Most likely he'll spend the holidays in L.A. with his children. I think it's a safe bet. ;) The kids will probably spend a part of the holidays with mom and the other with dad.
Natalie Portman on Sean Penn in 'Milk' Actors champion fellow colleagues in 2008 performances
"They only need to know one of us," Harvey Milk explains to his campaign team in the film "Milk." Sean Penn's performance as Harvey does exactly that: You learn one man's story, and his pains and triumphs become your own. It showed me how a great performance can also be a humanitarian act. When we know one character, one story, we recognize him as being of our own flesh and blood. When we understand his feelings, we put ourselves in his position. Not only is Sean's performance honestly and lovingly humane, but it is also virtuosic -- every note is so subtly tuned that the work behind it is never visible. He infuses Harvey's courage with cowardice and his sexual prowess with hesitation. Sean's Harvey is a cocky and charismatic orator, but always weighted by the foreboding dread of knowing his own tragedy. When the antigay Prop. 6 is unexpectedly voted down, surprise, elation and horror at the very existence of the referendum all rage in the blood beneath his skin. Sean Penn so inhabits Harvey Milk that I left the theater feeling the need to march against our frighteningly similar Prop. 8 to honor this man I now know.

They're Down Under for the holidays – and Ryan Phillippe and Aussie girlfriend Abbie Cornish are busy blending in and running errands. The happy couple was spotted grocery shopping at an IGA supermarket at Lennox Head in Byron Bay, Australia. The pair have been relaxing in the northern vacation town before heading to Hunter Valley, in New South Wales, where Cornish's family lives.
Back from filming in London, Jake Gyllenhaal celebrated his 28th birthday with Reese Witherspoon and family. The actress and her 5-year-old son, Deacon, treated Gyllenhaal to a special breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien in Brentwood. According to an eyewitness, "Reese and Jake looked super-cute together." The happy trio sat at the restaurant's wooden community table to eat their omelets and coffee. "Reese was just glowing," the onlooker tells us. Gyllenhaal was also very attentive to Deacon, and "it was very obvious that Jake had fun."
BBM was a great movie and Jake and Heath wonderful in it. You completely bought their love. That's why I understand so many fans wish for them to be friends. On so many web sites I read they were so close, they were best friends. But reality probably is that there was a connection, friendship durig the extended promotional season. And choosing Jake as Godfather was probably more symbolic than anything else, though I think Heath and Michelle liked Jake. There's no evidence that they remained close. Jake's and Reese's photo ops shortly after Jan.22 proved that even more.
It's interesting to notice how fans of Austin and Jake associate the hat he wore in the lastest pics with Austin's from the movie, and Jake and Heath fans the beanie with Heath. I'm not critisizing, I actually find it kind of cute.
I honestly would prefer if Jake was with Austin secretly and is just bearding with Reese. But I'm not sure at all. I do think they pimp out their relationship, but I also think they might be really dating. And that Ted, Jake and Reese are fooling us around and wastin our time. :(
There's a lot of semiotics going on here. The hand-holding thing. ALWAYS. They make it clear that they are being forced to do this. That is how they tell us they love us.
re: RDJ, yeah, of course the thing is that he *is* gay / bisexual. Talking about it as if it was a fake thing he did for fun when he was young is just one more example of the Hollywood Closet Rule.
"There is nothing "apparently" about Jake and Heath's friendship."
There is ONLY "appearance" in the lives of fans and our crushes. That's all we've got, bud, fuckin' all, so I hope you know that if you never know the rest.
The most worrying thing about the possibility of Reeke being real is what that makes Jake: an unpopular mummies's boy who makes his gf his best and only friend when he gets one. You know the type. I've met plenty.
Basically straight Jake = dweeb.
He should pay Ted for making him sound less boring. Really.
I can practically feel the collective orgasm over at US Weekly. They ran a story this morning about Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal celebrating Jake's birthday Friday night. All they could come up with was the pair ate some food and drank some wine and then they had this line.
"As for PDA? The couple held hands at the table!"
Holy F**k? Are you serious? Well that means they must be getting married. I mean no one holds hands at the dinner table unless they are getting married. I am giving you the link to the photo. It is from Flynet, and although they are wonderful people I don't really want to get into a lengthy discourse with them about Fair Use today, so I would just prefer, if you click, then look at the picture and come back.
OK, have you looked at it? Seriously. Go look. OK, I think you just have to love how they are both sitting next to each other so both can have their faces seen by cameras. Also, have you seen a couple sit next to each other and look more far apart? Ever? They also look thrilled with each other's company. Yes, it is one moment in time, but Reese looks absolutely bored out of her mind, while Jake seems enthralled with whatever has caught his eye. Reese is thinking about all the wrapping she has to do for Christmas still and Jake is checking out the ass on the busboy.
