Dear Ted:
You so often told us that Toothy Tile knows he's Toothy and that he's proud of it. What about Gray Goose, is he a proud one, too?
—Robert
Dear Smile Like You Mean It:
Hardly. Grimacing through it all.
Dear Ted:
Who is the most loving, sweetest and hottest hubby: Toothy's or yours? Is Baby Tile old enough to walk?
—Grace
Dear Tile-icious:
Mine. No.
Dear Ted:
If Jake and Reese are just PR buddies, then as far as I can tell, he hasn't dated anyone since he broke up with Kirsten Dunst back in 2005. Is he that picky?
—Jill, M.E.
Dear Dump or Dunst:
Maybe he didn't date KiKi, either.

Dear Ted:
Would you answer the million-dollar question: Is Toothy Tile gay or bisexual? How about Gray Goose? What is the real nature of Toothy's relationship with his beard?
—Mia
Dear Tricky Tooth:
You mean the one on his face or the one on his publicist’s speed dial? Gay as my vocabulary, darling. Ditto on the real love in Toothy’s life.
Dear Ted:
I have so many questions for you! Is Daniel Craig Toothy Tile? Is Obama going to win? Will Brad Pitt pull a Woody Allen and marry Zahara 18 years from now?
—Jenna K
Dear Lot to Handle:
No. Hopefully. Better not.
Dear Ted:
Does Toothy Tile's GF/beard know that he's T.T.? Or if not, that he's gay?
—Pat, Chicago
Dear Loose Goose:
Enough with Toothy! He’s not even that good of an actor, what’s all the damn fuss, already? And, of course, Toothy's woman knows he's Toothy, as well as his mattress persuasions, duh. She's been down this road before, think she'd be over the swinging studs by now, but whatever.
Dear Ted:
You're so jaded about celebrity relationships. You seem to think like there's an expiration date to these couplings.

Dear Downer:
No worries, every day is Toothy Day here at A.T.!

Tom Cruise death report is "erroneous garbage"
Tom Cruise is alive and well, his agent said on Thursday, denying Internet reports that the actor had fallen to his death in New Zealand. "This is completely not true. Tom is not in New Zealand nor has he been there recently. This is erroneous and unreliable Internet garbage," Cruise publicist Jeff Raymond told Reuters.
Claims that the star of "Top Gun" and "Mission:Impossible" had plunged to death from the Kauri Cliffs circulated on the Internet on Thursday and were even picked up by traders on the Singapore oil and foreign exchange markets.
A similar erroneous report two years ago claimed that actor Tom Hanks had died after falling from the same cliffs.

DListed's Michael K. Talks Gayelles
ReplyDeleteFrom his inauspicious beginnings blogging for personal pleasure to his current status as a tears-down-the-face, piss-off-the-office with loud laughter, hilarious gossip guru to his more heady position as an anthropological chronicler of celebrity gayelle activity, there’s no denying DListed.com's Michael K’s priceless contributions to the blogosphere.
DListed’s tried and true daily doses of ironic hilarity, including his famed “Hot Slut of the Day,” and “Caption This,” posts and the familiarity with which he’s bestowed friendly monikers like “Fishsticks” for Gwyneth Paltrow, “Vadge” for Madonna or Madge, and Rojo Caliente for Cynthia Nixon’s elusive partner Christine Marinoni, takes the gossip sites to a new level of smart, witty and wildly irreverent.
Despite his range of interests including “Cheesus,” a famed Jesus shaped Cheeto that resides in a jewelry box courtesy of the lovely Evangelical loony toon that put it there and his fascination with Salma Hayek’s "chi chis," it's Michael K’s Margaret Mead-like devotion to studying the habits of famous lesbians, or gayelles -- the name he’s adopted for the Sapphic set -- that sets him apart.
The elusive Michael K., who’s harder to spot in public than his favorite unicorn-like gayelle, Rojo Caliente, took time out from his round-the-clock slate of wet-the-knickers funny celebrity blog posts the day after the Emmy Awards to chat with SheWired.com about his fave gayelles. And, in the midst of a friendly game of “Who’s the Celebrity Girl on Girl Top?” he indulged in a mini lesson on lesbian sex.
SW: Hi Michael. Thank you for taking time out from blogging. I imagine it takes a lot of energy. You’re so creative.
MK: I’m not.
SW: Aww. I really want to talk to you about gayelles. But first, I’d like a little background about you because there’s not much out there. How did you get started?
MK: I worked at a job for M, which is like a Manhunt type thing. I wrote the letters and stuff and I kind of just started writing there on my down time. At lunch when I had nothing to do I would write about stuff. I didn’t think it would become anything. It was just stupid fun and then, it was about six months to a year later when I realized there were people reading it and that’s when I had to decide where I was going to go with it.
SW: What was the catalyst that made DListed turn a corner and take off?
MK: I don’t know. I never promoted it. I never advertised. That was never my goal. I think it was that my friends would read it and they’d send it to their friends. I used to post personal pictures and stuff because I saw it as both a personal blog and a blog about just things that I like. So that’s when I decided I wasn’t going to make it personal. I was just going to cover this and focus on that.
SW: What was the genesis of staples like “Hot Slut” and “Caption This?”
MK: My friend Jesse and I always use the term hot slut…a positive thing.
SW: Of course.
MK: One day he was watching One Life to Live and he said “Oh my God, Dorian Lord is such a hot slut. You should post a picture of her and say she’s a hot slut.” So, that’s what I did and then it became a daily thing for people who weren’t very known or who weren’t famous.
SW: I love it. You are pretty behind the scenes compared to, say, Perez Hilton, who’s everywhere. Are we going to see more of you?
MK: It depends. I’m very skeptical because I don’t want to be like that. I feel like I’m already compared to Perez so much. Even if I do something that’s slightly like putting my toes out there, I’ll get people saying, “Oh don’t become Perez.” And I don’t want really want to become because I like the us versus them mentality. I’ve dabbled in things but I also don’t want to be cheesy. I’m not really good at being fake and on a lot of these TV shows and things, you kind of have to be showbizzy fake. And I can’t really do that. Even if I force myself. Plus, it’s easier for me to articulate through words than it is on the spot.
SW: I love your thorough gayelle coverage. When did you decide to claim the name?
MK: Well, there was an article I covered about this group… this movement of lesbians who wanted to be called gayelles because they feel like they are the female equivalent of the gays. So, Gay-elle. I thought it was kind of weird. I get bored saying the same thing all the time. So it became another word for lesbian.
SW: Well, it's thanks to you the term has a shelf life. On the subject of gayelles, we had a very special evening last night. Not only was it the Emmys but Rojo Caliente showed up. How did that make you feel when you saw your favorite gayelle?
MK: Ummm. I feel bad and I feel excited. I feel bad because I feel like she really doesn’t want attention and I’m giving her all this attention. People have actually sent me pictures of her on the street and I haven’t posted them because I feel bad. She’s not trying to be out there and she just happens to be in love with someone who’s famous. I get really excited and I want to talk about her but then I’m like, I kind of need to give her space.
SW: Awww. You care about Rojo.
MK: Now, if she were out there every night…

