seems so absurd to me.

FWIW I believe the sighting – especially now that we have proof of Jake being in LA. I just think it would be such a random thing to claim/fake (considering 99.9% of the world’s population don’t actually know about the Jake/Austin debate!). I know sometimes sightings are wrong – I assume some are due to mistaken identity, but I can’t see the boyfriend mistaking both Jake and Austin, especially if he actually spoke to them. I’m certainly not going to dismiss it due to poor food choices.

It’s not even a significant event IMO: just two long-time friends grapping a burger when both in LA – it doesn’t make me believe in marriage and 5 hidden kids.

Anonymous said...

especially if he actually spoke to them

You really believe that some guy said "my girlfriend would be freaking out right now if she was here" to Jake and Austin in some burger place?!?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Nah, don't think Austin and Jake would choose burger place to hang out and catch up.

Anonymous said...

I think the Diet-Discussion is a bit ridiculous TBH – but I’ll still respond for the heck of it! People stated:

-“When was the last time Jake was seen eating cheap, "ordinary" burgers? Like never”.
-“When was there a sighting about Jake eating cheap burgers or some other junk food?”. ”Never? Can't recall any in the last 3-4 years”.

And I proved those statements to be false. Clearly he does eat junk food occasionally (at least once in the past 3-4 years!). It is not too far fetched to assume he then also does it “off camera” at times.

Someone then responds:
“9:04 AM - that photos are from Lakers game….”
As if that disqualifies them as evidence! No one force-fed him at the game – if he was 100% committed (or fanatical!) about healthy dieting, he could have waited for a healthy meal afterwards. I’m sure they sold water at the game and yet he also chose to drink a coke (and there have been other pictures of him drinking non-diet cokes – and no, I’m not going to search for a link!).

I doubt he’s as obsessive with his diet as some people think. The POP regime was excessive and not sustainable long-term (if he wants some sort of social life). I think now he just maintains a good balance of healthy eating and regular exercise, whilst leaving room for some “guilty pleasures” such as cakes, lattes, burgers, wine and cognac (BTW nothing can wreck a diet/exercise regime like alcohol – and yet, he doesn’t seem totally opposed to that). He seems to follow the “everything in moderation” principle.

“Expensive cupcakes aren't junk food.”
Okay! I simply can’t be bothered to get into this as well….

Anonymous said...

And I proved those statements to be false.

You haven't.

Okay I'll play

1) There's no indication Jake bought or ate anything at all at In-N-Out Burger.

2) Pure beef isn't junk food. Check out how they do their burgers.

3) While Jake eats at good (i.e., expensive) restaurants in NY, do we know what he's eating at those restaurants? He goes to Joe's Shanghai a lot. They're not known for their healthy menu. Nor is ABC Kitchen. They may source locally but that doesn't mean it's all healthy.

--“You haven’t”.

Are you kidding? Let’s try this again:

-You claimed: There has never been a sighting of Jake “EATING cheap burgers or some other junk food” (at least in the last 3-4 years).
-I post a picture of Jake quite clearly Eating cheap junk food.

This makes your original statement False. This is non-debatable – even if you have since changed the parameters of the discussion.

--“You pretend that we don't have 1.000 tweets about Jake buying healthy foods or eating in great restaurants?”

No! I’m absolutely not pretending that. As I said, I believe he maintains a healthy diet the vast Majority of the time but not 100%. Just because he goes to a lot of “great restaurants” does not mean he can never eat anywhere else. You are the one pretending we don’t have any evidence of him (occasionally) eating junk, candy, cup-cakes*and drinking coke and alcohol – even smoking. He is not totally fanatical about his health, so why is it impossible that he would eat a burger?

* “Expensive cupcakes” are simply made from better ingredients e.g. organic flour, cream, butter, natural sugar, chocolate with high cocoa content etc. This makes them better quality and possibly more satisfying (so you eat less). However, in terms of insulin/blood-sugar hikes, fat storage etc. the body will react to these expensive sugars/fats/carbohydrates the same way it would a cheaper version. These cup-cakes are not “healthy foods” – they are still fattening treats, which Jake apparently has room for in his diet, so it probably isn’t too stringent. (and that’s the end of my boring cup-cake discussion!).