But they held hands!!! That has to be worth a few cover stories about engagement and weddings and baby plans and whatever else they can think of.
"OK, have you looked at it? Seriously. Go look. OK, I think you just have to love how they are both sitting next to each other so both can have their faces seen by cameras. Also, have you seen a couple sit next to each other and look more far apart? Ever? They also look thrilled with each other's company. Yes, it is one moment in time, but Reese looks absolutely bored out of her mind, while Jake seems enthralled with whatever has caught his eye."
Funniest.Shit.Ever! That video is the most telling evidence that Reeke is a giant farce. It's like everything is timed in it. "Okay, now it's time for us to look into the camera like we're pissed waaaay the hell off. Ready? You notice the paps first." SO.DAMN.FAKE.
IT'S hard being Brad Pitt. The star repeatedly tried buying the complete works of Hungarian cult director Bela Tarr from a small DVD store in Budapest as a Christmas present for Angelina Jolie, but whenever he called the place, they thought it was a joke and hung up on him. "He tried several times on the phone but had to give up. They just didn't believe him," an aide to Pitt tells Britain's Daily Mail. Finally, he got a friend in the city, opera singer Laszlo Domahidy, to buy the collection for him.
"It's your interpretation but i doubt his father would denounce a " bearding act" after saying his son wasn't gay."
Are you kidding? If you want to keep your son in your life and you know he's in the closet, you say that he isn't gay. But things have changed since Stephen made that statement. I think that the high-wire act reference is Stephen's way of saying that he doesn't really feel the need to keep Jake in his life right now, so why dispense with the pretensions and familial lies to protect Jake?
The high-wire act is Jake, a closeted gay man, perched precariously on the thin edge of bearding campaign, pretending to be straight when everybody with any sense in his family circle and in the industry knows that he's not; pretending to be happy and contented when he's probably one of the loneliest, most isolated, frightened, frustrated actors in Hollywood; pretending that LA/Brentwood is his home when LA is little more than his office and his real home is nowhere near Brentwood; pretending that the near absence of non-industry friends, his best friend and his family from his public life is irrelevant; pretending that the absence of any firm future roles is not a problem, etc.
Remember when his mother told Jake is 'mine the darkness?" Well, that's what he's doing. If your PR people can't even gin up a few buddies for a small birthday party, you are definitely walking along the edge of a straight razor.
I think that the high-wire act reference is Stephen's way of saying that he doesn't really feel the need to keep Jake in his life right now, so why dispense with the pretensions and familial lies to protect Jake?
Because love for your child should be unconditional?
Papa G has a stick up his ass and most likelly is jealous of Jake and probably always was. Letting that batshit crazy Cantara use Jake's online fandom to sell his shitty poetry and then gets pissed off when it all blows up in his face.
Jake and Maggie have had issues with daddy for years, the split was way before Reese. Papa is a head case I assume that blurb is because Jake and Maggie finally cut their strings and decided to do more commercial stuff like Pop and TDK, which both papa and mama frowns on I suspect.
Too bad that papa isn't around to get his hands on their $$$, good riddince.
PS: Both Mama and Papa tried to hook Jake up with David Caruso's daughter, but after playing hiding the salami with her a few times he decided to go for bigger fish so i doubt papa is sad to see him beard, bet he is quite proud of him landing a bigger fish.
Papa is feeling blue because Jacob no longer returns his calls or e-mails.
I do recall Jake saying around the time of the Brokeback mountain award season that he had become best friends with Heath. No, I don't remember which publication. Also, if everyone in Hollywood knows that Jake is gay, would Heath have known this as well. If we can presume so, then why would Heath say, in his Rolling Stone interview, that both he and Jake are "sensible and straight."?
Also, since it's been fairly apparent that Jake has/had a serious crush on Heath, do you suppose that Jake would have dumped Austin if there had been any way he could get with Heath, esp. since I understand that Heath supposedly knew of Austin and couldn't stand him. I understand that Heath refered to Austin as an f***king extra.
Lastly, if he had lived, do you think Heath may have been the one who could have taken Jake and steered him in the right direction.
And please don't tell me about Jake being disrespectful to Heath's memory. Going for a walk with your public girlfriend is not disrespectful, especially when you are several steps behind in an isolated fog. Sometimes the only way you can deal with pain is to shut down and barrel forward regardless of how it looks to others. And if he's still talking about Heath in the present tense (i.e., the Ted and Lisa interview), then he not processing the grief well. You don't consciously chose the tense in which you discuss someone and maintain it consistently. I wouldn't be surprised if there's fallout later from the stuff's that' repressed.