Will Smith Hired Male Hookers, Says "Discrete" Madame
ReplyDeleteOf all the rumors in Hollywood, Will Smith's love of men remains one of the most pervasive. We've been hearing for years that the super star and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, both go for the same-sex. It came as no surprise, then, to hear that Smith, who's been palling around with Tom Cruise and his anti-gay Scientologists, has spent some time with male prostitutes in the past. From the ever-vigilant Ian Halperin:
According to a notorious Hollywood Madame, Smith was a client of hers for years before she packed up shop and moved her operation to Manhattan earlier this year. She remembers the first time she ever spoke with Smith. “I had to reassure him over and over that I could guarantee discretion,” she said. “Once I convinced him I could, he placed his order. It was for a man. I had 14 women working for me and two guys. You’d be surprised at how many Hollywood stars requested the services of the guys.”
If that's true, then those boys must make serious bank. With such a demand for young lovelies, why didn't the madame get some new stock. That's what we would do - you know, if we were pimps and all.
As for this madame's promise for discretion - apparently not.

A few bumps in the road don't slow the 'Rachel' star
YOU'VE GOT TO BE floating in some good karma if the year that your boyfriend gets sent to prison, the FBI repossesses your jewelry and you move back in with your parents, turns out to be the best year of your life. But that seems to be the case for Anne Hathaway, whose professional life highs seem to have more than balanced out her recent personal life lows.
With leads in three $100 million grossers ("The Princess Diaries," "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Get Smart") a supporting role in a prestige Oscar film ("Brokeback Mountain"), a stellar comedic turn hosting "Saturday Night Live," an upcoming role as the White Queen in Tim Burton's retelling of "Alice in Wonderland" and now her own Oscar buzz for "Rachel Getting Married," opening in Philadelphia Friday, the 25-year-old actress from New Jersey (her parents went to La Salle) is on a roll.
I met with "Annie," as she said to call herself, last month at the Toronto International Film Festival, where "Rachel" was one of the breakout successes, so Hathaway was in a jubilant, happy-to-talk mood - ironic, since the interview almost didn't happen.
Hathaway and director Jonathan Demme were scheduled to be interviewed together, but when Demme canceled Hathaway was nixed also, until cooler publicist heads prevailed. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were canceled," Hathaway said when we met at the Empire Restaurant. "I don't like to think about that." As for Demme, she acknowledged with a laugh, "That's so awkward, because he's just sitting over there on the opposite side of the room."
One other thing about Annie: When I interviewed her for "Brokeback Mountain," she seemed to be putting on actress airs. Now she comes across like a happy young woman, completely comfortable in her own luminous skin.
Q: When we met for "Brokeback Mountain" you had a bad cold . . .
A: Oh my God, I was so sick, you just reminded me. And I felt so bad because Michelle [Williams] was there, and I kept trying to stand on the other side of the room because she was pregnant with Matilda. That's the last thing you want is a cold in your seventh or eighth month of pregnancy.
Q: A lot has changed since then . . .
A: I've been working. Let's see I was 22 then and now I'm 25, and life's progressed as it should from 22 to 25 - realizations about your place in the world, how tiny you are, true introductions to gratitude and acceptance of self. I guess that's what happened. Just little things.
Q: You've accepted yourself?
A: I think that's what's happening, yeah. Who knows, it could all go belly-up tomorrow, but it's been going very well for some time now.
Q: People seem to have accepted you.
A: If that's what's going on then please, accept me further.
Q: "Rachel Getting Married" was shot in a very natural way, with cameras all over the place and limited blocking of scenes. Was that very different for you as an actress?
A: It was totally different, and for me, it's actually preferable. It was so exciting to have the responsibility of modulating your performance over the course of 12 hours - to be able to go and release it and do a 12-minute take as opposed to a 12-minute scene over three days. To actually be able to be there and be present was so liberating and exciting, and because we never knew where the camera was going to be, it was never about my performance versus your performance. It was always about the scene. And that's the way it always should be but very rarely is. . . . We didn't know what the shot was. Jonathan rarely even knew what the shot was. But he knew what the story was, so when he said, "We got it," we all knew we were ready to move on.
Q: Was there a lot of improvising on set, or did you stick to Jenny Lumet's script?
A: It's 95 percent of the script and then little lines thrown here and there. It's almost verbatim, except for one scene in which I tell the musicians to be quiet.
Q: The movie's very multicultural, and you were at the Democratic convention, which was also very multicultural. Was that one of the things that appealed to you?
A: I didn't have anything to do with the casting of the movie, and Jonathan really does do colorblind casting - he just says, bring me good actors and interesting people. But it wasn't anything that I really noticed, because that's what my world looks like. It didn't occur to me that this was such a diverse cast. I thought, "Thank God, this is what America looks like, and I'm so happy to see that in a movie." And the Democratic National Convention just proved, "Wow, this is what America looks like." So it was really cool to be there and think, "This looks like my movie" and then be in Venice [for the film festival] and think, "This movie looks like the Democratic National Convention."
Q: Did you do any research for your character? Did you spend some time in rehab?
A: I didn't spend any time in rehab. I've been to visit people in rehab, so I drew on that. I have a number of friends in recovery, and I went to some meetings, read books, read a lot of literature. There's a great message board for the N.A. [Narcotics Anonymous] community that I looked at a lot. I talked to the family members of people in recovery, I thought that was really important. But no, I did not do heroin.
Q: Good move.
A: One of the reasons I think people respond to the movie is it's not just darkness for darkness' sake. It's not trying to be edgy. The pain in the movie is pain with a purpose.
Q: What can you say about your next film, "Bride Wars," opposite Kate Hudson?
A: Take "Rachel Getting Married" and turn it around 180 degrees. That's "Bride Wars." It's a fun romp, not to be taken too seriously. I really liked my character in it, Emma. She's a girl getting married who basically goes through an identity crisis, and it was really fun to explore her trying to maintain her integrity while becoming a total bridezilla.
Q: People said about Brad Pitt's quirky performance in "Burn After Reading" that he's really a character actor in a leading man's body. Is that something you aspire to?
A: Absolutely. Someone said that to me once and it was a huge compliment, although the person was trying to sign me to their agency, so I don't know if I should believe them. But that's definitely the goal. *