Anonymous said...

Jake eating junk food during ONE basketball game is your argument for "there is nothing strange about Jake eating burgers in "In-N-Out Burger"?

Anonymous said...

I agree that a pre-arranged meeting at an In-n-Out burger joint sounds implausible – it’s not where you go for a nice night out! But we don’t actually know the time of day; what they ate; or even if they ate on the premises.

It is possible they were just driving by and decided to stop in for a quick burger. People don’t necessarily want to sit down for a long, fancy meal every time they’re hungry. You don’t plan all meals.

Anonymous said...

---“That makes them good and healthy food.”

Oh wow!

I guess that depends on people’s definition of Healthy Foods then. The “Expensive Cupcakes” are better quality in terms of raw ingredients, yes. A slightly healthier option, even - but they Are still Cakes. Still a high fat, high sugar, high calorie food that should be eaten sparingly.

---However, in terms of insulin/blood-sugar hikes, fat storage etc. the body will react to these expensive sugars/fats/carbohydrates the same way it would a cheaper version.

-“That is NOT true. Please learn basic FACTS about food.”

And, Double wow!! That is absolutely true.

I would personally choose a higher quality/organic cake any day, for numerous reasons: animal welfare, environmental concerns, to minimize chemical substances in my food (additives, fertilizers, pesticides etc.) and for better tasting products – but I don’t fool myself into thinking it’s a “good and healthy” food choice just because the ingredients are produced locally and/or are organic.

From a basic nutritional standpoint there is no significant difference in how my body will handle the food. Organic butter Is Still Butter: i.e. > 80% saturated fat. Sugar is sugar and white flour = refined (empty) carbohydrates, whether it’s organic or not/ from the US or Africa, makes no difference. It Will be broken down as glucose and cause a sudden rise in blood-sugar and prompt the body to release insulin.

Anyway, I never indented for such an in-depth cupcake discussion! My original point simply was that Jake – although clearly very health conscious – does seem to enjoy special “treats”. Within his overall healthy life-stile there’s still room for an occasional cake (expensive, organic or not!), a glass of wine, coke – and yes, Perhaps even a regular burger once in a while. That’s my impression – and I’m fine if it differs from the majority’s here. It’s all just speculation after all.

Fancy-schmancy cupcakes are food for the eyes too - they are beautiful to look at. Sometimes I love to look in bakery windows and cases just for that reason. Almost like food voyeurism, because you don't have to eat it, just look! Jake mentioned cookbooks are like food porn too. ;)

But yes your body would process the ingredients pretty much the same way. They wouldn't have yukky additives and preservatives either, most likely. Jake probably does eat healthy most of the time, so a burger and fries or a cupcake is a treat, and fun.

Anonymous said...

You make it sound like there are no 100% healty cakes, wine or burgers. Coke is garbage, but all other things you mentioned make great food if you use quality ingrediance.

Humans need a balance of omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids in order to maintain a healthy weight. The brain constantly monitors this balance in the blood and when it finds we are deficient in one of these fatty acids, it instructs the body to retain more fat in order to fix the imbalance and regain equilibrium. Partly hydrogenated oils such as corn and soybean oil are super rich in omega 6 and very deficient in omega 3. Since our diets contain such an abnormal amount of omega 6 (try to find something in the supermarket that does not contain these oils), our brain must regain the balance by telling the body to retain fat. The problem is there are now very few sources of omega 3 available in our diets (wild caught salmon, walnuts, flaxseed are some). Meats and poultry used to be good sources until we replaced the animal's normal diet with corn which is very low on omega 3. The solution? Balance the amount of omega 6 and omega 3 by drastically lowering the omega 6 and increasing your intake of omega 3. This is easier said than done since almost every prepackaged, processes item in the grocery store lists vegetable oil as an ingredient. Salad dressings (even the low fat kinds) are loaded! So are crackers, cookies, breads, coffee creamers, etc.

Personally, I have decided to go back to real foods, including butter, cream, milk, etc. and follow Michael Pollan's advice: if your grandmother would recognize it as food, eat it, otherwise, don't.

Anonymous said...

Unhealthy foods? Concrete examples would be appreciated.