As for Jake and Austin, there may have been love in the beginning, but I believe that Austin is just a convenient doormat who knows his role and serves his purpose. When Jake gets what,or who he really wants, Austin will be history.
And anybody who believes in a Baby Tile is a pathetic fangirl (regardless of gender).
"Papa G has a stick up his ass and most likelly is jealous of Jake and probably always was. Letting that batshit crazy Cantara use Jake's online fandom to sell his shitty poetry and then gets pissed off when it all blows up in his face."
ITA
Pissed off, kissed off, and whining. I hope his new girlfriend leaves him and he has to spend the rest of his life in a trailer camp in the desert with Cantera and her creepy husband, shaking their shoes every morning to get rid of the scorpions.
In another encounter with a fan (the story was posted here a few months ago), Jake talked about Heath in the past tense and it looks like he accepted the sad fact he's gone. I've never heard that Heath had any problems with Austin. I'm not even sure they knew each other.
"Also, since it's been fairly apparent that Jake has/had a serious crush on Heath, do you suppose that Jake would have dumped Austin if there had been any way he could get with Heath,"
I'm gonna get shit for this but yep.
"esp. since I understand that Heath supposedly knew of Austin and couldn't stand him. I understand that Heath refered to Austin as an f***king extra."
Let me guess, you understand this from that DL BS fanfic, right? Please, Heath probably didn't even know Austin.
3:26 How can you conclude that Maggie doesn't have issues with her dad based on that? Papa only mentioned Jake because he knows that what's left of Jake's online fandom will respond, Maggie's online fandom barely exisits.
He knows he that's the only way he gets hits if he mentions Jake, pathetic. No wonder he is so bitter and his family kicked his sorry ass to the curb.
3:26 How can you conclude that Maggie doesn't have issues with her dad based on that? Papa only mentioned Jake because he knows that what's left of Jake's online fandom will respond, Maggie's online fandom barely exisits.
I've said "Daddy doesn't have issues with Maggie". Papa mentioned Maggie and Jake's birthdays because they are his children.
it was a big fat crush this is what Jake meant when he said it was a "special friendship"
Heath was pretty clear about wanting to put BBMt behind him, Jake was unable to do this.
I'm not sure he meant the crush when he said "special friendship". Jake and Heath repeatedly said that BBM opened a lot of doors for them. While they appreciated the success, of course they moved on to other projects.
And if he's still talking about Heath in the present tense (i.e., the Ted and Lisa interview), then he not processing the grief well. You don't consciously chose the tense in which you discuss someone and maintain it consistently.
Heath will always exist as the characters in his films; because of this, I make a conscious decision and effort to refer to him in the present tense when I take great joy in discussing him so that his memory will live on. I am unfortunately all too aware that he is gone. I'm sure other people do the same, and feel the same about him.
I figured Jake was doing some kind of Buddhist thing, talkin' like this.
I dont think Jake was concerned about processing his grief, I think he was concerned about processing his career aims in terms of speaking out about Heath or keeping his lip zipped.
Im sure every Hwood actor and those abroad were shocked and upset and griefstricken.
At the same time Im sure Jake's handlers and perhaps even his mom were saying, don't touch it, boy. if I were his handler, with a Disney francise on the horizon, I would have advised the same.
Lotta Heathens about, tonite. Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks
So, are some of you saying that Jake may love Austin, but he fell in love with Heath. Well, I do remember reading somewhere that there was something about Heath that was almost primal, attracting men and women.
Heath was an amazing man. He would have become a role model that Jake could have used.
That Heath knew of Austin and called him a fucking extra is BS fanfic, no proof. I wish stuff like that stops being repeated as truth/"
That is a complete lie, as if Heath would care--plus Heath was friends with A LOT of different people, some of whom were not very well known actors. I seriously doubt he would say that nor someone's status on the set mean that much to him.
I just really think Jake doesn't need to pimp "Reeke" for his career. He's a solid and respected actor, he just needs good roles, which he can get even w/o Reeke, I'm sure.
"The high-wire act is Jake, a closeted gay man, perched precariously on the thin edge of bearding campaign, pretending to be straight when everybody with any sense in his family circle and in the industry knows that he's not; pretending to be happy and contented when he's probably one of the loneliest, most isolated, frightened, frustrated actors in Hollywood; pretending that LA/Brentwood is his home when LA is little more than his office and his real home is nowhere near Brentwood; pretending that the near absence of non-industry friends, his best friend and his family from his public life is irrelevant; pretending that the absence of any firm future roles is not a problem, etc."