ReplyDeleteOne Window-fogged Blind Vice
This one's getting interesting.
Remember Toothy Tile from One Adorable Blind Vice? The sweet movie-star guy who was surreptitiously holding digits with his boyfriend at a West Hollywood restaurant? Well, he's at it again. Only, this time, more than digits are being utilized. At least the ones... never mind.
So, there T2 is with the stud-unit again. In the concrete parking structure of a very popular Hell-Ay shopping enclave. It was dark. Not too many shoppers were around.
Could this be why handsome Tooth (whose legs, I feel, have been vastly undersold, thanks to his mega-charming smile) saw fit to smooch his companion in their car, reclining their seats as far back as Faye Dunaway's forehead. And this kissing scene didn't simply occur in first, my dears. No, Tile brought the all-man, all-body Frenching session right on home, full throttle, all the way to fifth, I'd say.
Damn, that boy's a gusty speed racer.
And it ain't: Mark Wahlberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck
New Leo DL gossip:
ReplyDelete"Okay, I know none of you have reason to believe me and I don't have a link for you because this is all word of mouth but I SWEAR this is true.
I work in the fashion industry and I have a colleague who works for Victoria Secret and he worked with Gisele Bundchen numerous times. Well today he dropped the bombshell on me that she's a lesbian! Not only is she a lesbian but she was bearding for Leo DiCaprio AND her current "boyfriend" Tom Brady who are both GAY.
The result of the Gisele/Leo union was masterminded by her agents at IMG Models and Ken Sunshine, Leo's infamous publicist. For several years they "dated" and generated good press for both while keeping each other closeted. Win/win situation for both.
Now keep in mind that IMG is the same agency that ran the career of another young, ambitious model Bar Rafaeli. When the Gisele tired of pretending to be with Leo and wanted out IMG saw the perfect opportunity to push Bar upon Leo and continue the strategy. Good press = money success. It worked. No one knew who the hell Bar Rafaeli was before she started bearding for Leo.
I wish I had more juicy information about Tom Brady who I'm really interested in but my friend only knew about the Gisele/Leo coupling."
---
Ten or so years ago, there was a blind item in the Bay Area Reporter which is the San Francisco Gay Rag. The item was very thinly written and I remember one funny part: The guy in question has a mushroom cap that isn't interested in kitties. But his management and family have pressured him to stay in the closet for the sake of his film career. It implied that he really wanted to be honest and open.
---
Read on DL years ago that when Leo was younger and even hotter than now, not that he's chopped liver, he insisted on taking his boyfriend on to the red carpet for a big premiere. All his people had to move heaven and earth to dissuade him, which they finally managed.
It seemed that the routine dynamic had been flipped: gay star at ease and coping, his industry entourage busy with containment strategy. If Leo thought he had nothing to lose, he had more power.

ReplyDeletePRINCESS CARRIE SETTLES SCORES
CARRIE Fisher, who had a disastrous marriage to CAA superagent Bryan Lourd, ridicules the idea that she changed Lourd's sexual orientation.
In her hilarious memoir, "Wishful Drinking," due in December from Simon & Schuster, Fisher says of Lourd, the father of her daughter Billie: "He told me later that I had turned him gay . . . by taking codeine again. And I said, 'You know, I never read that warning on the label.' I thought it said 'heavy machinery,' not homosexuality - turns out I could have been driving those tractors all along!' "
The Post's Kyle Smith reports that Fisher comes clean in the book - based on her stage show that's been making its way around the country - about her addictions, her commitment to a mental hospital, her manic depression, and her suicidal thoughts, avoiding self-pity in favor of raucous poison penmanship.
Of her dad, Eddie Fisher, who left her mom, Debbie Reynolds, for Elizabeth Taylor after Taylor's husband, Mike Todd, died in a plane crash: "Naturally, my father flew to Elizabeth's side, gradually making his way to her front. He first dried her eyes with his handkerchief, consoled her with flowers, and ultimately consoled her with his penis." Reynolds' subsequent husbands were such disasters that she once said, "Eddie's starting to look like the good husband."
Of "Star Wars," in which Fisher starred, at age 19, as Princess Leia: She was looking at her white costume when director George Lucas said, "You can't wear a bra under that dress." "Why?" asked Fisher. "There's no underwear in space," he replied.
Of her first husband, Paul Simon, who wrote "Graceland" and many other songs about her, she notes that one time, as he drove her to the airport, "I turned to him and said, 'You'll feel bad if I crash.' He shrugged and said, 'Maybe not.' "
He told me later that I had turned him gay

ReplyDeleteDaniel "James Bond" Craig Speaks Out For Obama
"Quantum of Solace" comes out next month, and Daniel Craig is out promoting that and Barack Obama. He can't vote in America, but the British Craig has strong feelings anyway.
"I strongly feel there needs to be a new way forward," Craig tells Playboy magazine in an interview on newsstands today. "Barack Obama is pushing things in the right direction. I'm excited about the election. Unfortunately, things will probably get dirty. I hope Obama can stay above the fray ... I'm hopeful for the first time in a long, long while. It's one of the most exciting elections in my lifetime."
"Solace" is Craig's second turn as Bond and he's rumored to be committed to another two films. True? Craig confirms, but seems cagey.
"I did sign on for four," he says in the interview, "so a piece of paper says there are two more to do. But let's see how this one goes. In the film business, everything doesn't always go according to plan. We'll wait and see. If it goes wrong, we'll have to rethink things."

