I haven't visited Ted's site for years. There are lots of other pointers. Just because you live in happy clappy land 95% of the time (until you get here) doesn't mean things aren't occurring outside your little pink bubble of security.
My opinion on Jake has never changed or been swayed by anyone. I believe he's likely not straight (fwiw), flies under the radar, is devious but can be nice as well. For me he's a mediocre actor for the most part - his past was suberb - and has participated in some of the silliest and most highly public showmances seen in recent years. He must have kept a lot of deskjob types very happy and their children in college over the last few years.
The ridiculously high-profile fauxmances or such a supposed 'private' man should set alarm bells ringing for miles. If you're straight with a real interest in women, why parade anyone about? It's absolute rock solid guff. Real relationships go out of their way to protect their partners from the limelight, as I suspect Jake has protected his real partner/s over the years.
People in real relationships are secure in their own sexuality and meaningfulness of that relationship. They don't need magazines to sell them as product day in day out like this guy has. Someone has to be planting these stories at such high level and that can only be done with the help of Jake's people, else tey would have put their foot down YEARS ago over this nonsense. And just said 'leave him alone'. You don't get Christian Bale or Ben Affleck's every move scrutinized in magazines. That is because these people do not feel the need to display their realtionships - most likely real in these cases - to the world and his wife!
The showmancing alone should be enough to make people wonder why. Why is Jake so BAD at holding down a basic relationship with a woman and keeping it free of intense scrutiny. When he was 'with' Reese there were daily updates on them that even the likes of publicity-mad reality show types didn't get. You don't sell a real relationship like that, because a real realtionship shouldn't need to convince people on an almost daily basis.
Sorry for that marathon. I just cannot see how someone can't see how they've been played by this whole PR bandwagon for years.

My count for eyes and teeth visits for the last six months = 13. Teeth cleaning, whitening, root canal and 2 caps (8) and eye checkup, contact fittings and glasses (5). It adds up fast. A little more than my usual number of visits but I can't imagine what routine and extra treatments actors like Jake who depend on their looks have to go thru. No wonder he seems to be at med centers a lot.

Golden Globe-nominated James Franco will play satanic serial killer Richard Ramirez and direct the movie version of true-crime author Philip Carlo's "The Night Stalker," Page Six has learned. The "127 Hours" star, making his directing debut, will start shooting this summer when he's on a break from Yale.
In 1985, Ramirez went on a rampage of sexual assault and murder, entering homes at night and generating fear throughout Southern California. He was later found guilty of 13 counts of murder, five attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries.
The film, also titled "The Night Stalker," will show how Ramirez, currently on death row in California, became a killer. It's being co-produced by Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell and Nicolas Constantine, who also wrote the screenplay.

Nicole Kidman isn't getting much coverage for a potential Oscar nominee. Annette Bening is getting more, but most are for Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams. I did notice, however, on blogs like ONTD or JJB that that there is much hate towards Natalie. It seems if some blogs could give out Oscars, Michelle would get it, not favourite Natalie. It's weird how people turned against her in the recent years. But I guess she doesn't care, she gave a great performace in a great film and will win the Oscar anyway. She'll probably get the GG tonight too.

Franco sends his assistants to his classes and received bad reviews for his writing. He may have enrolled for grad school, but I doubt he graduated. Did nobody see Ryan Secrest on the Red carpet interviewing Jake Gyllenhaal about his role of Viagra salesman in his movie? he asked him if he did any research for the role than asked if he had any on him and he then when and patted his pocket like he was checking. Jake seemed surprised and said "You touched my hip!" or something like it. Very awkward moment. Looks like Ryan has a crush!

Ryan has had quite a huge crush on Jake for some time. I remember when BM was up for a few Globes, Jake was off camera talking to Alfre Woodard. Ryan saw him and immediately started yelling "Jake! Jake!" Jake was trying to be nice as he was in the middle of a converstion with Alfre. Finally, he kissed Ms. Woodard on the cheek (as if to say "I'm sorry, this dipshit will not let up"), and walked over to a VERY smitten Ryan.

Just saw that Paul Giamatti won. I'm glad. Jake was good in LAOD, but not award worthy. I hope he'll win one day when he really deserves it.