Why can't we compare Heath and Jake? People compare other people all the time. Heath was very different from Jake. I'm not saying "better", I'm saying "different". When I saw BBM, I fell for Jakey and his blue eyes, but the more I learnt about Heath, the more I respect him and also happen to like his beautiful rugged looks. It has always seemed to me that Jake, straight or gay, had some sort of crush on Heath, it's just Heath wasn't interested. Had he been though, Jake would have been under him in a second.
I agree, Anon. 5:37, I noticed that too. There was so much beauty between Ennis and Jack, but part of it was their opposite good looks as a couple - dark and blue-eyed, dark blond and brown-eyed. What a lovely contrast. They were photographed beautifully.
Had he been though, Jake would have been under him in a second.
Wouldn't that have been something. :)
I don't consider it grieving at this point; more like celebrating Heath's life and amazing acting, and that we were lucky enough to have him. It makes me happy to see him in his films.
I agree, Anon. 5:37, I noticed that too. There was so much beauty between Ennis and Jack, but part of it was their opposite good looks as a couple - dark and blue-eyed, dark blond and brown-eyed. What a lovely contrast. They were photographed beautifully.
They looked good together. Ang Lee said they make a good couple. He's absolutely right. Perfect casting.
Pretend to be inside of someone's head? My comments are based on simple perceptions, just like yours. Whenever anyone says anything negative about Jake, some babbler accuses them of being an insider or pretending to 'be inside of Jake's head'. Obviously, the babblers have had to much christmas pudding.
OK, how about this psychology #101 lesson for the slow reekers among us. No birthday party for a closeted big star pretending to be happy with tons of money = family and genuine friends are refusing to condone the bearding scheme = PR doesn't have the clout to construct a charade around everyone = at the end of the day, this is a pretty lonely, disaffected, pathetic, confused star.
who are these people stuffed with Christmas pudding who are saying dumb stuff. O I get it! kids are on holiday vacation, husbands are drinking, they gotta blow off their stupid theories somewhere.
Just a reminder. Heath owned a home in LA. He knew about Austin, and I did hear that he didn't like him.
I also think that Jake would have been under Heath in a minute. People always like to point to the Laker pictures regarding the chemistry between Austin and Jake. Well, look at any of the pictures of Jake and Heath together. Jake couldn't keep his eyes off Heath. It was blatant. I also find it interesting that the Austin fangirls really do get their knickers in a twist if you imply that Jake could ever have been in love with any other man.
Why do you suppose they are so threatened by Heath or his memory?
Am I the only one who has noticed that the closely cropped hairstyle that Austin has recently sported looks very similar to hairstyles that Heath has sported. I guess you do whatever you have to to keep your man happy.
"6:49 PM or maybe Jake is totally nuts about Reese and is one of those guys who's girlfriend becomes their whole world?"
There was a section in the DSM for that up until 1973. It's called Homosexuality is a Pathological Disease, and the cure is to find a beard, renounce your wicked, libidious urgings, separate yourself from all pro-gay family members and friends, and if necessary, consult a priest. Nothing cures homosexuality like a little 'world-shifting' and an 8 million dollar paycheck.
7:31, I do not believe the fanfic that Heath disliked Austin--I doubt he ever knew him, although he could have met him that time Jake/Austin and that gal Austin was dating from that movie (Izabella) went to the AFI premiere of "Casanova." But I don't think he knew him to form ANY opinion of him. That was a lie fabricated by a delusional slash writer who pretended to have inside info but didn't have ANY.
HOWEVER, I did notice back then (Lakers games 1) that Austin and Heath were similar types--tall, lanky, boyishly handsome--very similar physical types. I remember once reading on DC someone saying they liked Austin because he reminded them of Heath's Ennis.
Who knew the mere mention of Heath would set off such strong reactions? There's nothing wrong with speculating about who might have had a crush on him. He was a dynamic man. I don't intend to ever stop talking about him.
Jake may have lusted big time after Heath - who wouldn't. Even a straight mag writer said he could not keep his eyes off Heath even though the beautiful Naomi Watts was nearby. Heath's sexuality and magnetism was off the chart. But Jake was deeply in love with Austin.
I seriously doubt that Jake slept with Heath, (even with the rumours about Heath and his twinks) but Jake made it damn obvious that he would if he could. Boyfriend or no Boyfriend.
Aw, c'mon. It's alot more fun to speculate about Jake and Heath,(beautiful, strong, willful, multi-talented, multi-faceted, primal Heath) than Jake and Austin (the dull doormat).
Maybe Reeke is on to something, with the Fedora and so forth, some kind of comic version of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. If they start working the film archetypes they could be another ummm. . . give me time. . . ummm. . . give them time. . .