Why Would The World's Biggest Movie Star Arrange Gay Dates Through a Madame?
ReplyDeleteA rumor circulated on Friday that most-popular-actor-in-the-world Will Smith once employed the services of a discrete Hollywood madame. A madame who supplied him with men. The Will Smith gay rumors have been tossed around for years, his entree into professional closet-locker religion Scientology the latest to fuel the whispers. But this particular tidbit? We're not so sure about it. Why would Smith bother to create a paper trail like this?
I mean, as the whole Heidi Fleiss fiasco proved, Hollywood stars are willing to drop major coin at a high-class brothel. But those were just chucklehead straight dudes like Charlie Sheen. No one was really shocked. In this instance, though, we're talking about Will Smith. Lady-wooing, ass-kicking, humanity-saving Will Smith. It would be much easier for him to discreetly pick up a fella at a club or, heck, even find someone online than it would be to involve the whole middleman of a bordello. I was watching that horrid documentary Hookers at the Point yesterday (nothing else was on) and, you know, the girls were talking about how guys go to hookers because there is that illicit thrill, that fear of being caught. But that's with street walkers blowing you in your parked Crown Vic, not sensual liasions with "high class" call-boys. The latter just seems a little too out there in the open than would be comfortable for Will f'ing Smith who, sadly, could stand to lose a lot if his sexuality is in question.
So yeah, we don't quite believe this lascivious hissing. This anonymous madame lady may, you know, just be trying to drum up some business. By, um, supposedly outing one of her clients? Ur doin it rong!1!

ReplyDeleteZac Efron In Pirates Of The Caribbean 4?
Still no official studio confirmation on the status of Pirates of the Caribbean 4, but the gossip keeps coming. The latest name rumored to be in the cast is High School Musical 3 star Zac Efron. Maybe Pirates 4 will be a musical? Yo ho ho, and tap dance on a bottle of rum?
Word of Efron’s involvement comes from the National Enquirer, where next week they’ll probably follow up this story with an expose into the secret life of the Chupacabra. But according to the National Enquirer, Efron is signed up to board the Black Pearl, and he’ll earn a cool $10 million in cash to do it.
Interestingly, their story also claims that Efron was actually approached to replace Johnny Depp at one point, when Depp briefly balked at returning to Captain Jack. Disney wised up and plied Johnny with enough cash to get him on board, but Efron remained on their radar, and now they’ve found some sort of supporting role for him. That role is, they say, meant to groom Efron to replace Depp further on down the road. Replacing Johnny is a doomed idea but Zac’s a pretty boy, so maybe he’ll be the new Orlando Bloom. Got a blonde wig in your closet Efron?
It’s Efron’s existing relationship with Disney via High School Musical that makes this otherwise odd rumor somewhat plausible. At least as plausible as some of the others, one of which we’re to blame for. In fact as part of the deal outlined by the Enquirer, Efron is also being chained to the High School Musical franchise for even longer, with his Pirates contract also serving as a means to force his return as Troy Bolton for High School Musical 4.

ReplyDeleteDoes Will Smith Pay For Dick?
There's been a million rumors that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett are both raging homos who are using their fake marriage to cover that shit up. The latest gay rumor about the Fresh Prince of Bel Air comes from some Hollywood Madam who claims she has sold him dick in the past. The madame tells Ian Halperin that before she moved her whore game from Hollywood to NYC this year, Will Smith was one of her clients.
She said, “I had to reassure him over and over that I could guarantee discretion. Once I convinced him I could, he placed his order. It was for a man. I had 14 women working for me and two guys. You’d be surprised at how many Hollywood stars requested the services of the guys.”
Does this madam bitch know the meaning of the word "discretion"? Will should let John Travolta know to never buy peen from that shady bitch again.
If Will wanted some easy ass without strings, why wouldn't he just hang out in Tommy Girl's alien sex dungeon? Tommy probably has available dick on staff 24-hours a day.
And the madam failed to mention two very important things: how big is the peen and does he take it in the doody?

Biden: "If I Lived In California, I'd Clearly Vote Against Proposition 8."
ReplyDeleteDemocratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show today to stump for his electoral ticket. And, as you know, Biden took some time to tell the world he would vote "no" on Proposition 8, which would overturn gay marriage in California. He also mentions that he and running mate Barack Obama voted against a federal marriage amendment defining marriage as being between a man and a woman. What a guy, that Joe!
DeGeneres supports his decision, of course - not only because the Proposition is entirely illiberal, but because she would then have to return all her wedding gifts. And nobody wants that!
We've included the video above. Enjoy!

