It's odd because he's always been about publicity (hanging with Lance Armstrong, the Reese thing, his vegetable gardening) - why was a few dates with Taylor Swift, the hottest young singer at the moment the same week his big romcom comes out, any different? Then suddenly, he has 3-5 kids. When did the multiple kids things start? At first it was just some speculation. But soon it was - you either agree that Jake and Austin are married with 6 kids, or you're a troll.

The concept of "group think" is strong in celeb fandom.

By saying digital dance he covered himself by not saying holding hands also he knew that his people would ignore him an e as usual.

The Digital Dance story (in the west village) was not blinded, it was about Jake and Austin and was one of the big things that essentially outed Jake as Toothy (Ted had others, but this was a big one.)
This was calculated. What else was going on at that time in Jake's life?
See, this story was likely published with his editor's and lawyer's approval. So, probably with Jake's approval as well. Otherwise, this would have to be blinded. Or E could be sued, forced to issue a retraction, etc.
E! and by extension Ted (at that time) follow the golden rule of gossip. You never, ever out an actor. A-list actors can and do recover from all kinds of indiscretions, from domestic violence to serious drug use, DUIs, cheating on spouses, etc. All of this can be forgiven by the public with time and spin (see Tiger Woods). But if a pub outs an actor, they cross the line and risk losing access. An A-list actor can't ever recover from being gay.
So why was that printed? Why did Jake want that out there?

I think someone posted a link here of the pics when it was figured out but it was a link to the purged spooky lj. Jake taped the Letterman show on a Tuesday and the post from ted I think was from Friday. The allegedl witness said that they followed him and ted alluded to the sullican theatre so we can assume he was referring to that day..
The pics of Austin and the rest of the cast from the Informers were dated on Monday and it looked like it was evening and theu were taking a dinner break. Even if he flew to ny the next day there was no mention of his hair which would have been the first thing I would notice not his jean s and how fit. And since the witness recognized him and didn't mention that he had a hat on made me think that it was odd. Also no one else saw them or posted about them.
2007was the year of the tmz trailer sighting and the Jonathan Jackson crap and I dont think the lawyers contacted them .Jackson even did a folliwup.. He dropped it later but at the time I doubt Jake's lawyers gave him the time of day so ted probably thought nobody cares outside of tt followers. Even th etmz bit never went anywhere
haven't seen the photo of Austin but don't know why the hair would have gotten a mention from Ted. As you can see in the exact wording of Ted's article right above here, Ted did not come out and say it WAS Austin. It was written in Ted speak. Maybe the tipper mentioned the hair and Ted didn't think it was necessary (he does edit, ya know - doesn't post tips verbatim). Austin totally could have flown LA - New York that morning and met up with Jake after Letterman. We all know Jake and Austin were fucking that year.

This is so true, and someone should tell this to OMG. Jake and Austin are not married and monogamous. Who in Hollywood is married and monogamous? Probably not one single couple, hetero or homo or otherwise.

The Jane Got a Gun story keeps getting more complicated.
The outline of the story, as we know it, is that the indie western produced by and starring Natalie Portman was set to begin shooting this past Monday, but that Ramsay didn’t turn up to direct on the day. Producer/financier Scott Steindorff spoke out via Deadline, saying he was “shocked” at the director’s behavior. He quickly hired Gavin O’Connor (of Warrior, which also starred Jane Got a Gun cast member Joel Edgerton) as a replacement director. Now Steindorff is looking for an actor to replace Jude Law, who had recently been hired for the film, but dropped out following Ramsay’s departure.
But the bigger story about the film is still in between the lines. Suggestions are emerging that Ramsay had actually quit the weekend prior to production start; if that is the case, then the big statements and assumptions made this week have to be re-evaluated. In the meantime, however, there is a new casting effort to report.
First, the news: Steindorff and O’Connor are looking at actors including Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, and Jeff Bridges to replace Jude Law in the role of the film’s antagonist, says the LA Times. The role is for an outlaw who nearly kills the husband of Portman’s character, then tracks him to their homestead.
(The lineage of this particular role is already weird: it had been originally filled by Joel Edgerton. But Michael Fassbender, originally set to be the film’s male lead, dropped out last week. He cited schedule conflicts, but knowing what we do now, that probably wasn’t the only reason he left. Edgerton moved over to Fassbender’s role, and Law was hired to play the bad guy. When Ramsay left, he walked, too. Confused yet?)
Gyllenhaal is in Atlanta shooting Prisoners right now, but might be done soon enough to move quickly onto the western. Maguire and Bridges are pretty different choices, and from here it is impossible to predict if any of these names might sign on. No matter which of the three gets the nod — if it is any of them — it will help define the film. Films do last-minute casting all the time, but that this is all so public is slightly unusual.