"The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will be seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements.
"The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will take place Sunday, January 11, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton with a live telecast airing on NBC at 8 p.m. (EST) and produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Chris Donovan is the director and dcp's Bob Bardo is the executive in charge of production.
I will cry too, I will love him forever (not that I wouldn't anyway). It would be a beautiful thing. I hope they won't break our hearts again by promising something and then it won't happen, that's why I didn't want to say. But it would be a beautiful thing.
I think that would beyond tacky since he has not said a word in a year. We have no idea what catagory he will be presenting.
I know Michelle said that she will not be excepting if he win and there was talk of the father, but it would be more appropriate if Chris Nolan excepted on his behalf if he won.
GG are PR driven and I wouldn't put it past Jake's PR to pull a stunt like that but fans will call foul.
Jake has presented at these awrds before, I think this may be his forth time, the last was in '07 when he presented the best screenplay.
Also, don't the previous winner in that category present that award or is that just the academy awards???
That press release doesn't mention what catagory he will presenting.
Simmer down, it ain't going to happen. Jake has presented before, no big deal. If Heath wins either his father or one of his sisters or probably Nolan or C. Bale would be more appropriate to accept. There is no reason for him to except for a cheap PR stunt and I don't think his family would like that.
I don't think it would be insulting at all. Probably it was difficult in the beginning, but people have had time to adjust to the shock, and it would be a great tribute if Jake decided to do it. I don't think it's self-promotion, I don't think he'd do that. Plus, it could get pretty emotional for him up there, and if he were willing in spite of all that, it would mean a lot. I'm not gonna get my hopes up, all I want is for Heath to win, and if Chris Nolan or the elegant Welsh knight Christian Bale accepts on Heath's behalf, that's fine too.
THE fuss being created about who will accept Heath Ledger's Golden Globe award posthumously should he win has been settled.
Kim Ledger, father of the Golden Globe nominee, called Confidential yesterday to notify us that one of Ledger's The Dark Knight co-stars is expected to accept the actor's award posthumously should Heath for his role as the Joker win in January.
Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman are prime candidates for the job - not Kim and not, it seems, Ledger's ex Michelle Williams.
Ledger Sr also dismissed rumours that he was in a battle with Warner Brothers over who should claim the gong. He said he would be unable to attend the ceremony due to work commitments in Australia.
Thanks 9:26AM, that makes perfect sense. Jake was asked present because he presented before and his people let it be known that he was available, no big deal. And if he avoids doing the red carpet like he did whjen he presented in 2007, then he can avoid the Heath questions.
I meant that it was understandably very hard for Jake to say anything publicly after the loss of Heath, but he may feel more up to it now after having time to adjust. So I don't think it would be tacky, or self-promoting, or anything but a fine tribute to a friend. There is never a wrong time, and it's never too late, to say good things and recall memories of a lost friend.
But, Christian Bale would be elegant and magnificent, quite regal for Heath too. :)
All it has to be is a simple tribute, whoever does it. Christian Bale's speaking voice in his Welsh accent is beautiful. In his American roles, you'd never know he wasn't an American. He can rock a black tshirt too in TDK! ;)
Jake would never accept or present an award for Heath. After 2yrs of pretending with Reese, that would be to controversal and would open Jake up to take questions in the Press Room that won't be censored. We will probably see Jake give some vanilla prsentation for a vanilla award and sit with the Chin and use the opportunity for their big "coming out as an official couple at an industry award show". I mean it ain't like Four Christmases will win any kind of award and I'm sure Reese wants to have that "former Gloden Globe winner" title after her name when they show her at her table with Jake.
9:49, because all kinds actors present all kinds of awards for all kinds of reasons - it's just as acceptable for Jake to do it as for anyone. Even more so because they worked together on such an iconic film - they'll always have that connection. But a TDK co-star would be fine too. No need to panic. I realize that there may have been a lot of hard work done to try and distance them.
To me, it just seems awkward to have Jake at the Golden Globes, especially after Brokeback took them by storm back then, and not presenting to Heath - "and oh yeah, Jake Gyllenhaal will be presenting the award to so-and-so". Ok, but anticlimactic in a way, but that's just me. But as I said, all that matter is that if Heath wins.
Jake is not going to present Best Supporting Actor. It'll probably be whoever won last year (if I can only remember who won last year). And if Heath wins, he won't be accepting the GG for him--it will probably be Bale, the director Nolan or another person from TDK.