Does Will Smith Pay For Dick?
ReplyDeleteDlisted comments:
Um, no - the bitch is not lying. This "marriage" is well known in Hollywood as being one of convenience. They do raise their children together, but that's about it. Pinkett-Smith has not been terribly discreet on movie sets, and as for Smith - well, he's very very discreet, but the Scientology association speaks volumes about his actual preferences (as it does for Cruise and Travolta). I wish Hollywood was a place where everyone could be his/herself, but unfortunately that's not the case. Homophobia is still the last "acceptable" prejudice amongst stupid Americans, and every closeted star in the business knows this.
---
Amen. I believe that self-loathing homosexuals, especially male 'mos, fuel some of the most brutal "relgious" groups -- the Scienos, the Christian Fundamentalists (tap-dancing in toilet halls and meth-twink-hooker-boys anyone?), and I gather from Muslim friends that the most fiery fundie extremists they know usually have some fucked up issues with women (misogynists) or make their gaydars ping like mad.
And THAT is why fundamentalists of all stripes are so afraid that that gays will gain acceptance, the right to lead their lives in peace (NO on Prop 8, California!). Because homophobia is the last source of fear and loathing for them, second only to the fear and loathing of women who control when and if they procreate. Fear and its bastard child Hate fuel their growth, fill their coffers, and give them power over their sheep. /stepping off soapbox.
---
As for the Will and the Jada I think the likelihood is that they're both gay. Having grown up doing loads of theatre, both professional and amateur, been to drama school, studied drama at uni etc etc, I can assure you that maybe 70% of men AND women in the acting field are gay. Its just something that a lot of gay men and women seem to be drawn too for the obvious reason that they can probably be more expressive of themselves than in the normal, heterosexually-dominated world. Tjere are a lot of gay men and women in the tv industry too, both in front of the camera and in production, including me! Us gays love a bit of the media! And as to the reason why so many people still pretend to be straight I would say that we all have to be a bit more honest and admit that we like to watch these people not just because they're good actors, but because we'd like to fuck them. For me filming someone is a very sexual act, its voyeurism, the experience of enjoying looking at people. Hence films are not just about telling stories, they're about us looking at people we are attracted to. Hence the whole idea of the sexual allure and charisma of the "movie star" as opposed to just an actor. Actors aren't just performers, they're sex objects, and the image is rather spoilt if we all know they're gay. I think gay actors/singers/whatevers will more than likely pretend to be straight for a long time to come.
We can still feel that way even if we know they are gay, I think. I wonder if it creeps actors out to know that they are thought of as fantasy objects sometimes.
ReplyDeleteJake's comment: it makes me hot to get people hot. Also said he was glad to be of consolation to those who needed consolation.
ReplyDeleteMan, I loved being consoled by Jake.
However, the very thot of him giggling over a black spoon-shaped sex toy combined with the thought of Reese - I fear my Jake fantasies have jumped the shark.
^^That has to be made up. Neither of them are ingenues, I'm sure. ;)
ReplyDeleteThey should let him be as down-and-dirty sexy as he looks sometimes - nevermind all of this soccer Dad stuff. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think they're be newbies when it comes to hetero-sex - Jake being inexperienced with women, and Reese not liking cock to begin with. :D
ReplyDeleteOh baby, I'm sure many women would love to help him with experience - and a gay or bisexual (and straight too) man is very hot. They're all hot. He's so beautiful, he's just made for lovin'. ;)
ReplyDeleteEvery time someone writes a comment like that last one from Dlisted, people should substitute the word "black" for the word gay, and then ask themselves if it is still okay to think that way. It's not acceptable to cater to racists, and it's not acceptable to cater to homophobes.
ReplyDeleteMy straight female friends seem to have no trouble fantasizing over gay male stars, and it seems to me most gay men and lesbian have no problem fantasizing over straight actors.
I agree. It's a visual thing, and an actor's looks and sex appeal, and not their private life that an audience responds to. It's unique for each person, but I think Jake's looks and sex appeal are amazing, regardless of his sexual orientation. I'll only ever see his on-screen personas, and that's just fine by me.

ReplyDeleteOooh, oooh yes I do remember an interview that one mag published, which was later paraphrased by another mag in a way that completely misrepresented the story.
ReplyDeleteIn the original, Jake was asked about his love life. He said it was hard to spend time together sometimes, because he had to take odd times to go to see his friend who was a chef late nights at his restaurant.
The 2nd rag then changed this to say that when Jake was asked about his love life, he referred to his friend who was a chef and had a hard time finding time to see his girlfriend.

ReplyDeleteLIZ'S HANGOUT
ELIZABETH Taylor, 76, doesn't get out much these days. But when she does leave home, she goes to the Abbey, West Hollywood's top gay bar. The wheelchair-bound screen legend, who favors tequila shots and apple martinis, has presented the bar with a large, gold-framed portrait of herself painted in her heyday, reports Santa Barbara News-Press gossip Richard Mineards. The artwork hangs near the deejay booth, along with a brass plaque underneath. "It has become quite a shrine," says one habitue. "Everyone here loves her. She speaks to everybody."
If women not wanting their favorite actors to be gay is about masculinity, then how do you explain all those fans of men like Zak, Chace, Orlando, Aiken, etc.? Personally I think part of it is a homophobic "ick" factor--they're bothered by what boys do with boys. And I think that a lot of people focus on the sex when it comes to someone gay, which they don't do with straight people. In other words, with a straight actor they don't think about him having sex with whoever he is with at the moment, so it doesn't interfere with the fantasy.
ReplyDeleteZak, Chace, Orlando, Aiken...
ReplyDeleteHard question because different persons have different opinions about masculinity.
I think gay men are generally seen as less masculine than straight men. If straight men show signs of intimacy they may be perceived as gay, and therefore, less masculine. I think it's a gender role and homophobia issue.
ReplyDeleteSome women feel betrayed - how could he prefer men, what's wrong with women?
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has a little bit of the other sex in them, to varying degrees, and it's very sexy. So a masculine man, who shows some of his femme side, is very attractive to me. But everyone has their own idea of what they find appealing, so it's not a betrayal. Its beautiful!
ReplyDeleteToxic
ReplyDeleteDespite [Sarah Palin's] nice turn on Saturday Night Live, she has turned toxic for the McCain camp. Palin's cheery good looks–and her gun-toting, Bible-thumping small-town conservatism–electrified the Republican convention and temporarily transfixed the "mainstream" media… Intentionally or not, Palin's stark and strident approach may be hurting McCain with the hard-right by vividly reminding them of what they expect a real conservative to sound like. This week she broke with her ticketmate to say that she favors a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. In moments like these, her ideological certainty makes him look soft." [Newsweek]
If straight men only knew, women love a man who shows signs of intimacy. It's a huge turn on.

ReplyDeleteChace Crawford is VMan Sexy
Just a few short years after ditching journalism to become an actor, Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford is an object of fan adulation and tabloid speculation. Here’s his cover look for VMan and snippets from his interview:
On noticing Gossip Girl’s crossover into the adult world: “I’ll be out on the golf course, and some guy will come up to me, sort of sheepishly, and be like, ‘Hey, my wife really loves the show. Can I get a picture with you?’ They’re always super embarrassed. And I’m like, ‘C’mon man, you love the show.’ Women get their husbands or boyfriends sucked into it. I like to see that.”
On realizing he’s been cast for his good looks: “There are a lot of adverse effects of being a certain type, which I am. Look, I wouldn’t be in the business if I didn’t feel I had what it takes to have longevity. Everyone has a certain castability, or quality they’re always going to have to fight. I think the best remedy is to reinvent yourself. I’m not going to take the same type of role in the future.”
On having a a career strategy mapped out: “I want to do the edgy independent movies, like DiCaprio did, but you have to balance it out. It’s about carving out your leading-man role. Fight Club? Yes! X-Men? Yes! All sorts of different films. American Beauty? Yes! I don’t know if I could pull off a Kevin Spacey, but I’ll try!”

