He has seen “Moon” and was a big fan of “Moon” and loved what I had done with Sam Rockwell. He said he really wanted us to work together. He suggested the “Source Code” script, I went off and read it, and said, “Yeah, I think we can do this. I can really get my teeth into this.” But my take and interpretation would be to lighten the tone and to try and inject a little bit of humor into it.

I think I finally get your agenda - you are desperate to give Jake more credit for "Source Code" sucess. Sorry, only people who don't know anything about "Source Code" and making movies could buy that.
I saw Duncan Jones speak after a screening of SC. Duncan made it pretty clear that Jake had the script for SC and pitched it to him. I don't know why someone is so intent on not giving Jake any credit for that. Moon was very well received by the critics, even if it didn't make much money because it was an indie with no money for marketing, and it's not hard to believe that money to make SC came in part because Jake got Duncan on board.
Jake and Duncan also worked really hard to promote the movie, appearing at different showings for Q&A, doing unconventional things like the Apple Store appearance, etc.
For the kind of movie SC is, it has done very well, and it is still playing in theaters in New York, also a good sign given the kind of film it is and the onslaught of the big budget summer movies.

Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in sci-fi thriller "Source Code" for Vendome Pictures and the Mark Gordon Co. Duncan Jones will direct and Mark Gordon will produce with Vendome's CEO Philippe Rousselet and Jordan Wynn. Production is slated to begin during the first quarter.
Summit Entertainment will distribute the film in the U.S. Summit International is also handling international sales, which began at the American Film Market with more than 15 territories licensed.
"Source Code" centers on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it.
Project had originally been set up at Universal in early 2007 when the studio bought Ben Ripley's screenplay and attached Topher Grace to star. Universal tapped Shane Abbess to helm last year. Current script includes revises by Billy Ray ("State of Play").
"Source Code" will launch the Vendome slate, according to Rousselet, who said the project exemplifies the types of producers and filmmakers with whom Vendome plans to work. He and co-CEO Fabrice Gianfermi plan to produce a minimum of a dozen films over the next five years.

According to Variety.com, the Frenchman Louis Leterrier (“The Incredible Hulk”, “Clash of the Titans”, “Transporter 2″) has agreed to direct the thriller with exciting magic “Now You See Me” in February 2011, based on a screenplay by Boaz Yakin and produced by Edward Ricourt and now is trying to co-opt some young actors in the cast, but already renowned in the City Film like Jesse Eisenberg (27 years), Jake Gyllenhaal (30 years) and Mélanie Laurent (28 years), although talks were held earlier with Jim Carrey, Hugh Grant, Sacha Baron Cohen, Colin Firth, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Olivia Wilde, without knowing whether the last mentioned actors remained on the priority list of manufacturers and are likely to appear on the poster or abandoned the idea to convince them to sign a contract for other rival.
The subject of this new project film follows a group of talented magicians who reward their loyalty to the fans who come frequently to their shows, giving them money which they themselves have obtained illegally by robbing banks during their sophisticated magic numbers. Those clever illegalities committed by magicians do not remain without an echo, and FBI agents began to investigate, such as a game of cat and mouse between the conjuror and people of law, first trying to stay one step ahead of their rivals. I really like the idea of his new film. Especially with all of the sleight-of-hand thievery and hi-jinx going on on Wall Street and government lately, ruining our economy - who are the real thieves anyway? Oceans 11 isn't the only heist movie ever made, they've been making them since the beginning of film - greed is the human condition. It'll be a fun catharsis for the audience to imagine a little "refunding" to the audience. I hope Jake will do it, and I love that Jesse Eisenberg is. ;)