That was winter 2007.
^^Of course he will spend holidays with his children and not in Australia with the girlfriend's family. I mean, why is this unexpected?
Because rags reported that Ryan and Abbie will to be spending the holidays in Australia.
^^Obviously they were wrong, like usual.
The OZ rag said that they were going to spend the holidays in Delaware.
Most likely he'll spend the holidays in L.A. with his children. I think it's a safe bet. ;)
The kids will probably spend a part of the holidays with mom and the other with dad.
Natalie Portman on Sean Penn in 'Milk'
Actors champion fellow colleagues in 2008 performances

It's nice to think Jake would wear a beanie to remember Heath.
Heath with beanie
Jake with beanie
Both wear very dark sunglasses. :)
I think Sean Penn or Micky Rourke (spelling?) are gonna win the Oscar. I'm rooting for Penn to bring more attention to the film.
Heath with beanie
Jake with beanie
Jake, dark pink beanie would look good on you :)

People magazine: False and False
lol
Isn't People mag. usually quite reliable?
People magazine is a rag = a lot of PR lies mixed with some truth.
Jake is wearing "the" jeans again. :) Maybe he still loves, um, us after all!!!

Re. Heath/Jake, Austin/Jake
Yes, bleach stains for sure LOL
http://www.iheartjakemedia.com/displayimage.php?album=1286&pos=28
I'm sure. Reese is a beard.
10:37, I think you're right that they are playing with us, but at least they're giving us some attention.
That's why I understand so many fans wish for them to be friends.
Wish? Jake said they were good friends. I don't think Ted and Lisa made that up.
And that Ted, Jake and Reese are fooling us around and wastin our time. :(
I'm not "wasting" my time,
i'm having fun with this! :)))
There's a lot of semiotics going on here. The hand-holding thing. ALWAYS. They make it clear that they are being forced to do this. That is how they tell us they love us.
And that Ted, Jake and Reese are fooling us around and wastin our time.
Bullshit. Jake and Reese have careers they're trying to keep and general public to fool.
"Forced" may not be the right word, but doing it for show anyway.
Not forced, but paid handsomely.

RDJ said in Rolling Stone that when he was young he launched, cultivated and encouraged in the press and public the idea that he is gay / bisexual.

re: RDJ, yeah, of course the thing is that he *is* gay / bisexual. Talking about it as if it was a fake thing he did for fun when he was young is just one more example of the Hollywood Closet Rule.

Didnt Jake say something to the effect of Heath being a special friend. not that "they were good friends" which they apparently were not.
There is nothing "apparently" about Jake and Heath's friendship.

"There is nothing "apparently" about Jake and Heath's friendship."
There is ONLY "appearance" in the lives of fans and our crushes. That's all we've got, bud, fuckin' all, so I hope you know that if you never know the rest.
That's not true. No one can pretend all the time.
Clap your hands if you BELIEVE ! ! !
Believe what?
The most worrying thing about the possibility of Reeke being real is what that makes Jake: an unpopular mummies's boy who makes his gf his best and only friend when he gets one. You know the type. I've met plenty.
Basically straight Jake = dweeb.
He should pay Ted for making him sound less boring. Really.
"who makes his gf his best and only friend when he gets one. You know the type. I've met plenty."
Not since I graduated from sixth grade.
^ ^ ^
It's called "co-dependency" in adults.
Reeke is using paparazzi to create certain public image - nothing to do with "co-dependency" in adults.
Then, they have "co-dependent publicity".
That's not a good thing either.
That's very bad for Jake's public image and very good for Reese's public image.
He should pay Ted for making him sound less boring. Really.
LOL. I agree.

They Held Hands!!!

BRAD: NO JOKE
3:00PM WORST FAN FIC EVER!!!!
3:15 PM, if he played hiding the salami with Greta, does that mean he is bisexual then?

My Girl's Day
Happy birthday, Pilot.
Gay men can get it up for women. Please people stop deluding yrself about the facts of life, its insulting, Im not sure to whom, but it is.
Re: the friendship with Heath.
If we can presume so, then why would Heath say, in his Rolling Stone interview, that both he and Jake are "sensible and straight."?
Do you expect Jake's friends and colleagues to out him?
"Papa G has a stick up his ass and most likelly is jealous of Jake and probably always was. Letting that batshit crazy Cantara use Jake's online fandom to sell his shitty poetry and then gets pissed off when it all blows up in his face."

I'm gonna get shit for this but yep.
I agree.

Some gay men can get it up for women when they need to.
There in no need to fuck Reese, she's a beard and a business associate.