Milk Brings Back 'a fractured moment in a troubled time and place.'
ReplyDeleteThe NYT reports on Gus van Sant's forthcoming Harvey Milk biopic. They talked with producer James Schamus about recreating the atmosphere in San Francisco at the time of Milk's rise:
"'You’re giving me an acid flashback to all the chatter before Brokeback, said James Schamus, chief executive of Focus, responding to a question about the universal message in Mr. Milk’s struggles. Those could turn on matters as weighty as gay rights, or as slight as an ordinance requiring dog owners to clean up after their pets. 'Harvey said, 'This is a quest for everybody’s rights,'' Mr. Schamus said. 'That was his genius.' If the ranch hands of 'Brokeback' were subdued, nothing about Mr. Milk was. He loudly insisted that gay people should be out of the closet, at a time when public homosexuality was largely confined to San Francisco and a few like-minded enclaves."

>> Behind Brokeback Mountain
An Interview with Producer James Schamus
I had the opportunity yesterday to speak with Brokeback Mountain producer James Schamus, who is also co-president of Focus Features with David Linde. Schamus spoke candidly with me about Brokeback's success, its marketing strategy, and some of the controversy that has arisen since its release.
I obviously don't need to speak to this audience about its success (if you've been on Towleroad and you haven't noticed the Brokeback coverage, you haven't been on Towleroad), so let's get straight to the Q&A.
I’ve heard there is going to be a Brokeback Oprah show? When is it airing and which cast members are participating?
Heath and Jake and the entire gang. We don't know the air date yet but it should be sometime in the next ten days. They're juggling the schedule.
Were there any surprises on that show?
I have to say that the mere fact that we were on that show was a surprise to us. I'm still a bit stunned. I don't think there were any revelations, but there was an absolute embrace on the part of Oprah and the audience of the movie of the boys which was just amazing. When you see them come out on stage and you see the audience respond to them together, you'll just be blown away.
Is this the first time that Jake and Heath have done publicity together? I can imagine folks would be very interested to see their chemistry.
They were together in Toronto and have done [magazine] covers together. I agree it's great to see their dynamic as people as well as actors. It's so warm. I've distributed and made a lot of movies and oftentimes [at] the awards and the press junkets the dynamic can be less than pleasant. [This cast's dynamic] really has a kind of family feeling to it. Oprah is really such a gigantic cultural moment for this movie, so it was great to have those guys do it together.
It was hard scheduling because Jake is in the middle of shooting another movie. Jake has literally been working seven days a week on the Fincher film (Zodiac). We got him out of a day of shooting to make sure they were together.
A lot of people have been wondering why Jake didn't show up for the Golden Globes.
Well, he wasn't nominated and the Globes made a decision on their own not to include him in the Supporting Actor category which we felt was a real disservice to Jake. Of course, he's been nominated in that category by the SAG awards, the BAFTA awards, and — knocking on wood here for you know what. So, it's been great. But he came to our pre-Globes party. He's been a good sport.
There have been accusations that the publicity strategy for Brokeback has made a conscious effort to "de-gay" and play up the heterosexual aspects of the movie, particularly the "For Your Consideration" ads in industry trade magazines.
I think it's a measure of the film's success that there is this real sense of ownership (and examination) of everything we do. I think these kinds of discussions are legitimate. On the other hand, I gotta say, from day one, when we first started to make the movie we said we will never apologize for this movie. It's what it is. At its core it's a gay romance. From the moment the trailer's finished, you know what this movie's about. From the very first images of it. We never ever, ever wanted to step away from it or apologize for what this movie was. And I think we've stayed really true to that, every step of the way with this campaign.
At the same time, this movie is epic in its emotional scope, and part of that is that the relationships encompass the entirety of these guys' lives. And their experiences include the characters that are played by Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway, who, by the way, deserve their Oscar nominations.
I don't ever want to misrepresent the film as only being about the so-called controversy surrounding its central relationship. I want to represent the story's entirety. Ang always pays extra careful attention to every piece of the emotional dynamic, which includes these marriages and includes these children and includes their whole lives. Not to mention some things that really aren't discussed, which are in many ways revolutionary, which are class issues. You don't see working class characters portrayed in mainstream American cinema that often. So all these dynamics add into what is still absolutely the central dynamic — their relationship.
[There were] a few paragraphs of post-Globes coverage in the New York Times. [The writer] Sharon Waxman created this impression that because of some "resistance" we're meeting with the "broader public" we've started putting ads in the papers that emphasize the heterosexual relationships. Which is complete and utter bullshit. It's unbelievable.
In fact, up till now, we've had two months, almost two months of advertising in main markets like New York and Los Angeles, and so when we started to refresh the campaign in just New York and L.A. and include a broader scope of imagery, just a couple of times, Waxman called that out as if we're going into Kansas and Wyoming and trying to fool people [as to] what the movie's about. In fact, from day one, we have said we are going to market this movie the same way in Little Rock as we do in New York City.
How has the market strategy been focused to gain a broader audience?
Because we're selling it to gay men the same way we're selling it to everybody else. Just like The Bridges of Madison County was sold to straight women the same way it was sold to gay men. Our whole point is to always treat this movie and its characters the same way you would treat any great romance. That's always been our rule.
[As the campaign broadens] you're going to start to see other characters and other parts of the film percolate up into the consciousness but clearly, the inference made in the Times was such utter, pathetic drivel — that we're trying to somehow pull the wool over someone's eyes about the movie...(laughs).
There may well be a reindeer herder in Lapland who does not know that this is a gay cowboy movie. And he might stumble on one of our Academy "For Your Consideration" ads for Michelle Williams and say, "Wow! Maybe I'll go see that." Maybe.
I googled "gay cowboy movie" the other day and there were something like 190,000 hits. I really don't think we have to worry about somebody not knowing what the movie's about.
Has the rural response, the Red State response in particular, surprised you? What did you expect going into those states and how were you prepared to react from a marketing standpoint if the reaction was overwhelmingly negative?
We wouldn't have reacted if it was negative because I said from the very beginning that if somebody has a problem with the subject matter of the movie, I'm not here to help them get over their problem. It's really not my job. So we honestly just didn't care. We made the movie because we believed in it. We believed that it was a story that would appeal to everybody if we could just get it in front of them. And that's been the song we have sung from day one and we have not changed our tune.
Did you expect more controversy?
There are two answers to that question. One is, when we decided to think about releasing the movie, we decided not to worry one way or the other. On the one hand I didn't expect anything because I just wasn't going to ever get in the sandbox and throw sand with these people. And secondly, the honest answer is, yeah, I actually expected more push back. I did. But the strategy was always to get the film out ahead of all that, so that people could respond to the movie and not a predetermined political architecture.
This week, President Bush said that he hadn’t seen Brokeback. Do you plan to offer him a screening?
(Laughs) Actually, the studio has been asked and the studio has answered. We were asked for a print of the movie which we supplied to the White House. So maybe somebody there has seen the movie. I'm hopeful that somebody who knows what it's like to be gay in Wyoming might have seen it at least. (laughs) You supply the print but no one's going to tell you who saw it or anything. We're happy to send a free screener but I have to say, just like everybody else, we're gonna watermark it so it doesn't get pirated.
Have you spoken with Larry Miller regarding his decision to drop Brokeback from his Utah megaplex?
No. In our book he's just a bona fide creep. If for no other reason than we had a legal and binding agreement to screen the movie and he reneged on it. He has refused to speak with anybody publicly — certainly none of us — about his decision. But I find it hilarious that if you went to his movie theater to go see Brokeback Mountain you would have found a ticket available for the movie that he did screen which was Hostel. If that is some kind of moral response to our movie you can keep your morals! By the way, Hostel is a very entertaining film. Nothing wrong about that.