I know that fats and sugars make food taste good – but that doesn’t make them healthy. What exactly do you find so healthy about ice cream Sundays’ that they should be considered as healthy foods rather than occasional treats?

There is nothing unhealthy about fats and sugar if you use quality ingredients. I'm sure you know about cream, honey, vanilla, fruit, yogurt - healthy things used to make heathy ice cream Sundays by good cooks. I'm sure you have all that in the US!

the Mediterranean diet on which the Italian poor cuisine is based, (what is poor of meats butter or excessive cheese) it is an example of healthy food, and that sure doesn't include ham or bacon, if not in moderate doses, the Italian cuisine that is based on the fresh meats and seasoned meats, sauces, cheeses etc.. as for example that bolognese,(lasagna tortellini cotechino hams and bagged launchings) it is really very good but it is not an example of healthy food.:)

If we consider the composition of breast milk which is considered the world’s most perfect food, we discover that over 50% is fat, saturated fat at that. Saturated fat continues to play a critical role, the body simply would not survive without it. Saturated fats and other healthy fats from animal and vegetable sources are responsible for:

i. Proper cell membrane structure and function – this is needed for cellular communication as well as absorption of nutrients and excretion of waste products

ii. Heart and lung health

iii. A functioning immune system

iv. Hormone synthesis – a vital role

v. For health bones – assisting with the absorption of calcium

vi. A feeling of satiety as well as enjoyment

vii. Genetic regulation

viii. Nutrient absorption – fats are crucial for the absorption and assimilation of crucial vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients

That's bullshit. Pancetta and prosciutto are important part of Italian cuisine and they don't make it less healthy.

2:28 PM - is your ignorance about healthy eating based on info about diets for losing weight? That is the only explanation I can think of.

More bullshit.

Please don't exaggerate, I am Italian and I know of what I am speaking, exaggerated doses of ham are not healthy in American in Italy or in anybody else place. You don't know anything about the Italian cuisine, how much it is complex and different region for region and even city for city.An ingredient how very present to the south of the country, can be totally absent to the north or to the center, without counting that the Italy is a country of sea coasts and the fish it is integral part of our kitchen.

2:54 PM - one more time - I've said Italian cuisine. WTF "exaggerated doses of ham" has to do with Italian cuisine?

Hallo I come frome Italy said...

2:28 PM - is your ignorance about healthy eating based on info about diets for losing weight?

you are a lot ignorant about italian food and a lot arrogant. Do you have at least a vague idea of what the Mediterranean diet is? on what food regime is based. and on the fact that doesn't have anything to whether to do with losing weight?

Anonymous said...

3:03 PM - please read more carefully.

I've said that your ignorance about healthy eating could be explained by believing crap diets info.

Anonymous said...

you have said that the ham and the bacon are very important ingredients for the Italian cuisine, and that however stays an example of healthy food It is not true. the ham and the bacon are present ingredients, in our kitchen, but not more then other, and they are especially located, even if not only, in some regions, and the excessive consumption doesn't surely bring benefits to the health.

Anonymous said...

... the fact that doesn't have anything to whether to do with losing weight?

Healthy eating, like Mediterranean diet, has everything to do with losing weight. I think you could agree with that :)

Anonymous said...

the excessive consumption doesn't surely bring benefits to the health

Why are you always going back to excessive consumption?!?!?!?!?

Pancetta and prosciutto are part of Italian cuisine, you can't deny that simple fact.

no, the Mediterranean diet, is a name commonly used by physicians and researchers of the feeding, to identify a certain way of feeding , based on the ingredients that the surrounding environment in which you live offers you, and it doesn't have nothing to do with the diets for losing weight, and he mainly founds, on pasta, tomato, basil and various aromatic grasses, as for example the myrtle, oil of olive fresh fishnd white meats, milk and by-products of sheep or goats, fruit and vegetables, because this was what the territory offered. Then with to pass of the "milleniums" has been open and ascertained that it was one of the healthier alimentary regimes to the world.

This sounds like mechanical approach to food, I think you were told "pork and fats will make you fat" too many times.

Pancetta and prosciutto are part of Italian cuisine, you can't deny that simple fact.