I havent the faintest idea what these two douchebags do when and if they're alone together, and dont much care it makes me ill to think about it.
it makes me ill to think about it.
Yeah me too.
If your PR people can't even gin up a few buddies for a small birthday party, you are definitely walking along the edge of a straight razor.
;_;
That Heath knew of Austin and called him a fucking extra is BS fanfic, no proof. I wish stuff like that stops being repeated as truth/ I
Daugthers are generally forgiving of their fathers, even when rolling in the gutter drunk. Its a primal thing.
it's just a little crush
4:14 PM, I also think fathers love their daughters more than their sons generally. Or am I wrong?
you are wrong as berding
"4:14 PM, I also think fathers love their daughters more than their sons generally. Or am I wrong?"
And boys luv their mommies. "Amlet,'Amlet, lov'd 'is mommy. . . "
Also Oedipus. Why Jake tried to put out his eye on the PoP set.
berding do you mean "birding"? or whut
Why Jake tried to put out his eye on the PoP set.
LMAO.
"it's just a little crush"
it was a big fat crush this is what Jake meant when he said it was a "special friendship"
Heath was pretty clear about wanting to put BBMt behind him, Jake was unable to do this.
Why do people like 3:15 PM like to pretend they are insiders?
"Why do people like 3:15 PM like to pretend they are insiders?"
Relax, sweetie. Its a game. Respect the other gamers.
3:15 doesnt leave his/her brains outside the door. why does this bother you?
4:42, does someone who expresses their views with authority intimidate you? perhaps you might reflect upon this.
4:42, does someone who expresses their views with authority intimidate you?
What authority? Bullshit like "both Mama and Papa tried to hook Jake up with David Caruso's daughter" is not an opinion nor someone's view.
O come on, Heath was a fine actor and a true artist, but not a Saint. Heathens go home.
I dont like to see these two men compared. Its stupid.
Are Heath's Heathen (love that!) fan sites still up and running?
Heathens go home.
Shut up, they aren't going anywhere.
Thanks , this fic is quite interesting LOL
"A closeted gay man, bearding and industry knows that he's gay" is not fiction.
I think the Heathens still light candles on DC threads.
I respect this community, and so do not like to badmouth it, but I do not visit these threads because I find them wallowing in their own grief.
Grief mongers?
I am always amazed by people who pretend to know everything whereas they obviously know nothing.
"Why do people like 3:15 PM like to pretend they are insiders?"
Cause people like 3:00 pretend to be in dady G's head and Jake's head.
But like someone said above , it's just a game!
peace and love
"A closeted gay man, bearding and industry knows that he's gay is not fiction."
Really ?
So, are some of you saying that Jake may love Austin, but he fell in love with Heath.
I do think so, yes.
Maybe I've read too much slash;)
Yes, grief mongers.
sorry jake's crush for heath is totaly slash for me ,but i have to admit jake/heath slash are the best .
"Maybe I've read too much slash;)"
ITA :D
Had he been though, Jake would have been under him in a second.
lol, can't argue with that
I agree, Anon. 5:37, I noticed that too. There was so much beauty between Ennis and Jack, but part of it was their opposite good looks as a couple - dark and blue-eyed, dark blond and brown-eyed. What a lovely contrast. They were photographed beautifully.
"So, are some of you saying that Jake may love Austin, but he fell in love with Heath.
I do think so, yes.
Having a crush and falling in love are two diff. things.
Had he been though, Jake would have been under him in a second.
Wouldn't that have been something. :)
I don't consider it grieving at this point; more like celebrating Heath's life and amazing acting, and that we were lucky enough to have him. It makes me happy to see him in his films.
Having a crush and falling in love are two diff. things.
It could have been "crush", "in love" or maybe it's all just wishful thinking. How can we know?
I honestly don't know how anyone couldn't have a crush on Heath.
Yes, really 5:36 PM.
Jake is a closeted gay man, bearding and industry knows that he's gay.
:x
Heath was great in every way.
Jake, would you please take your hand out of your trousers.
Is that too complicated for you?
WTF2=slash site
Im sure these two are extremely annoying to others. Jake's always been KIND of annoying, you see this on Donnie Dorko DVD production notes.
6:49 PM or maybe Jake is totally nuts about Reese and is one of those guys who's girlfriend becomes their whole world?
WTF2=slash site
Do you have a problem with slash?
who are these people stuffed with Christmas pudding who are saying dumb stuff. O I get it! kids are on holiday vacation, husbands are drinking, they gotta blow off their stupid theories somewhere.
6:53 PM has a problem with gay Jake. lol
6:58 PM #2
ROFLMAO!
I'm sure you would look lovely with glasses.
Why such angry reactions?
“The angry people are those people who are most afraid”
- Dr. Robert Anthony
Trolls are angry because Papa G basically outed his boy.
PapaG outed himself as a bad poet
I loved Heath and Naomi together. Plus, she seems like a good person too. I love that she stuck by him. :)
Oh my G*d, 3:28 PM! ;)
Do you think Jake slept with Heath?
I seriously doubt that Jake slept with Heath, (even with the rumours about Heath and his twinks) but Jake made it damn obvious that he would if he could. Boyfriend or no Boyfriend.
Aw, c'mon. It's alot more fun to speculate about Jake and Heath,(beautiful, strong, willful, multi-talented, multi-faceted, primal Heath) than Jake and Austin (the dull doormat).
"Jake is a closeted gay man, bearding and industry knows that he's gay"
of course , they even know about BT
Totaly agree with you 11:48
they even know about BT
Really?!
3:28 has some nerve calling BT believers pathetic when he/she has amassed a tissue of lying fic and appears to be believing it! Crazy.
Maybe Reeke is on to something, with the Fedora and so forth, some kind of comic version of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. If they start working the film archetypes they could be another ummm. . . give me time. . . ummm. . . give them time. . .
Who knew the mere mention of Heath would set off such strong reactions?
Babblers can't stand any man who could tempt Jake to show his gayness. Doesn't matter if the man is alive or not.