Do you plan to sue him for breaking his contract?
No. We're not litigious people. We're not out to fan any more flames of controversy. Blah blah blah. It's people acting badly and pretending they're doing it because they're acting well. It's bizarre, the hypocrisy.
Do you feel that Larry Miller helped rather than hurt Brokeback?
No. Before he did what he did, we had already opened in Salt Lake on one screen and we did $40,000 on that screen. On one screen in Salt Lake. The bottom line is I am so thrilled that we're not sharing any of the profits of this movie in Salt Lake City with that guy.
Have you experienced any similar reactions from other exhibitors?
Exactly the opposite. We are really almost at war with the exhibitors who are really hammering us for more prints. And it's us, not them, who have made a determination to really, in as controlled a fashion as possible, roll the movie out.
How do you respond to conservative critics who accuse you of destroying the image of the American cowboy?
(Laughs). I teach at Columbia University and one of the classes I teach is on the Western. And I love Westerns. But look. I take my daughter sometimes to Yankees games and during the seventh inning stretch they often play the Village People's "YMCA" and 50,000 Yankees fans stand up and move their arms to the shape of the letters. And then we all sing the national anthem. I feel like there have been a lot of precursors that have done their share to nuance the image of the cowboy long before we produced Brokeback Mountain.
Are there any poignant viewer reactions to the film that have particularly touched you?
When the trailer hit back in August we started getting flooded with letters from people unburdening themselves. Just to the trailer, just to the images. And so we started to share the stories as part of the site. And literally we received thousands of stories. And it's become kind of an emotional communal pornography. We're addicted to these. I've never had a movie where that kind of response has happened, personal and immediate. People really feel a personal connection. And it's gay, straight, and everything in between.
Why do you think Brokeback has inspired so many parodies, from the television skits to the movie poster?
It's funny. I wish I were qualified to answer that question. Sometimes you just gotta step back and say Holy... how did this happen? I've noticed that a great deal of the humor has not felt homophobic or exclusionary. A lot of the humor has actually been really funny. And that's been part of my surprise — actually being able to laugh along with it. And then there is another strain of it which is just virulent and grotesque and homophobic. It really needs to be called out. It's been interesting because there's been a huge spectrum of humor in response to this movie, [which is as much] a sign of real cultural maturity as [it is a sign of] immaturity.
What was the biggest hurdle getting this film into production?
I tried with Diana (Ossana) and Larry (McMurtry) for a couple years as an independent producer to make it, and it just wasn't in the cards, and I can't say that it wasn't the right time or that there was a homophobic conspiracy. You just never know. When I was an independent producer I made 45 movies which means I didn't make another 400 that I tried to. And Brokeback was among those 400. But once we got Focus and David Linde and I were the ones greenlighting movies it was just like, wow, I get to put our money where our mouths used to be. So there was that little moment — that frisson — basically saying — weird, we just did that.
What were the biggest hurdles you had to overcome during production?
Ang and I have worked on nine movies together and this was the nicest one on which we've ever worked. Very straightforward. I set a very tight budgetary reign on the process. Not unduly tight, but he was coming off of Hulk, and after a filmmaker goes through a big movie like that they like to forget what it's like not to have everything you want all the time. And Ang made every single day, he made it on budget, on schedule, and loved every minute of it. With such a genuine tenderness. I'm sorry to sound like a Pollyanna but we really didn't have any [hurdles].
Historically, actors have been hesitant to play gay roles. Was there any concern on the parts of Heath and Jake that it would hurt their careers?
If there was, they and their representation never shared it with us. This was literally the easiest film I've ever had to cast. We had a harder time back in the day with Wedding Banquet. We couldn't even get people to come in and read who were more established actors at the time. Ang's reputation made a big difference, but clearly, times have changed decisively at this point. Obviously you don't want to pat yourself on the back too much. We're still far behind where the world ought to be. It's easy for us to be very self congratulatory about the whole thing but this is still a small step. At least I feel Brokeback is a step forward, but there's a long way to go.
In what way do you think that the response to the film has opened the eyes of the actors, or filmmakers, to homophobia in America in a way that they didn’t realize before the film was released?
I think it's part of the ongoing process of the reception of the film. I think everybody's aware of Mathew Shepard. On the one hand, Brokeback Mountain really represents entering into the mainstream in a way we should all be proud of. On the other hand, wouldn't it be great if at the Oscars, Julia Roberts' male co-star showed up holding the hand of his boyfriend and the only thing people thought about is what they were wearing? That's where we've got to go. If you put it in that context, you really see how far we've got to go to live in the world we want to be living in. And I often think that one way to get there is to live as if you already are living in that world.
What was the reaction to Dennis Quaid's 'dick flick' joke at the Golden Globes?
There was no real reaction. It laid very flat in the room as it probably should have. People just moved on. Obviously when you're in that situation and somebody's yelling out the name of your movie it's easy to forget the minute that happened just before.
Were there discussions during filming about how much sex to show, or was that a decision that was left completely up to Ang Lee?
There certainly were, and at the very beginning what Ang and I agreed on was very simple. That it was always going to be however much sex was needed to tell this story the way it deserved to be told. And we would never pull back in terms of the representation of it to apply some kind of double standard. If this were a straight romance, what would you see in this genre in this context? That was always a touchpoint. We said let's not treat this sex any differently.
And not just the sex by the way. I really think the fixation on the sex part is kind of silly. For me, what is just as moving about the representation is the tenderness, you know, when they're cuddling in bed naked, and it's not even the sex, it's their physical comfort with each other. It's a lot easier to simulate sex than to have actors be in love and physically comfortable together. I know that I'm off the cultural radar in this way — nobody focuses on that — but to me when they're in the motel together and Jake's got his arm around Heath and they're just hanging out, I think that's a much more radical image than any kind of sexual situation.
Were there any other taglines aside from"Love is a Force of Nature" that were considered?
There were, although I'm blanking on them. Once we saw that we really loved it. Obviously there's implicit politics in that as well as a kind of universal appeal.
Has Brokeback been your most satisfying experience professionally?
Yeah, absolutely. Crouching Tiger meant a lot, and Ice Storm too.
Do you see yourself as having a political responsibility?
We took some fairly gentle swipes for not making a political statement at the Globes. If the film were lousy or bombing at the box office no one would care what soapbox I stood on or what speech I gave. It's only a measure of its success. I want to treat the movie like any other movie. On the other hand I do think that we have to listen to the sense of ownership and passion with which people are following the film. And our presentation of it. I don't want to write those criticisms off at all because I feel there's something in that dialog that is important to listen and respond to.
As a straight man, why does gay cinema make up such a large portion of your background?
A big part of my life has been about negotiating and thinking about and bringing forward a lot of queer cinema of different kinds and in different contexts, and it's been a big and happy part of my life.
I come out of academia. I have a fairly strong political background. When I get up in the morning and try to make my mark or leave my impression in the world of the culture I really am always looking for voices and visions that mess with present realities. I really enjoy it, and it's important for me to be able to go home and look at my kids and say what I did today was something I'm proud of. And so that's a big part of why I'm doing what I'm doing. To be part of the American independent scene in the late 80's and early 90's meant that you were defined by, in many ways, your relationship to the early days of queer cinema, which was really the most challenging and the most defining part of that cultural moment.