La pancetta e il prosciutto, as salame or mortadella or the culatello or bresaola and spek or the "salama da sugo" used in excessive way, in some dish of the Italian cuisine, as for example the lasagnas or the cotechino, are not an example of healthy food, as instead you said.

Melanie Laurent, Sarah Gadon, Isabella Rossellini join Jake Gyllenhaal on An Enemy

14 May, 2012 | By Andreas Wiseman

EXCLUSIVE: Starry cast assembles for psychological-thriller being sold by Pathe International in Cannes; Toronto shoot underway May 22.

Melanie Laurent, Sarah Gadon and Isabella Rossellini have joined Jake Gyllenhaal on the cast of Pathe’s Cannes buzzer An Enemy, described by director Denis Villeneuve as “an existential erotic thriller.”

Gyllenhall plays Adam, a history teacher living a quiet life with his girlfriend (Laurent) until he discovers his physical double (who lives with his wife, played by Gadon). The two men’s lives become intertwined precipitating a lethal struggle.

Principal photography begins on May 22 in Toronto.

Javier Gullón adapted An Enemy from the novel The Double by Nobel Laureate José Saramago.

Producers are Niv Fichman and Miguel Faura, and co-producers are Luc Déry, Kim McCraw and Sari Friedland. Pathé releases in France and the UK and Alliance Films releases in Canada. Pathé International represents international rights. WME handles US.

Niv Fichman, founding partner of Rhombus Media, said: “If ever there was a dream team assembled to make a movie, this is it. From a stellar cast to the greatest production team, led by one of the world’s most intriguing directors. And we’re all thrilled to be working with Pathé, whose consistent guidance and support followed Denis’ vision at every step.”

Cameron McCracken, MD of Pathé UK, added: “At first sight, Javier’s brilliant script is a straight thriller. But as he starts peeling back the layers, it becomes a far more sophisticated, thought-provoking entertainment. Niv’s choice of Denis to master this material is inspired – we look forward to a great partnership”.

Mélanie Laurent

Mélanie Laurent (born 21 February 1983) is a French actress, director, singer and writer. She is best known to international audiences for her role as Shosanna Dreyfus in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film Inglourious Basterds, for which she won Best Actress from the Online Film Critics Society and the Austin Film Critics Association.

Mélanie Laurent was born in Paris, the daughter of Annick, a ballerina,[1] and Pierre Laurent, a voiceover actor (who dubs the character Ned Flanders in the French version of The Simpsons).[2][3] Laurent is Jewish, and has both Ashkenazi and Tunisian Sephardic ancestry.[4][5][6] A grandfather survived deportation by the Nazis.[6] Her maternal grandparents were film poster editors.[1] She grew up in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and was immersed from birth in the arts.[1]

Her career began when Gérard Depardieu, seeing her while she watched her best friend's father working on the set of Asterix and Obelix, asked her if she wanted to be in movies. Laurent replied 'Why not?' and next week his assistant called her. Depardieu gave Laurent a part when she was 16 in The Bridge, a drama he starred in and co-directed with Fréderic Auburtin.[7]

Laurent has appeared in 20 films between 1999 and 2009. Playing a depressed 19 year-old who longed for her lost twin brother, she starred in Philippe Lioret's I'm Fine, Don't Worry (2006), for which she won a César Award for Most Promising Actress. In 2006, Laurent and Belgian actor Jérémie Renier were awarded France's Romy Schneider and Jean Gabin Prizes for "most promising actor and actress."[8]

She is really c-o-o-l!

erotic thriller = goodbye oscar

I'm confused - nothing they said about the movie fits into "erotic thriller". Man finds out that he has a duble so he uses the opportunity to have sex with his wife/girlfriend?

Anonymous said...

I know the book, nothing about erotic and not even thriller.

Thanks. Looks like someone made a mistake or they plan to turn the book into erotic thriller.

Good book?

Anonymous said...

Good book?

Yes it's a very very good book, and Saramago is a great writer, He won a NOBEL.
But many things seems different by the original story as the names, and in the book the "enemy"is not married.

Anonymous said...

Oh boy, it could end like erotic thriller after all :)

Anonymous said...

I hope not, not with this cast.