^^Wow. :) I'm not gonna say a word, but I'm thinkin' it.
Say it!
It's possible! However Im not sure how I'd feel about this -
Jake will be presenting Heath's award. (i'm not 8:48)
I hope he will be crying.
Because I know I will.
Ok, I'll say it. Jake may present Heath's Award?
I will cry too, I will love him forever (not that I wouldn't anyway). It would be a beautiful thing. I hope they won't break our hearts again by promising something and then it won't happen, that's why I didn't want to say. But it would be a beautiful thing.
^^^^
IT WOULD BE THE MOST DISGUSTING SELF PROMOTION SHIT EVER!!!
if he wanted to say something about his pain on Heath's death, thee was a time and a place to do that (Heath's funeral)
You know what they say 8:56 AM - people who expect nothing will never be disappointed.
Aint gonna happen. With Jake risking everything now to play it straight? Are you kidding?
What risk?
"IT WOULD BE THE MOST DISGUSTING SELF PROMOTION SHIT EVER!!!

I agree. It would be an insulting to everyone concerned, including Heath. I think it's already been discussed who might be called to do this.
"What risk?"
Losin' soul, heart, creative spirit - etcetcetc
However, I think he's gonna figure out a way to pull it all off, he's a clever little bugger.
Losin' soul, heart, creative spirit - etcetcetc
Huh? Please explain.

What are we discussing?
Jake talking about Heath or Jake accepting Heath's GG award (can't happen because Heath's father wants someone from TDK to accept it)?
Thanks 9:26AM, that makes perfect sense. Jake was asked present because he presented before and his people let it be known that he was available, no big deal. And if he avoids doing the red carpet like he did whjen he presented in 2007, then he can avoid the Heath questions.
I doubt Kim asked on of Heath's co-stars to accept, most likely it was Warner bros and the GG people that did.
"Jake was asked present because he presented before and his people let it be known that he was available, no big deal. "
Desperate, closeted actors will do anything for a little pr and good karma. Besides, it's not as if he has anything else to do!
Jake would never accept or present an award for Heath.
No one would ask / expect Jake to accept an award for Heath. Why would they? TDK co-star makes much more sense.
Whatever happens, I hope Heath wins, that's all I care about. :)

Presenting is one thing. Accepting an award is something else.
Jake presenting Best Supporting Actor award makes sense. Accepting it - does not.
All I meant was presenting, not accepting!!! Sorry for any confusion.
Guys,
please be clear about presenting or accepting part, I need to know what I'm arguing about! LOL
Actually, Jake presenting and a TDK costar accepting would be a fine tathering of and tribute to a friend and fellow actor.

^^sorry, gathering. :)

Thanks!
I wish everyone here would think before jumping to the keyboard to write.
You all look like a chicken barn when the fox got in. ;)
^^Well, we all agree now, I think. I wasn't gonna say anything anyway! ;)
If you go back and look, I said present and not accept.
Also, don't the previous winner in that category present that award or is that just the academy awards???
This I am not sure of. :)
Jake is not going to present Best Supporting Actor. It'll probably be whoever won last year (if I can only remember who won last year). And if Heath wins, he won't be accepting the GG for him--it will probably be Bale, the director Nolan or another person from TDK.
^^That's fine, I'm going to watch for sure, can't wait! :)