Bitch-Back! Regarding Henry, Too Much Toothy
ReplyDeleteDear Ted:
What's this you said in the last Truth, Lies & Ted about my favorite actor of all time, Paul Newman? You were talking about what a shame it would be if sham couple Jake and Reese tried to make like a "modern-day Paul and Joanne." I'll still love him anyway, but tell me one of H'wood's greatest love stories ain't a sham! Love you and your bitchin' bitchiness.

Dear Newman's Own Fan:
No fakery we know of betwixt Paul and his longtime sweetie. Meant it would be heresy if J&R played house like those two, 'cause they ain't nothing like the real thing.
Dear Ted:
Are Reese and Jake the new TomKat? I think robot-boyfriend Jake is the new Katie.
—Gray
Dear GyllenKat:
I think they're both robots
Dear Ted:
New to the blog and love your candor. This Toothy Tile mystery game is frustrating, but I think I have an idea who he may be...is it Tom Welling?

Dear Welling Wonder:

My best friend from high school and I were always close, but never were intimate. I moved away when I started college, lost contact with him, but I think about him every single day. After watching this trailer, I've decided to find him this Christmas, tell him everything I wanted to tell him and see what happens. I may get a bloody nose, I may lose him all over again, but it's worth the risk. What happens if he tells me he once had the same feelings? There's nothing worse that not knowing and I thank this film for giving me the courage to finally do something.
Pink - "I'm Proud People Think I'm Gay"
ReplyDeletePink says she doesn't mind people thinking she is gay, in fact she even feels "proud" of it.
"I'm proud people think I'm gay," says the So What singer. "Everyone has always thought I was gay because of the tattoos, the short hair, the attitude. But I don't care. I love to challenge people's preconceptions."
Pink also spoke about how gay people don't have equal rights in the U.S., as she continues: "Loads of my friends are lesbians and it really annoys me that gay people aren't allowed to get married in most parts of America. I'd go on a march for gay rights any time."
Her fifth album 'Funhouse' hits stores next week and the single So What is out now.
First Look
ReplyDeleteAnother Look at Heath Ledger in ‘Doctor Parnassus’
While we aren’t sure where it originated from on the web, we do know that our good friend David sent over a brand new pic of Heath Ledger in his final film, Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. If you will recall, this is the film in which Ledger was replaced by a trio of actors, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law, after his tragic death in January. The film is currently in post-production with a release date sometime in 2009.

New Photo Of Heath Ledger in 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'
The Terry Gilliam Dreams fansite reports that a new photo of Heath Ledger from The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, has been released on the French movie news site, EcranLarge.
In one of the photos above, it appears that the famous magic mirror, which plays a big part in the film, and where Ledger's character travels through dimensions and changes into different characters, is prominently shown on the background.
Rumor has it that some footages has been seen already. Other news from the fansite board reports that the film is to be released, Fall of 2009, with a September 2009 Italian release. A 4-minute clip has been seen where the three actors (Depp, Law and Farrell) play behind a blue screen along with some photos of Ledger. The promo clip has Gilliam talking about how they decided to proceed with the film after Heath Ledger's death.

CRAIG NOT INTERESTED IN THOR
ReplyDeleteJAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG has turned down the chance to portray Marvel superhero THOR on the big screen.
The actor was one of the movie producers' favourites to play the blond-haired, hammer-wielding Norse warrior, in director Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation of the comic. But Craig snubbed the offer, claiming it would be "too much of a power-trip" to play both 007 and Thor. Thor is due for release in 2010.
I would make a great looking blonde!
ReplyDeleteMay 10, 2008
ReplyDeleteOver at Marvel, the name they are tossing around to pick up Thor's mighty hammer is Brad Pitt! A solid choice.
Keep in mind, NO OFFER HAS BEEN MADE TO PITT YET!
Mark Petrosevich wrote one hell of a draft which they are in the process of trimming down for budgetary reasons. Not for nothing, with the acting chops that Downey Jr brought over to Iron Man, it's understandable why Marvel wants to go after a reputable name like Pitt - they're gonna need someone who can act. I personally loved Pitt's bad ass characterization of Achilles in Troy, so I think Pitt could pull off Thor. Marvel is not going to be typical and go after the John Cenas, Chris Jerichos and Tyler Manes of the world. That would be corny.
